This is what I get when i connect the phone to the laptop
can anyone tell me how to fix it ?? because i really love my phone and i'm in panic now
First, it sounds like you used the version of autorec in the Play Store which specifically says it's for 23C only.
The version for 24B you can find in @bender_007 's autorec thread in the General section of the non-Verizon G3 forums. The one there they doesn't say what it's for its for 23C also, then below it is the 24B version.
Download mode works even though you don't see anything on the screen, just take the battery out, put it back in and go through the motions of putting it in Download mode.
It's easiest to root and put TWRP on from 10B anyway.
This'll also fix your trouble.

hello
thanks for your response ♥
i'm trying to flash the 10b tot
i'm getting the same error every time
can u help me to solve this ?
Are you 100% positive you're in download mode? Which says: Firmware upgrade/update ?
This tells us you don't have the vs985 model at all or it can't even get your model info. I've tried to manually inject a model number into "to (985)" and succeded but it still didn't want to flash so I forced the device into 9008 mode.
See if it really shows you the download mode (no blue dots..)

The screen is all black .. i can't see anything
i don't know if it's Download mode or anything else ..
is there an easier way to force the device to go to 9008 mode ?
i already have BoardDiag installed and the tot extracted ..
so it'll be a lot easier for me to fix it if it's in 9008 mode
Ah wait, see the v35b downgrade tutorial, you're not bricked, you just didn't see the warnings on playstore. Search for "downgrade vs985 35b" and you're safe.

Don't force it into QHSUSB_BULK 9008 mode, you shouldn't have to. If you have trouble flashing the TOT the right way you might have trouble recovering from QHSUSB_BULK 9008 mode. You can effectively enough tell it's in Download mode by going through the motions I described and noting that it does show up in Device Manager in the Port section, just as you posted screenshots for. It's true that it can show that in different circumstances, but there's been dozens of others who've done the exact same thing as you and were able to recover.
You followed the three links I gave you and read all the information regarding downgrading using the 10B TOT? You're using the newer .DLL that's extracted from the 35B KDZ?
You can also try flashing the 10B KDZ instead. It might be easier for you, see @annoyingduck 's stickied return to stock thread in the General section for that. TOT is preferred, though.
There's no easier way to force it into QHSUSB_BULK 9008 mode. I tried a few times and failed because the pins are so tiny that I might've been shorting the wrong ones, or what I was using wasn't conductive enough. In the end, it turned out I just needed to use a different PC and/or different LG OEM cable - not sure which one did the trick since I changed both things at the same time.
See the following for Warning/encouragement when trouble flashing TOT/KDZ, and also regarding not needing to force into QHSUSB_BULK 9008 mode, but my previous three links for more specific regarding downgrading:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68054128&postcount=5
Edit: Whoops, goofed up my post edit earlier. Edit 2: Okay, for some reason (too long a post?) TapaTalk isn't showing the link at all. Got rid of quotes to try to shorten.

Did you follow all the steps including replacing the megalock.dll file?
I had the black screen also and fixed it by flashing the 10B TOT by following this thread exactly, second post down, the TOT method.

If what @cory733 said doesn't help, a different PC might be your only option.
You didn't answer specifically, did you definitely try the more recent LG .DLL (different than the megalock) That's extracted from the 35B KDZ?

Like I said in at least one of the three posts I linked to originally, the .DLL that's from the 35B KDZ is at my Android File Host link that's at the bottom of the first post of @annoyingduck 's stickied return to stock thread in the General section. I also link to his thread in my signature below.
The filename of the .DLL is meaningless - it's named the same or similar no matter how old or new the version is.

You can flash whatever KDZ you want, just remember that if you flash the 35B or higher KDZ, you can't flash older than a 35B KDZ without first flashing the 10B TOT.
It's easiest to root and put TWRP on 10B. If you want those things, I suggest flashing the 10B KDZ if you can't get the TOT to work on another PC. Then got can flash a 24B based ROM if that's what you want, or one based on another version.

I'm assuming at this point that you read in full every link I gave you including information regarding using the original LG cable, and what kind of USB ports to use, etc. I don't know what to tell you.
Could you be more specific about what LG Flash Tool 2014 says when you try to flash the KDZ? You read the second post of @annoyingduck 's stickied return to stock thread in the General section regarding things that look like errors in LG Flash Tool 2014 but aren't?

Hello everybody,
Fortunatly, my device is not in "brick" state but I would feel safer if I could have an answer to my question.
I flashed my ROM with the following method (the main purpose was to root my device with the Lelus method) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344
But, the only way I could get the LG Update Tool working was to have my device with Android started and USB mode to set "LG Software". Then, the LG Update Tool restart my device to "S/W Update" screen during its flashing procedure.
However, if I directly start my device on the "S/W Update" mode (by pressing Volume Down button while I plug through USB the device to my computer), the LG Update Tool refuses to see the device.
This issue could eventually happen if Android was not bootable (because of some human mistake, of course; it's my first Android device so I am a noob ).
Is there any known procedure to restore an unbootable L9 P760 device ? (for example, force LG Update Tool to recognize the device even if it was directly on "S/W Update" state)
Thank you for your answers and your time
AW: [Q] Theorical question about L9 P760 unbricking
You must hold vol+ and insert USB for s/w Update.
Try the emergency mode with lg Update Tool.
Thank you for your answer. I am sorry, I made a mistake in my post : when I said "Volume Down", I meant "Volume Up" . When I manually reached the "S/W Update" screen, it was by doing the good action .
Unfortunatly, even with "EMERGENCY" or "CS_EMERGENCY" mode, the result is still the same : the LG Update Tool refuses to perform a flash directly from the "S/W Update" screen. The output text is the following (in both "EMERGENCY" and "CS_EMERGENCY" mode) :
Code:

I tried to unplug and plug again the phone after 10 seconds (as it is advised in the unbrick totorial to force driver installation) : the result is still the same when I click on "Restart" from the update tool. In addition, I don't understand how it could be a driver issue : there is no unrecognized device on my Windows drivers manager and I am able to perform a flash as long as I start from a booted Android with the right options (the LG Update Tools restarts itself the phone in "S/W Update" and it works : the strange part is that during a more advanced update process step, while the phone is in "S/W Update" mode, my Windows pops up a found new device panel, but even if Windows doesn't find any valid driver, the update process continues and the result is right).
Do you have any other idea about this direct flash through "S/W Update" mode issue ?
Thank you in advance for your answers
S/W update mode in JB is broken.
To solve it you need to fastboot your phone and flash xloader and uboot from ICS.
Thank you for your answer.
Yes, I forgot to mention it : my phone is running under the official V20B ROM (just a little bit modified with your trick :highfive: ) : I though the "S/W Update" mode was at a lower level (and the Android installation didn't affect it).
I saw a post on this fastboot tool but it's a little bit too "hard" to understand for a beginner like me :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119090
So I think I will check about this solution only if I have to (currrently, this is not the case so I am feeling lazy... )
The last thing I would like to know is if the solution you said requires some previous manipulations which can only be done from my device while it is bootable (such as memory dumps : I am thinking about PS3 hack scene where you must perform your own NAND dump because it is crypted and unique for your PS3 so nobody else can give it to you if you previously corrupt your NAND and you forget to dump it before) ?

Nope, there isn't anything unique about x and u.
Hello Buddy,
I have just one question for you, Have you unlocked bootloader of your L9????
Because the problem you are facing is only result of unlocking bootloader and i also faced the same. If you unlocked the bootloader, then there is no any trick to relock it (Untill Now ....), but still you can flash roms and unbrick soft bricked devices............:good:
AW: [Q] Theorical question about L9 P760 unbricking
Have you tried the original lg update tool? And there the emergency mode.
I had the same problem after downgrade to v10h.
I solved it with the lg update tool, not With the kdz updater.
Hello,
@Lelus : thank you for your answer, I feel safer
@gdjindal : No, I didn't unlocked my bootloader, I just put the last LG update for P760 (JellyBean V20B, French region).
@ramrod : I just used the tool and the method provided in this post :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344
I thought KDZ Update loads "LG Update Tools" throught the created "Small HTTP Server" when I click on the "Web update" button. Is there any other tool ?
Thank you for your help
This is the original lg tool. LGMobile Support Tool

yes kdz loads the update tool, but it can´t detect the phone.
Try the original program, but undo changes in the host file.
i bricked mine to the point of it saying security error. what you do is press power and repeatably press vol up it will get out of the brick loop and go into sw update from there you can use the unbrick guide/flash.
you can also try a hard reset.
power off the phone,
hold volume down and home button
then press / hold the power button.
this helped my wifes phone out of a bootloop.

I just tried it and you are right, ramrod : the original LG Update Tool recognize the phone even when it is on "S/W Update" screen from the begining, it can also perfrom fine an update !
So, the "S/W Update" mode is not broken since JB Update, it is just the way to communicate with it which has changed; and current known offline flash method is incompatible with those changes .
To have an offline method which is compatible with the new "S/W Update" mode behavior, it would requires some reverse-engineering on how the "LGUserCSTool.exe" (which is, I think, the final executable which performs the update) is executed (arguments given at its execution, environement variables previously set by its parent process, inter-process communications).
AW: [Q] Theorical question about L9 P760 unbricking
Perhaps, its possible to copy the cp and ap files manually, after download with LG update tool, timely to the extracting process.
One rooting method used this.

As a RC i can't do that.
Even though it is cracked, we don't see it as "warez". Almost every device has it cracked, so noone would be able to use it if we wouldn't allow it.
I mean, we also "crack" the bootloader of devices, which would be considered as warez, too, in that case
Cheers

Me too. Ever get this figured out?
I think what this boils down to is USB debugging was disabled by the factory reset. I had reset my device to prepare to sell it. When it booted back up I got an OTA offer and, not thinking, I accepted it. However, I still had CWR and root. I think OTA'S require stock recovery to work properly. So, no USB debugging and CWR as the recovery = soft brick. And, since CWR does not have a terminal option, there's no way to enter commands. I'm thinking this is going to be a warranty claim for me.
Will it work to restore a D805?

Hi!
Thank you for this n.n
Will it work to restore a D805? If not, then I better be careful with OTAs, or I better don't use any recovery as I'm not going to
flash any custom ROM till the G2 is done with official updates (2015?).
Thanks again n.n

I get this problem any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Weird issue
Hi All,
tried using flashtool but I get the error that I need to check my phone model or the DLL.
I bought this phone from the Philippines with model number LG D802. I had flashed other roms for this with D802.
But when I was trying a while ago since I got a bootloop issue, the phone's downlaod mode is in korean and says in the phone and flashtool that my phone is running F320K? but it's so weird since I had D802 before even in the IMEI sticker in the back and to think I installed rayglobe ROM, before having the boot loop.
Any help would be appreciated.
THanks!
Okay, so Im trying to update my phone to the latest through the LG mobile support tool.. It tells me I have an update available.. so I start it, and it gets to the point where it says its downloading software.. but it just sits here.. the loading bar disappeared.. and the time elapsed is stuck at :28 seconds.. anyone know why this is happening?

Or if someone knows where I can download the most up to date stock KDZ for metropcs

BTW, perhaps you may delete your IMEI from the log file, just in case.

Hi bewpy, your battery charge should be at least 40%, you also need a good internet connexion and you could try with a back usb port.
It looks like you're doing things the right way, I don't know what's the mater; you could try in another PC, just in case.
Your IMEI is unique and it should be private,so, you could edit your post and change your IMEI from the atached log file, as this:

Well here let me ask you this.. Should there be a loading bar? Or is the screenshot I post exactly how it should look. Keep in mind.. the time elapsed does not continue, it stays frozen. Should I let this go ? The program never says not responding or anything. And I have really good internet, 60mb download speed. 10 upload. So I dont assume it should take to long, should it? And my battery is always higher then 40% when I do this.. I dont get any battery errors when it checks.
Oh, and I just installed a program called NetBalancer, it allows you to see how much bandwitdh each process is using. And it shows that the LG mobile exe only downloaded 250kb and stopped. It doesnt continue downloading, something stops it. I have no AV enabled, I am behind a router. Do I need to forward any ports? I wouldn't think so, but figured i'd ask.

Hi bewpy, I've used LG Mobile Support Tool only two times, it was seven months ago, so I don't remember exactly.
The two times I've used the upgrade recovery, entered my IMEI and following the instructions, there was a download bar, in my case it took more than an hour, first downloading and then installing, but I didn't take any log to compare with yours.
I'm sorry.
Cheers. Good luck.

Okay, well I got it into S/w Mode, and now LG mobile is telling me only wireless upgrades are support on this phone lol.. So I guess my next question is.. how can I update my phone through OTA if ever time I try and run the update, I get the red triangle while its updating?

I flashed cm12.1 and after that I got the "purple screen" error.
When phone is off and I try to normally turn it on:
1st screen:
Code:
Secure booting error!
Cause: boot certification verify
2nd screen:
Code:
DemiGod Crash Handler : DBI Err Fatal!
Board Rev.: 1.0
Ram dump mode.
Option : SD card ram dump mode.
Push below files to sd card before test.
rdcookie.txt, rtcookie.txt
Please do following action.
1) Ram dump Mode. Please connect USB.
2) Get the ram dump image using QPST Configuration.
3) If sdcard ram dump enabled just wait for reboot.
4) Collect ramdump files from your pc or sdcard.
5) Send e-mail to [email protected]
The same happens when I plug in the USB cable when phone shut off.
Also, I cannot enter the fastboot menu (previously I could - before flashing CM12.1 via recovery) using volume UP + power buttons. Therefore, I cannot enter recovery.
Any info on this situation?
You need to short the test point of your phone and force the phone to qhsusb dload mode after that boot repair
it will repair your phone's download mode
And flash the phone

Is there any way to fix this problem bro with out jtak
Thanks.
The test point method is not the JTAG method

Use the test point method. It works very well and it's quite easy. But first I recommend you try "LG Flash Tool 2014" . If that works, no need to open up the phone for test point method. If you are already seeing pink screen demigod error DBI fatal error, no need to go for JTAG I think.
Feel free to ask if you need assistance for testpoint method. I have already published the method for few other people here on XDA. A little search will bring you there

I think you are referring to the famous "purple screen" mode. Relax, that is not hard to get pass.
Follow the steps below.
But, be warned, I am not responsible for any damage caused by following these methods.
Your phone's battery has to be charged at least 50%.
You'll need a USB "data" cable. The one came with your phone is the best. Some third party cables have only power lines connected in and they will not work. So, make sure you have the "data" cable.
1. First, we have to install the necessary drivers(I am assuming that you're using a Windows PC) .
Here are the drivers. Download, install and give your PC a restart.
2. Download LG flash tool 2014 from here and extract it to your root directory(For example, drive "C " in your PC )
3. Download the firmware file for your specific phone model. In your case, as you have mentioned, it is LG D325. This is a link to a matching firmware for LG L70 D325. This file is big and its around 920MB. After download, extract the zip file to the folder where you copied the LG Flash tool 2014.
4. I hope the above mentioned steps were followed correctly and you're ready now. Remove your battery, press the power button for 5-10 seconds and then re insert the battery. press the volume up button and plug the USB cable(The other end has to be plugged in first to PC. Refer to this video if you are unclear.
5. Now launch "LG Flash tool 2014.3.exe" (right click on it and select "run as administrator" for best results).
6. Once the program is open, and click on 1 and select your kdz file which you got from the step 3. Then click either "Normal Flash(2)" of "CSE Flash".

}
7. Now another window will appear and click "Start" as in this picture.
wait until the program finishes and once done, you'll get the initial setup screen on your phone with a greeting message.
If you're still unclear, please pass a comment. Happy communicating..
I'm wondering since the US998 is now available and some people have received it, is there any way to extract a KDZ file for the current software version? The one I have is on Version 08e which is prerelease but would like to be brought current so I can use all the features such as Android Pay, etc. Many services think the phone is rooted or unofficial so it makes it sifficult to use as a daily driver. Any feedback or help would be awesome.
Tell me how to do it, and I'll do it this weekend. I have an extra V30 US998 I'm not using as a daily phone. I'll factory reset it and make the files if it's not too hard.
I've uploaded TWRP image files (stock, rooted, with TWRP installed and without) for Motorola phones. I've used KDZ for LG but never created any.
Last instructions I saw said they don't work any more or something, so that's why I'm asking. I don't want to invest a lot of effort to realize it's outdated information.

I've heard that you can pull it direct from the LG server by going to this website from any PC browser:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Replace the X's with the IMEI of the device the there is a link that shows up in the xml file that displays in the middle of the page under sw_url. Copy and paste that into the browser and that should pull the kdz file direct. I've tried with my device but it doesnt find the model number with my IMEI. Maybe an official device IMEI will work.

Nothing yet available at that link. It returned some information about the V30 model, but no download links.
For my V30 plus, gave null results like it's not even in the database.
I'll see what I can do this weekend on my own.

Start LG Bridge, and do a recovery (dont know the exact name in english atm).
It will prepare your pc and the phone (no idea what it does on the phone at this point) and then it will start downloading.
In C:\Users\<username>\AppData (and some sub folders) theres a LG Bridge folder with a log file, which contains the download URL. You can then download that with whatever browser you want, but you have to change the Useragent (my addon changed it to google spider something and it worked).

Can't get it to work. I can only connect via LG AirDrive and it won't let me do a recovery in LG AirDrive. It actually says to DISCONNECT LG AirDrive, that LG AirDrive is "busy" -- and try again later. Via USB cable it will not connect. I've updated LG Drivers, tried both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. Keeps telling me to connect via USB, but it won't let me connect via USB.

I did it like described in this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-k10/how-to/guide-downloading-kdz-lg-bridge-t3504497
Instead of letting it finish the download though, i looked up in a log file (i think one or 2 folders up from the directory the downloaded .kdz is) and downloaded it manually (chrome with changed user agent)

No image file ever appears. LG Bridge does NOT download anything. But it does "restore" my phone using my backup files on the PC.
When I go to Software Update and click on Update Error Recovery, it basically tells me there's no errors to recover or that can be recovered.
Here's my log file from this folder seen below. I swapped out my PC user name for generic "user name" for the purposes of posting this publicly. In the REAL log, it shows my user name.

I guess LG hasn't actually posted KDZ files for the carrier unlocked US998 yet on their servers, for LG Bridge to download? Your H930 was released a full month before the open market US998.
QUESTION: is there any way to "extract" KDZ from files locally on a phone? Not using LG severs whatsoever? With Windows, not Linux.
I haven't found a recent way to do it in my searches that doesnt involve some special hardware like Android UFST or something like that.
Guess we have to continue to play the waiting game, and I think the next software we get will probably just be Oreo anyways when it launches. I've had the US998 since early August so it feels like it's been out way longer than it actually has to me. Again I appreciate all the efforts you guys put into finding a solution.

Glad it worked for you! I'm still trying to get it to work for me.
What you downloaded was of course a KDZ file LG has on their servers. For some reason it seems the open market LG US998 does not have that yet. Or I'm just doing something wrong, which is always a possibility.
EDIT: just tried again and still get the same message there are no errors that can be recovered -- and again, nothing was downloaded to that Degrade folder. I think that's their strange way of saying there's no KDZ yet available?

Well I thought it worked when I saw I managed to download a 3.05gb kdz but when trying to open it it kept saying it was a unsupported command. Tried 3 times with different download managers. I think the download needs to be authenticated with a username and password through LG developers. But from that failing to work I noticed everytime I update through LG bridge it downloads the kdz to
c:\user\appdata\LGElectronics\LGBridge\SWupgrade\image, after that finished flashing my phone then it self destructs afterwards.
Edit: the kdz works to restore through LG up.
Success.
