Yes! N brought support for manual exposure settings. Not there in the stock app but works in for example Manual Camera. I like!

I am shocked, it all seems to work in Manual Camera.
Edit: Max. shutter time is still 1/5 sec. but you can't have everything I guess.

I am pretty sure those settings were available in most 3rd party camera apps since Nexus 5/ KitKat(camera 2 api) release.

On my 6p with Marshmallow exposure compensation never worked in Manual Camera app. Works now .

maybe you can use the go launcher's sms app, it can give you good results. I haven't tried it yet
I have tried stock sms, handcent sms, go sms, and it is the same bad quality on every one

Have you tried receiving messages from different carriers?
If I have assisted you, please press Thanks button.
Yes i have, but it is the same result android and iphone.

Picture will be compressed before sending as mms. So quality definitely poorer.

Yeah pic max size for mms image is like 640x480 so dont expect miracles.
Who uses mms these day anyway? I think the only person that has ever sent me an mms is my dad from his three or four years old nokia phone.

I have s2 before the s3, on s2 it's god quality on mms, on s3 it so compressed

We had the same problem when we ported i9000 roms to the vibrant. Much like you see between s2 and s3 the mms app is exactly the same. The solution was to change an XML in the app so that it used Google servers instead of samsungs. If someone would like to test I can probably try it tonight but don't have an S3 yet. Of course you'd have yo be rooted to test.

Please do.

I would just like to be able to send and receive mms without it being converted to a slide show, I can't zoom in on pictures of anything without saving it first then looking at it. I find that annoying

The MMS I receive on mine are acceptable (considering the standard limitations)
But I rarely use MMS since ChatOn surpasses it completely. It's free and as long as your buddy uses it, you can send full quality pictures and other files at almost no cost. Not sure if there is a version for iPhone thought. But there are other multiplatform solutions.
Someone give this a go. If not sure how to do it please PM me and I will help. I have no way of testing but I did see in the XML that it was the same as before using Samsung as the provisioning agent so I just switched that with Google otherwise nothing was changed.
maybe its because of the high res screen ?
I have not root my s3 and i should not do it.
When i send for example a picture with a size of 150 kb from my wifes phone, when i received the picture to my phone the size is only 13 kb, but when i send a mms from my phone to my phone the size is 150 kb when i send it and 150 kb when i received it. Is it a softwhere bug from samsung or should i send my phone for reparation? Please.

What do you use to send a picture to someone's phone?
Mine are perfectly fine with both the stock and GoSMS. (Although I don't use the stock SMS program.)
In GoSMS you can set it to preserve image quality.

Camera problem

[Q] odin with resizable window size?

Hi everyone
I have a Problem. I want to flash mi sgs3 with odin. But the only windows running device I've got is a HP mini Notebook. My problem no is, that the Odin window is larger than my screen and there seems to be no way to scroll the window or resize it.
Has anyone a Solution? Is there maybe a Odin version with a smaller window or a resizable one? It's realy frustrating...
You got max resolution on your laptop?
Edit: or try mobile odin instead

yes I have max resolution, but still too small.
I've never tried mobile odin. is it as safe as desktop odin?
edit:
as example: what are my options in case of a bootloop? I assume that's when I really need desktop Odin?

Yeah Odin is great to have but there is alternatives I can't remember the name of right now..heimdal?
Skickat från min GT-I9300 via Tapatalk 2
Im have this same issue except I have a note2. And mobile odin wont work unless your already rooted. This would be a great thing for the odin devs to look into. The resizable odin that is

Lux profiles!

So I have had lux for a while and still don't know what set of samples is battery efficient and still giving me good screen-on time. Anyone have any good set-up? Feel free to share your profiles!

I haven't done anything with this app yet myself, but I too had the same question and found this a while back.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537770. Maybe it'll help.

Use Ascendingly, its the most responsible profile for that device.
-Lux use less than 1% of battery so dony bother about it, the brightness of the phone will be the best due to the light terms with that profile..,
In night it will get to -30% or even lower so if you use your phone in darks room or at night it even can save you battery at its way way more better then the stock auto brightness..
reemar what are your config in lux.
Gesendet von meinem LG-D802 mit Tapatalk 2
already talled you..
Adjust: Ascendingly
Using Profile: Auto (i set sunset location)
And i disable the status bar icon and notification because i hate a non-stop notification
+Drag Lux Dash to home launcher for quick check up..
[--no need to mention that i have the paid app, if you are cheapskate, this is not a problem to get the paid app for free, ask google, he will tell you..]
i am very satisfied with this app and the settings i set for that..
thank you reemar. i will apply your config now. lux is better than the standard brightness adjustment.

Hmm I haven't tried ascending yet. I'll have to give it a try.
