Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik/ART, flash a 48A or 49A based ROM (I recommend @xdabbeb 's VS985 v3.1.1), and the 35B Bootstack (again, from @xdabbeb 's ROM thread, but you need the appropriate Bootstack for any ROM you flash).
I'm not having any luck flashing. Copied the bootstack zip and the 3.1.1 zip to the SD card but now the phone will not access the SD card, only shows
apply update from external sdcard
........................................................................cache
........................................................................ADB
wipe date/factory reset
wipe cache partition
When I select update from SD card it says "E: failed to mount /sdcard (unknown error 150)"
Is there another way I should be doing this (attempted) flashing?

It doesn't sound like you're in TWRP. Select Wipe Cache from the stock-looking recovery to boot into TWRP, then wipe the things I mentioned and do the flashing.
No effect. "cache wipe complete" and still I'm in regular recovery, do not seem to be able to get to TWRP / no sd card access and that's after deleting the card, unmounting the card, remounting the card
I think I've got it, was using the wrong app to install TWRP. Now the long recovery and 'upgrading process..."
Uh oh I did something wrong.
"Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" and I can't go any further
OK, went back to recovery and wiped everything and flashed 3.1.1 and 35B bootstack in the same flash action and it rebooted without issues so far!
OK, minor issue- it won't let me put my own ring tone in, it searches ok, allows me to select it but then just pops back to the list of crummy midi ring tones that came stock

Going to sell my DNA but I want to wipe it. I am first going to do the traditional wipe and re-install the ROM. Then I want to clean off the SD card. I have TWRP. If I do a wipe of just the internal sd card will it keep my system untouched so I can boot into the ROM?
Connect the phone to PC, delete all files on the phone, place stock ROM onto the phone, boot to recovery do a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik) The ROM should still be in data/media. Flash it, reboot, connect to PC, delete ROM file and don't run setup.
There may be a better way but as far as I know the internal card contents won't wipe unless you explicitly choose it. If you can do that from recovery then that will work.
Wipe as normal, flash ROM, then in advanced wipe choose internal storage, swipe to wipe, done. Fresh ROM and no SD card contents.

I have a script for that, it uses dd and writes over the entire data partition with zeroes. Takes forever, but literally zeroes out the SD card and the rest of data, so even apps or app data are gone.

I wouldn't mind using your script.

How do I wipe without bricking my device?
Check if the file system is mounted in the advanced tab, or something with a similar name. I don't remember the exact name.
Hit thanks if I helped.

Thanks stkfigure.
Under "Select Partitions to Mount", I can only select "Cache" and "System" ("Data" and USB-OTG" cannot be selected).
If I select "System", and then wipe I am concerned I may brick the device because the data partition would still be encrypted. Right?
Obvio u can't wipe. Decrypt it using Windows .

Wish it was that easy... factory reset is the only way to decrypt the HTC One. But factory reset does not work because TWRP doesn't see anything to wipe

Alright, well it all started with my SD card. I thought I'd fix it by putting a rom on my internal SD and flash it.
But without even thinking it was on my internal SD I used the Mega wipe script... Now my phone is empty and Odin won't flash stock rom.

I presume you have a custom recovery installed seeing has you where originally going to flash from internal memory? If you can still boot into recovery have you tried to place a rom on eternal sd card and flash from there..Is there a problem with sd card if so what?
I can think of 3 options:
1) Try to flash again using Odin 3.09- you're using a very old version...
2) If you don't have access to recovery- try to flash Philz with odin
3) Try to find 4-parts rom installation (seperated PDA,Modem,CSC,PIT)- i've never checked, so continue with caution.
Perhaps this might help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187081

Can't you put file on SD card after removing it and then put the ROM file on SD card by SD card reader and then flag through extsdcard..if not then check if proper drivers are installed.. And also try to change USB cable if that works

I was told that using older versions of Odin sometimes work better then the latest versions. Anyway I'd like to thank you all for the informative replies. I managed to fix it by going into CWM recovery and choose "reboot to bootloader" from the advanced menu.
It seemed to have triggered a download mode which allowed me to flash.
And no, my SD wasn't recognized by anything. Not on PC nor recovery.
I was getting the same error using the USB ports on the side of my PC. Make sure your using ports on the motherboard itself.

Have you mounted the cache partition in mount menu on the main screen of twrp?
try doing that, if you still get a bootloop, then perform a clean flash of a rom.

When you boot into TWRP, there will be a button saying "Mount" (just like other buttons like install, wipe etc)
Select that, and tick the boxes saying cache and dalvik and data

Have you tried installing a rom? Flash any custom aosp rom. And tell if that works. Most probably use an sdcard to install it, or copy using mtp

Hi!
I tried to install this rom to this device. I put it into fastboot mode, booted twrp from there, copied the rom zip to the root, and installed without problems. Then I wiped Dalvik and tried to restart the phone, only to boot into twrp again (twrp was already installed I think, this version: 3.7.0_12-RedmiK40Pro+_v6.7_A13). The original system I think was the factory 13.03 Android.
Now the folders on the phone seem different in the twrp browser, and I cannot seem to locate the zip file of the rom to reinstall. Internal storage shows size to be 0M. Maybe this was the mistake, but in an attempt to fix things, I changed the Slot to slot B, which was successful, but only booted into fastboot. Then, when I tried switching back to Slot A again, it gave errors for not being able to mount certain partitions, as seen in this image:

I then tried to copy the rom to a pendrive and install it from there, but it showed a similar error. When connecting the device to the computer, it shows up, but I cannot open it in a file explorer. Unfortunately I did not make any backups beforehand. Do you think there is a chance of bringing this device back to life again? It was given to me with instructions, because I'm a "computer person" and I thought it would be an easy process as I have done this my phones many times without problem. What could be the issue? If you need me to include any logs, or photos of the errors, let me know. I'm really worried that I might have bricked this device. Thank you for your help!
