Moto E 2nd gen which to buy XT1527 or XT1526? - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I want to buy moto e 2nd gen and i am confused which one to go for...
I want to be able to use it with my non us carrier and i want to install custom rom on it... Can i do that with xt 1527? I know xt1528 is useless when it comes to bootloader unlocking so no custom roms but it somehow works with gsm sim cards with some tinkering and AT&T variants can be unlocked to use with different carriers......
And here is this XT1526 Sprint, boost, US cellular all with same model number.... i am confused... which moto e 2nd gen should i buy...?
Please give me your advice...
Regards!!

Awesome. If someone can get the stock modem files this could be a 5.1.1 update (I hope) to NA phones.
Any chance the Canadian ROMs/updates can be applied to US moto E 1527? I know bootloader are locked but we're still talking about a legitimate marshmallow ROM made for the 1527 right ?

The Canadian model has a different region code than the US model (RETCA). In order to flash the Canadian model's ROM, you need to unlock the bootloader, so if it's the AT&T/GoPhone/Cricket model, no. If it's the Moto-direct model or Consumer Cellular model, yes.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Sounds like I'm out of luck. So much for Motorola. It's for the best I suppose, it's not exactly a stable device. Back to apple!

Sprint prepaid Moto E question

Hi all,
Is there any roms I could flash for my Sprint Prepaid XT1526 phone?
Yes. CM13 should work out-of-the-box, other ROMs should work as well but might require flashing the LTE fix posted in the CDMA forum.

Need my cdma unlocked Moto E (2nd gen) to work on all GSM networks... Kinda urgent

I'm out of the country and my moto e phone (lollipop 5.1) is unlocked on CDMA networks, and I need to unlock its GSM capabilities. I've read some guides online and on these forums and either they're outdated, or old files don't exist anymore. (there used to be an app called 'Network' that supposedly served this function but is no longer available).
If anyone can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.!

Will unlocked H830 work on AT&T?

Thinking about the G5 to replace my Moto G (2015). I use the AT&T network via Consumer Cellular. Will the unlocked T-mobile version work on the AT&T network with full LTE support? Will probably install a custom ROM and I understand you can't do that with the AT&T version of the G5. Thanks.

What carriers go to what ROM's?

How can a person tell if a specific ROM will work with the carrier they choose?
Example: I have a Moto E that I want to use on the AT&T network... Which ROM would I choose in order for my phone to work on that system?
Thanks.
