Phone rando self-bricked last night? - T-Mobile LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Last night the phone randomly restarted out of nowhere mid-text message with my friend. It kept restarting in a loop then I pulled the battery and tried it again and I did get the phone going enough to send one text then it crashed again. Now it wont start at all. It's stuck on the bootloader unlocked screen. Help?
I'm running twrp and android 5 from siraltus

Same has happened on 17 of my company v10s.
Should be a recall on these phones. LG knows there is a problem.

You got the curse, I did too, if there's no Phys. damage and you are qualified, you can request an overnight wnty replacement... I just got my second V10, hopefully it wont die on me too until T-Mo gets a decent device for me to jump to...

Same happened to mine..

Did anyone notice seemingly random vibrations before the phone died like that? I keep thinking mine is vibrating for no reason every now and then. Maybe mine will be next to go lol.

Did you just take an update for Superuser? I noticed that when updates for superuser comes out alot of phones get bricked. My lg g4 just did it also so got to use unbrick procedure.

Here is the link for the lg g4 procedure which helped me out.

Mine bricked yesterday 2 weeks out of warranty. 99 dollars for a replacement and about 2 weeks without the phone through square trade. Last LG phone for me. Clearly they know there is a problem. Unfortunately I"m still stuck in my Jump on demand contract with this thing and don't want to jump right now. Maybe to the S8. Mine was vibrating randomly too sometimes although I don't know if that had anything to do with it. Completely stock phone. First phone I haven't rooted in years.

[Q] Stuck in boot

Okay first off I want to say I did look around for other cases of this but couldn't quite find a similar one. On previous occasion my phone dropped the data coverage and I had to do a reboot to reset it no problem. well today it dropped coverage again, no biggie I'm at work Ill put it on the wifi. well it wouldn't do that either. hm thats strange well i'll just do a reboot. After the reboot it wont go past the HTC screen. i can make it into Hboot but nothing in it works, recovery, factory reset, none of it. i bought it from a guy, not verizon so i cant take it to them, they wont cover it, i contacted the guy about a possible warranty on it but waiting to hear back. any ideas? im pretty frustrated at the moment
shiiiiiiiiiiiit. dudde i'm so sorry to hear that, i just saw a guy with this problem at my store yesterday..spent an hour with him, i couldn't get it to factory reset or aynthing we had to get a replacement sent out to him...
when you plug it into the charger, the does orange light come on for like 5 sec, then shut off?

thats the thread i made about it
no it didnt do anything on the charger. and consequently my battery died. luckily i had another one i could use. i finally got it working. found the RUU.exe for it and ran it on it. and it worked. i had to relock the phone to get it to work cause it was unlocked. hadnt been rooted just unlocked. i was worried cause i knew i wasnt really a candidate for a replacement seeing as how i aquired it. ha. but it works now and i think should still be able to do the update to ICS. whenever that happens. ha

Bricked My Phone?

Last night I was able to root my phone flashed the recovery mod and used the overclocked kernel that was listed in the dev forums for my phone. The phone was running fine until I went to bed, this morning I had woke up and went to look at my phone and it was off. Thinking the battery died while I left it unplugged all night I found meh.. might be the reason. Let the phone charge while I was in the shower for about 15 minutes got out and tried to turn the phone on and unable to get a response. Tried to boot the phone to Odin mode with no luck also tried getting my computer to pick up the device with no luck at all. Few questions, is my phone bricked? If so I've only had the phone for 15 days do you think I would have any luck getting the phone replaced at a store? and is there anyway that they would be able to tell that I had rooted my phone flashed recovery and installed a kernel if I cant even get the phone to respond in any way shape or form? Any advice you have or situations where you where in the same boat would be a great help. Thanks again.

Indeed sir, removed the battery let it sit for a minute or two...
According to your post...You are bricked
Samething happend to me..just few days ago but my phone was out of warranty...so I need to pay for ...a board change (I9100) tht was the solution for me not for uh
Now as you said ...if you are fully bricked and you just bought the phone 15 days ago ...then you have still 99.9% chances that they will replace your main board
....
Last year when I bought my phone S2...after some time when I came hyr on xda rooted my phone ...once I bricked ...so I went to samsung care ...and made a story...and bang they taken my phone got my job sheet ...and after 4 days got my phone they changed my main board...
Main topic...they can't check whtr you are rooted...or not if you are bricked fully...so just visit samsung care...and make a fake story...all set just sit back for few days ...

As I had mentioned this morning I woke up and plugged my phone in for a good 15-20 minutes while I took a shower. There after when I looked at my phone it didn't show as if it was even charging most of the time it will at least show a charging logo. I let the phone sit plugged in for about 45 minutes and tried to soft reboot the phone holding volume and power still nothing came of it. Had taken the battery from the phone and put it back in with the same process to no success. I had removed the SIM Card from the phone replaced it back in the device and as soon as I plugged in the phone it showed the phone was charging. From that point I was able to reboot the phone with no issues.
I was worried due to the fact I had flashed the kernel last night and was toying with the settings given in the stweek that came after I flashed the recovery and kernel using the recovery options on reboot. Really don't have an idea as to why I had the issue that I had. But at the end of the day I'm just glad I didn't have to pay for a replacement.

[Q] Hardbrick?

Hallo brothers and sister,
I own a beautiful white Samsung Galaxy S2 since December 2011.
A couple of months ago I flashed my SGS2 to Jellybean Spain(My phone is XEN, Benelux).
Everything went fine, and I didn't screw up while flashing.
But about 2 hours ago, sh*t went down..
My SGS2 suddenly frooze.
Pressing the home button and even pressing the power button didn't recover my SGS2 from the freeze.
So I decided to pull my battery out.
After about 2 seconds, I placed my battery back, but my SGS2 wouldn't reboot.
It was stuck at 'Samsung i9100'.
So I pulled the battery out for the second time.
But this time it wouldn't reboot at all!
It also won't go to download mode.
I've ordered a JIG, but there is a chance it is hardbricked.
Does somebody had/has the same problem?
And does somebody know if my SGS2 is a hard- or softbrick?
Maybe battery is busted, borrow one from a friend or sonething like that.
Phone don't die just like that.

i bricked mine once pulling the battery when it was turning off...
and it ddint wanted to boot up again, had to flash stock from odin and wipe for ti to work again
Does your phone get warm (the screen mostly at the sensors and the back of your phone) when you have your battery inserted?
Yes, it does.
But after a while it stops getting warm, and it starts again when I connect my charger to my phone.

I can't tell you for sure what the problem is but that sort of happened to my phone too, and it was a hardbrick, my emmc chip got f****d. The warranty covered it up so I got it fixed at the shop. And i called Samsung Support Service and they told me that Samsung phone has 2 years warranty so just go to your shop and they should fix it.

[Q] ATT HTC One X Plus Boot Loop- Please Help

Hello Everyone,
I am very new to this and I do not know a lot of terminology of developers so it is quiet hard for me to figure this out on my own.
I got HTC One X Plus in May and I did not root it or anything, just used it normally. I think I made a mistake of not charging it for 24 hours the first time, because my battery drains very quickly, even when I don't play games or use 4G. Yesterday when my battery level was very low, the phone shut off, and turned back on again, but didn't get past the HTC Logo, and a few seconds later it shut off. And since then its been doing just that. I'm suspecting that the battery cannot charge or something, because I tried a hard reset and reboot, recovery, factory reset and everything. I did notice that when I got to the screen with three Androids, a message, that said "battery too low to flash". Now, I know there are lots of posts about this, but they're all about rooted phones or custom ROMS, and I honestly don't understand what they're talking about. I have almost two years with this phone and I can't afford a new one and even though Im still under warranty I can't send it back, because I have a small crack in the glass(not the screen) and apparently ATT warranty will charge you $500 for physical damage. Please help, if you can.

Random shut off and bricked?

I bought a g5 from a wholesaler and I was browsing facebook when the phone froze then restarted and kept freezing on the lg logo on boot up and seemed to try to boot back up but finally turned off and wouldn't boot back up nor charge or anything. Anyone familiar with this?

Before anyone suggest anything. Have you tried ro remove the battery, put the charger part back again without the battery. Then pressand hold the power button for about 20-50 seconds. Then put the battery back in the phone and try to turn it on? Also, have you try to access recovery mode or download mode? And also, can you connect your phone to the computer to see if you can verify that when you connect the phone the computer does detect it?
Joseguillen1994 I didn't have a computer to look this stuff up as I'm not at home or even near a usable computer. I was browsing facebook and then bam it froze then wouldn't power back on.

Is this a common problem with this phone or something? I see very few cases of this so ill just ask now.

It is a very uncommon problem. Among the few peoples who have reported that the phone is bricked is because they flashed something that wasnt meant to be flash in their phones. For instace, a person in xda went ahead to flash something meant to be used only for the h850. Then his phone began to boot and then it wouldnt turn on anymore. But seems like this is not your case. Did you try to remove the battery and all i said?
---------- Post added at 07:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:37 PM ----------
Also, whenever you get near any computer, please connect the LG G5 and see whether the device appears in device manager
I will try that and I've seen a few people report to be using the phone with no problems and then it freezes and will not power back on. So I'm not to sure what's going on here. I did all of that and nothing. I returned to the seller and he swapped me and with this one I get random reboots after the phone freezing for a moment before resetting back to the lg logo and then the AT&T logo before starting back up.

okay. this happened to me with my father's LG G3. i was downloading a gps app to compare signals with another phone i have, not lg branded and i put the lg g3 in my pocket after i tested the app . when i took the phone out of my pocket it was rebooting and even if i did wipe the system, cache and dalvik , and then install the custom rom back again the phone would allow me to install any rom. so, i had an spare battery and i decided to try it as a last resource. when i tried the spare battery it did allow me to install the custom roms again without the need to wipe everything. so, another thing you might want to consider is a defective battery. tomorrow i will try to drain the energy of the battery was causing the issue in the LG g3, then im going to recharge it once again to see if it fix the problem. so, this is another possibility for your problem.
Well here's the thing. When I went to swap with the seller, we tested the battery with the new lg g5. And it powered right on. And what's odd is that when we put it back into the defective g5, wouldn't power on. So powered on one but not the other.

Hahaha thats why i said possibility. In my situation it was the battery for the g3. I assume you already tried to use the phone without installing any user apps, right? By the way. Can you turn on the new one? If you can manage to pass the boot screen, you might go to the power menu and press to boot in safe mode. (just to make sure it isnt any applications)
This has happened to me several times
I have used LG phones for the last 10 months. With my first one, an LG G4, it was just fine for around 7 months, and then I experienced the exact screen-freeze and reboot issue you mentioned. I remove the battery and re-insert it, and it works again. Then, a week later, GONE. Bricked. I call AT&T, and they send me a replacement. This one lasts just over a month, until the exact same issue occurs. Now I'm more than a little miffed. I call AT&T, and they accept my request for a new LG G5. I'm super-excited with this brand new beast in my hands. Three days into my usage, BAM! Screen freeze, reboot, repeat. I'm now into my fourth LG device, this latest one a replacement LG G5 from AT&T. Fingers crossed this one turns out okay!

i have the same here from germany. Suddenly bootloop and no chance to do anything. Can no one help here?
