I want to flash radon kernel on MIUI 8 mm..
On MIUI mm after flashing twrp it's asks for password..may I know how to get rid of it..
And how to boot successfully after..I heard that we have to flash the lazy flasher zip to patch the boot image..please clear my doubts..thanks.
Flash zcx twrp and no need to flash lazyflasher.
Use sdcard to flash anything in TWRP, internal storage is encrypted on MIUI. You will have to format internal storage to use it or just place the file on external sdcard and flash it or you can use adb sideload.
Thanx for reply guys...

This is assuming you have an unlocked bootloader already.

Yes i already unlocked the bootloader nd even flashed twrp once but it asked me for a password to decrypt nd i couldnt flash gapps so i flashed back to dev rom using mi flash tool
I haven't had that issue but try using zcx twrp

You dont need to flash back miui.. just format your internal storage using adb command "fastboot format userdata" thats it. Then flash twrp again using adb. Now boot into twrp &clean flash any custom rom you want. Everything will be ok..
Although you get back to miui. So this video will help you a lot to install twrp. Just follow his fastboot method & use alka recovery instead of official recovery

Wrong place to ask that question, and ans of your questions is just flash miui via fastboot, edl, or custom recovery.
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using Tapatalk
how to go to edl through custom rom directly? i cant use edl command from modified adb file
Admin please move this thread to question and answers.
Search for fastboottoedl on google.Using that you can go to edl mode from fastboot mode.Use miflashtool to flash latest fastboot rom.
Wrong section, but here's how you do it:
Fastboot: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Recovery: download MIUI 8 zip here: Global stable: http://bigota.d.miui.com/V8.1.6.0.MHOMIDI/miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_V8.1.6.0.MHOMIDI_8b2a6cbc26_6.0.zip
Global dev: http://bigota.d.miui.com/7.3.2/miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_7.3.2_061249403d_6.0.zip
Reboot to recovery, wipe dalvik, data, cache. Do not wipe system and internal storage (or which ever place ROM zip is stored). Flash and reboot.

Inside it open firmware packages then delete emmc_boot.mbn file then go to new twrp recovery then flash this modified miui file then go to location of root where you will see a folder flash folder then flash lazy fl
Asher zip then wipe cache and reboot then. Enjoy

first, u must format internal storage, and flash miui rom from sd card or usb.....
I am on Global stable miui 8.2.4 but for some reasons i don't like it and i wanna downgrade to 8.1.15 . I have Twrp installed and rooted . Can i flash recovery 8.1.15 rom using twrp ?
Or i need to flash a fastboot rom using twrp ?
somebody?
I have flashed stock 8.2.4.0 from 8.2.2.0 with flashfire, although I have twrp too. No problems just put the zip in right folder.
Yes you can. I have flashed both dev and stable. @jazzh mentions something about folders. TWRP doesn't really care about that.
Be warned though that flashing the official zip also replaces the recovery and there is a bug with 8.1.15 where you cannot flash TWRP back afterwards.
If you go back to 8.1.15 and want to use TWRP for flashing a custom rom simply use
fastboot boot [recovery name].img
to soft load TWRP and do all your work from there up.
Yes, that's a good advice.
I soft boot twrp whenever performing backup or updating magisk.
I just mentioned folders because flashfire is started from os and it will look into the ota folder and if it finds the zip it will offer rebooting to perform the update.
Hi,this is my first time installing a custom rom and recovery and rooting and all.
I am on MIUI 10 8.11.22 beta on RN3 2gb.
And have unlocked bootloader using official method.
Currently following
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/unlock-bootloader-twrp-root-7-2-3-t3359492
Planning to
flash official twrp-3.3.1-0-kenzo
Install Havoc 9.0 OS https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-havoc-os-t3845305
Install Magisk
but twrp site is showing
This device uses dm-verity!
This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab.

I think it is about boot.img but I do not have patched boot.img of my miui version and also (from above guide) to patch boot.img i need fastboot rom but linkhttps://en.miui.com/a-234.html only takes me to Chinese miui website.
Can any one share link to boot.img of fastboot rom for MIUI 10 8.11.22 beta?
And in Havoc OS post
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-havoc-os-t3845305
do I need custom kernel for 9.0?
In Magisk Post
Prerequisite
If you plan to install custom kernels, flash the zip AFTER installing Magisk
Make sure to remove any ‘boot image mods’ such as other root solutions. The easiest way is to restore the boot image from factory images, or reflash a non-prerooted custom ROM

does that mean i do not need to flash boot.img or do i need to flash it afterwards?
Qustions
1) Do I need boot.img file of my version or any will do?
2)Do I need custom kernel for havoc os 9.0?
3) how to proceed after flashing twrp(need help)?
here what i think i have to do after flasing twrp(correct me If i am wrong)
(do not flash boot .img as installing magisk) -> flash havoc os -> flash magisk->flash custom kernel(which one?)-> (flash boot.img) ->reboot

If u official unlocked using miunlock tool then u dont need any patched boot.img.
Flash latest twrp 3.3.1 kenzo
Download ur favourite rom and nano gapps zip to external sd card.
First go to wipe and do format data.
You must do it or rom wont boot.
So click Format data
Type Yes to format
This will decrypt and erase internal sd.
Then Swipe to "factory reset"
Then Go to install
Flash rom zip
Flash nano gapps.zip
Then Reboot and enjoy

Thanks for the tip. Currently on havoc os . Installation went smoothly
I'm currently using an unoffical build of twrp
Yes it work but u have to flash n boot in twrp at the same time n then flash disable encryption zip bcz miui will encrypt twrp n change it to stock recovery so it's necessary to flash disable force encryption zip

how to flash recovery in twrp?
flash the zip file like you would a ROM file if it's a zip. If vits an IMG file then tap image file in the bottom right corner when selecting the file to flash...
Go to reboot section and reboot recovery...
I flash Magisk after and that stops the stock recovery from overwriting TWRP...
