Seeing as there isn't a General Section for the G5 - LG G5 Questions & Answers

I would just like to wish everyone here on XDA a very merry Christmas and a wish of a great festive time to all!
Regardless of race or location, hopefully we can all take some time out from the daily grind and commitments of life and briefly forget everything else that goes on in our lives and enjoy some well earned "me/family time".
Peace out to you all! Have a great time.

rom is coming when its ready. u guys just keep making me laugh with all this stuff
but i do agree it should stop with all that sh*t
Irus,
Obviously, you have not experienced being a member of another WiMo forum. The impatience and so called stupidity shown here is nothing compared to those experienced by Jiggs in the Atom forum. Hats off to Jiggs for being soooooo patient with noobies, overly arrogant and just plain stupid people.
Look at the bright side, if the AP team is enjoying and finding amusement in the "stupid post" then who are any one of us to complain.
This is a forum. Unless democracy is dead, then everyone has the right to post stupid opinions or to simply act like a kid. There is no rules here citing anything contrary to this.
Of all those posting here, only a handful of you are complaining against stupid posts. Maybe everyone not just you need to stop complaining and try to loosen up. Live life and enjoy. Act like a kid once in a while. It will make you fell young again.

BAZ LUHRMANN, Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)
Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99…Wear Sunscreen
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The
long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the
rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering
experience…I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust
me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you
can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you
really looked….You’re not as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective
as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles
in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the
kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you
Sing
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are
reckless with yours.
Floss
Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re
behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in
doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the
most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with
their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds know still don’t.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe you
won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on
your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself
too much or berate yourself either - your choices are half chance, so are
everybody else’s. Enjoy your body, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of
it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever
own..
Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people
most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you should hold
on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography in lifestyle because the older
you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in
Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will
philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when
you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children
respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe
you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.
Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time it’s 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from
the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and it for more than
it’s worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen…
i love that song
I love that song too. And I hope the forum will come alive again tonight. But posting a complete song lyrics on a forum?
yeah, i fancy another night of talking ranodmly about nothing to do with ap4, just because were all united in one thing, waiting for ap4

It's indeed utterly useless but hey we need something to pass the time...

Do you believe this topic is a SERIOUS topic? Stop the stupid ap 4.0 posts? Semi official 4.0..?, Non official 4.0?
This isn't a SONG, is a LESSON I am not SINGING, no MUSIC, no *.mp3 attachments. Someone could learn, others just listen, but I believe that there is more to learn in those worlds about what's going on here, than in the 80% of the messages posted in the Athena mobile 6 3d in the last week
And IMHO it answers to many questions too!
yerp... i absolutely love that song... think of it this way, in the last week, us lot in the athena forum who are normally quiet people have all posted loads... but its still probably a tenth of the number of posts per day in the kaiser forum, and their phone is crippled.
but in all seriousness, does it matter if we are having a bit of a joke while were all pressing refresh every 5 minutes waiting for pawel to post some more info about the rom. Its better than sitting pressing f5, and not doing anything else lol
Rory
hehe nice to see a great mood here. im actually side testing 19202 to see if theres less problems with it then with 19181. so far the answer seems yes. i dont think u would mind me spending a extra day to get u all the absolute latest build right?
is that an extra day, so it would be released tonight, and the alternative tomorrow..... or is it an extra day over the already unknown release date?
either way, i dont mind

One problem with wanting us to have the latest build (and sure we want it though). There's allways tomorrow that brings an even newer build. Please don't keep us waiting on that...
well i have no new test roms so that means theres no new build yet. i think i can say with confidence this time that the rom will be out within the next week. we just need to properly test the new 19202 build for 48 hrs and fix any bugs.

To all the devs here on XDA

I want to publicly thank all of you here on XDA (and some I know are on sdx as well) for your contribution to the rest of us users who lack the talent and downright genius to do what you do. Although some of us are sharp, and know a little bit, you are the 1% of us who have the ability take that idea and design and morph it into a theme or self operating system.
Thank you again. And thank you for being teachers as well! I have learned more in the past 6 months about computers and electronics and Linux than I have in my life being around them.

+one million. the people here are so helpful. i try to be as helpful as i can, but nobody can compare to the people who spend hours on end on roms and mods.
Yes thanks to all the devs and themers!
Cant belive how much dev support we have.
I knew I picked the right phone.
EVO 3D!!
It's good to see threads like this in the morning instead of *****ing, complaining, or topics not related to the Evo 3D.
Thanks man. I take that to the heart...

Agreed×10.
I'm pretty much in awe over how much you can learn here in such a short period of time. The raw knowledge that is available here collectively is absolutely amazing.

Thanks cobra. I do it for the love of the game!(that's why I got rid of my donate button) When toast was a little whipper snapper and I was teaching him about thingamabobs, I remember him saying "Chef, thanks! I'm going to make a dope ass build of cm7 for the evo 3d". Off to the dev section toast! And ignore the ahole trolls!
I also want to thank the devs (whether or not most of them were under my wing at one point or another). You ALL make my phone a ton of fun. I've learned a ton of cool stuff from the devs and users here at xda.
Back to helping toast get the 3d wiring in the thingamagig.

I rarely post but I just wanted to agree with the subject of this thread and the posts in it so far. I've learned so much about Android, adb, etc. since I got my first Evo a little over a year ago. Being able to mod and flash our phones is something I'm sure a lot of us, I know I do, take for granted at times, but is something that wouldn't be available to most without the great Devs here. So I just wanted to say Thanks for making my phones better each and every day.

Well said. And ditto with learning so much since my og Evo. The nook color taught me a few tricks also.
Rootyourdroid.net. My nephews blog.
Your post is excellent. Behind the scenes of any mod, rom and theme is began with a idea to make it different and or better. And the developers are volunteers that help all of us out. They contribute knowledge that when applied let's us get s-off, root, better roms, better performing devices. Countless of hours go to any one single item they put out..and in some instances...many man years, all mostly for free. Time spent away from friends, family job, and other obligation in lives. Some are good, some are bad but all deserve a big THANK YOU.
Good post. It brightens up the forums a little bit.
good post man.. it is important that we continue to show love to the community, this place has turned into such crapfest recently.. and its good to see people posting positive material; devs, chefs and themers need to know that we appreciate their work so that they will continue to press on.. its hard to find the passion to make something when everywhere you turn is some douchebag talking crap about what he doesnt even know..
and many thanks to all of the people who have helped me in my time here, to help me accomplish the things that i can do today.. i wouldnt have thought i would be able to do half of the things that i can do now.. back in my heroC days learning about kernels from decad3nce and s0be, rom building from aosp, and themeing from thoughtlesskyle.. and many many others.. thanks a ton, and heres to a better community.. *cheers*

Sorry everyone

A single member messaged me and made me feel so much better. Still stopping development until next week but, now its just to take time for myself and my family. thanks (you should know who you are.)
Dude don't worry. Take your time off and get everything a-ok.
Everyone already is highly appreciative of all the hard work you have put in and thanks you for your efforts. You are all kinds of awesome for the dev efforts you have put in on this new and tricky device.
So thank you and hope to see you again soon. (And btw, thanks to all the other devs who have put in such awesome effort on the NT )
I love you nick, despite what others say about you I think ur cool
Indirect,
I wish you solace from whatever is hurting you. I'm a noob who has been combing this forum for a solid week in anticipation of getting a nook tablet. I can see that you make great contributions here (and I'm sure elsewhere). Thank you for everything you and the other devs do. Hope things get better soon.
Women always stifling progress. lol.
It’s always a shame when one loses a long-time companion and friend. But in life, one door closes and another one opens.
Here are some unpublished country western songs to amuse you while you both recover.
“I hate every bone in her body but mine.”
“It’s hard to kiss the lips at night that chewed my ass out all day long.”
“If I can’t be #1 in your life, then #2 on you.”
“If the phone don’t ring, you’ll know it’s me.”
“I still miss you baby but my aim is getting better.”
“I’m so miserable without you that it’s like you’re still here.”
“If I’d shot you when I wanted to, I’d be out of prison by now.”
“She got the ring and I got the finger.”
“You’re the reason our kids are so ugly.”
“While I was out getting hammered, she was home getting nailed.”
“She left me and took the dog. Boy I sure do miss him.”
Don't worry about it dude, things'll pass and you'll be OK. Thanks for all your work, it's much appreciated.

What? On the 23rd? Right before Christmas? That's terribly heartless of the other person. So sorry
Take time off, Indirect! *shakes fist and disconnects Indirect's neural-net interface* And eat lots of pie.
Sorry to hear about your situation! Best wishes, and thanks so much for all you do!
Don't be sorry
Dude, you've done so much for this community. Your real life has to come first. Get your head straight then come on back.
I volunteer for four different groups right now. If I didn't have the option of holding out the yellow flag on the field every now and then when life got tough, I woulda quit them all and moved to Montana a long time ago.
Dude, it's all good. Take time for yourself and know that you are appreciated here for all the work you have done.
Take your time man and heal, thanks for all the hard work you've put into helping us noobs And as someone already said earlier - one door closes and another one opens - completely true!
It may suck but it is very understandable that you need a break.
It's very important to have balance in your life, My real life is in management and all the crap that goes along with it, then toss in a bunch of women bull****. Personally I use XDA as my own personal escape(as a user not a dev that's a whole different ballgame).
To me it's a whole different world devoid of the crap that the real world has, filled with amazing things that are only a flash away.
A single member messaged me and made me feel so much better. Still stopping development until next week but, now its just to take time for myself and my family. thanks (you should know who you are.)
Have a wonderful Christmas
Take the time you need we'll all still be here when ya get back :}
Merry Christmas!
Family is more important than everything else, thats a fact. Take your time, clear your head, we will be here when you come back, thats for sure!
Thank you so much for all you do for the community.
Not sure what happened, but everyone is right. You are well within your rights for a break. Thanks for all your hard work, man.
Its times like these I like to repeat a quote I heard a long time ago:
"Never take life too seriously, nobody ever gets out alive.."
Hope whatever it is that ales you goes away quickly. This time of the year has always been hard on me as I've lost several loved ones. It still hurts but I've had to just learn to deal with it. I also just had my new daughter just arrive on Wednesday so good things come as well.
I hope you get a chance to forget about us, your problems, and just enjoy the spirit of the time of year. Have fun!

Merry Christmas fellow android lovers

I know its not a question, but would like to just say thanks to everyone in this misfit forum for making our phone a better device. Just shows what can happen when people work together. I know I've learned alot about android in the last 10 months & thank you guys for all your help along the way. Let's hope the New Year brings us new possibilities for this misfit of a phone....THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE..MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!
This happens to be my very first post on XDA. I'm one of those silent followers, reading, re-reading, scratching my head, pulling my hair, but smiling in the end bc of you Devs. I went back to stock last night to flash 2.3.5 and it kept saying error "build.prop & verification blah blah". I'm freaking out. Since I'm on vacation, I tether my phone for internet (throttled, of course, bc I've been downloading as much as a middle school boy with the parents out). I spend forever loading pages, too stubborn to ask a question and too afraid of the "dude, have you ever heard of the search feature?" Yes, mister, I have read about that feature. But I deleted it and need you to send me a link So, it's Christmas Eve and I'm sitting in a Chinese restaurant enveloped in a sea of S. Florida Jews that my sister loves to talk with every year. We're the only Catholics in the room, but she feels right at home. Idk. It may have been Moses working, but I realized I was on 2.3.3. Huzzah! As soon as we got back I immediately satiated my flash fix. Thanks Ace for the nandroid. X-mas came early. Thanks everyone for your help. I've learned so much for my first smart phone bc of XDA and y'all. I really fear ppl are going to be moving on soon. I fear that a lot. I don't know how ppl can go through phones like it's an accessory. I got my phone on August 6th and am sticking with this to at least my 2 year update. Don't worry. I foresee our unlock is near.
Sorry for the long post, if you made it this far. My next ones won't be this bad.
Big thanks to DEVS and...Ashlepedia. I categorize you, Ash, with the Devs bc of the amount of work you put in to this forum. I rooted around the same time you did and it's been great watching how much you've learned. I'll get whatever phone you get next.
Happy holidays, everyone from Old Testament to New to none.
Gtg to run to bed so Nicolas doesn't get mad. I heard he's brining me an Otterbox this year.

Festivus in a Bizarro World: Airing of Appreciation

Tonight I happen to be visiting Bizzaro World and we are celebrating Festivus. Part of the festivities includes airing appreciation, unlike on Earth where we would be airing grievances.
So today I would like to air my appreciation for the developers who have made this phone fantastic and the members here who are helpful and supportive of others.
If you happen to be on Earth you can still partake in the festivities, please post your appreciation. And don't think you can pin me down in the Feats of Strength, I'll kick you in the balls and claim victory as you scream in pain on the floor :good:
I appreciate our devs, rom builders, anyone who here who has helped me or others with our device, and all of you on the DNA forum for making this a wonderful little community. While I'm at it, I also appreciate my friends and family, my teachers, and AA.
Oh... And I pins yoo in the feats of strength.
