My watch won't stop saying "please charge the watch to update" - Asus ZenWatch 2

I charged my watch to 100% and left it on the charger while it was updating, but when it got down to 60% it popped up with the same message again.

my guess is you had multiple updates

Mine is doing the same thing. After several times of updating it is still doing it...even with a 100 percent charge! Any other ideas?

I am having the same issue, and am frustrated that I am not able to find a FIX for this.
I am thinking on returning the smartwatch due to this issue.

Just got the Asus Zenwatch 2 and its now updating for the 6th time. Anyone find any solutions?

[Q] Battery displays 0% even after full charge

Hello,
I tried searching for this issue but came up with nothing. I have an issue with my new TF201 where the battery shows 0% several times a day even though there is still power. As a result, it tells me to "Connect to charger". I know there is power because I continue using the prime without charging and eventually, the battery usage shows the correct charge at 85% or something. The issue repeats throughout the day.
I am pretty sure this is a software bug but I cannot find a dedicated thread to this issue. Is this a known issue? If so, can you forward me to the official thread to it?
Thanks.

I actually had the same exact problem. I feel like it has something to do with the battery sensor or something. Anyways, mine eventually stay at 0% and I could no longer charge the device or do firmware updates. Anyways, I have sent my to ASUS for repairs and hopefully all will be dandy afterwards. Good luck with yours.
I got this on my evo 3d after installing a superalpha ics rom and a superalpha kernel. I think its software.
Sent from my tablet thing with XDA Premium.
I hate to bump this thread, but did you resolve this OP? My Prime started doing it too. Rebooting, powering off for a few hours, even leaving it with the screen on till it completely drains itself didn't help.
Everything says battery status is unknown, when I have the keyboard dock connected it usually will show the percentage remaining on that, but it seems to occasionally just jump to a lower percentage throughout the day, rather than slowly sink as it tops off the main battery.
I hope it isn't hardware, my Prime has been great otherwise, I'd hate to have to send it in.
I can't embed the pics due to my low post count, but I attached two screen shots. Any ideas? I'm not rooted, running update 21.
Just an update, I accidentally dropped my tablet last night as it slid off my motorcycle seat while I was putting my helmet on, when I picked it up the battery gauge started working again.
And to repeat an age old saying, if it ain't broken don't fix it

I don't mean to bump the thread, I just wanted to post an update in case anyone with a similar issue finds this thread. After my last post, my Prime worked fine for a few weeks, it would randomly switch between the battery gauge working and not working, then one day the tablet died like it was out of juice. I'm not sure what happened, but the only way the tablet would still work was if I plugged it into the wall power outlet, and the moment it was unplugged it would die. I couldn't even use my keyboard dock, as it would start booting, then right before it finishes booting it would shut off like it stops accepting power from the dock for a moment.
I ended up contacting Asus, they issued me an RMA, and about 2 weeks later (most of that shipping back and forth), I had received my Prime, but repaired good as new. The paperwork was vague, so I don't know the actual cause of the issue or what was repaired, but it has been flawless since I got it back. I personally suspect the connector for the battery came loose, and based on how rough I was that day would determine how seated the connector was, until it came totally out.

Gen 8 Archos 101: Killed After Official Firmware Update?

Two days ago, I noticed that there was a firmware update for my Archos 101 while at work. I had my Archos with me but not the AC adapter; the tablet requires the user to plug it in before getting started. I paid a visit to Archos' website and downloaded the update file to my laptop instead, double-checking how to install it. Note that I don't have Internet access at home.
Recently, said tablet had been locking up extremely frequently, and without obvious reason or even any real pattern. I even tried a total device reset (wipe the internal user storage and reset the Android partition back to factory defaults) and it didn't help. I was fearing that the firmware had gotten corrupted, and figured that updating would help fix that.
When I got home that night, though, I was dead tired. I made a mental note to update using the offline method in the morning, although I did have the presence of mind to plug it in and get the battery charged. In the morning, I did as the instructions on Archos's website said: mount the device via USB and transfer the firmware update to the root of the user storage area. Unmount, let it detect it, and give it the okay. Simple enough. I hung around the house long enough to watch for an "update okay!" message, then bolted out the door so I'd make it to work on time.
I didn't return home until about 9 PM. After settling in, I picked up my tablet to check on it and see if the update did the trick. Nope! It froze again before I could even launch an app. Frustrated, I put it back down and held the power button to force a reset. When the screen powered off, I walked away to check on something.
I returned to find that the tablet's green power light (which is normally steady on) was blinking rapidly. As in 20 blinks as second or so. The screen was flickering on for less than a second at a time in roughly one-minute intervals. And - most alarmingly - the unit was HOT. I tried to pick it up and burned my hand a little on the metal backplate.
After some back-and-forth texting with a friend for advice, I ultimately opened up the tablet in an attempt to disconnect the batteries. Turned out that they're soldered to the board, though, so I left the tablet open to give the hot components a chance to cool. I'm hoping that the batteries drain quickly.
I basically have no idea if the tablet can be fixed, and if so, I'm scratching my head over how. Anyone here have any ideas?

[Q] Not charging but works when plugged in

So here's my issue. I'm sure this is on here somewhere but I can't find it. I've seen threads somewhat like my issue but not quite the same. My Prime will only work when it's plugged in. When it's plugged in I have the battery icon showing an exclamation point with 0 percent charge. It does not show it is charging. When checking in status of the battery it says 0 percent. STATUS UNKNOWN. I've tried restarting multiple times. I can't so a cold restart with the power and volume buttons, presumably due to the dead battery. The restart button does not fix it. I've tried multiple chargers. I'm out of ideas.
My warranty was up a couple months ago. I contacted ASUS who stated I would have to pay 88 dollars if it needed a battery replacement, not counting the shipping. I tried telling them I had to return two transformers for charging problems, not primes. My wife's ASUS laptop also has a dead battery. I told them I was going to build a new PC with ASUS parts (wanted the Maximize VI board and 780 video card) but told them there was no way with this kind of service and record. They blew me off and said I'd still have to pay.
So no more ASUS for me, which sucks. What I need to know is this: is there a fix for this Prime? I'd hope its a software issue. I love my Prime and would rather not use it as a paperweight. Anybody got anything?
BUMP
Also, I did a factory reset and it read 100 percent. Couple hours later it again read 0 percent and stated battery status unknown. So I tried using it with it unplugged, and it worked fine, even with it's supposed zero percent charge. Would rooting it and putting a MOD on fix this, I wonder?

Weird but frustrating issues

Ok so here's my frustrating problem I'm having with the best phone I ever had up to about a month and a half ago. I used this phone and it was in great shape, never damaged it or plugged in any other USB cable that wasn't Samsung. So after about 4 months, one day I kept getting pop ups about my phone being docked when it wasn't and then it would bring up gear vr randomly, neither of which have ever been used in this phone, I don't have the dock or vr. After that, my phone wouldn't be recognized by my computer and the computer read that the device malfunctioned and it couldn't connect to it. After that, it started taking hours to charge, 5-6 hours just to get to 100%. It will lose charge if I'm using it while it's charging. If anyone knows ANY way to help me, please help me out. Or if anything, help me find the issue. Thanks ahead of time

Battery indicator stuck at 92%

Hello guys,
Had my Moto 360 2015 since x-mas 2015.
Thursday last, I was trying to force the update to AW2.0 through the green checkmark, and finally got an update. Pressed "Yes" to proceed and noticed the watch rebooted into recovery. I was going to bed, so I decided to let it continue and check back in the morning.
The next morning, I found my watch rebooted and still on AW1.5, but now the battery indicator is stuck at 92%. Whatever I do, the watch always says 92%, from the moment I take it off its charger to the moment it dies. The watch works perfectly besides that. But I'm worried about the battery, since the watch does not "respond" to low battery states.
The Wear app on my phone reports the same thing, 92%, constant...
What I tried so far:
1 - Rebooting the watch again
2 - Factory reset from watch interface
3 - Factory reset from Wear app on phone
4 - Factory reset from recovery
5 - Let the watch die by itself and recharge it to full again.
No change.
Now the AW2.0 update passed, and I noticed that it did not go into recovery this time. I thought maybe the update would fix things, but no dice. Still 92%.
Tried all steps outlined before in AW 2.0, save the recovery one. I'm unable to do anything in recovery, since the only thing that seems to be functional is the hardware button. I'm unable to swipe up/down to select options.
I have contacted Lenovo Support, and they told me there are no other troubleshooting steps after what I already did, and my watch is out of warranty, at which point they offered to evaluate the watch for 35$. The CC card I used to buy the thing has warranty extension, but before going through them, I'm looking for somebody that maybe experiences the same thing as I am.
Now, either the fuel gauge IC got stuck/fried somehow and is always reporting the same thing, or something happened to the bootloader during the first "update" that broke something. I'm betting on the latter for now. I've looked for instructions to do a complete wipe, that is, including recovery to reflash the whole thing, but got nothing interesting. No USB port does not help either, and I don't have the sklls to JTAG the thing, if it's even possible.
Anybody would have suggestions?
I have this exact same problem. Any solutions?
Usually on mobile phones this can be fixed through a custom recovery "resetting" the battery stats. Anyone knows if something like this is possible? No usb port might be the reason I cant find any methods for this...
Hi guys, I have the same issue, stuck at 70 %. Did you find any solution ?
