I have had the phone for close to a year now so it's still covered under warranty. For the last 2 months you can barely hear during phone calls unless i use speakerphone or a headset.
So my question is will Sony cover it under warranty? If they reject it will be about a month before i get the Phone back and i will be changed 350 sek for the return.
Edit: the phone has never been rooted or had the bootloader unlocked

Hello, I have a US tmobile HD2. I picked it up used, heard the new voicemail notification chime when I put my sim in... everything seemed fine, gave him the money and went back to work
playing with it, decided I wanted to watch a youtube video and the sound stopped. I did a hard reset, still no sound. I can talk on the phone, but the big speaker doesn't work for some reason.
The warranty it seems isn't valid unless submitted through him, I asked the guy if I could convince him to try to send in. In case that is a no-go, it's out of pocket for HTC unless its an easy fix for me.
What I do know, it detects when I plug in and remove an external speaker. Sound works through an external speaker. Every volume setting I can find is at maximum.
Does anyone have any suggestions, if its just the speaker, can I find a replacement? Any guess what it would cost for the pros to look at it? I saw the disassembly video and it looks right under the cover. Also, would anyone know a good way to test the speaker itself?
it is still under manufacturers warranty, speak to t mo, if they wont help, speak to htc.
warranty is bound to the original phone service it was sold to (previous owner), so the only way to get tmo to fix or replace it would be through him. I asked him, 50/50 chance he goes for it.
tmo gave me the htc number, i may try that next, just afraid I will have to shell out a wad of cash that will exceed the price of a new phone.
Thats retailer warranty, all electrical manufacturers must provide a 1 year warranty at minimum, regardless of the retailer, so yea, get on to htc.
OK so this is my second Z2 which was sent to me after SBE Ltd (Sony's repair partner for Three UK) lost my 1st Z2 after I sent it to them for the repair of the above error. I own both the noise cancelling headphones & STM10 microphone and after using them for a couple of weeks, they fail. They first of all stop being recognised, then on the right side of the sound/recording there is a repetitive click and no noise cancellation at all. Both phones were not immersed in water, both phones have never been rooted, as such both phones are stock. In the case of the 1st one it ran .52 this unlocked version (ex-review unit!) Runs .314 yet both have failed in exactly the same way. I was recording my girlfriends grandma's 90th birthday in 4K for future generations and guess what, click click click all over the audio. This phone is so annoying. Anyone have any ideas wtf is going on? I've tried factory reset/software repair and nothing works. I'm loath to send it back to have the same **** happen again. Thanks in advance.

I dont think there is a fix for faulty hardware you may have to send it back or just switch to another xperia, Z2 has some problems and non faulty units are slowly becoming more common, not very fast but slowly.
I had a simular issue where when i sent the Z2 to the repair centre the phone wss stolen from the postal company, eventualy sony sent me a unit that was checked for not being faulty simply because i told them so
I dont know how sony can mess up 1 phone so bad yet the rest never faced a manufacuring error
Lol new stuffs always break

I got the same click sound when I plugged regular headphones in after having had the phone immersed in water. I believe its the phone trying to determine what is plugged in to the port. Mine would plat for 5 secs with a quiet clicking then stop. I repeated it a few times and the problem reoccurred . After i let the port dry out completely there were no further problems.
Never been in water, so not water related.
So for a little while I have been having issues with Bluetooth cutting out briefly. I have a few dings in my device that I have had since new. Nothing major just on the corner of the device from a drop but nothing wrong with the screen.
I called t-mobile to get it replaced due to the Bluetooth problems.
The replacement seems to have the same problem and it is a refurbished phone. Has 388 charger plugs vs mine at over 1200. It does look okay overall but I don't know if it is worth keeping or should I just keep mine.
Does anyone have opinion on the quality of the replacement devices issued by T-Mobile? Do you think I would be likely to have other problems with the refurbished device over the one I have had since new?
My wife had to get hers replaced 1 month after getting it due to crackling sounds during calls. The replacement phone only had 1 issue, being the USB cover gasket was damaged. We didn't bother to have it fixed/replaced because of the run-around we got with customer service saying they never received the defective phone however we was never charged for it. My phone (S5 as well) has had Bluetooth issues from day 1, but I can live with it. My problem is streaming music to my car I would get studder/hickups a lot, and the call volume never seemed right or overpowered.
As far as the charger connect, my wife's phone had a high number of charger connects and her works just fine.
Every refurbish I have ever had from any carrier was 90 percent garbage. Just my experiences. However, now that Knox is like ruling us with warranty exchanges, I really expect warranty replacement devices to be next to or equal to a brand new device. Refurbished replacements are pathetic lol.
Yeah that was what I was thinking too. Most I suspect would not be tripped and I'm sure T-Mobile has a third party company fix them and not Samsung.
My phone got water damaged 2 weeks ago when I took it out onto the sea. Apparently waterproof doesn't apply to saltwater.
Since that incident my phone has become usable but there are still problems
-the front facing camera doesnt work at all
- the speaker and microphone rarely works. Sometimes the only way for some one to hear my voice is if I'm using the Sony earphones.
- speaking of the Sony earphones, sometimes when I plug them in music plays through the speakers (when it works it annoys)
- turning on noise cancelling emits a horrible sound in the Earphones that can actually be heard by ppl who call me
-vibration no longer works
-the volume button goes berserk sometime, and keeps acting like I'm holding volume down. And if I restart the phone it reboots in safe mode.
- the display now has a holo mark as evidence of the water damage but it's small and I consider this one of the least of damages.
What should I do? I got my like in mid March so it still has warranty. Do you guys think Sony will repair all the other damages under warranty? Or should I send my phone to a 3rd party repair service. I'm looking at quick repair and they seem good, but I'm open to suggestions.
Go and see if your warrenty covers water damage due to a faulty device, if not then you may have to pay sony repair center to fix your device
Sony says their warranty applies to defects and not damage so I guess I will have to send it of to them and see what they say. Thanks for your help.
I had the gear for 7 months now no problem with it. When my battery candle broke I went to get it replaced. Guess what they don't cover it. I have to send my watch and all back to samsung to get a replacement. So this is my last gear device until they change the way they call things warranty and accessories.

I'm confused. It sounds like you did get a warranty replacement from Samsung. So, what is the problem with warranty again?
Here's my view. The charging cradle design wasn't well thought through. Each time it's attached to the watch stress is applied to both the tabs on the cradle and receiving points on the watch itself. Clearly some folks here have had problems. While all claim "they babied it" some of the pictures people have posted show their Gear pretty beat up having nothing to do with the cradle. I'm hoping I'll avoid the problem but if I don't I'll try and get it replaced under warranty. If I can't, I'll be out $30.
Until some other device can do this I'm not giving up my Gear no matter how many charging cradles I have to buy.
I dont see the problem either!!! Scary topic. But dont get mad at me, but i think since u will get a new watch there is nothing here to wine about!!!! And in worst case get a new cradle from eBay for 7 bucks.. Beside even regular chargers do brake. Nothing is perfekt, not even the user/owner either.

Exactly. I think OP is having a warranty problem with his carrier, T-Mobile, if I guessed right. He bought the watch from carrier (the only way in US). And carrier provides first line of warranty service, not Samsung. If I read it correctly, he got rejected by T-Mobile warranty service but Samsung did get him a replacement. So, in other words, the warranty service that he needs to complain about is T-Mobile (which is why it ranked #3 in recently survey of customer service), not Samsung although Samsung should take the blame for bad design but that is really not news.
