Google Keyboard - Do you also have that issue? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am wondering if you also have that problem:
When I write something into a textbox (say for example google search) and then press <- to delete what i've written character by character, that damn GBoard cursor always jumps over my last character.
Say for example I've written
Developer| and then press <-- the cursor jumps over the r and deletes the e, like
Develop|r
Then I press <- repeatedly and get only
|r
And this r is super hard to delete, it needs multiple tries because the cursor keeps jumping over it.
r| <-
|r
*fck*
What is this? Bug or feature?

[Q] Cootek Chinese Keyboard Problem

Can anyone at here help me with this problem? I'm new at here. This is the problem, before today, I can type chinese without problems until just now when I type, the typing box (when you press on the space to type, then the keyboard will just pop up for you to type) will automatically close when I press any key on the keyboard. This problem only happens when I type chinese words with PinYin, I can type english words without any problem. As example, the keyboard pop out then I want to type 哈 in it, then when I press the first PinYin of 哈, which is h, then the keyboard will automatically close and nothing shows at the blank space, then I'll press the blank space again, the keyboard pops out for me to type, then when I press anyone of the words on the keyboard, it closes again. This happens over and over again. Anyone can solve this please? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

[Q] Remap bluetooth keyboard keys

I have the zaggfolio case and keyboard. I was wondering is there anyway to edit the functions of the keyboard. For example: change the ctrl key to a shortcut for my browser or if i long press the home but recents will show. thanks
Bumping you because I want to do the same thing for the opposite reason: My keyboard Esc key is interpreted as a local 'Back' press, and Ctrl goes I don't know where. I want it to stop modifying these keys and send them through ConnectBot instead.

removing accented keys from keyboard

So I'm not sure if this is a possibility but I was curious if there's a way to remove all the accented letters that appear when you long press on a letter?
I usually long press certain keys to get commas, question marks, etc, and on certain keyboards (depending on the rom) it seems they've more recently started including all the accented keys and I have swipe to the punctuation I want, instead of just long pressing. This may seem trivial (mostly because it is!) but it's just a personal preference and I'd like to see if it was possible.

[Q] Samsung keyboard, voice recognition button stuck

In my Sgs3 I used to have a coma selected as a default function for a button on the left side of a spacebar. Generally if you hold that button and select a function you want from a popup menu, it used to be that button selected function until you changed it. Now, for some reason, few days ago my samsung decided it will be a microphone button regardless of what I use in a popup menu. It drives me crazy, because I dont use voice recognition. I use comas quite often on the other hand. I would love to know what caused this sudden change of hearts. Ideas anzone_

Samsung Keyboard Cover (and any external keyboard)

I've noticed that the keyboard cover (and any external keyboard actually) does not use the shift key to create a capital letter. I recall that this was not a problem before, and I'm seeing it on all my Android devices.
How are you all resolving this?
OK, I've figured this out, and I'm typing on the keyboard cover now, and shift for capitals are working as expected.
What I did:
I looked into the input settings, and found the shortcut keys. Discovered [Meta] + [space] is the option to switch keyboards. I assumed [meta] was the search button. When I hit that combination, I saw a "Samsusng" toast pop up, and upon testing in my apps again, lo and behold, shift capitalized my letters.
Thanks for watching!
