So I've finally managed to install a CWM recovery for my spreadtrum phone. Went on to do my first nandroid backup but I noticed near the end of the procedure it said sd-ext partition not found sd-ext not backed up (something to that effect). I know I have an sd-ext partition because I am using link2sd (using fat32 for partitions). My question is what will happen in the event I restore that backup? Will the linked apps in the sd-ext partition need reinstall? Is there any potential problem that may occur if I restore? Thanks in advance.
Hi (sorry for my bad english),
I've make a backup with CWM Recovery but this backup was copied to internal memory (default).
In middle of backup, a message say : not enoug memory !
Now, when I started smartphone, the internal memory is full and I don't find where is the bad backup.
The phone is rooted and I search with a root file manager but I don't find file or repertory with there keywords : "backup" or "recovery" or "clockworkmod"
Please help me to find the wrong backup for delete it !
Thank you :good:
It must be in "clockworkmod" directory in root of your internal memory.
Anyway, maybe you should switch to TWRP it has better options like selecting storage.
Thank you -z3r0- but as I said, I don't find it in the root.
I think it's because the backup was incomplete... but where are the bad files ?
I must know the name of this files for erase it.
Resolved after factory reset...
hi i recently updated from twrp 2.7.1 to 3.0.0 twrp recovery on my xt1022. although i am getting some new options in this version when trying to make nandroid backup.
i am getting these partitions option :
system
data
cache
boot
firmware
efs
i know about all the partitions except firmware. what is that partition there for? should i take its backup too with a normal recovery ? whats its function? also the data partition is very big than before. does it take backup of all the app data on external sd too?
please help any help would be appreciated
Hey guys I accidentally wiped some stuff in TWRP and now I need a backup that I do not have, so if someone can backup CUST, DATA ( excl. storage ), OEMINFO, PRODUCT, PRELOAD, PRELOAD IMAGE, VERSION, ODM via TWRP and upload it to AFH or Mega I would be grateful.
Thanks in advance.
Got it solved using this method - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...-to-update-huawei-mate-20-pro-locked-t3897480
I know this should be pretty basic, but I've found some conflicting information online. I'm running crDroid at the moment and I'd like to make a perfect backup that will restore the entire system, apps, and app data as it was at the time of backup.
TWRP offers me 14 partition options for backup:
Spoiler: Partitions
Data (excl. storage)
Cache
System
System Ext
Vendor
Boot
EFS
Android Secure
Modem
Persist
Recovery
Internal storage
System Image
Vendor Image
If I understand right based on the TWRP FAQ, then backing up "System Image" and "Vendor Image" should be what I need. Have I got that right?
You are right System Image and Vendor Image, but also add Data and for kernel add Boot and Dtbo.
Those partitions need to be recovered to get your old ROM back.
Once you should backup EFS which contains IMEI and also Persist if the recovery supports it.
EFS and Persist should only be recovered when you really need to.
Happy flashing.
