Hello everyone,
I would like some opinions coz i'm about to buy one of the title's phones.
In my country there is a difference in price about 50 euros between 6p and s7 edge but that's not a matter to me.
I do care about developing apps on android and i do care about every possible update by google.
I would like also to have better support on roms/kernels and stuff in the future
Google stops guaranteed updates on 6p - September 2017
What is gonna be the advantage of having a nexus device after it?
Is it still possible to find better support + custom roms for 6p instead of s7 after September?
Thanks a lot
I considered the Edge, an year ago, when I bought my 6P. But I wanted a larger and bigger screen and the edge just wouldn't cut it.
Check the S7 edge forums to see how it is the development, but at this stage and considering its still somewhat a recent device, theres naturally less roms and development support (also due the fact this is a nexus which makes development much easier).
If a bigger screen and development arent so important for you, I'd say it's a good phone, I have friends that own it and are happy with it.
I have my 6P for more than a year. If I could go back I would not get the 6P and wait to take the S7 Edge. There are plenty of ROMs available for S7 Edge and also more diversity in them. I mean that the ROMs here for the 6P are basically all the same(don't everyone rush to correct me. I know they come with a lot of extras, but they are basically an extra menu and no so much or no at all changes in the Android user exp). I miss the opportunity to have the choice to try some more "exotic" options like MIUI(there is MIUI rom in the forums, but it's dead and with lots of bugs so... don't count it), ColorOS and stuff like this.
And also the S7 Edge has wireless charging, ip68 and microSD support. I really miss the SD(I came from Note 3). I am tired of cleaning up when shooting some high res videos or pics :/
And also the camera on S7 Edge is considered one of the best or maybe the best till date.
This is my subjective oppinion ofc.
Check the S7 Edge forum to see what development looks like.
As far as Nexus phones go, my Nexus 5 (2013) is running Nougat just fine right now.

I understand what you mean, and that is the "problem" with nexus devices, all roms are CAF/AOSP based with little support for third party roms like MIUI and ColorOS and all that stuff.
Looking back 5 years ago we could find those roms for lot's of devices, now I think things are getting more "stricter" in that sense.
But hey, I got a 6P exactly for this so.. while all "aosp/caf" look alike, they are so damn smooth and functional!

I hardly doubt someone buys a nexus and thinks "hey, I'd love a MIUI on my phone". Hahaha.
I was in the same position when I finally decided to go with 6P. In terms of hardware, I think S7 Edge is a superior phone with a better battey life (except for the camera which I think 6P's much better especially in lowlight and with HDR+).
However, in terms of rom development and software support, S7 Edge is really lagging behind. Not to mention with most of these vendors such as Samsung, Sony, etc., when you switch to another custom rom, you lose the camera quality and many other exclusive functions available only on their own official roms. Thus, I think only nexus phones (which sadly have come to an end) and now oneplus phones should be your choice when custom roms and fast updates are your thing!
I my own opinion, the S7 Edge isn't better than the 6P. The two are a very good photo-phone. I think the 6P is slightly better than the S7 in low light environment and use HDR+ like a charm.
Remember that the S7 Edge is newer than the 6P with release date 6 month after the 6P. I love the 6P for the multimedia experience with the 2 speakers in front of the phone with a really better immersion when you are watching movies or playing games.
When you buy a Pure android phone, it's for developpement purpose or to have a phone with an OS as clear as possible isn't ?
If you want an exotic ROM, buy an exotic phone

The front speakers on 6P are like every phone should have them, no doubt. I don't know how the vendors did not learn already this and are still putting them on the sides or even back. This is great plus!
For the low light... I guess it is arguable. I have a friend with S7 edge, and I have to admit, he got better ones than me. :/

Yep, with the old nexus-es I had, I got to try all kinds of stuff. And this was the best, since you get some unique ROMs and some of them match to your liking. Now - not the case anymore. :/
And for all of the guys who comment bad about the more unknown and distant ROMs(most chinese), I think they get their knowledge by just reading some articles and watching videos or maybe some old experience.
For example - I still have my Galaxy Note 3 with latest MIUI 8(all s-pen , camera mods and other stuff works perfectly). It is just as fast as my 6P and it is 2013 phone.
Now there are only few phones(at least from the late flagships) that you have the opportunity to try quite a number of totally different ROMs in terms of overall expirience.

It depends, it wasn't my first reason obviously, AOSP above all, but for who used MIUI before and enjoyed it, one can only wonder

The s7 edge screen is only .2 inches smaller (it's 5.5 inches) and due to having no on screen buttons you wouldn't notice.
That being said, I had the s6 edge. Camera, screen and build quality were much better with the edge. It really is a sexy phone imo.
The lack of updates got to me though, and since the s6 was exynos there were no ROMs. The s7 edge has a snapdragon so development would be much better no doubt. I would get the s7 for sure

I used to be a rom/kernel flasher daily starting all the way back to Nexus One and Nexus S phones, but eventually jumped ship to the iPhone 5s after the absolute **** audio and build quality of the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 4 (which I still have factory plastic on).
Since then I have sold and bought the iPhone yearly using Swappa, and now that I am up to the iPhone 6s Plus, I am getting really bored of IOS again. I plan on still keeping my iPhone 6s Plus, but want a second phone to use intermittently when I sell it in July.
I tried windows phone for a day, and said nope, this blows. So my choice is between Nexus 6p and S7 Edge. While the edge hardware looks amazing, I always appreciated the direct from Google updates and the unlocked boot loaders of the Nexus. So here are my questions:
How is the build quality of 6p vs S7 Edge
Is the audio qulality of either phoneup to par with iPhone 6s Plus
Camera Quality Decent?
Are the Screen poorly calibrated still, and are there kernels for that currently
How usefull are the fingerprint readers on Android now?
Can you reccomend cloud apps for this phone to sync with my ipad pro?

Ans to your ques exactly with no further clarification or explanation
1. 6p feels premium no doubt and if you want more buy the gold one
S7 edge looks dope but due to glass on back fingerprint magnet and slippery like hell also durability less than 6p
2. S7 edge audio sucks really due to ip68 water resistant you can check youtube for that as well
6p front facing loud speakers easily comparable with boomsound from htc
I would say it's louder than 6s plus but less bass
3. Both cameras are good but hdr+ on s7edge is 0.25 second faster in real time usage * and its a software side of thing so you can use 3rd party apps
Also front camera of 6p is 8mp and 5 for edge
4. Edge has the best amoled panel
6p would be 3rd after s7/edge and note 5 Also kernels for edge? Really? Roms for edge really? Unlocked bootloaders really?
Thanks to touchwiz hardly any support for s7 s7 edge
Yes kernels rom for 6p damn it's a nexus!
Yes I'm using a color profile damn my display looks so better than others much cooler.
5. 6p has one of the fastest finger print touch to unlock still i would say a lil fast than edge and yes there are android pay you can use while rooted as well there is a work around
6. Not sure about this.
Cheers ?

I just bought the 6P, after using an iPhone 6 plus for about a year and then the Galaxy Note 5 for a few weeks. Same as you, I have used various androids before the iPhone 6 launched with bigger screens (finally), but recently have missed the flexibility and power of Android. I think the build quality on the 6P is very good. But also considering the design, I think the order goes S7 > iPhone 6 > Nexus 6P. I say that because the attention to detail and materials used on the S7 is really a step above the iPhone. Both the S7 and iPhone have the gentle radius edge on the screen glass blending nicely into the chassis, the 6P does not (it's just flat). The 6P is nice, though, the aluminum feels nice and the chamfered edges look sharp. Reminiscent in appearance/style to the HTC One M7, I think. It also shares a similar (but not quite as bright) AMOLED screen with the Samsung offerings. But you should stop into a store to see the S7/S7 edge to see for yourself.
Is the audio qulality of either phoneup to par with iPhone 6s Plus
I think audio quality on 6P is just fine, the stereo front firing speakers are quite nice.. everything else I'm doing through Bluetooth, all sounds good.
Camera Quality Decent?
Photo quality on 6P is very good, better than iPhone according to DXOmark... But video quality not as good. S7 and Edge have the best camera of any smartphone on the market according to them.
Are the Screen poorly calibrated still, and are there kernels for that currently
I think the AMOLED screens on both the 6P and S7 are fantastic, better than any LCD option available. I haven't used tools to measure the technical merits of its color accuracy, but others have. To my eyes the screens are excellent. Apple needs to switch to AMOLED.
How usefull are the fingerprint readers on Android now?
The fingerprint reader on the 6P is excellent, better than the iPhone 6. The reader on my note 5 was not as good as the iPhone's, it would frequently fail and tell me to try again... I've heard it's improved on S7 but no personal experience. In terms of usefulness, you can unlock the phone obviously, but I can also use it to purchase apps in Play store, authorize android pay (and/or Samsung pay on S7), and log into PayPal. iOS is further ahead with 3rd party apps though, for example more banking apps on iOS have it integrated vs their android counterparts. I expect this will get more equal though as Marshmallow penetration expands with the S7 and G5 becoming available.
Can you reccomend cloud apps for this phone to sync with my ipad pro?
Guess it depends on what you want to sync. Google native apps sync pretty seamlessly across platforms.
The stock Marshmallow experience on the 6P is worth highlighting as another advantage. I wish Samsung would let you buy a Google Edition of their S7, free of all their extra software and carrier bloat. That's really the biggest negative in my opinion to the S7, and you can't do anything about it with its locked bootloader.
You don't buy a nexus for the build quality you buy a nexus because its a nexus and runs vanilla android and you can use android SDK and ROMs and kernels run 100 tines better than on other devices. Comparing two completely different world's IMO. And I wouldn't spend a penny on Samsung. I like choices and ROMs that run with no bugs. That's what I buy nexus and have since G1 and a few flagships along the way and never liked them as much as my nexus phones. It all depends what your looking for really. 6p is my favorite phone of all time. I'm a nexus kinda guy.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
the premium quality of the 6P is up to par with anything Apple can offer... so that to me is not a problem
Software to me should be a big priority... yes apple pushes updates fast, but so do the nexus (nexi?) with monthly updates now keeping you with latest sec patches, i say go with 6P over the S7 even tho its a great phone by all means.
Went for 6p when I saw Franco Kernel is still around, which blew my mind. Got it in gold off amazon, this phone is very nice! And this finger print reader kicks ass. Can you suggest any roms?

Are you just talking about storage? In that case I'd use OneDrive! It exists for iPad Pro now:
http://9to5mac.com/2016/01/19/micro...pdated-w-ipad-pro-apple-pencil-optimizations/
Also, if you get the s7 you will get 115gb FREE for 2 years! on the other hand, you can also get this by simply logging into a onedrive account in a store on either s6, note 5, or s7 phone, and turning on camera uploads, then signing out again. I did this and have the 115gb free!
I think others have given a fair representation of the 6P vs the competition so I won't elaborate on that.
But... I will give my 2 cents on ROM's + kernel combo. IMHO, you absolutely can not beat the stability and battery life/performance of Uberstock ROM and Kylo kernel. Uberstock is pretty much an optimized stock AOSP ROM, so if you want more ROM settings flash xposed and install gravity box. I've been running this setup for several months. While I've tried other ROMs that were favorites with my Nexus 6 (Shamu), I keep going back to the setup listed above as it just makes this device the way Google should have sent it from the factory. Good luck with your choice!
Hi all,
I am at a bit of a loss here. I am an avid Nexus user (see sig below) though i want to like the OnePlus 2 though i keep reading horror stories and concerns about throttling, charging and performance issues over time. It's like they made an awesome phone though failed with the software implementation.
I am hoping like a lot of issues on devices that the XDA community has addressed these problems with a nice Custom ROM..
Can people give me some honest feedback regarding their experiences? I have read a lot of reviews though its all using the Factory ROM. I want to know how good the device can be with a good community rom.
Please let me know thanks very much.
Buy a 6P or wait for the new nexus, really looking forward to get rid of my OPT.
oneplus2 far much better than 5X

OTP I've had too many small and big problems and bugs, I mean, the phone is usable but doesn't live up to it's specs and hype, software is the worst part of all, and if you are already a nexus user you will find annoying to wait for new versions of Android, also if you're into custom roms you should always stick to nexus.
And de 5X is too expensive for it's built and specs.
I mean personally I would think of other options, the Nexbit Robin seems really nice, or you can wait for the new phones that are coming.

You cannot go wrong with a Nexus - I am a OP 1 and 2 user. Came from Nexus 5(which still works).
OP2 now has everything working Custom ROM's but there are still niggles, which do not hamper you daily use. Community support is almost at par with Nexus. Fingerprint scanner is a bit fickle, I am having mine RMA'ed right now.
On the other hand... 5x is way to expensive for the specs being offered.. You could wait for new lineup this summer.. OP3, Motorola etc..
Obviously opt unless you want to settle for a less specifications mobile device for a higher price.
OP2 has better everything except OTAs which can be fixed with cyanogenmod. I'd pick up the OP2 or wait for the next nexus line.
Op2 is an awesome phone, just flash the latest hydrogen os build on it and compare it with a 5x... Everything in op2 is better even the camera...
Nexus 5X price is a joke. I would buy a N5 for 150$ before N5X lol
I wouldnt buy a phone with 2gb of ram and snapdragon 808 in 2016 anyways
I am also very satisfied with my 2. It just works rocking solid. And it has the best fingerprint Sensor out there, i really love it! So fast and accurate if you set it up correct.
But if i were you, i would wait for the 3. It should be out in july, so its not that long. If you want a phone now, just get the 2
got them both.
op2 has better specs.
5x feels cheaper, cooler, charges faster, has lower memory, lower ram, single sim and has a smaller screen.
both last 4-5hrs sot on my daily usage
personally i have my OPT on sale and have considered getting the nexus 5X instead (been some price drops here in uk). mainly because the OPT software is horrible, heats up quick, sluggish performance on stock rom, even though custom roms significantly improve the device its still doesnt feel like a flagship, i.e. some lag and small bugs here and there. in comparison my dads redmi note 3 and sisters OPO feel faster and snappier in comparison and in my side by side usage there both are smoother while scrolling.
also another thing ... people go crazy about specs and wanting a phone with the best possible hardware but they are forgetting the main thing the user experience. The oneplus 2 is culprit of this as it has the best specs but software is horrible that you are forced to use a custom rom
5x if the price is cheaper depending on your available sources. OPT very prone to fingerprint sensor failure and the RMA process apparently has been a nightmare to those unlucky enough to need a replacement or even any kind of hardware technical support really.
Go with anything other than OPT i regret now buying opt instead of Moto X variants or Nexus variant.
There is little to no support from the company for updates and they dont even release source code in time.
XDA community is there true but still isnt on par with devices who has their source code released.
It's been posted but compare the two and see what ya come out with.. On paper the OP2 is the better phone. I'm glad I got mine. I was down to the Nexus 6 or OP2 and I'm glad I did.
I'm sure your gonna root the thing.. So CM and updates will flow... So yeah.. Get the OP2
And despite what you have been told.. Oxygen 3.0 is a damn nice ROM. I was a slim ROM freak and I'm satisfied and very happy with MM update.. Yeah it's beta but it's rock solid.
Hell.. I would get a OPO over the 5X
Wait for new device.
A lot of users thinks oneplus2 is failed in China, me too.
Wish Oneplus3 will be better.
I am still with my OPT just because of the ability to use two SIM cards. That's just way more practical for combining work+private SIM. Atleast I prefer it over having to take two phones with me.
So if it wasn't for that, I would still be using my Nexus 5X, since there's just way better software support.
I hope the OnePlus 3 will change that.
Hello all, I'm currently on the s7 edge and I've had it with this locked bootloader. This phone feels like an iPhone to me. You can't do anything with it but use it. The edge of the screen is troublesome when using the phone without a case.
Basically I want to know if the v10 is still worth getting? Or should I wait for something else? I'm on T-mobile.
I love huge screens(which is another issue I have with this phone)
Don't care for camera
Don't care about gaming speed. That's what my DS and other handhelds are for.
Don't care about battery life if it's replaceable.

It's a great phone and is now easily rootable on both Lollipop or Marshmallow (depending on which it ships with). Custom TWRP recovery exists and that's helpful when flashing updates. There's a very solid stock ROM with various debloat, dedeox, etc variations to try from. Also a couple non stock ROMs like CM13 and Resurrection Remix that are WIP that are pretty close (working camera being the big gating item).
On the con side it's not the latest and greatest and the G5 of HTC 10 has better performance (at least in tests like Antutu). Also i wish there were more devs actively working on this phone....seems like its really only a couple folks and if they get bored and move on...
Anyway, that's my two cents. Hope it helps. Come join the fun.
A great device, had mine for less than two months now and for the current price it is hard to beat
This beat out the nexus 6p for me due to the removable battery and expandable storage
The second screen is a bit gimicky still, I can't find a reason to use it much other than for always on notifications
The two front facing cameras... well the could have stuck with just the wide angle and I would be happy. But rear shooter is still hard to beat by anything
Build quality is solid, screen is great, battery ain't so good but the fastest charger to date can't beat a battery swap
Other forums may have more development but this one is moving along nicely and with the smaller size feels closer (my big name phones always had way too many people to keep track)
I plan on holding on to it for two years, can't see a good reason not to.
Hope to see you around the forum!

Yeah, what these guys said. I just got my V10 this month so only a couple weeks with it but I'm quite happy. Has all the features I require: swappable battery, SD card support, good camera with OIS, and fingerprint support. I love big screens and this certainly has it plus the second screen I find moderately useful though not a requirement. It's also built like a tank which is nice (but heavy). I don't see anything in the market that competes with the V10 if you have the same requirements as I do. I think the only thing that might get me jealous in 2016 is a V11. This one will likely last me several years, I think.
Hey all,
Like some other fellow Nexus 6P users here I'm sure you are getting curious of what other phones are out there, that can please our every geeky need.
But I just can't fine one - everything I want is in this phone!
I have been looking around but yet I always keep drawing up a pro's and con's list in my mind and can't help but sum up the 6P as having:
- Great battery life (once tweaked accordingly)
- Dual speakers
- Perfect display
- Fast and reliable
- Great size
- Access to latest Google updates
- Great camera (the best I've had on a smartphone)
- Etc.
Though despite all this, the desire to at least 'window-shop' and look around for the next greatest phone is still there. The new Xiaomi Mi Mix looks interesting, as I feel like I could go bigger on the screen size. Same with the Phab 2 Pro, the 6.4" size appeals to me but then seemingly I'd lose out on the great camera (low light especially) and the dual speakers.
Anyways I thought I'd start a thread to hear some other opinions on this, if any other released/to be released phone has almost got you swayed into parting with the beloved...
Sorry
But calling Nexus 6p screen perfect
That's weard
The screen is ****
Really old AMOLED with bad colours
Coming from a 2013 Droid MAXX, the screen is perfect for me. Guess for someone coming from a Samsung Galaxy would feel differently.. but yes, this phone is just about perfect. I especially like the camera's low light capabilities.

Haha.. glad to see I'm not the only one who looking for another phone but hard to decide bc I too love my 6P.
Been thinking of the One plus 3 not really a upgrade but something different but waiting on the One plus 4 . But it's gotta have good Dev support and the One plus definitely has that.
But still looking at others as well.. undecided bc my 6P has been a perfect fit for what I like in a phone :/

However, I won't deny that the 4GB/821 specs inside the Pixel XL are tempting at times...but I'm thinking I'll either get my wife a normal Pixel to upgrade her GS6 edge and wait to get myself whatever comes out next year, or just wait on both of us till then. I'm not as against the Pixel as some, but I'll admit that $870 (+ tax) for a 128GB, similarly-sized phone is a bit of a tough pill to swallow for me personally lol
I had the pixel for a a few days and returned it because the price difference to performance from the 6p felt negligible to me. 7.1.1 on the 6p fixed a lot of quirks I had and flashing the pixel stuff over made me more than content to keep the 6p thru this year. Looking forward to seeing what HTC has in store for their next flagship.

Hmm then it is a shame that we have such diffeent experiences with this phone - the colours, for me, are perfect - no tweaking of them required. The blacks are black with no 'bleeding'. Absolutely great for me...

Coming from a 2013 Droid MAXX, the screen is perfect for me. Guess for someone coming from a Samsung Galaxy would feel differently.. but yes, this phone is just about perfect. I especially like the camera's low light capabilities.

Yup the low light camera is literally the best I've had. Very consistently impresses me, even still to this day!

Indeed, that price tag is a hefty one and one that I cannot justify spending.... at least not yet anyway. I would miss the larger screen and the speakers, being the real tangible difference. Like you say, features have/will come our way with software updates, but I really do appreciate a great sound and nice sized display - yet to find this elsewhere though!!?
The "bezel-less" Xiaomi Mi MIX does look like a nice phone. So that may tick the box of size, but would the screen quality be as nice? And the speakers? And the low light camera capabilities?? Not sure on that one...
The Huawei Honor Note 8 looks good too, very big screen which I think I'd like, but overall just don't think I'd be as happy as I am now.....
Dam restlessness eh!!
I'm definitely glad I went with the 6p also. I don't mind spending the money upgrading. Was looking at note 7 or iPhone 7 plus. But the price for the Pixel xl to me I couldn't do. I just can't put the Pixel in the same category as the other phones.

lol do you own a Nexus 6P? The display is the exact same as the Galaxy S7 screen. They only difference is the S7 screen is set a few nits brighter. Deep blacks, vibrant popping colors and great contrast. Maybe you have sRBG turned on for "true colors"? If not maybe you just have a sub-standard quality display on your phone.
there is no doubt to the nexus 6p is good device but not the best in my opinion! maybe so hard to believe but my ex device (htc M8-32 g) is far better! at the least for me!
here is some reason: I've multi rom with 3 base of Android (kitkat/lollipop/Marshmallow) and switch between the without any issues. (sense rom, google play or CM base rom doesn't matter! all of them work perfect!)but if this don't convince you let me tell you the custom sense rom developers in htc really perfect (most definitely the Viper rom of Venom groups plus insertcoin roms and sky dragon roms) having too dozens options for customize and in the end better quality of speakers and headphones sounds and have a great sound batch like Harman/Kardon sound batch and no come up short in battery even with a smaller size of battery and too smooth without any lag. may rest in peace my dear M8! ??
sure I know the nexus 6p's camera to far better than M8 but I'm not a mobile camera user and need very rarely to it
however I like my nexus 6p and one of the best device I'd
sorry for my bad english-noob language

That phone does look like a nice one for its time, there's nothing wrong in holding love still for such a device! I'm in the same love for the 6P right now, for me, the best its been ever for a mobile device. But as theres only so many roms to try, my flashoholic nature starts wanting to wander into the 'next device' territory......whatever that may be haha
I'm keeping an eye on the Huawei Mate 9 Pro up coming announcement November 4th...

The Pixel XL is the same price as the iPhone 7 Plus. It may not be worth the money to some but it is the best Android phone to date. The 6p is great I still have mine but the Pixel XL is fantastic. If you like Android and could spend the money on an iPhone 7 Plus but not the Pixel XL. You need to get your hands on one and play with it. If you can get a 6p cheap it is hard to beat for the money.

If you are into rooting/modding, you can easily fix this with a custom kernal to your liking.
Answer the op. Nothing beats Huawei mate 8(soon 9) when it comes to overall phone but you have other issues to deal with. While im waiting for the Mate 9 to release and after I broke my Mate 8 I had to find a phone to hold me over.
Nexus 6p
Lg v10 and maybe g3./4
Note 5 but doesnt have enough storage for me.
Couple of other chinese phones but you lose lte most of the time.
Nothing really unless you want baby note aka s6/s7 edge.
For my personal taste, maybe axon 7 if the community is behind it. Note 7 if that whole thing didnt happen.
edit- If an updated version of the 6p ever released with half the top/bottom bezels, It would be the goat. Any htc is not in the same realm as 6p
My 6P battery was degraded. I think to change to another phone.
But I still finding...... :silly::silly::silly:
Sorry but the Nexus/Google phones have one thing that will keep me....Project Fi with CDMA-GSM LTE Switching. No other phone can do it because the software just isn't there.

Samsung devices have a "SUPER AMOLED" and the difference is noticeable. I came from a note 4 (2014 release) to a nexus 6p(2015 release) and I saw the difference in screen right away. Nothing beats a Samsung Galaxy screen, even if the nexus uses a Samsung amoled screen. I can barely see anything on this screen in the sun, which was never a problem for my note 4. Other than that, nexus 6p is a solid device.. I got it for $330 for the 64gb gold. I probably wouldn't have paid more than $350 for this device thou. Definitely feels like a downgrade from my 1 year older note 4 (sadly I broke it).
Coming from a lg v10 I was decided between a lg v20 and this phone so I bought the 32gb 6p then I'm like ok this phone is awesome but I had one problem. Internal storage was only 25gb on the 32gb variant I filled it up within a week or two then I'm like ok great phone I'm getting 128gb. I bought my fiance the lg v20 it is a awesome but the roms available for the Nexus 6p is way better than the lg v10 or 20 I had the lg v10 before this 6p. The difference is amazing, the lg v10 was slower and couldn't even keep up with me.
The only thing better than the 6p is a 6p with 12hrs SOT
I can get both for around the same price range, and I actually like the notch, so that does not bother me. If I do go ahead and buy the s9 plus it will be the US variant meaning no custom ROMs or nothing while the oneplus 6 will definitely have all of that and more. But the s9 plus will probably have a better camera as it does every year. What do you guys think? In a dilemma of sorts right now....
note 9 incoming
You're going to get skewed results by posting this in the S9+ forum...
I have had the last few OnePlus devices and decided to move back to the S9+. The build quality is a huge reason but also on the S9 I find I can just leave it alone and use it and be happy, with the OnePlus there were always stupid little inconsistencies that led me to messing with different ROMs and kernels trying to fix it, the camera was absolutely trash on all of them so far, not just hardware but software too. I felt like I was fighting against both the 3 and 5 rather than just enjoying the experience like I am the S9.
+1Bump
Anyone else?
I was prepared to get the OP6 until I saw a few design changes. The first was going from metal to glass. I much prefer metal as it's sturdier.
The real deciding factor was the notch, however. I hate this notch fad. Petty? Maybe, but it's an ugly distraction of a design feature to me. So it was the S9+ for me. So far I'm quite happy with it.
LG G7 or LG V40.
LG for life.
i had a oneplus 3t and a oneplus 5. both of them were underdeveloped and had bugs similar to what you would see with a custom ROM. i like the fact that oneplus lets you unlock and root without consequence, but i need a good stock ROM to default to, and a little OIS wouldn't hurt. OOS is buggy as hell and it exemplifies the oneplus name. when they say they are adding new features i pucker a bit. when sammy says they added new features, i get all squirmy with glee.
i actually don't like samsung a lot, but they do have the best product out there.
I'd say the Oneplus 6, but rumors say it will include the same camera/sensor as the 5T. If you value mobile photography at all, the S9 is the (far) better option.
To be brutally honest here if you can get a Oneplus phone for around the same price as a Galaxy s phone of the same year. That Onplus is Wayyyyy overpriced and therefore not worth it. The only way for the Onplus to compete with a premium tier phone is with a considerable mark down. At least 200$ less or else it`s not worth it.
Right now on craigslist, I can buy a sealed s9 plus for 600 and s9 for 500
They teasers were commenting on the camera being better, don't think they will use the same sensor.
If you get the Exynos version you'd also be getting the faster CPU
