Alright I have something weird with my phone I want to why and what may be the reason
When I leave my phone a while or when it's cold the LCD panel goes crazy touch is fine no ghost touch but the LCD panel itself freaks out and sometimes the screen flickers till the phone gets warm again and goes back to normal
Any suggestions or help will appreciate it
Thanks in advance
I Googled a lot and didn't find something useful
Seems like some water vapor condensed in it, leave all the flips open for a night in a well-ventilated area then the problem should then be solved.

Yes happens to me too
When its really cold, I get it but after some warming it is fine.
Flaps all closed don't know why it happens.
I check the temps and its around 28-30 when it starts occurring.

I have the same problem.
I cleaned my phone before using water( didn't dip it).
Do you think this would solve my issue?
Since that happened a months back.

Could be due to too humid, and the water vapour gets into your phone.

Yes, the water resistant bands may have worn out. So water can gets in.

Okay now I have something else I noticed when my CPU temperature lower than 40 it starts to freak out and flickers a lot @iXaidyiu
I would say it's probably the display ribbon connector.
If it was me I'd go the easy route - remove the rear cover and disconnect / reconnect the plug a couple of times then test it for a day with the cover temporarily replaced.
If you're sure it's then working order a new rear cover gasket and reattach the cover permanently.
Heres a teardown guide:

I replaced the old original ones with the fakes from Chinese websites.
Is there any place where we can obtain the original flaps?

I have this one problem that happens intermittently:
Sometimes, upon turning the screen on, the face unlock turns on, but the camera doesn't, so all that's shown is a black screen.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I tried out the face unlock for a day and yes this happened to me a lot. When it worked it is pretty handy but I would say 1 out 3 times ff camera did not turn on.

It happened to me once so far. Ive been using it(and just playing with it) for two days now.
Happened to me quite a few already but only when I was in low light situations. Other than that, when I'm outside or during the day indoors, it works perfectly!

This happens to me outdoors, in good light, as well.
I hope HTC rolls out a fix soon.
No problems here worked eveytime since pre-order launch day
Sent from my Evo Lte using XDA
I think once out of the 30+ times I've used it so far (I have mine set to stay unlocked for 5 minutes) the camera didn't come on in time for the face unlock timeout.
It's still happening to me, maybe about 10-15% of the time.
Me too- I'd say 10 - 15% is about right. It works enough that I've left it on though.

In low light it's different- it actually specifies that lighting is the problem; I can't remember the actual wording. Like I said, it still works enough for me to keep using it.
-still like most of us geeks, it will bother me until I fix it.
it happened to me when i was custom rom
No Issues here.....has always turned on....
I wonder though.....for those having the issue......(and don't flame for this question) but did you make sure you were not covering the front camera? its in the upper right side of the screen and I could see possibly covering the cam with a stray finger......
just a thought to check.....though unlikely.

I hear ya- I'm an I.T. tech, and people go nuts when I say "are you sure it's turned on?" -but for the record, the camera is not blocked when it happens.
My Xperia S sometime have this hated problem.
After an observation period I've noticed that:
1) Is not a temperature problem (put it in the freezer for half hour when yellow ghost appeared, it remain)
2) The yellow ghost appear only when use some USB charger or when I connect it to my PC (dell e6420).
Conclusion:
Perhaps the yellow ghost is caused by a over tension, under charge.
Some other ideas?
On my phone it also randomly pops up, but mostly when I'm using a lot of apps, or set the CPU to overclock or performance mode so it also has to do with temperature
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
The yellow ghost screen is affected by the screen temperature.. If ur fone is overclocked, the yellow screen will keep on poping up. If u can troubleshoot, flashing a stock rom would be a nice kdea to see kf the yellow screen reappears.
Reappearing means u have a hardware failure..
{Helpful, thank me}

Mine is not over clocked and yesterday when appeared the yellow ghost, to verify if the cause of it was the temperature, I've put my XPS in to the freezer for an half hour and then... when the phone was at -20 the yellow ghost was there
Perfect display here. (3 months)
And a friend have one 100% fine too.
why would you put your phone in a freezer? thats going to mess up your screen even more

It must be able to operate at -10DegC without fault, perhaps -20 is a bit extreme for it
It is a heat problem. Its the glue around the screen heating and melting. Freezing won't make it go away. Some people are lucky and it evaporates away, some it just dries and sticks there.
It was apparently only an issue on the first batch of handsets and Sony recognised the issue and offered free replacement handsets to anyone with the problem. ( i had it and got mine replaced for free)

I wasnt questioning the phone working at low temp just the idea behind putting a phone thats overheating/hot into a freezer creating condensation along with other problems :highfive: lol

Hey, I need some held with my phone.
My Evo 3D fell like one time too often to the ground :\
Now it's sometimes touching itself.
There are a lot of guides/tutorials for replacing the touchscreen/lcd , but I'm not sure what exactly may be the problem ?
The touchscreen or the lcd ? Or is it broken anyway ?
best regards :fingers-crossed:

The thread name is a little off putting..as for your question your digitizer is probably going out. It's a very common issue with the 3vo

try a touch test app and see where the issue is on the screen.
100% is the touch screen and unfortunately needs to be replaced.

Is it occurring all the times or only when you keep the phone on charge with a wall mount charger. I am having same kind of issue, which happens with wall charger attached and only with a specific charger . when i tried with a different charger issue is not there.

Jag

The evo 3d has a poor digitizer. At first I only had issues with sense based roms (random touches) later it was acting up on aosp, then it even started hapoening in the recovery. I could usually turn screen off and back on then be ok for a short period. To fix the issue you need to replace the digitizer (since prices are cheap I would order the whole front assembly).

That's exactly what I do right now - turn screen on/off an it works for a little while
Thanks guys, I'm ordering a new one right now :good::highfive:
could always try cleaning the screen, i know after a days work my will act up if i don't clean the screen, just from the oil and dirt that will get on it .
Well , I dropped my Xperia U in water 2 days back . I immediately took out everything and let it dry . The next day I powered it up , it booted but with VERTICAL RED LINES on the screen wherever there is a bright/white spot . The touch is working , everything is fine only the screen is showing these red lines . If I use it more than 10 mins , it's screen goes blank though the touch still works , but nothing is displayed on the screen .
Anyone knows what should I do ?
I have attached some images displaying those red lines !
Well I guess say Bbye to your screen, i'm so sorry to say that, as well as I said I guess, not sure, but what could make this other than a damaged display, feeling sorry for you dude...

That's due to build up of salts on in the LCD. As soon as you removed the battery you should have washed it in distilled water. But probably too late now.
Sent from my Xperia P using Tapatalk
Find a disassembly manual, open up everything. Wash the board and connectors with distilled or desalinized water. Don't wash battery. Dry with a fan (not hot) and then assemble again.
If there are still issues you can either try to buy another lcd from ebay or whatever or sell it off and buy a new one.
Also trying to replace the water pad and sending it to repair is another option (water pad turns red when phone is wet. Techs won't service it if it is red. Also warranty is void if red. New ones on ebay o
r whatever)
Been having this issue with my phone every time I receive a phone call and finished with the call my phone starts to operate by its self anyway to fix this thanks
Are you on the latest firmware? I read that on earlier firmwares, if the screen is even slightly wet, from your facial oil or hand oil, or water, the screen will go wonky and operate on its own due to sensitivity issue.

For me oil from finger doesn't cause this at all ,, but water does. I make sure to wipe off water if it gets on the screen.

I have this problem occasionally too .. the phantom touch!
I just turn off the, then wipe the screen clean. Good o know that this happens only to my phone alone!
Just name sure phone is dry.
