Hi,
I'm having problems with my great Lumix phone, stuck in a bootloop. I got it in to ADB mode using this a thread: on another site, but cannot get further. Maybe my phone was in MTP before it got stuck in the bootloop. It definitely is running in developer mode. I am on 5.0.2 and the problem started when deinstalling Kingroot via Super Sume Pro
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Is there a regular factory reset mode, I can't find a keycombination that will start the factory reset other than the one in the thread. If not, does anyone know how to change the mtp to adb mode?
I hope someone out there does know the answer....

Try the power button + volume up
And see if that boots it into recovery.

Just tried, but does not go into recovery, just Lumix repeating itself. (I let go of the buttons as soon as the "starting system" was shown.

Try letting go the power button only when the "lumix logo" appear, and keep holding the volume button.
unfortunately, that does not work either. I noticed that the Lumix logo only apears on the second loop; i.e: first it starts with a screen powerd by Android twice, after the second it goes to Starting system and then Lumix. Maybe that does give you/someone a clue?

I thought that lumix logo is the first thing that shows app.
In that case you need to let go the power button when you see the "powered by android" logo, and keep holding the volume button.
In short, release on the first thing that show up, no matter what it is..lumix logo..android logo..etc

Tnx again, but no, I'm sorry, that does not do the trick. Stays in the bootloop, no recovery choices in this way.

Ok, last thing to suggest is to search google for:
"(your model number) recovery mode"
Or any other suggestions that comes in your mind, i tried doing that but "Lumix phone" didn't come out with anything related because it's not accurate.

Hello mate, I have the same bootloop issue after uninstalling KingRoot. Did you fix your phone somehow?
I'm in the same boat - stuck in boot loop at "Lumix" logo. I tried Power + Volume Up/Down to no vail.

I'm not sure why, but it'll show the "Samsung Galaxy S2" boot screen then it'll just go black. When I hold "down" and power at the same time, it'll ask me to "download a custom OS" hit "up" or hit "down" to restart. Yes, it's rooted. But it's worked fine for about 3 weeks now since root.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you installed a custom kernel?
In the case you are trying to boot into recovery, remove the phone from charger and press all: vol up, vol down and power while bootup to boot into recovery
I've actually reset my device now using the factory reset. And it still does the same thing. Not sure what else to do at this point?
And no, stock everything. Stock rooted.
People have had this problem before. Keep trying random passwords, and sooner or later it'll wipe your data. If that doesn't work, flash Entopy's "Back to Stock" package on XDA.

Is your phone an AT&T Galaxy S II I777? You say: "When I hold "down" and power at the same time, it'll ask me to "download a custom OS" hit "up" or hit "down" to restart." On the I777, holding vol- and power at the same time is the same as turning the phone on with the power button. I've never seen anything like you describe.
You havn't said you were getting a security password prompt, so I don't know why the suggestion to keep entering a password. Are you getting a security password prompt when you try to enter recovery?
To troubleshoot the problem, we need to determine if there was any change or "event" that would have triggered the problem.

Yes, there was a build.prop edit. I reset my phone after the edit and it won't power up past the "Samsung" boot screen. I got passed the password prompt and I was able to successfully factory reset my phone and it still doesn't boot past the "Samsung" boot screen.

It's possible a build.prop edit could cause boot failure. Can you connect to the phone through ADB? If you can do that, you might be able to reactivate the build.prop.bak file that was probably created when you did the edit.
If you can't get into the file system, then probably the best thing is to flash stock. If it was my phone, I would probably flash the stock one-click downloader in the "Return you phone to the Store or for Warranty Replacement" guide, and then re-root with DooMLords zergrush method from the other guide. Links in my signature.
Yeah, I'm downloading the file now to attempt this. Thank you.

Hello all,
I was using my phone, checking emails and making phone calls just fine. Then I got home and went to the computer to do some work. I noticed that my phone was showing the Galaxy S3 logo. I though weird. So I removed the battery, put it back in but still the same thing. I though maybe it was broken so I though a factory reset would be a good idea. BUT, I can't go to Recovery. When I try to go to Download mode, it opens up the interface where it says "Volume up" to go to Download mode or "Volume Down" to reboot your phone. Even when I press the Volume Up button, the phone restarts. So basically, my phone has gone full retarded and I can't do anything, no Recovery or no Download mode.
Anyone knows anything?

Yes, It doesn't work. I even tried holding Vol Up + Home + Power buttons for 10 minutes hoping the phone would go to Recovery. It doesn't even want to go to Download. It shows the Download menu but when I click the Volume Up button, it simply reboots the phone. And it was working fine before it happened.

I thought it might not work but was worth a try...It sounds like either corrupt partitions or emmc chip corrupt/damage but all the solutions I know of need you to at least get into download mode and if adb is not working as well then the only thing I can suggest is service repair.
This is the situation I would hope not to find myself in maybe somebody else as some suggestions but sorry it's not looking good.

This honestly sucks. I have been using my Galaxy S3 for two years without any problems. It was my main device for everything. Maybe because I have used it for 2 years without rest for work has caused a chip failure.
Started out with Z4, updated to Z8. I tried this with TWRP installed after making both EFS backup and regular nandroid backup, installed fine. I made sure to use the recommended partition zips. Here's the ROM I used. However after turning my phone off it will turn on into safe mode (lollipop) in limited, seemingly random instances. I have yet to access recovery. However, the one part I know that I screwed up is I installed xposed (forgot to install the xposed helper), so I receive unlimited errors for that and can't do anything.
I've tried rebooting my phone normally, rebooting into recovery, and cutting all of my losses and flashing back to stock. Any advice? I'm trying to follow the directions here to revert back to stock, but my computer will only recognize an unrecognized device.
Thanks for the help!
Flash the rom labeled "BarePop_TE_V1 " it has the files need to fix your issues (make sure to thank @engine95). Heres the link to the rom it is pretty much a debloated version of that lollipop rom you were running:http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/development/barepop-zv8-t3035551
That reboot problem you are having is because of a bug with the stock rom so just flash that one to fix everything.
I appreciate the help, however my main problem still lies with the fact that I can't access recovery. I've gotten it to where I can reboot normally (albeit I still can't do anything due to the constant errors), but holding pwr+vol down and then letting go and reclicking those once the lg sign comes up won't let me into recovery. Do you have any advice for that? Thanks again for the help!

I've had similar issues in the past trying to boot into recovery and the method you said (vol down+power then let go and press again when LG logo comes up) also wouldn't work for me. Have you tried just holding it down and not letting it go until you see "Recovery Mode"? That actually worked for me.

I don't know why it worked this time... but it worked on my second attempt! I have access! Only issue is the touchscreen is messed up on the ROM, but it works!
With all of these issues you may want to flashtool back to ZV4 and reroot or ZV8 your call.

Not to be redundant, but my understanding is the only way it will go into recovery from full off is to keep holding power+vol down until you see "recovery mode", if you let up on the buttons before you see recovery mode it will simply reboot.
When rooting an ATT G3 I could not for the life of me get it to boot into recovery using the button combo, instead I just used adb reboot recovery instead, worked every time, to this day the guy can only reboot to recovery from within rom, gonna suck if he gets soft bricked.. My Sprint G# holding the buttons works like a charm
When I want to boot into recpvery I always have to do volume + power up until the lg logo comes up then let go and press them again. Then I have to press the factory reset button and click yes. For me and I guess others when you hold volume + powerdown you just end up going into safe mode. If you end up always having problem just download a app that can make your phone reboot itself or download terminal and run:
su
reboot recovery
That always works because it is built into the phone.

Yes it does. I mentioned the penguin specifically:
Seeing the penguin is normal. I have managed to fix the issues I have and I am running a custom ROM by Cuoco92, all thanks to the help I got from @simidisc.
I will assume that you have installed all appropriate USB drivers.
1. Visit http://bit.ly/1Q6irPH and download SEZIONE FIRMWARE and SEZIONE RECOVERY. Don't worry about this being in Italian - I don't speak Italian and managed no problem.
2. Copy the zip file from Sezione Firmware to your phone.
3. Unzip the the recovery file on your computer and connect your phone to your computer.
4. After unzipping TWRP, run "Install Over Fastboot".
5. Your phone will reboot and you will see THE PENGUIN. Just press VOLUME UP + POWER at the same time and your phone will reboot to TWRP.
6. You should now be able to flash the ROM, making sure to wipe cache, dalvik etc.

The penguin comes on then no matter what I do, it either just reboots (if I keep holding power down) and continues to do this for ever, or boots into the LeEco recovery, if I press volume up and power, or just boots into EUI rom if I do nothing.
Any suggestions?

Hi there,
a friend of mine gave me her completely original and stock Galaxy S 3 Neo that got stuck in a bootloop while she was using it.
If you power up the phone, it shows the Samsung Galaxy logo, then proceeds to load the animated logo with the music, but as soon as the first second of music is played, the phone bootloops.
If I try to boot in recovery mode (Home+Power+Volume UP), it bootloops.
If I try to enter Odin mode (Home+Power+Volume DOWN), it bootloops.
Could anyone please explain to me the steps I have to do in order to recover this phone? It is absolutely ESSENTIAL not to delete the internal storage data, because she keeps there many photos of his son (with no backup... how clever)...
Thanks a lot!

Yes. It reboots after just a few seconds I see recovery or dowload mode, bu it actually loads them before rebooting. The phone is even recognized by Odin just before it reboots.
Are you sure the battery is okay and fully charged? It's possible that the power button is stuck.

It may be the power button whereby the button is stuck in the "pressed" position.

The power button clicks ok so it doesn't look like it is stuck... I'll look more into it
Edit: WTF I can access download mode just by pressing Home and Volume down, so it seems the power button IS stuck even if it clicks normally...
Although it clicks, it may be stuck in the pressed position.
If you have a multimeter, you could test the power button contacts.
