I have a phone (Huawei Honor 6X; posting in this forum because no one in that forum answered + this seems to be a non-device specific issue, so just hit me up with ideas) on T-Mobile that can use data, can receive MMS, and can send/receive texts, but cannot *send* MMS/picture texts. APN settings are as they should be for T-Mobile (although if anyone wants to post their T-Mo APN settings for their GSM unlocked phone, please do) but it's not working. Any ideas?

I am having a problem with MMS from my TMO HD2 (U.S.). I have a prepaid sim card in it and use only wifi for internet connection.
I can not send or receive MMS of any kind from my phone. I get the the error message that the MMS was unable to be sent/downloaded. On previous phones (specifically tmobile wing), I had no problem sending MMS with a prepaid SIM.
Can anyone answer definitively if the HD2 has to have a data plan to work? I have read that the hd2 needs a data plan for MMS and that it doesn't need it. just looking for the facts. Also, I don't know if settings for MMS have gotten screwed up or not. Can someone post the settings exactly?
Hi all,
Any Optus branded SGS2 owners here having issues recieving MMS from Vodafone numbers. - hope im not the only one lol
I have had my phone for about 2 weeks now and till this day cannot send or recieve MMS from people on the Vodafone network. I can send and recieve MMS fine from Optus, Telstra, 3, Virgin but nothing from vodafone.
I have called Optus about this issue, its been over 2 weeks now and they still cannot resolve the issue! if i put my SIM card in any other phone and enter the correct Optus APNs it works fine (can recieve and send MMS to vodafone). I have checked/re-checked/deleted and re-entered the Optus MMS APNs about 20 times now as instructed by Optus and still not luck!
Here are some screen shots to give you guys a better picture.
Vodafone recieve MMS shows up as 'Download' but never downloads!

Telstra Recieve's fine

And any other provider seems to be fine.
No matter what i do i cannot download the MMS from vodafone numbers nor do they recieve my MMS.
Anyone else have this issue?
Exact same issue here. No idea what to do.
I am on AT&T, and having the same problem.
I had this problem for ages with all MMS and found it actually worked when I turned wifi off and just had mobile data networks on and hit "download".
Worth a try at least if you haven't...
I had this issue too. If I had mobile data off and an MMS was sent to me, the msg would be stuck in 'downloading' and I could never receive it even after turning data on and off, restarting the phone, killing the process and reopening it etc. There was no way to manually retrieve it. My fix is;
1) Open messaging
2) Hit menu button -> Settings
3) Untick Auto-retrieve.
Now all MMS's appear with a download button. Simply enable mobile data, hit download and voila!
Hey, I recently got a international samsung gs II and i didn't grab a data plan yet and i wanna know is there another way to receive mms?
Not proper MMS, no. MMS is linked to your phone number on your carrier. If I remember correctly, MMS can only be downloaded over packet data, not over WiFi (most likely due to some authentication routine). If you want to exchange photos/whatever, use email/Facebook/etc. until you grab a data plan.

Hey guys.
So my V10 is originally from T-Mobile. It is factory unlocked. I have a Cricket sim card in right now and I can make calls, receive texts, send texts, and receive calls. But for some odd reason I don't have access to mobile data and MMS. I tried setting up an APN or what have you. But that has gotten me nowhere. Also tried to contact Cricket directly but to no avail. Any help would be great.
Bump
Hi,
I assume you followed those instructions and have also activated the created APN and enabled mobile data:

Trying to send/receive MMS on Plusnet in the uk. I tried the original settings that came with the sim but no luck. Asked on the plusnet forum and input their suggested APN manually but it still won't work. Sending just fails and can't receive - just get a "Cannot download MMS, click to retry" message. Then a few days later get a text form EE with a password link to view it online.
If you have a Mate 10 (or a Pro which I assume would be the same) please let me know your APN settings. Thanks
just me then i guess

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean, are you saying that your trying to send a MMS using your WiFi and it's not working?
I can't send or receive mms whether on wifi or data.

This is a carrier issue or phone related issue, not WiFi then I believe, if it was just WiFi then it would be Plusnet's fault but it's also your data from your carrier
My phone contract is with Plusnet (which uses EE Network) and my Wifi is directly with EE - neither work.
Plusnet community support seems to have given up on me so I thought I'd come on here and find any UK Mate 10 /Pro users and see if their MMS is working and with what settings.

I'm on EE and can send a MMS, I'm not aware of any particular settings tho to make it work, I put my SIM card in the phone and it works lol
"lol" I'm very pleased for you.
Anyone else prepared to share their actual APN settings?
