I don't think so, because many ppl use quickcharge nowadays getting phone extremely hot and sensor works perfectly(including me).
I believe that it was due to outdated firmware 16S

So anyone just bought phone with 19s will not have any problem with fingerprint ya?
So in 16s, something in the firmware killing the fingerprint scanner.

Not sure, some units could be defective from the beginning.
But in most cases I saw from other forum, 16S was guilty.

I read somewhere that sometimes the fingerprint can be fixed by flashing another room. I have never flashed a custom ROM, and I use the quick charge, and the fingerprint stills in perfect conditions.

Mine is now at 4th day and no flashing rom. Fingerprint still working. I will update in 1 month time.
After updating my phone from 15s to 16s (on the day i bought the phone) fingerprint sensor was dead. I sent the phone back to Amazon. They sent me another one which got the fingerprint sensor dead when i was registering fingerprint. I pissed off. Amazon agreed to replace again. Now it's been 9 months since i bought this phone and working good. I turned the quick charge on after updating to 19s. (14th October 2016) i didn't turned it off after that. ? even the sensor got few scratches. But no issue with it

Hello there is a serious problem if you do need touch sensor. For me eg it is bad to unlock phone after 1 minute if you are at home. There is somehow probable you will buy the phone and it will fail.Some guys who bought it on Ali received about 30USD for the failed touch sensor.

But my real concern is to know if x822 is as much affected as x820
Someone said to use the same finger 3 times instead of 3 different fingers. Try it.

I think that the x822 is the version which has more problems with the fingerprint, cause the fingerprint on my 822 is totally dead.
fingerprint issues are very often software problems, not hardware related.
My fingerprint sensor didn't work with several roms. After switching to 21s everything is o.k.
My is dead with 21s..i put 15s,16s and all roms in this forum but nothing to do..
On my x822 sensor also dead. Worked for 1 day on Indian rom 19s.
For the rest phone is really good.
I read in one forum that flashing 15s someone have reabilitate the fingerprint. I don t know if it s only a software problem..
on my X821 it's working fine. no instant unlock, but maybe 1 second
Mine is working well on stock 21s

It is a great deal, actually i do recommend you to not buy the x822 i have checked several comments and i determined that is the version which has more issues withe fingerprint, including mine which is a x822.
However maybe i am wrong, please feel free to ket me know if i am
My first X822 FP was dead after a day. The replacement unit's FP only lasted for a few hours. Manufacture date for both units are July, 2016. I strongly believe this batch of units are all defective. If you read the Chinese forum, there are many units with defective FPs bought recently on 11/11/16 (the big sale in China).
Unfortunately, I bought it from Hong Kong while I was on vacation, so I cannot return it or have it replaced. I have to live with it. Other than the FP issue, it's a great phone for the price.

Yes I can confirm this, I bought an x822 from July 2016 and the fingerprint scanner was dead on arrival.
Hey guys, Got my LG G5 a few days ago, upgraded from a G3. My issue is sometimes the power button doesn't register a click/lock the screen when i click on it, even when I do it multiple times. Anybody know what the problem could be? Or anybody experiencing the same issue?

I was able to recreate the issue reliably, if i click on the lower part of the button and not dead center, that's when it doesn't register the click, anywhere else and it does. Not that big a deal but honestly still kinda annoying, especially in a flagship device. I'll decide if i can live with it or return it using the warranty.

Many people experienced this problem, there is no clear solution, random comeback have been seen. No official statement from LeEco, nobody knows the root of this problem for sure. You might wanna contact to the shop where you placed the order, they should fix the issue in warranty.

Mine just stopped working now.. i hit 'calibrate fingerprints' and then it just stopped registering fingerprints. Do I really have to do a factory reset?
I don't think that it's dead. A workaround is playing around with different ROMs. I made a Nandroid backup of my working system (CM13) and startet playing around with different ROMs. Flashing 5.8.016S CUOCO92 solved the problem for me, so this should be a good starting point. If it doesn't work you can try other (EUI) versions (new installation, no dirty flash). Once your sensor is working you can restore your Nandroid Backup and the sensor should be still working.
It worked when i pressed it really hard during fingerprint identification, but not after the first time. And it was really slow. I fixed it by calibrating the fingerprint sensor multiple times until it started working, for a total of about 8-10 times. Try this if it happens! And by the way I'm on Cuoco92 5.9.020s and it unlocks in about 0.2s. The best thing to do is to register the fingers you use in different angles (straight and 90° for me), that way it has no issues of identifying it.

That's the exact problem,I ordered from aliexpress too and the phone just went like this after 2 days of usuage,it's currently about 4 months old and i just wish i could replace the fp scanner on my country

their problem solution isn't any different than any of here floating around

Now that's some next level bull****,there's definitely a hardware flaw and they're not ready to admit it
Heyyo, have you tried flashing the latest modem firmware? It helps with the fingerprint sensor a lot, especially on custom ROMs. Modem firmware also affects other hardware. Fixed the FP for my x829 using Chinese 23s firmware.

Already tried this but it doesn't work..
I already contact banggood for this flawed product, they ask me to send it back and refund. But if i do this i lost lots of money because i pay 60 usd duty and tax when i get this.
Plus i must pay th shipping back to their warehouse..

Hi all! So none of the ROMs here can fix the FP problem? I just got the phone not more than a week from Gearbest, then the FP just stop functioning all of the sudden. It can't even respond for the camera shutter
However, many thanks to those who posted excellent tutorials here. I just succesfully installed TWRP, but doesn't have any clue which ROMs might be the best bet to get the FP working again. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
I got my Le Max2 3 month ago. The FP was dead the second day after I receive it. Feel very bad about it. Tried many ROMs and modems, none of them work. This week, I tried the new Small EUI V15 with 26S ROM, the FP magically comes alive again. If you installed TWRP, it is good to the 26S rom to revive the dead FP.
the only rom that worked for me is RR
CN Firmware s26 fixed my FP issues on Pure Nexus Rom

If sensor is totally dead only solution is to order a new one and replacing it.

Based on randomness, I think FP is revived due to timing. I think you can flash any rom to revive it. Just that you need to keep flashing until it works
No it's Firmware related. I tried so many Roms until i read that CN fw s26 would fix IT and it did.

But, Aurel's rom is much better than the stock vendor rom that came preinstalled (BIG thanks to Aurel!!)

Mine just sprung back to life. I decided to try calibrating again just as I was reading this post. I calibrated it about 12 times, then restarted the phone. After that, I could register my fp again.
When it stopped working more than two months ago, I almost ordered the sensor, because I read here that it was definitely the problem, but then someone else said he could take pics by tapping the fp sensor. When I tried that, it worked. So, I concluded it was a software issue. I've been trying other stuff without success since it stopped working, but luckily, it worked today.
N.B.
I was on 23s when it stopped working. I flashed 26s immediately, and the other firmware someone uploaded, but there was no joy. However, I did a reset yesterday, and flashed back to 23s. I don't know if that actually helped.

Hello! A couple of days ago I received an used N9 bought on eBay. First at all, I noticed that the camera was not working showing a pop-up saying Can't connect to the camera, with black screen and nothing more. I get the tablet with Android 6, and to test with a new OS and clean installation, I upgrade to Android 7.1.1 Stock. I want to say that I don't did none modification on OS like a Custom OS, unlock bootloader, etc.
Also, I found this tablet very laggy, and with a extremely battery drain; from 50% to 36% in about 3 hours and WITHOUT any use (neither connection to WiFi), besides I could be exaggerated. Do you know some tips for this? Maybe a fix, a patch.

Now I have LineageOS with root and other stuff, but the camera still not working. The laggy issue was "solved" in a certain way, but it seems like is the encryptation from Nougat.
Also, I dared to disarm the back cover and check the healthy of cameras and I can saw that there never was been touched before, so I don't think that was a hardware issue or disconnection

Actually, I received the tablet with stock marshmallow, then, I charge to 100% and the last update was installed (7.1.1). In marshmallow the camera doesn't worked anyway. But I will try to put it in the Lollipop stock rom, to be sure. But first, I need to know if there is a risk when the tab is downgraded, and is possible, the safest way yo do it

Yes it's easy. You need adb and fastboot on your PC. The factory image has everything in it. You should just flash the full 7.1.1 image. Lollipop sucks on this tablet. Flashing the full image will likely fix your camera as long as it's not hardware related.
The camera should work fine with the stock system flashed. The camera works fine on all versions (yes marshmallow too). It works on all custom ROMs too. I'm using the latest AICP now and the stock camera (snap from LineageOS) and Google camera work fine. I like Google camera better though because the viewfinder fills the whole screen.

Did you format data? Warning that obviously wipes all data. Maybe clear data for camera app first to see if that helps

Yeah, full wipe. I tried clear the cache from app, but didn't worked either. At this moment I'm resigned to use the N9 without the camera (Maybe I will never use it, cause the only function that I use it's for video conference)

A couple of days ago, I take the tab once again in order to replace the back cover, and this time I went most deeper into cleaning, and VOILA! Both camera working again. I'm sure that the connection between camera and motherboard, was loose. Now I have no problems with them. Although remains being a little laggy (sometimes I need to restart due the freezes) it's a great tablet

I just got a used Nexusd 9 off Ebay and also get the black screen when I open the camera. I tried a different camera but get an error message saying it can't connect because the camera is in use by another application. I get this message even with the stock camera app disabled. I see the OP fixed it by removing the back but I am reluctant to do that for fear of screwing up something. I can certainly live w/o the camera but am annoyed that it wasn't disclosed by the seller.

On stock system the camera works. Some ROMs it's iffy. Try a different rom.

It is the stock ROM. I decided to return the tablet rather than waste a lot of time on it.
