I hadn't use miui, my first rom was Lineage 14.1. At this rom in gallary was an issue, some photos was below all photos, at top, and it was dated on 19 January 2038, but in details of photos was a real date. I tried to delete .thumbnails, gallery cache and data, I flashed MoKee 72.1 with full wipes, but and here is this issue, and in timeline this photos are always on top.
In google I haven't find any information about this issue, only about UNIX time.

srry for html code, but I cant explain issue without screenshots, but I haven't 10 posts.
Help pls, if u know something.
OK I'm from OnePlus 2 XOS 7 and have a same problem. It may cause by incorrect GPSDateStamp and GPSTimeStamp EXIF (@ 2038/01/19 03:14/07 UTC+0) tag and when rebuilding media database media server just read that 2 tag (and look like it is normal way it work...). for now I not sure what exactly is causing this problem but maybe GPS or camera2 API (Camera HAL3?) or App itself (some app does some app doesn't) play in a role.
---------- Post added at 04:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:04 PM ----------
but disable location saving will "fix" the problem (when on GPS it won't write both tag)
I had noticed that when I open camera app from vk/telegram/tweeter/other and made photos, they always are at top. If I open camera from launcher, photos which made this way are dated normal. Idk why.
And any photos from previous rom have issue, but they was made with normal way...
I just had the same issue and was able to fix the problematic pictures. Although I still don't understand why this happened in the first place. The fix happened by installing QuickPic app from play store then open the image details and hit Fix Date -> OK, done.

Do you have similar problems? When i open the app often it tries to syn and then force closes. Or it works for some time and then suddenly hangs...
I think this didnt happen before the .21 update. I already cleared cache and deleted data of the app, didnt really help :/
Could it be server related? The market had some problems as well a few days ago (on all my devices).
There are some posts here at XDA and over on androidforums.com's TFP forum discussing this problem. It started happening prior to this update (in my case, it appeared immediately after updating--I can't remember which update though).
To my knowledge, the only thing that temporarily helped some people (not including me), was doing exactly what you already tried.
If you want to work around it, you can set the general purpose Email app to get your GMail, and then deactivate your GMail syncing in your Accounts so that you won't be double notified (or you can just disable status bar notifications in the GMail app)
Oddly enough, this update seems to have fixed the problem for me. (well 2 days after crash, it's back to hanging again--gonna try and decrease the days synced to 7 down from 30 and see if that makes it any better)
Thx for the input ill try stuff and i'm sure ill find a solution sooner or later
The latest update seemed to help my Gmail crashing issues at first. Then yesterday I installed Currents and it started crashing again. I didn't think anything of the connection until I read a post on another forum saying that Currents was causing the crashes for someone. So I uninstalled Currents and so far no Gmail crashes today. It's probably just wishful thinking that the problem is fixed, but thought I would post anyway in case. I know this problem has been driving me absolutely crazy. The main reason I wanted a tablet, easy and convenient emailing... and I can't even freaking use the damn email app without it crashing every 5 seconds. Has me about ready to get rid of it and get an iPad.
---------- Post added at 10:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:17 AM ----------
Of course it crashed the second after I posted and tabbed back to Gmail....

Does anyone know where to try and get some support for this issue, btw? I tried with ASUS. Five days later I got a completely idiotic response that had nothing to do with the problem. I have tried submitting feedback via the Gmail app, which goes to Google I guess. No responses. I've been saving crash logs thinking that maybe SOMEONE would be interested in them, but apparently not...
After a few restarts and clear cache and app data the problem seems fixed^^ Didnt hang anymore for 2 days using it several times a day. Maybe it was related to forced 2d GPU rendering that i disabled at about the same time (just breakes too many games and apps for me - would be nice to be able to enable it only for certain apps!). Not sure though if that was it
oh yeah btw at one time when i rebooted there was a 1/1 Asus app update, didnt say which app but that was interesting as well. I was on .21 already at that point.
I did a factory reset and so far so good. Knock on wood.
I've noticed significant improvement on GMail stability since the update as well.
Clearing data from "Google Services Framework" also helps with these kinds of problems. At least for me... So far update helped...
Factory reset didnt do it for me Still crashing all the time.
Just downloaded a gmail update from google play market. crossed fingers that it fixes the crashes!

Well, at least I got to hold onto my optimistic outlook for a couple of hours before you obliterated it.
I've been thinking that i could get galaxy s3 but i want to know does screencast recorder (check it on google play store) work with that device? any1 have tried? And does it record 720p video 30fps. Some1 could try with free demo and upload the vid somewhere.
I've just bought Screencast.
I have a rooted s3 and stock ROM.
The video won't work - although the still screengrabs do work very well.
I posted a message to the developer and he said that it will work with the s3 but it needs tweaks - and to look here on XDA.
I don't see anything.
I notice that other people are saying that there are issues with the stock ROM as well.
With my s3, it starts recording but them stops very abruptly after a few seconds.
Every file if just 44bytes long and won't play.

This my experience with the demo as well. At the time I thought I probably just did something wrong...
Anyone know of any similar apps?
There are quite a few which do still screenshots - but it is mainly screencast and also ShootMe which can do video as well
ShootMe has not been updated to be compatible with the s£.
That leaves Screencast which the developer says is compatible but needs tweaking - but doesn't say what teaking it needs.
It does work sometimes and maybe it's coincidence but I found if you start recording and pull notification bar down while Screencast is still open then press home key to exit notification I found it always keeps recording.
Thanks for the tip.
I've tried what you have suggested and it doesn't work for me.
Still gives me heart to try a few more permutations.

Strange, ONce it has save its runt (44byte) file, the big recording button in the app goes to grey again - but the button the notification bar stays red as if it was still recording.
I really do wish that the developer would engage with this discussion. He's the one making money out of it, after all.
Looks like Shootme does work. The Market says it isn't compatible - but it is. You have to download it from some other source.
I got mine here http://rs20p1.rapidshare.com/cgi-bi...75D423511C1703F2A732A85F08C6E98E793B05368EB42
It certainly isn't as nicely featured as Screencast but it does video reasonably well
I would still like to get screencast working
---------- Post added at 05:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:46 PM ----------
Well don't ask me how - but Screencast has started working - and it is very very good.
I don't know if any of this had anything to do with it, but I downloaded Shootme and that worked.
Then I uninstalled Screencast and then downloaded and installed the demo version.
That didn't work either - exactly the same runt files as before.
I uninstalled it and then re-downloaded and installed the full version. The whole thing started working.
It really is very good. you can change the frame rate and have very smooth video. You can access the files from within the app. You can have mouse pointer appear to show your finger movements and key presses.
I hope that it doesn't stop again.
It's almost as if Screencast needs warming up before you can use it on S3, because after a few failed recordings it seems to sort itself out, so I'm guessing there's a settings or log file that gets rewritten in such a way that makes it work.
Well Screencast stopped working.
I lost root - don't ask me how.
I had to re-root and screencast wouldn't work and went back to its old buggy self.
Zero interest from the developer
is there another aplication that works??
I just checked my Screencast and it finally works. The trick is that U have to reinstall it.
My version is a paid one and I have similar issues as You, guys. I was very close to uninstall this app and to look for something different (actually & unfortunately we don't have any choice - I was looking in Google Play and I couldn't find anything), but decided to give it a one last shot
Btw, give it a few sec. when You start the app.
Any updates with Screencaster and the GS3? I still can't run it successfully.
Did you guys find any other option?

I've been trying to get screencast working on the sgs3.
finally getting some success using high setting within the app & also going into developer options in settings and turning on
disable hardware overlay and/or force GPU rendering. Im still playing about with the settings but its working so far.
Hope this helps.
I've Had this tab for almost 3 years with no problems. I purchased it unlocked, from Sony.
2 weeks ago the camera just stopped working. No drops, Splashes, or any other drama to the z3 tablet compact.
These are the things I've tried:
Sony companion re install of software(6.0.1 MM)
Factory data reset
Removed sd card
Reset all defaults
Cleared all camera data from apps and restart
Tried disable camera, and install 3rd party app from play store, front facing actually took a picture, but with no on screen preview, just black screen, I tapped the shutter button, it took the pic, rear camera still inop.
Tried the onboard support diagnostics camera test, it force closed the support app....lol
I'm running fully stock android 6.0.1 mm over the air download/Model # SGP612/Build # 23.5.A.0.575/ Android security patch level-March 1 2016
Kernel version- 3.4.0-perf-g43ea728/[email protected] #1/Friday April 22 17:27:56 2016
I now live in Thailand and the local Sony store says after getting my IDID# and serial #, they can not repair here.
I'm trying to avoid sending it in to Sony, but if I have to, does anybody have a link?
Thanks a lot for your help.
I have the same problem, on my note 3 with 9.7 temasek ROM and idle kernel 7.1.0, can any body help?
I have the same problem too. Im on stock marshmallow sgp621. Camera just suddenly stopped working and when the diagnostics camera test setting is used it shows support has stopped. I dont think im on warranty anymore. Im really hoping to get this fixed since this is my daily driver/phone. Im very much dependent on cameras in taking pictures of notes and stuff. Please help
Same problem. Someone could fix it?

I have issues with the camera om my Z3CT to. The camera app starts but isn't able to take any pictures. It seems that the hardware is stuck somehow (can't focus). Not sure if it's an issue with the fw or the hardware though. Try downgrade to earlier fw and check if it works, if it does it's probably related to the camera drivers. I never really use my tablet to take pictures (use my Z5C phone instead, and just sync the pictures with my tab), so it's not really a big issue for me.

Note 3 is a Samsung device, so you are in the wrong section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3
Not sure what to make of this, but it is a consistent and repeatable issue for my device. Please try it for yourself.
Launch Google maps driving navigation and audio from either Spotify or NPR One. Then try to launch the camera. The camera viewfinder stutters, the audio lags, it's almost unusable until I kill one of the three apps. In some cases the phone will kill navigation for me (or it will somehow die on it's own, not sure).
Very frustrating and not something I expect would be an issue for this high end device. Otherwise the phone is great but this is a use case I want to take advantage of and just can't.
Phone is stock. No root or any other mods.
Please open a regular thread.

You can open a regular thread here in the question section. The "Q&A format" you choose forces people to answer from a web browser.
This happened to me yesterday (wasn’t the first time...). I couldn’t figure out why the camera was so f——ed up until I read your thread. I had just driven somewhere using GMaps and streaming Spotify. I also use the Pixel 2 modded camera app and it does not have this lag issue after running these two apps, but still happy to know what the cause is for the next time!
Hi, i wanted to ask if anyone is having a similar bug like mine after getting the android 10 update (i am on europe rom).
What the problem is, every time i try to take a picture of something using the flashlight, and focusing on something, the picture comes out so dark. If i use the "torch" mode the pic comes out normal. I'll attach two pictures down below, one with the flashlight on (firing just when taking the pic) and one with the torch which is so much brighter and you can tell the difference.
It seems a timing error. Whether the flashlight flashes light before the picture is captured or after the picture is captured. Try using a different camera app or reset the phone.

Yeah i noticed that too, it only happens on the stock cam app. The flash seems to fire a bit early but i dunno if there's a fix for that or if i can replace my cam app with an older or newer cam so that bug can be fixed
I updated to the last available version with android 10 (europe), the stock app with automatic flash works as expected.
But I use usually the open source camera -> open camera.
Maybe reset the camera app or try open camera ?
I've been having camera issues lately after the update too mine are a little worse though. The quality has reduced severely and it seems worse with hdr on.

So apparently it's not just me, have you tried doing a factory reset after the update? I plan to do that but I'm so lazy and i dunno if it's even gonna work ? so for now our chance is just wait for miui 12 maybe the new cam app will get it all fixed

I have not updated yet. Reason:
I installed orangefox recovery and removed some system apps. And now when I receive update, the update file downloads but does not install. I may flash fastboot rom, but I am still considering to continue using unbloated MIUI 11.
Anyway, if it is a common problem it will be fixed very soon. Because when it is common a large group of device is affected. So a fix update will/may release fast. I remember xperia p had same problem. It was fixed by an update.
Oh i really hope so, this is really annoying anyways

Other than the camera bug, I'm pleased with the new update. My phone does seem to perform a little better than before.
