Sony Xperia E3; Flashmode; Problem; - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I'm trying to get new software to my Sony Xperia E3 but computer can't see my phone in flashmode.(Fastboot is ok)
When I normally turn on a phone I can see boot screen (Sony, Xperia) and it stay on this.
I can see green light on phone but computer can't see it.
I'm using sony mobile flasher by Androxyde.
How I can solve this?

So, let's resume in correct terms:
-You tried to flash something using Odin but your computer does not detect your device.
-Now you got into a bootloop.
Is that correct?

No. Phone restarted by itself, started loading android and turned off.
It's everything.

Hello
if u are using windows 8 you must disable verification and then reinstall drivers
also try reinstalling drivers from the folder in the /flashtool/drivers folder
make sure you are not using a 3.0 usb port, it causes many issues.
Good luck!

x10a + bricked + unable to get flashmode or windows to detect

Hi Guys!
My original x10a was sold to a close friend of mine, whom accidently accessed the xRecovery menu, and select to delete the SYSTEM and DATA partition.
Now he is stuck on a endless loop of being on the Sony Ericsson boot logo text screen.
Only way to power off the phone is to physically remove the battery.
Anyways, I am trying to complete a factory reset with the 2.1 firmware, so far, I am out of luck.
I have WIN 7 x64 running, with both 32-bit 64-bit JAVA SE and development
I also have installed Android SDK, wit all the possible packages, including USB Driver Revision 4
I also have Flashtool downloaded from this website, which included the SEMC drivers.
Problem is...I cant get the computer to recognize the phone at all.
I tried even Sony Update Software as well as Companion software, with no luck.
I am physically in flash mode ... solid green LED, but the computer is not detecting the phone at all.
Flashtool is advising to connect my Xperia phone, when clearly my phone has the solid green LED with black screen (hold down back button and connecting the USB)
First I thought it was the cable, which I replaced with a OEM one, still no luck.
I removed the SD card, 16gb from the phone, and connected through my computer for flash memory sticks drive (all in one), and the card was blank.
I am presuming my friend would have deleted SDCARD data as well
So, now I am stuck in a limbo, how do I fix this?
just to give you hope, if you see the se logo that means that your phone isn't bricked.
it's probably some driver that's not installed properly. I'll let someone with real knowledge explain whatto do.
Something like this happened to me. I know it sounds stupid, but have you tried rebooting your computer?? I did that, and it worked again.
Uninstall SEUS,PC Companion and then reboot the PC.
Then download SEUS and install it. Start SEUS , go through the process. It should detect it now.
Can you access xrecovery? If you Can, download a custom ROM, follow the instructions to install.
Don't forget to extract your ROM to sdcard.

Hi All!
Thanks for the input, I do appreciate it.
I am at work right now, but will try it this evening and let you know how it proceeds.
Just as an FYI, I did restart my computer once the Java, SE Companion, SEUS, and Google SDK were installed, still had no luck, but I will try again
To access the xRecovery, it is pressing back button couple of times right?
But the SD is blank, should I use a PC to initialize the SDcard with Xrecovery and everything?
Try this steps...
1-Download a custom ROM to your sdcard and extract. (Use your PC)
2-Reboot your x10 and press a back buton many times.
3-Make following in Xrecovery
*Factory reset
*Wipe cache partition
*Wipe dalvik cache
*Wipe Battery stats
*Install custom ZIP
*Reboot
*Let the phone 5 minutes alone please...

you gotta uninstall seus and pc companion, and uninstall all the x10 drivers, then reinstall seus and pc companion
Hi why don't you use flashtool to flash a new rom? I had read in somewhere else here about this tool and seems to work flawlessly to recover bricked xperia..
End of Life ....
Hi Guys!
Sorry for the late reply,
Been extremely busy with work.
Anyways, it seems I got myself a malfunctioning motherboard or broken/damaged usb connector.
Thus, I can't do anything, it is going to cost me $150 bucks to repair.
I cant get into flash mode, as soon as I do that (the green led), windows states that USB device has malfunctioned and my Xperia continuous to the boot logo screen and stuck there.
I tried just about everything, unless anyone else knows better way?
Just to prove the USB connector is damaged, the wall-charger is not even working when the USB is connected
This sounds really extreme. Can you charge the phone? Can you connect the phone to the computer and get a solid green light - ie - flash mode?
I've encountered a similar problem, the battery is completely drained, so much so that it can not connect to the wall charger, can not connect to anything at all.. just gives three flashes of red led then stops.
The only solution is to charge the battery for a few minutes in another X10 and then with enough power, get back into the phone for long enough to re-establish charge being sent to the battery.
IF you have charge and are able to get to the white SE logo, you just need to use the SEUS software to force restore of the stock firmware.

Just one more question, have you tried changing the USB port? Sometimes the device ID gets messed up and the only way is to switch to another USB port and make sure the phone connects to the computer with the USB cable and that you have a device id.
EDIT: Worth looking into these two threads;

Problem is I am not sure what your exact problem is as I would like to help more!
The newest version of Flash Tool has drivers package included, it worked for me without installing (or reinstalling) SEUS or PC Companion. Look for a 'drivers' subfolder inside the extracted files.
Can you charge the phone?
My USB port has completely died and I've not a working phone even, so I'm unable to work on custom kernels or anything - I don't have an X10 any-more until this USB port on the phone gets re-soldered

SEMC USB Driver won't install

Hello,
i got a little Problem with my X10 (2.3.3 - rooted) and my Notebook (Acer - Win 7 64 bit).
I tried all ways to install the driver to use USB-Debugging but it won't install. The Device-Manager still tells me SEMC USB as unknown
I tried the usual way, start the phone with holding 'back', install the drivers manually...
Are there any other ways to get it working ?
Same goes for me,
Device manager states that the device is unknown, flashtool not working, PC companion no hope (connected to different USB ports including those of the motherboard).
it used to work but no chance now.
it charges normally from the USB (Orange LED) but would not connect to the PC.
Details:
Windows 7 x64
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
Bootloader Unlocked Xperia X10 with 2.3.3 ROM and Doom's Kernel (the latest one)
The guy here says it is related to either windows windows update or faulty cable

Didn't help...
But installing PC Companion did it
PC Companion install drivers automaticlly, that is the best solution.

I tried removing and installing PC Companion but it didn't work either.
Any help guys?
Changing the computer had no effect as well
You must install SEUS ( Sony Ericsson Update Service ). Only SEUS will install right driver. Problem with SEUS is that when you look on SE official site, they tell you that SEUS for X10 no longer persist, and they guide you to PC companion which is crap.
Try this: try to connect your phone with PC, in flash mode. PC will try to install your phone driver but it can't find it. Then in Action Centar, on PC, (a small flag in sys tray, right down corner of a screen) find solution for this problem, and windows will automatically find SEUS over net. Install and enjoy.
from X10i via XDA premium
tried that but no luck as well (even in flash mode SEUS can not detect the device)
Thank you
hello i found a way and it worked for me download flash tool and extract it look for a folder called drivers in there u will find something called ggsetup-2.2.0.10
run this install it and all done
@huzi7868 thank you for your help
However, that didn't succeed and I reinstalled windows and drivers again, but still not working
Even no luck when the phone is in flashmode
Just tried it on a third Computer and checked the cable but the cable is working on another HTC Desire but not on my Xperia X10 (I mean my X10 cable), however they are both charging
try flashtools, there's a folder called 'drivers' in it, open it and click on the installer

I agree, I also have solved in this way.
Download the latest version of Flashtool and after installing it you will find in the "drivers" folder the file "Flashtool-Drivers.exe".
Run it and select the drivers you need. Then connect again your Xperia X10
I really appreciate your help, but I had done that 3 times and on different computers but "USB Device not recognized"
As I sad before, use SEUS to install SEMC USB DRIVER. I have win 7 64bit, and I install driver on it. First, install Update service. When its finished, start Update Service and follow instruction (check "Licence Agree" button, and click next, then pick your phone, X10i I suppose, be carefull there is two X10, One is X10, and other is X10 SO-01b. I pick X10 for myself, and press NEXT. Turn off your phone, press and hold BACK button on phone while connecting with PC via USB. HOLD till you see message to release BACK button. Till then your driver will be installed.
Download SEUS from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SBDVZ3DG
@Dzufa Thank you, but I had done that before and tried it again, whenever I connect the phone pressing the back button the green LED illuminates and "USB device is not recognized" appears and nothing happen after that, SEUS just behaves like nothing is connected.
Try with this one. And I think you must be online, because SEUS must download some files.
I really did that and of course updated SEUS, as I said green LED illuminates and nothing happens even in flash tool (it used to work for ages but suddenly it stopped, it only charges)
BTW, I had flashed many kernels and ROMs before it happened so I am quite familiar with flashtool and SEUS, I unlocked the bootloader using 9lucas method and it worked after that I installed XSP ROM and the USB worked as well, however after 2 weeks or so, one day I left it connected it to the PC and I found that the phone turned off and refused to power on, I left it for a while in the charger then powered it on and it powered on, then it has refused to connect to the PC through USB since then.

[Q] Help!! tried everything but still stuck at bootloop

Hi guys, i have looked everyway but still couldnt find solution to my X10 mini 's problem. Please help me!
I managed to root and install xrecovery on my x10 mini(elcair) with flashtool. Took the next step and tried to install CWM recovery, and use it to run miniCM6.
After the white sony ericsson logo disappeared, the blue android with the spinning light appeared, but now it seems get stuck here.
I tried using PC companion to restore my phone, but when my phone go into flashmode, there's a windows pop-up saying the USB driver failed to install and USB device cannot be recognized. Tried using flashtool but it doesnt work either. When i tried charging the phone with the charger, the green LED light did not light up too. I was wondering whether its hardware or software problem. Anyone faced similar problem before or knows what can i do next?
Welcome to Xda!!
Make sure you have installed the drivers for the phone. If you are using win7 it shouldnt be a problem as it searches for the drivers and does find it.
For winXP, install flashtool; After installation, go to C:/flashtool/drivers and run the file; it will install the drivers.
Keep the forum posted
cheers

Try to flash your phone through Flashtool, see if that works. Uninstall Xperia Companion before doing anything. Download Flashtool, install it, and you will have there folder named Drivers, which is located in destination where you installed flashtool, usually C:/Flashtool . Run the Flashtool-drivers setup from drivers folder, and select flashmode drivers and fastboot drivers, when you finish that, restart the computer. After, while your phone is turned off, press and HOLD the VOLUME DOWN button, and while holding that connect the usb cable, keep holding, until the PC regonizes you phone, and installs the necessary drivers, and if he does, green notification light will turn on. If a green notification turns on, disconnect your phone, download the necessary firmware, and flash it through flashtool. If you dont know how to do that, just write me back, and i will explain you, detail by detail. Dont try anything with flashtool on your own, if you are not familiar what are you doing. Just ask for help. I'm will be here for a few hours.
No reaction
Followed your instructions but got no reaction from phone, it says it Needs a driver because its an unknown device.

Hmm, strange, even when you connect phone to usb while holding down the volume button, say it's unknown device? Which Windows do you use? It could be maybe something with the drivers...
Im using Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit,
Can i manually select my device via flashtool?
No, you can't. Flashtool should automatically recognize your phone, if you have the right drivers, and if your phone is "alive".
