How to restore Titanium backups on a new ROM. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
Plan to flashing Nethunter on my OPO phone.
I would like to restore some of my apps & data (backed up) using Titanium backup.
i.e. GAAP, Tunein Radio app, some games.
My phone will have a full wipe except internal storage before I install Nethunter.
I have copied the TB folder containing my bkup apps & data to a flash drive.
How do I get my apps & data restored in Nethunter once it is flashed?
I have the Free version of TB.
Thanks.
TC.

Titanium Backup after erasing /sdcard

I want to wipe /sdcard and then to restore apps and data. So what I'll do:
1. Titanium Backup for all apps and data.
2. Wipe /sdcard.
3. Reinstall a fresh Titanium Backup.
But -- Titanium Backup is now fresh, so it doesn't have the apps and data backup I made earlier to restore from.
So the question is:
Does it suffice to copy the entire old Titanium Backup directory into the fresh (and empty) Titanium Backup directory?
Will the option 'restore missing apps with data' show all the stuff I backed up?
Mmm I did this when I moved to a custom JB rom. Like you said if you wipe sd card you will loose all the TB data. I'm not sure if you can move the TB folder to your pc then move it back after the wipe to restore your apps. I personally decided not to as I wanted to make sure I only had JB compatible apps on my phone as I was moving from an ICS rom. Perhaps other users have done this and can advise further.

[Q] Does TWRP not backup apps on ext sd?

I just restored a nandroid I had and all the apps I had moved to the sd were missing. Is there a way to correct this or do they have to be in the phone storage to be included in the backup? Of course I had everything in TiB, but that's not the same. When I do a nandroid I expect it be exactly the way I left it.
a nandroid backup usually includes the system, data, and boot images. user apps are usually installed on the data partition, but if you chose to move apps to your sd card via application settings then it would not be backed up.

Best way to backup?

Ok. so i was thinking about installing some custom roms and using them for a few days weeks to see how they perform but i was wondering what the best way to back up my apps/data and contacts would be so they can easily be restored after i have installed a new rom.
I dont have a memory card for my phone so i just have the 16gb internal memory so if i use an app that saves the backup to my phone would i just transfer the backup data from my phone to pc then after i have factory reset/wiped the cache and dalvik and intalled the rom put the backup file back on?
Also is there anything i NEED to back up on the phone or is it just the stuff i want like app data and contacts?
Thanks.
titanium backup
thank you.
Because i will be factory reseting the phone before i install the new rom will i need to move the titanium backup from my phone to computer?
will the reset and wipe delete the backup?
Use as said titanium for data and apps and gmail for contacts sync. You can copy the titanium files to your computer just in caseto be safe.

Just remember that if you wipe sd and you don't have external, then you won't have a Rom to flash to so you will be left with choice of either pushing the zip to sd with ADB, or flashing stock/rerooting/cwm/etc
R: Best way to backup?
Yeah man try to keep it simple...
just make a full backup with titanium backup pro (set backup folser to external sd card or just move the backup to the sd card when its done) it will require a lot of space if u had a lot of apps...
Flash all you want and put the new rom on the phone.
Then remember to have the titanium backup apk ready on your sdcard to be installed when ure done setting up the new rom(or go get it back off the play store if you wish), then install titanium and restore from the backup folder...simple

1. Titanium Backup
2.Carbon
3.My Backup Pro
4.Nandroid backup from recovery if you ever want to go back to an old rom.

[Q] How to make full (!) backup

Hi folks,
I would like to know how I can create a complete backup of my I9300. I mean not only with Titanium Backup and Nandroid. I would like to backup the complete data of my apps, including the internal memory. Titanium Backup, etc. do not provide the possibility to backup the data from apps like Vaulty or Spotify. The settings of the apps will be backed up by TB, but for Vaulty not the images and videos and for Spotify not the downloaded songs and so on.
Can somebody help me?
Nandroid will backup same stuff as titanium, apps + internal data. Titanium is for rom change and restoring specific apps + internla data.
Backup your internal sd files with a simple copy paste to your pc.

[Q] Need help with Flashing

Ok - In TWRP, I have made a backup of my phone (though I don't think internal storage is an option??)
I have my ROM, in this case I am using Cyanogen.
I do a full wipe and flash and flash the ROM.
My question lies with apps and internal storage. Since none of my apps that I installed are there, but some of their data is in internal storage, what is the best way to deal with that?
For instance, I have a gas log app that isn't there after flashing but its data is on Internal Storage.

Copy or download the ROM, Gapps, and any other flashables to your internal SD card.
Backup any app data that you may want to carry over (For me this is usually contacts, SMSDB, Chomp Settings, Nova Settings. You may have different ones.) . This can be done to the local device, to Google through sync, or another cloud storage service.
When this is complete, Reboot to TWRP.
Wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache.
Make a nandroid backup of partitions: System, Data.
Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache.
You would then install: CM ROM, G Apps, then any additional mods that you want (LG Quick Remote, TBO Black Telegram, etc).
Reboot to System and wait a good 5 minutes before touching the device.
Sign in to Google account(s), sync, restore any app data that you manually backed up.
As far as coming from a stock ROM, there are a few files leftover in the internal storage. Some may be in the /sdcard/ root directory. Others for apps may be installed in /sdcard/Android/ and subdirectories. These may also be manually deleted if you are not carrying them over or no longer using them. Easier to use a file explorer like ES here to be more precise.
restore any app data that you manually backed up.
through Titanium Backup or Reinstall all apps through Play?
Also, can Visual Voicemail still work?

Depends how important your Candy Crush level is to you. I would not use Titanium Backup, just pull the apps from Play and restore therewithin. For SMS, use SMS Backup & Restore in both the old and new ROMs.

I think that it requires a stock-based ROM to use it with Verizon or most carriers. There are also third party services that you can use to free yourself of the carrier, add features, and manager your voicemail visually. Google Voice/Hangouts is cheapest and least featured, but it gets the job done.
