So, I bought this watch second hand. Before I factory reset it once it arrived, and before upgrading to 2.0, the speaker worked. I verified with the seller, and I recall a sound or two playing via the speaker.
Post 2.0 update, NO SOUND works at all. Mic is fine though.
Anyone else experiencing this? Is this a known bug (can't find any real verification).
Any way to downgrade without the charger cable being on hand?

as in title: after installing latest OTA update friday, the headphone jack stopped outputting sound.
plug the ol' klipsches in and nothing. sound keeps coming out of phone speaker.
(yes, i did confirm they work on anther device. yes, i did try another set of headphones on razr. no sound)
never been a problem before, pretty good assumption that it's software related.
searching the interweb and forums but no one else seems to have this issue. dug into settings and there doesn't seem to be an option to adjust/select jack so at a loss.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.

Headphone jack works fine here with new update. XT912vzw
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
Works on mine after upgrade. Tried two different headsets and both work fine.
Clear the lint out of the headphone jack. Reach in there with a paper clip or something.
i just had this problem too.
a simple reboot helped me thought, but im sure you already tried that

Weird. After update mine still works. Are you rooted? Maybe flash back to stock to see if it works and then update.
I am having the exact same problem and I have restarted a couple times, thought I was going crazy
I had the same exact issue. I did not even think to link it to the update. The phone would not detect the headphones. I just kept unplugging and plugging the headphones back in till the phone recognized the headphones, and since then I have not had an issue.
I had the same problem after the upgrade. Nothing is able to fix it yet, any other suggestions??

I had headphone issues with my Razr too. And it appeared to happen after rooting BUT it wasn't related to the rooting at all. It was just a bad headphone jack. Moto seems to have problematic headphone jacks on a few of their phones. I got my replaced.
Try unrooting it and doing a factory restore. If the headphone jack still doesn't work before you root it again then you know what your problem is.
Verizon rep told me that the broken headphone jack is a known issues. Call Verizon to get a replacement.

It is nothing to do with the upgrade. There seems to be no bugs on the audio script. The solution is to reheat the audio amplifier (placed in the reversed board of headset connector). If not replaced the defective audio amplifier i.c...This will solve your problem.
My internal speaker & mic stopped working on my 6 week old Lumia 800- bluetooth & speaker phone was fine.. I soft & hard reset it but no joy.
took it to the Nokia service center that said they'd seen this before & they couldn't fix. It would have to be sent off for 10days or so.. Not impressed by this I told him to go jump...
On the way home I had an idea that this could be related to the headphone jack.. so re-plugged & unplugged headphones - and it was fixed !
clearly with certain 3.5mm plugs the jack doesn't always recognise that the plug is taken out & re-enable the internal speaker..
perhaps it was just mine (like it was new & a bit stiff ) or something to watch out for generally.
You should tell the Nokia shop guy to help anyone else with that problem
It's just yet another bug in the firmware. Sometimes if you unplug your headphones very slow or very fast it doesn't recognize it...
just like the iphone
That was the same issue with iphones for awhile. I used to have to "fix" that daily when I worked for at&t.
I think we should post all of these small, fixable issues and codes into one single thread titled "known problems and easy fixes" because nokia/ms websites blow at providing solutions. I had to use them multiple times this week because of a defective phone but they give you the way to do something if your phone was functional, not a way to fix something not working properly. It's a ****ing joke.

good idea - he said "nokia never tells you that sort of thing"
BTW it isn't firmware related.. I did a hard reset -so any state would have been wiped. The switch is part of the jack plug.

Hard reset doesn't affect your FW. I still think it is a bug in the drivers.
I picked up a secondhand lumia 800 yesterday everything was fine until I stuck my headphones in and before coming across this thread all I done to remedy the issue was reinsert my headphones 2/3 times and it sorted itself out I think there maybe a dodgy headphone switch in these phones although I have used other headphones since that and it hasn't repeated itself.
My Amaze 4G for T-Mobile was rooted with s-on and flashed with Revolution HD 4.0 about half year ago. I had to change the digitizer/LCD assembly because it went dark. That went rather smoothly. However, the mic stopped working after that. I can hear people but they can't hear me. I did re-flash with the same ROM after the repair since the phone was having some other issues I thought might be software related. Didn't test the mic before the flash though.
The symptoms and what I've done so far:
-- People can't hear me during call. Turning on speaker doesn't help. Using a headset with built-in mic works.
-- The voice recorder app can't record a thing. Tapping the phone doesn't record either, so it's not dirt blocking the hole. AndroSensor app shows no sound input.
-- I can record video WITH sound. This was actually done after I replaced the mic PCB. Does this mean the mic is OK or the phone has another mic?
-- Re-flashed and tried another ROM, same thing.
-- Flashed back to stock T-Mobile ICS ROM, no good.
-- Installed SoundAbout app, played around with it, i.e., the headset plug trick, still no dice.
Since I can record video with sound, I feel it's more like a software problem, unless there's a secondary mic used for video recording but not phone calls. The sound doesn't seem to be recorded through the mic hole at the bottom as blocking it with my finger doesn't reduce the volume. I'm thinking to try the stock Gingerbread ROM as a last resort.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Since the Amaze records video in stereo, I have to assume there are at least 2 mics.

Make sense. It was working fine before I changed the digitizer/LCD. Thought I might broke something during the process. Checked the cables and they looked OK, so I replaced the microphone PCB but that didn't help. Could be a bad PCB though. May try to ask seller for a replacement. Does the problem sound like a software issue to anyone? I went ahead re-flashed the stock GB ROM but failed. I read somewhere the phone needs to be S-Off to do that. Any suggestions what else I can try to fix it?

Not a notion. It would be nice if there was some sort of schematic or youtube how-to for the mic. As for getting to S-Off, there is guide if necessary--do a search.

Replacing the mic PCB was easy, figured it out by myself. Can't be sure if I broke something else during the repair. I did search for S-Off guides and it seems the wire trick under Linux is the only way to go now. Since putting back the stock ICS ROM didn't help, I don't think the stock GB ROM will do any good either. The phone had ICS when I rooted it. Requested a replacement of the mic PCB I bought, let's see how that goes.

Good luck.
Hi all,
Not been on here for a while and sorry if this is in the wrong place.
Wife has dropped her Galaxy S3, then kids decided to help it with water.
Replaced the cracked glass, cleaned everything with alcohol and now phone looks fine and screen works, back keys work (after a few attempts).
But i have two issues remaining and i thought i would see if your experience can help me out with whether i should give up and sell for parts or there's something i'm missing.
Nothing coming through on the Mic, even if i connect a 3.5mm headset. Tried to go with a bluetooth headset as a workaround but it couldn't even find my Plantronics M55.
I'm not sure if the Mic issues started after the accident or after the recent OTA update
Any suggestions/pointers would be appreciated.
Factory reset has also been done to rule out the junk she installs on it
Thanks in Advance
Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllo XDA peeps.
so ages ago we all got the marshmallow update and i must say, issues have been a real thing. I did consider ROMS but too risky as i use this phone daily for business's and such.
Anyway so one problem I can not find across the whole internet is the AUX cord problem, now when i drive, I plus in the cord and this notification appears saying "Headset is connected" then disappears, then repeats almost 8 times and lags my phone which after this, goes to normal and finally works. However!
I found that in lollipop I had never had this issue, I just plug in and it works perfectly. As well as this, I found its not a hardware issue, reason being is that other headphones work, every set of headphones i plug in work like a charm.
I have cleared data and cache from smart connect, even disabled it and nothing. Ive booted in safe mode, nothing.
I really just want this sorted as I love this phone, I do. Im not sure if this is a Marshmallow update bug or something but if any fix can be found or advised to me; Id love you forever, because i miss being able to just plug in and play and not waiting for this bug to simply calm itself from this spasm.
Lag is an issue, I have no clue why but it seems the newest update caused things to get hot, lose alot of battery quick and just plain ol' lag. Any fixes on this to is perfect, at the moment though I iwsh to get the AUX cord fixed as a priority to lag.
Anyway, thanks guys and hope to hear something soon! After all, this is a 007 phone, bond never had these issues
Are you sure its not the physical connection on your phone? May it happened to get damaged when you upgraded MM.
Headphones work fine for me. I recently got a rental car with no bluetooth and bought a cheapo stereo cord to hook to the car's speakers and I saw this occur. No lag though. The major annoyance was that goggle play music would stop thinking the headset was unplugged. After some dangerous debugging while driving, it seemed like one end of the chord was defective. When I swapped the problem went away.

Literally nothing hardware related, the cord in my car works fine with other devices. It's very weird and as I say, I did a short test and found that lollipop on this device actually creates no problem, I then updated tonight and found it happens again.
I think it's more software related and I hope android N is just a pure wave ?
I have the same issue.
So so many problems with this phone ?
I have the same problem as well. What I do is plug the jack, wait for it to finally recognize it and then launch the app I need
