Heyy everyone,
I am looking for tweaks/apps/mods etc which can increase the performance of our Mido. Sd625 seems to me like a little downside on raw power. It's fine in day to day tasks, but games like Asphalt Xtreme tend to lag.
Also if you can suggest something for battery saving.
Or maybe some better alternative to below mentioned stuffs.
Here are the things I have currently been using..
~AOSPex
~Faust Kernel, with Gaming mode while in games.
~Greenify
~Servicely, to disable unwanted services, mostly Google play services.
~SD Maid, to freeze unwanted apps and clean up regularly.
~LSpeed, for all sort of tweaks.
~Trimmer, for file system trim.
~Speed up Swap, for adjusting swappiness.
Anything apart from this you guys know of?
I would be pleased to know.
Wrong place to ask.

If you're using MIUI then go to Dev options, set memory optimization to low. Free RAM is waste, I don't care about battery life which the RAM takes. App launch times matter for me.

Okay, use some app like Kernel Adiutor (not a typo), you can tweak a whole lot of things there, cpu governor for instance.
Also, I've experienced using Greenify benefits in performance gains in short term only, long term usage of Greenify may degrade performance. Repeating, this is my experience and I claim nothing about it.
For performance things, I don't really tweak my phone much, after trying nearly everything (except custom kernel) it seems like keeping phone to normal probably gives better results on long term. Just use that (1st line) tool to tweak small things. Also, just to tell ya, I don't play games.
Tell something about which ROM you're using. Also, are you experiencing lags over there?

My 20 year old cousin sister is looking for a Android phone and the ACE just about fits in an extended budget.
Is the phone good? Or are there any better alternatives at similar prices?
The internal memory at 158Mb seems too low, is this a problem?
Will she be able to run games like Angry Birds?
She needs a stable ROM and will not be messing up with the phone much. Which ROM / Kernel is recommended?

Ya! Its a good phone! But RAM is low! Games like Angry birds will hang a bit! But overall its a good phone and u can move to cm7 to play angrybirds without any problems! Also lagfree is a must install for all ace users! U can check android development section for more info.

If you know how to install ROM's and the necessary additions, 158 mb is not a problem. And this phone is damn good. Easy to flash ROMs and make the phone easily modified.

Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman at almost same price in mumbai.. and worth of price as more ram + processor + 320MB storage + ICS + walkman quality.... so it would be worth that money...
if you like ace then you might want to wait for some time as ace plus is expected to be launched at 15k with some good improvements
since she wont be messing about with the phone much, maybe stock roms would be better(functions like swipe to call) try ICS stock by rushabh25 its in the development section

Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
This was my first Android phone so I really don't have vast experience, but I have learned to install CM7.2, many mods, hacks, etc and the phone is going like a champ, so it can take heavy modding and inexperienced users.
It is true that the limited internal memory is a problem, at least to me and it lags a bit playing games, even being OC'ed and optimized by scripts.
I do still recommend it, just make sure you install a lightweight launcher and try to keep the always running apps (facebook, twitter, whatsapp, etc) to the minimum those precious MBs of ram do hurt the performance, also disabling big, heavy widgets has shown improved performance.
Do not try to overclock over 902Mhz, I keep mine at 884Mhz though at 902 it was able to run normally throughout the day, but when playing games or doing CPU intensive tasks I do get hard resets.
I hope this helps you in making your mind.

That's fairly normal, leave android to manage ram, it does it pretty effectively, and certainly do not use third party apps to try and manage ram,, unused ram is wasted ram in android terms

Believe it or not...its an issue that related to the framework of Android...other Android based flagships also have this "issue" so to speak...hence, Google has been trying hard to roll out Project Button to counter this issue by force V-Syncing to ensure high FPS allowing a more smoother interface...IIRC, Project Butter is coming out? or already out? which should further improve the overall smoothness of Android. This is also partly why many low-end devices are still ICS due to lower hardware requirements.
I would hope to see this resolved in the future

To overclock you need a kernel that can be overclocked.
The device may then be slightly faster, and will drain the battery much faster, and possibly damage.
Realy, this is not the phone for gaming, you can buy a better one for gaming (not that much better) for about $250 from China.
What you can do, it try to disable some feature you don't use or replace some apps with mods, for less lag and better battery life, or try one of the ROMs that are out there.

There is that "Force GPU rendering" in developer options, you won't see much saving from it.
Better identify what is causing drain that you can give up, and disable it.
What kind of battery life you have now, standby and screen on?

I use dialer and phone from [ JB ] [Apps ] [P,U,Go,Sola! ] Dark Themed Xperia Apps it may have a little delay when first oppened, the call log is laggy in portrait modenot much to do about it, but no lag when making or receiving a call. It also has speed dial and the phone has call recording.
"minimum usage" we can't compare.
My today stats are, 60% drain for a day and 7 hours, wifi and BT on, 3G data off,, screen on 1 hour 20 minutes, and 10 minutes call time, apps running viber, facebook and yahoo messenger.
I'm with The Dark ROM, and with stamina mode you can get over 3 days without charging.
+ use Greenify from Play store. It is really good app. for better battery life.
You're busy and don't have time to wait, which is why you need to stop reading this thread and get back to organizing your Pogs. Rate this thread to express how the Honor 8 Pro performs when multitasking. A higher rating indicates that the Honor 8 Pro keeps many apps in memory so that they don't need to reload, and that when moving between apps, transitions are smooth and performance is excellent.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
6gb ram is enough for anything you through at it. All the apps once loaded are staying in the ram for almost ever. For once in the first week with my phone, I was playing contra on it and then left it as is. After few days, I wanted to switch to some other app and found contra there, it was still paused with contra shooting. I don't even remember how many days it was like such.
There is a feature where you can blacklist an app or allow it to be closed on locking of the device which will remove the app from the memory. This is to optimize the battery life. So other than the social apps and certain apps which I switch to mostly, I've blacklisted all other apps.

6gb ram is soooo goddamn sweet.
It handles multitasking single handed.
Good RAM management, all apps are stored in RAM quite well.
multitasking is handled pretty well. 6 GB RAM is handling this exceptionally well.
6gb ram is enought for multitasking and also relly impress with management.
ram is more than enough for heavy multi tasking..
You can leave all apps in memory and you'll still have some left.

Great bro
You have 3 options for tweaking
Battery
Balance
Performance
Even with battery option performance is great
On my coustem config I had 0.3% per H, over night and ~1% per H idle draw on the day.
I first installed the magic Modul, but noticed the version is super old. I removed the magic Modul and install just the APK https://github.com/Paget96/LSpeed .
As far as I can see, it doesn't need magic Modul.
The app is easy to use. But it doesn't save your configs, even when use backup and restoring, so after an reboot need to config it again.

So... my 2cents after a few days of usage...
I have the Balance profile enabled, no other tweaks. Same usage between 2 days... one with, one without the app. With the app saved me 5% battery life.
In fairness, not really enough of a savings to make it worth keeping for me... I'll be testing Battery over the next few days and will report back on that.

I don't think so, but all this does it apply "universal" random tweaks that has not been needed on a smartphone since 2012.
Using this one a phone with the latest flagship precessor is completely unnecessary and in worst case scenario, harm your phone.
