I'm on XDA labs, and when I click "my device", it says I have a Galaxy SII and shows me those forums.
I just got a kick out of it - I assume it's not just mine that's doing that?
Mine shows as a note 8

Mine showed Note 8 up until last night, now shows Galaxy SII! XDA? Smh...
[Update]
I fixed by going to New, searching for "Galaxy Note 8" and adding two areas to favorites. Then went back to My Device and re-searched for Note 8 and found it and now it's back to Note 8
Lol.
Loved my SII.
Love my note 8 quite a bit too. Everything considered, relatively speaking my note 8 is cheaper.
Mine shows up as a SII too.
Lol same here.
I can't believe I haven't heard of labs until just now, is it better than the "legacy" app that I use? I got the app years ago, with premium version for no adds, but when I goto the play store, it's just call xda with material design. And there is my old app but nothing called "labs". If it is better where would I get it?

I love XDA labs. You'll need to sideload it, that's all. Much better than the other apps.

Engadget posted a hands-on with it. No calling features. If they work in a note system with automatic two-way syncing similar to HTC's Notes app and Evernote, this could be a pretty cool tab to compliment the Note.

I just wish they would name each product something different. It's just confusing and stupid imho to name this a galaxy note.

I'll certainly be watching for a feature like that. I current have a Thinkpad Tablet for the stylus - and just got a note. I'd be interested in the 10.1 Note if its any lighter than my Touchpad... lol its a beast to hold.
when dose this come out i want this!!!!!!
I'm thinking about it and i will be getting this for the same reasons i got the note over the iphone..................android>>>>apple
I was just wondering who came from the galaxy nexus and went to the att note and to see if you like the nexus or the note better. Im thinking about trading my note for a nexus.

I just did this yesterday! I've always had nexus phones (N1 to NS to GN), and I always thought they were the best Android experience. But the Note is a whole new level!
I miss ICS, though.....

I have a Gnex and have also had all the Nexus phones but, I just received my Gnote today. I'm still setting things up but, I think I'm going to like the Note better. ICS is nice but, I'm really liking the Gnote. Right now ICS and maybe the display is the only advantage the Nexus has IMo.
I have had the gnote since day one it was fast the first week or so but the more I use it the slower it gets and its driving me crazy. I came from the galaxy s2 and it was way faster. I don't think the S3 processor can handle the 5.3 HD screen. I just know the the nexus will have way more development then the att note and we won't see ics for 6 months.

you can count me in on that one
didn't like the i9250 one bit, the T989 or i727 was way better even with the lower resolution screen
now the i717 is definitely beating the i9250 hands down
best of both worlds, all the goodies from T727 + HD screen
specially the microSD support

I don't think I can go back to my nexus now after playing with the note all day. With only 18% battery left, I had to give it a rest. That big screen will spoil you.
I've done this.. I have both running.. Frankly I love he nexus.. So light and quick.. ICS is amazing.
Now. I'm using the note, didn't take me long to fall in love with it. I absolutely love the large a screen. The s-pen is great for meetings and making notes.. I am however anxiously waiting for he ICS update

I had the galaxy nexus thru verizon.....ok phone this note blows it away..who cares about ics.....I left verizon when there insurance dept would send out reburbished phones....2 didn't even work..one had a sunk in screen...the other had the lining under the battery removed and exposed internals...the 3 one came in the mail I took it straight to Verizon. and had them open it up....to there very eyes it would hook up on data but voip (voice calls) wouldn't work with 2 sims cards and them talking with level 2 tech support...that got me out of my contract.....that service dept sucks...they send out phones that dont meet regulations and standards and I proved it to corporate ....no termination fee...and all credit sent back to me....

No, prefer capacitive buttons on OG Note, plus screen is bigger.
I had one for about 3 months, once my wife was due for an upgrade i took the note and gave her the S3. Second best move ive made
You know Jamie I've heard that a few times from others, buddies got a s3...only reason I made it a possibility was because of the quad core in the s3 but the dual core the note has does me some good..BTW great update with the new oct19 kernel, works good on LS 4.3.1

The update will NOT come before Verizon's approval which means it will be delayed for months...after all the other carriers get it. The Nexus 7 2014 JUST got certified last week. (or week before) It has been out for eons. This is how it always is with Verizon.
Well hopefully we get a leak or port from one of the other carriers and the masters can do their magic.

The really significant thing is that we *are* going to get the update. I was expecting 4.3 to be the last. Even if it takes months it will still be far earlier that I would have expected, even assuming that we were going to get another major update at all. (Face it. 4.3 took forever for even Samsung to get out.) This opens the possibility that we might even get another update someday.
Of course, I plan to have a Galaxy Note 4 in 10 months or so.

It seems generally speaking that the big name manufacturers (at least Samsung/Moto/HTC) are getting the point that these devices deserve the updates and it promotes customer loyalty! I like the fact Google is pushing them too
Well the biggest thing is that the 4.4.2 requires little ram. I might have jumped the gun on release but I am happy that we are in line to get it. I really hope that AT&T, Verizon or another service releases the update. I am pretty sure that when the international version get shipped out, someone will definitely port it over
im not even excited about a 4.4 update i just got the 4.3 update in december and even after updateing verizon was saying we have no info on a 4.3 update being released for my note 2 and i gotto say the update is not all that great after the update my camera which on 4.1 took great pics now takes grainy pics that are awful

As a power user 9.8/10
Love that I did not need root to do That, and "stock" settings are still there for battery but Samsung should still learn from HTC. Separate app, not preinstalled bloatware.
Edit: maybe it is placebo, but after disabling the cheetah mobile interface the entire phone UI is much more fluid.

OK that's fine
Other than the battery complaint of not being able to have extra batteries. I had to buy a external battery pack, the battery last maybe 4 to 5 hours with heavy usage. It's a Ravpower model RP-PB052 (22000mAh).
So far no big issues other than the battery not being replaceable!
takes great photos!
Runs faster than my note5.
Funny, when we could get root and find unlimited themes etc.
Now Verizon sells everything is alacart now, bummer!
Hoping my experience will be good. Was going to switch to the Apple 7 plus, except I didn't have the 500+ you up front. Where the galaxy I had a month to come up with 299! Seeing samsung went to the non-replaceable battery, figured I should switch over to Apple, maybe next renewal I will, save up the money to do so.
Seeing Samsung went to the same as Apple!
I do love the note7 except the battery snafu!
Hope everyone likes their note 7
Cheers,
