Viewsonic VSD220 factory reset /remove password - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone!
I recently got a hold of a used Viewsonic VSD220 all in one Monitor/Tablet and is password protected. I'm trying to do a Factory or Hard Reset of the unit so I can get rid of the unknown password and use the device as normal. All of the suggestions on the net involve pressing a combination of volume, plus, and or power button. This unit has only 1 (ONE) physical button, and that is the power button. All other buttons display virtually on the screen, once you have logged in. The instructions in the user's guide/manual and other websites require you to be logged in and tap menu buttons and options that are displayed virtually on the screen, and only available when logged in. The problem is, I can not log in, because of the unknown password. I don't know or have access to the associated google account; therefore I must do a hard reset. Is there a way to hard/factory reset this device without having to log in, or without a combination of buttons that this device physically don't have?
As a side note: I have tried the ADB method, I installed ADB and open a console, I connected the powered on device and didn't work. I assume that this device does not have usb debugging enabled because I don't see it in my computer with "adb devices" command. There is no prompt of MTP, Mass Storage or anything. Also I don't know any system/OS or apps versions because I can't log in. Model is VSD220 and model number is VS15006
I'm open to rooting, but then again, I can't log in, so I don't know if it is possible rooting without access to the device.
Thanks beforehand to anybody with some insight into this matter.

[Q] Galaxy i550L locked: too many pattern attempts. Possible brick?

Hello, this is my first post here in XDA,
-- And my problem is-
I've a samsung Galaxy i550L, and is locked for too many pattern attempts,
the easy way to unlock it, is entering google mail and pass, but this way DOESN'T WORK for me.
But that's not all, my PC doesn't recognize the cell phone!, when i connect my phone with computer, just start charging the battery. (So in a way yes it recognizes, but can't acces to it).
There is nothing i can do, also i tried ti connect with Odin, and tried accessing to recovery mode for Factory reset by adb recovery on PC, but of course, PC doesn't recognized the phone >.<.
The only thing i can do is access to Download Mode (Volume Down, Home Button and Power button), but neither is recognized by pc or any program
My phone has a solution? (thanks in advance, and sorry for bad english)

why doesn't this work for u?
If you've forgotten your google id:
just connect it with ur pc and open up kies (must have usb debugging off or won't connect with kies). Click on your phone contacts. There should be a tab for your google id in your contacts.
If you've forgotten your password: try recovering from google website.
Other than that, I'm out of suggestions.
Many phones have a key combo that restores the default settings (the lock pattern should be removed also). Perform a search in google to find it

[Q] how to enter debug or recovery or unstock

hello, i have a tablet techpad that only has the power button and the reset hole
i have been reading a lot and i'm desperate now
the tablet got stuck in the gmail user account due to several attemps from a friend to unlock it i forgot the password so i cant unlock it
reading i find that it can be fixed with adb but when i do all the tutorials i always find that debuggin options needed to be activated wich they arent
i try contacting the manufacters but they did not respond
basically i cant enter to the recovery because it only has the powerbutton
i cant use adb because the debuggin options are not activated
what i can access is the internal and external memory in the computer via usb cable
is there a slution for this problem, is it posible to move something in the files so it automatically boots into recovery or to activate debuggin?
thanks in advance

Allow usb debugging broken display

Hi there,
I have a samsung galaxy s3 i9300 with broken display and I need to run a software to recover deleted files on the memory of the phone. This software requires to doo usb debugging to the phone in order to do its job. I was already able to enable it changing buold.prop using adb in recovery mode. Now the phone waits for the user to touch the "ok" button in order to allow the pc, unfurtunately my display is broken so I can't do it. Do you have any idea on how to let the phone accept adb/usb debugging connections from my pc, or to completely disable the confirmation box and accept the requests automatically?
Does your touch screen still register touch? If so, I'd try borrowing same model of phone from a friend, connecting it to computer to see where exactly is the OK button, then try to tap same location on the broken screen of your phone>

Broken Screen and a pattern i cant unlock

Hi everyone, i got a pain in the ass problem that i cannot fix. I've been looking for 3 days in a huge labyrinth of forums before posting this.
The screen of my phone got broken and half of it doesnt respond, and i cant unlock the pattern screen because part of it is on the damaged part. I dont want to reset the phone, just try to skip the pattern screen or use it remotely on a PC, and seems very hard to achieve.
The phone is from a low-cost brand i bought in Mexico, the model is Vios 502015. The android version is 4.4.2. I think it is not root, but right now i dont know how to check it.
I tried using the device manager of Google to block the phone and change the pattern to a password that i can type with the unbroken side of the screen, but the phone has the wifi off and no sim because i lost it and till a couple of days i wont have another. Also tried to put a friend's sim in the phone for if the conection was on by magic or something like that. Didnt work, anyway new sim doesnt work.
I tried connecting a mouse with OTG and doesnt work either. It has not enabled the USB debugging mode and I ve been looking these days how to enable that option wihtout using the screen but it seems imposible.
When i connect the phone to the pc is only available the mass storage option. Also tried with adb commands but doesnt recognize any device using "adb devices".
But in recovery mode, if i select the option "install update from ADB" it does recognize it with the command "adb devices". The status of the device is sideload.
If i try the command to disable the pattern lock it returns error:closed. And also try to find the solution to this error, but nothing seems to work. Tried "adb usb", "adb kill-server" and "adb start-server". Nothing.
I dont know what else to do. Im starting to feel ill, haha.
So the question it would be: what can i do to skip the lock or a way to tun on the wifi mode or... i dont know, please help!!
Thanks to all of you for your time
Cheers!

Edit: i just noticed! i can write the pattern if i find a way to turn the screen upside down, any ideas?
FIXED: i used a program called gsm aladdin. I can use the phone again!

Galaxy S6 last-chance recovery - any ideas?

I've got a Sprint Galaxy S6 SM-G920P (original stock firmware) which I was doing a routine battery replacement on, but when I reassembled it and tried to power it up, it got stuck with a dark screen and throbbing blue indicator LED. I'm not able to do a volume-down + power reset, and I tried multiple times to boot into safe mode, but with the screen black I can't tell when to push volume down.
When I connect it to a PC via USB, it's detected as a USB device but does not link up as an MTP device, so I can't access the directories, and KIES won't work. I installed android-data-recovery, but the SM-G920P was not on the list of devices for broken phone recovery.
I've written the phone off, but I'd really like to recover the photos. Any ideas or suggestions? I don't mind soldering.
Thanks,
LR

Have you had any luck recovering the data? I have a stock Galaxy S6 from Sprint with a broken screen. No screen lock is enabled, no passcode. I don't have ADB debugging enabled on the phone so all the recovery software out there isn't working. If I somehow figure out how to recover anything off of this phone I'll let you know the steps I've taken

As long as you cant't establish an USB-connection ( read: ADB connection ) you can't revover any data: ADB is the door to any Android device.

I figured as much for as long as I can remember ADB yes has always been the doorway. It'd be nice if ADB was a built in software standard, not only an option you can choose to turn on and off but with security features that would enable people that break their screens to still be able to access their data with a code only verified owners can get from their service providers or manufacturers, it would also stop criminals from being able to access peoples data. ADB is an outdated/old standard in my opinion. In concept it's great but if you don't have it turned on what good is it.... if you need access to your phone through an OTG cable. If you do have it enabled and your phone is stolen, screen locks can be bypassed. We need a new type of ADB, hopefully that becomes a thing in the near future! How many people are tech-savvy or even interested in these type of things, less than the majority. How many people lose memories along with other forms of data and money because of these old standards.....
