HTC Flyer Android 4 update - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Does anyone still have HTC Flyer and want to have it updated to newer version. Or maybe has it updated succesfully?

I would be happy to just be able to get it to run through the regular update channels and get away from gb onto hc. Not able to set S-on anymore, for whatever reason. Trying to get the darn thing in a condition to run Torque Pro in the pickup and play mp3 from a vast pool on extsd.

Sorry to repeat - Bluetooth

Just would like to ask the question again to get the latest.
Has anyone found a way to get the Bluetooth function to work properly on the Hero, so it can be paired with computers, send & receive files, and sync
I'm rooted, and raring to go
actually i think there are non really ready for the hero yet.. of course there are some paid (and also 1 or 2 nonpaid) apps, but these work at least not always or in most cases the receiving function is not working (i think, thats always the case).. guess, we have to wait a lil bit
It's a shame that HTC didn't put intrinsic Bluetooth file transfer support to the Hero with the last update. It's seems like a very basic function for a phone for a very long time.
BTW. The paid for apps don't work on Hero anyway, tried them.

[Q] rooted htc evo 3d & flashed to boost have qestions small issues

I got my phone 4 months ago but because of some "borrowed" it i have not had it until now, i just sent it to get flashed on to boost mobile, its rooted and i cant update because of that. the update icon it really annoying to me, as is not being able to update.
my questions are as follows
if i un root will i lose my flash, ie will i no longer get service?
If so how can i update with out losing that?
i had a few movies i purchased as well as a game and now they wont play, can this be fixed. any way to get them off line, ie a legal sight that i can buy movies from that will play in 3d on my phone?
i know my tech. usb is that mouse thingy right? no need to dumb it down if its easier to explain, also i have time to Google
i herd i could roam and not get charged, because its on boost mobile and its all the same towers, is that true or is the person who told me that full of it. if so its not working all that well.
thanks for your time

Evo 3D To Kenwood KDC-BT952HD - A Joke?

Hey Guys,
I just purchased a Kenwood KDC-BT952HD. Everythings Smooth With It, Except for the main reason i bought it, to pair it to my phone.
When i connect my Evo 3D to my stereo via Bluetooth, works for a bit, then cuts out. Then my phone freaks out and doesn't let me turn Bluetooth off, then back on. (Only way is to reset the phone.)
On top of that, anything being played via the stock player (which recognizes the Bluetooth connection) sounds so cheap. Pandora on the other hand sounds fine. Not sure why it sounds different between players.
Here's a link to Kenwood's list of compatible Bluetooth devices:
http://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/bt/index.php (Select KDC-BT9; KDC-BT952HD) and (HTC; Evo 3D)
Says its compatible, but sounds like crap compared to the crisp sound it has with my iPad, which i don't want to use over my phone.
Any Help Please!
Thanks!
Edit:
Sounds crisp and clear VIA Play Music app, but I don't know what to do about the random cut outs. For some reason I feel its my device that's cutting out, as I can't turn Bluetooth on or off after it cuts out.
Anybody?

Possibly a defective unit. Take it back AFTER trying a stock rom. Ive used mine with the exact same one and had no issues yet.
I have a kenwood bt 838-u and it doesn't do anything like that. I agree with leo it might be a defective radio. Also have you checked for any firmware updates for the head unit.

Thanks, i haven't updated it, but im not sure how to. I believe i do it through the USB port? theres also no firmware available to download from Kenwood's site under that specific model.
Another option would be to try sync another phone or bluetooth device to it.

I haven't been able to except for my iPad, which worked fine with no issues. I'm going to try the stock ROM in a bit. I'll try my girls 3vo when she gets home tonight. Thanks for the feedback guys.
Anybody know how to update the firmware on the stereo?

Starting to thinks it might be defective. Tried my iPad again, and it plays fine, then starts stuttering. This all happened without moving anything. The iPad sat in the same spot when it started, and stopped. I'm hoping there's a fix, or worst case, it's the stereo and I can replace it.
I would contact kenwood and tell them what is doing. Tell them you have tried multiple devices and have the same issue. They might have some firmware update that is not on the website or they might give you an RMA.
Contacted Kenwood, they couldn't help. No updates available also. Although, pure stock rom isn't giving me an issue. I'm going back to my rom, but going to see if using stock kernel changes anything. :/
I'm using freezes kernel.
Found the issue. My boy freezas working on a fix.

Yes there has been a firmware update. (EVO 3D owner)
I'm a new user so I can't post urls sorry:
There's an instruction page and a download page on the kenwood usa site
FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS EXACTLY! Part of the update needs to be burned onto a CD and part needs to be burned onto a thumb drive.
I have the same kenwood unit. It was acting squirrly with my evo 3d then I found this update and installed it. It now works perfecctly. Controls Pandora and displays everything!
Pandora tip: Start the app from your phone first THEN go into pandora mode on the unit. It works everytime then.

Downgrade FLYER from Stock HC to Stock GB

I've searched and searched for a topic that would explain what to do.
In most of the guides, one of the major steps is "Get your RRU" - seriously? I click a link and there's 30 different RRU's (whatever those are)...
How is one to know which RRU is right??
I'm looking for a way to revert my stock HC flyer to a stock GB.....because I plan to use this flyer on a boat and gps MUST work 100% of the time.
Would any of you gracious fellows help me out? If the simple answer is to go buy blue tooth gps, I'll accept that too......just tell me which one works please!!
Thanks
Read this thread carefully (a few times, if need be).

Get adb working on your system - everything you'll need is explained and provided in the above link. You'll be able to identify exactly which RUU (Rom Update Utility) that you'll need. All links and info are there.
See post #2 - To identify which RUU to use.
No sweat, be careful and ask questions if you need to... it's not as difficult as it might at first seem.
Hardest part of it all was finding the actual RUU file to download.
I just downgraded mine last night and every link I found to my RUU didn't work. Was about to give up when I got lucky and found a link near the last page of the ruu thread

Thanks. I guess at this point the most simple answer is to buy an external bluetooth gps.

That's the easy way out...
The simplest thing to do is downgrade to GB. Read, think, get the proper drivers installed on your system, run the fastboot getvar cid command to be certain of the RUU you'll need. The process isn't as daunting as it seems.
well the thing is. I actually like HC... just need it to work with the gps!
I actually had the same idea, I bought a tomtom MKII bluetooth gps receiver on ebay for 15 bucks.
I have tried 4 devices, a flyer and view running GB my droid x2 and some tablet my sister has. I can pair it, use bluetooth gps apps that you need to use but cant get it to work as gps. Nav apps all say no gps signal.
Not sure why but I cant get it to work.
you need a provider to use external GPS unless the kernel has mods.

Do you have a Bluetooth GPS provider app installed?
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=Bluetooth+gps&c=apps
Yeah I tried bluetooth gps, and gps providor.
In Bluetooth gps I pair the device, do the mock gps thing and connect
But it never shows any gps signal. I dont know if its gotta be above certain firmware or what, but have had no luck.
But I downgraded to GB so I dont need it anyway, bought as last attempt to get GPS for HC.
But had a free night off and downgraded before the receiver arrived

oh that's gonna be annoying.
So I was sitting in the car waiting for someone last night and tried the tomtom receiver and got it working. Re-installed the gps app and connected and this time it got gps signal.
Drove around a while and it kept lock the entire time.
I opened the gps status app and it showed I was locked onto 6 sat's.
I turned the tom tom off and used regular built in gps and the app showed I was locked onto 11 sat's.
Now to decide if I want to go back to honeycomb and always have to use the receiver, or stick with GB. If the receiver ever died when on a trip Id be in trouble.
I like the HC interface alot better for sure.
I will have to make sure I can still use other blue-tooth features on phone, etc.. while this is going first off.
I have been using the receiver past couple days, to see how it works.
It has worked perfectly so far, I can still pair and use other BT devices while the navigation is going.
I cant seem to get it to work with google navigation though, keeps making me turn on tablets gps.
But Works fine with waze.
Thinking of going back to HC and just using the receiver

If you want to chance suffering GB, you might try GoLauncherEx. Free in the market - can enable a 5x5 screen grid (portrait or landscape), nice widgets and much smaller icons. Much to fine-tune. Can circularly rotate as many homescreens as you need and can have up to three separate revolving app trays.
I'm just sayin'
Ill have to look at that.
I have a flyer and a view, I have flyer installed in the car so I need the GPS to function.
I just put the view back on s-off HC and did the gps patch and am gonna see how that does with gps lock.

[Q] Rip HTC SSD Test Tool off of HTC Desire 601

I had send two devices to some engineers at HTC HQ to test a couple network issues that my company is having with the CDMA spectrum. One of the devices came back with HTC SSD Test Tool loaded onto it. Does anyone know how I can copy the application from this device onto another? Possibly rip the file to store on my PC?
Thanks
Any new ideas?
Good afternoon. Its a new day here and i am wondering if it is worth it to try and save this application. I went into the file manager and i see no way to share it to another device. Would gaining root access allow me to have access to pull this app off of the device?
