Apps and Google account sync not working

When ever I flash firmware or do a factory reset, the apps are lost (ofcourse that is the behavior). But I was under the impression that when I sign in again and goto Market, I could get all the installed apps back. I was somehow thinking the apps I download (free ones ) are linked my google account. But it looks like this is not the case.
Any idea how I can sync the apps installed with my google account?
Thank you
You probably have disabled the option 'Keep my device backed up with Google' option when you did the Factory Reset.
Eventhough I enable that i dont get my apps automatically. Also problem is it syncs my google contacts. for me its a pain because my contacts in google are not really sorted so i had to always delete the contacts after sync then resync with Kies. this is kind of pain
Can you please check that under Settings- Privacy- Back up my data option is ticked or not?
A good alternative application is My Backup Pro.
Yes the options are ticked. I will check the app you have mentioned. thank you

[SOLVED] CM10.2 and Google Calendar not synchronizing

Starting from Aug.30th I noticed my Google Calendar was not synchronizing anymore.
I reinstalled, deleted the dalvik cache and even performed a factory rest. None solved.
The application was asking to enter a missing Google account that in fact was already setup and working for services like GMail.
Everything seemed to be useless.
Until I wen to Settings-->App-->Calendar and un-tick the privacy guard setting. I also disabled it for all new application.
Starting from that I got it working again.
I understand that disabling PG completely can be a problem, but if my phone is unusable it's a bigger problem, to me at least.
Try this if you are experiencing any other strange behavior in application.
Say thanks if this helped
did the same thing last week & now working perfectly, also gosms /handcent were not working with privacy guard uncheck these and now it ll start working

Google Services battery drain

In general this is a well-documented problem, but it hit my DNA only after the most recent OTA. I am surprised no one brought this up here.
If you enable Google Location Services in settings, Google Services will proceed to initiate hundreds of wake locks and turn the GPS on for something like 15 minutes per day, resulting in much downgraded battery life. It will do it regardless of whether you use Google Now or anything else for that matter. Basically it appears Google has decided to keep track of the phone's location on a minute by minute basis as a default option.
The way to turn this off is to disable Google Location Services under Settings - Location and by setting to "off" Google apps location access in Settings - Accounts & Sync - Google - Location Settings. As far as I know this also kills Google Now and your location in Google Maps.
However, to use Google Maps only occasionally, I am not willing to pay the price of a permanently crappy battery life and be subject of so much spying.
If you are rooted there is a way to turn the location services on automatically with Tasker when you run Maps. I am on un-rooted stock, so that doesn't work for me. Another option is to use MapQuest or any other third party maps app.
Any other ideas / suggestions are welcome.

When checking the apps that use up the batttery, look at Google services and the apps that call it. Then go one by one and clear data and cache for each app then reboot.
Google services went from the 2nd most battery draining item (just after screen) to nearly the bottom.

Facebook app missing Media and Contacts

Hi,
installed the Facebook app on my brand new Pixel 3, and want to mute the in-app sounds. I'm looking for an option in the app's Settings menu, but can't find anything.
Then I'm looking online for some support, and find out that this can be set up in the Settings menu, under Media and Contacts. Unfortunately, this option is not available in my app. Tried cleaning cache etc, reinstalling the app - still no change.
Anyone have the same problem? Is it Pixel/Pie-related? Or just something related to my FB account? Please help, it's very annoying to not be able to disable this app's sounds.
I've also reported the problem within the FB app, but there is no response/feedback.
I'm not on the Pixel 3 but I did notice this issue on my S9+ after I had to reinstall the app. The "Media and Contacts" settings menu where that was located is completely gone. I'm guessing maybe it was a mistake in the last update that rolled out? Regardless, it is VERY annoying that I can't turn off the app sounds. I have no idea why they are even turned on by default anyway.

"Ok Google" with other assistant app

Hi,
I used "Ok Google" detection perfectly with another assistant app (Greenify, needs it for long press home button action).
But then the home screen calendar notifications got stuck and I had to reset Google App.
Since then it doesn't work anymore.
I can setup Google assistant perfectly, "Ok Google" detection works and all.
But when I set Greenify as default assistant it Google assistant starts misbehaving.
First it does not work at all anymore. I can select only "Basic voice recognition" the option for "Google" is greyed out.
Then when I change back to Google assistant as default and back again to Greenify. Suddenly "Ok Google" detection works.
Still it's basic recognition and Google is greyed out. Problem is now the assistant activates multiple times (I get the activation sound) and basically just a transparent overlay opens but nothing more happens.
I have no idea how to fix this. I feel I tried everything up until now. Especially everything you find on multiple guides on google pages.
I wouldn't mind if it didn't work before, so I know it definitely should work!
@DarsVaeda
Prevent Greenify to send Google Assistant to sleep ( put it into Doze mode ).

Thanks, but unfortunately that's exempted already.
I managed to get it back.
I uninstalled all updates to the Google app.
Then disabled and force stopped it.
Restarted.
Then I choose Greenify as assistant. No voice was available.
Then I reactivated Google app. Now it was available as voice.
Then I updated the app and restarted.
It now is back as assistant but Greenify still has the home button.
Stupid it has to be this complicated!
