S6 Edge DEAD after an update! - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys. I'm in need for your help . My S6 Edge was functioning smoothly until a firmware update was downloaded automatically and installed around mid Nov 2017. Update size was about 250 MB. Phone started to freeze and get heated up. I had to hard reset it more than once pressing Volume Down and power key and sometimes i had to boot it into download mode. That happened almost 5 or 6 times whenever i had a black screen. Now it is completely dead! not booting up, not charging, not going into download mode and not responding to whatever key combination! I downloaded the respective firmware and Odin but can not flash anything since Odin does not recognize my phone. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe it is the Power Management IC. It is for a service probably.

[Q] Phone possibly bricked

Hello guys,
I have searched the forum and tried all kinds of combination of buttons to get my phone to boot up but to no avail. Last night I was trying to flash the phone using odin and the latest OTA firmware. I was able to get into download mode and odin detected the phone. I selected the PIT and PDA files and hit start. After 5-10 minutes went by it was still sitting there so I thought it did not really start transfering so I tried to reboot the phone so I can start again and now I just get a picture of a cell phone, exclamation point and a computer. No matter what I do all I can get is this screen to come up. Download mode doesn't come up. Even if I pull the battery and connect the phone to the AC charger I see this screen. I tried doing a hard reset and that doesnt work. Nothing I do seems to get me to any screen other than the screen i described above. Anyone have advice for me? Thank you.
Connect the phone to your PC and open Odin. Hold down power and the volume buttons. When the screen goes black, release the power button. It will go into download mode. Since Odin is already open, it should recognize the phone.
I've had your same problem many times. About 20% of the time, Odin just hangs and I have to retry. It's scary the first time, but don't worry (that's what she said)
YOU WERE RIGHT! This error screen was throwing me off. I just held it for several more seconds after these error screen popped up and the screen went blank. It is flashing now!! Thanks!
Glad everything worked out! Odin can definitely be a pain sometimes.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 Safe Mode

Hello,
I purchased a second hand Samsung S3 i9300 with a cracked gorilla glass, but the touch works perfectly. When the guy showed me the phone it was working perfectly. When he was going to give me the phone, he removed the battery to get his SIM card out and then put the battery back in. When the phone restarted it said Safe Mode in the bottom left corner. When I got home I started checking the phone a little better and started looking the internet to see how to get out of safe mode. I have tried everything I have found. I have restarted the phone, I have shut it off and turning it back on, I have removed the battery, SIM, SD card and reboot, nothing. One thing I should mention is that the Volume Up key works perfectly when I'm inside the OS, but when I go to Download Mode (to flash with Odin) I'm unable to Continue from the main screen (it asks me to press the Volume Up key to continue but the key is unresponsive). I have also tried recovery mode, but again, I need to hold the Volume Up key and I do, but the phone boots normally and is still in safe mode. Even a Factory Reset hasn't fixed my problem. The phone is running JB 4.3 and my first thought was that maybe the update was not made correctly by the previous owner, but I can't find a way to downgrade to 4.1 or 4.2 because of the issue with the Volume Up key outside the OS. Please Help!!!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 Bricked!!! (Help please)

Hello to all,I am in a serious trouble with my samsung galaxy player 5.0 International China version . I rooted this with super one click. And it was successful and there was no problem. But as soon as I overwrote a file in lib folder of system,it got stuck.I tapped the power key and the screens light was gone.I again tapped but there was no response. So I held the power key for a while and the device restarted. But it got stuck on samsung logo and began to restart again and again. So I took it to download mode and tried to nand erase with odin,I thought it could format the device and my device would be fixed. But it took some time and I closed odin. Then I held the power key and it restarted with a black screen containing a picture of malfunctioning connection between a phone and computer at its middle. Then I again tried to t-flash it and again closed it without completion because my notebook had no charge. After that I flashed my device with the YP-G70-Kernel-r14 and it restarted with download mode. But if I hold the power key for a while it restart and again go to the brick showing screen(I heard that this brick is called soft brick).I downloaded two stock rom STOCK_G70XXKPH_G70XXKPH_XEF and G70XXKPL_G70XXKPL_XEF.I tried to flash them in my device with odin and they succeeded. But none of them could fix my problem. They remain in download mode and if I hold the power key the device again go to the soft bricked screen. My device isn't force shutting down.If I hold the power key the screen goes and again lights up with the bricked screen. Now,my device has become very hot and after 8-9 hours it has automatically turned off.But if I connect it to the charger it again lighten up with bricked screen.
Now,I am wanting to setup a clean and clear version of android 2.2/2.3.6 in my device. Is it possible? Will this fix my problem? If it does then please explain me the steps.Or if there is any other way to fix then please help me.
N.B. I am junior about andorid root, rom etc.It is the first device I rooted successfully.
Sorry for my bad and wrong English.
Please, help.I am in a bad danger.

I don't have a samsung device myself but if you can get in download mode and you can from what you described. What happened is that you deleted a driver (from the lib folder) that was necessary for boot (something important). To get to stock go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192488 download the right Firmware for your device. And the right pit file (pit file is the partition layout of the device). Flash using the pit file you got. You will fix that. Good luck.
Stock rom and pit file downloaded

So,I am in the download mode.I downloaded the firmware (XXXKPL) and the intl pit file. Now what options would be checked in odin and where will I put the firmware file(PDA or Bootloader)? The device has no charge. If I connect to the charger,it wakes up and becomes very hot than normal. And I can't turn it off.Its battery is non-removable.Thank you for your valuable help.

Still_Kicking...
VolumeUP+Home+Power, still getting 'no response' while holding all three down and releasing at start up.
*i forgot to mention that after StartUp, on the Enter Password request page, only the Power button operates. the VolumeUp, VolumeDown, and Home buttons do nothing. I have to press Power button after the screen has blacked out to bring-up the Enter Password request page again.
Today, I installed an old SIM card (SIM not provisioned MM#2) is displayed. I'll have to research this for the meaning as this is a first for me.
This time I held VolumeDown+Home buttons throughout the StartUp process. This time, on the Enter Password request page, in the lower left corner, Safe mode is stated. Anyone have some tips on what we can do while the device is in this mode as I have yet to read anything on Safe mode for any of the devices listed so far?
TO ENTER Safe mode:
Hold Power button until device starts up, release. Now hold down VolumeDown+Home buttons until Enter Password request page shows. The device should now state that its in Safe mode in the lower left corner. Please take note that this is on the S/G MEGA 6.3 (AT&T-US) SGH-i527~GT-i9205.
Galaxy Mega 6.3/ Black screen after ROM Flash
A friend of mine gave me his Galaxy Mega 6.3 as when he previously did something with the phones software, he messed something up and lost imei numbers, wifi and bluetooth wouldn't work however the phone would still turn on. Just like an MP3 player.
I struggle around a day to get this phone into download mode in order to flash its factory rom and i finally got the phone to download mode, i flashed the correct I9205 stock rom on and now the phone wont turn on.
No buttons light up including the blue LED at the top. The screen turns on and back off after a few seconds. No logo appears, but the phone does respond to the power button. Its like a bootloop but it loops before it gets to any sort of logo screen. I cant seem to launch to any sort of safe mode, recovery mode or download mode and the phone is not detected on my computer.
Any ideas on how to get this backup and running.

Did you check the PDA, CSC, and of course the md5 to make sure you had the right Firmware(ROM)? Where did you download it from?
How did you get the device into download mode?

I managed to get the device to download mode via the normal method of pressing volume home and power however it doesnt always work and it just restarts continuesly. I got the rom from sammobiles or something like that and i believe its the correct one. I have tried several other roms that is for mega 6.3 but no hope. However i did manage to get twrp installed. Do you by any chance know any os that you can link for me that i can install directly and only by using twrp installation?

There is LineageOS ROM with RR Remix. I have heard that you have to use Kies before you can use Odin3. Sorry for the late reply.

Galaxy A8 2018 can't boot anymore

So today I finally got notification for Oreo update on my Galaxy A8 2018 version.
I updated it via Smart Switch with original USB cable from Samsung, but after update was done, my phone was stuck at reboot mode.
It just keeps rebooting all the time, and even after 1 hour of reboots, it doesn't do anything usefully.
I went to recovery mode, where it still says it's android 7.1.1 firmware … I tried to wipe cache partition and that didn't help at all.
Next step was apply update from SD card but that just returns me errors: E:footer is wrong, E:Signature verification failed and E:failed to to find misc partition.
I tried to wipe all data/factory reset, but that didn't help either.
I can't start it download mode to use Odin, and smartswitch doesn't see my phone either.
I have no idea what else to do
Hi , let your battery to be completely empty , put in charger for about 2 hours don't power On!
After that take out the charger hold at the same time Vol - , home and Power taster , but to skip reboots , try when you hold those 3 buttons to press fast couple of times Vol - while you are holding other two buttons . If you are able to go into Download mode reflash the same firmware version Android 7.1.1 .
It turns out, that I was able to get in download mode, but I had to press volume up + volume down + power button all at the same time.
After that I was able to flash my device with stock 7.1.1 Android. After that was a success, I tried to update to Oreo again via Smart Switch … again same problem and phone would boot.
Then I downloaded Oreo firmware for my phone, and tried to flash it. It wasn't working at all. Program finished in 4 sec, and phone was stuck back at reboot.
After banging my head against the wall, I found some article on web, that this is a know issues for Odin 3.1.2 version, and that 3.1.3 version is working.
So I was finally able to flash my phone with Oreo Android, using Odin 3.1.3 version …. flashed my device at least 7 times before I got result that I wanted.
I still lost all my data, since I didn't have any backups enabled. This time I'm downloading all my apps, and do all customization, and then I'm making backup, so I won't be stuck with that problem once again.
Sometimes I regret going from iOS to Android, and next phone will probably be iPhone for me.
