My phone one day decided to just not to charge.
It happened once but after a week it magically came alive, it held for a week and then it died again but now for good.
How do I bring it back alive?

After about a week my battery life returned to Gingerbread levels.
I've been having the same problem (XT912) for the past couple of days. I thought maybe I was having network issues so I got a new SIM card from Verizon yesterday, and my battery lasted a long time up until a few hours ago where it started dying fast again. Airplane mode seems to make the drain subside too, but this is pretty crazy. Yesterday I was lucky to get 4 hours on a charge (without even using the phone), but since my new SIM last night I went from 10PM to like 12PM today (14 hours) and it only dropped to 80%, then a few hours to 70%, but then went to 20% within just a couple hours and it's been like that again today. I don't think it's ICS to blame, but something weird is going on for sure.
I had the same problem. I read that if you do a factory reset then it helps. At least it did for me.

Calibrate battery can help
XT910 - Kexec JB
How can i do that

You can search in the Play Store for apps that can calibrate your battery.
My battery is very good with ICS and I don`t have such a problems (for now).

Thanx better battery life than when i first got the phone

The battery used to run flawlessly since I got the phone 8 months ago, I got an average of 12 hrs of battery life. Suddenly a week ago my battery did not last more than 5 hours for some reason, even when I'm at work and it would be on idle for about 8 hours and ends up at 40-30%. I tried killing apps (never did before) and restarted the phone and all. I don't know what's wrong. I really don't want to reset the phone.
Does anyone have a similar issue or a solution to this?

I would probably just reset the phone and don't download any apps for a few days to see if it was a rogue app.
Also is it in a case and getting hot? My friends s3 was in a case and pocket and would get too hot and die fast. Also the hot phone caused a crack in his screen from a 1 foot drop.

Nope the phone does not get hot at all, it stays at the same yet cool idle temperature.

Use wakelock detector and see if you have any apps causing a wakelock.

It's most likely a rogue app.

I had my phone today and everything seemed to be running fine but I happened to let it die completely while in my pocket. I went to plug it in and no LED, no charging, no nothing. When I put it on my wireless charger, the charger's green light says it is charging but my phone doesn't seem to respond to anything. I tried holding down Power+volume up+volume down and still nothing. Before it happened i was running official CM10.2 and the crpalmer kernel and everything seemed great. What do ya'll think?
Definitely sounds like you're going to need a replacement. I'm hoping you have a warranty?

Nope. I've had the phone for more than a year. looks like ill be using my old thunderbolt until i get my upgrade.
Ouch. At least you have a backup. I'm assuming that you don't have the insurance? I've never had to use it, but as expensive as these things are and the fact that I have 3 children makes me paranoid.

Nope, no insurance. I'm regretting that now though.
my friends dna did the same thing. he let the battery run out one time overnight and it would never charge or turn on again.
Leave it on the wired factory charger for 24 hours , then try to power it up

I just let it sit overnight on my desk and tried plugging it in again this morning. LED began flashing and once it turned solid I booted it up and everything seems normal. That was weird. I will try and prevent the battery from draining the entire way again.
You can still add insurance. Call and they will add it. I had no ins for 5 months and decided to add it.

Battery pull
When that happens, the battery usually has to be pulled for it to turn back on. The problem is, the DNA doesn't have a removable, or even easily accessible battery. This same problem happened to me a while back, and the remedy was to pry off the back cover, unscrew the metal plate holding the battery connector to the board, and unplug the connector for about 10 or 15 seconds before reconnecting it. After that, charging LED came on like normal and the phone booted up just fine. It's only happened twice in the last 3 months, and it works every time.
Lesson learned - don't let the battery die!

This it not true. Or atleast where I live it isn't.
It's official. My old DNA is dead. I had it plugged in the following day after it started working again. When I woke up, it was turned off and refused to turn back on. I am not sure what happened. I am guessing the battery shorted out or something like that but who knows? I've since moved on to the HTC One and I'm digging the upgrade

dcramer67, You would be doing the whole DNA community a favor by selling your old device to Zarboz.
He has done so much for all of us :fingers-crossed:

HI,
I've been using this phone for over 2 months with no issues.
3 Days ago, the phone died while holding it and browsing the menu.
I thought the battery is dead as it had around 20% left.
Ever since the phone is not showing any sign of life. not even the charger LED turns on.
Can anyone suggest something that might work?
Is it rooted? Can you go into bootloader or recovery? If not, then send it in for RMA as I'm sure you have warranty

I charged my phone as usual as I slept and I noticed that the tip of the usb cable had gotten extremely hot , I removed it and allowed it to cool but it wasn't charging anymore. The phone was on 40% so I decided to pull the battery and reboot although it won't turn on anymore. I'm pretty sure the charging port did not fry as the cable looks pretty fine and I can not boot into recovery or anything.. What do I do?
Just bought a new usb-c cable and the G5 is still not turning on.
Original cable and charger?

They said I should bring it to the shop if it was a fault and not actual damage to the device (Which I presume would be dropping my phone or something) for a replacement and it'd be sorted
