We will have to wait for someone to try and fix some "overlays" like the one's we had on NOTE 8 & S8+ that they have made the circle caller picture 100% bigger and maybe more.... But don't wait to have full 18:9 picture....
It was working in all devices with android 7 even on A3, A5, A7 2017 with Samsung experience UI

Alright everybody,
I have had the mozart now for a few weeks and everything is outstanding on it, it's pretty far removed from WM6.5.
The only problem i'm having is the camera just seems to shoot a little blurry, I know some of the pics are me not quite keeping still, I was just wondering what settings it should be on for a good picture.

I've not changed any of settings and am getting pretty good results (when I remember to wait for the 2nd flash that is!).
Will have a play about with the settings over the weekend and post if I find anything interesting.
I'm currently thinking about getting a 7 Mozart myself and was wondering how the camera performs.

How does the Mozart camera compare to the Omnia 7? I am considering either this for the camera or the Omnia for the S-Amoled.
I'm experience the blurred image as well and I did not change the setting either.
Just wonder how to take close ups with this camera e.g. when i take photos of a book the words are not readable, blurred???

This might sound a bit odd, but u know the button on the side to press to actually take the pic? .. Hold it in for about 5/6 secs and it seems to zoom in and crisp the focus ... then click to take a pic.

Have you tried Macro mode? Works well for me.
I've not had any problems with blurry pictures.....unless I move after focus has locked. Unfortunately there's no Microsoft update coming for me being bad at keeping still!
Ok, we need to press the camera button for a while until it adjusts the focus, then close ups can be taken and once focus is locked then there is no blurr and images are just excellent. thank dov74.

No Problem.
Macro mode is under camera/settings/scenes then it's the last option. I've not taken any proper photos with it but I've messed about with it and have gotten good results.
From memory, another member on here uploaded a picture taken in Macro mode - will have a look and see if I can find.

Need help here, in S3 on talk video there function "Background replacement"?, what is this? I really no idea. How to make it work? GTalk background replacement "in space", "sunset" and "disco" doesn't work!
In Samsung Galaxy S III original stock ROM there is missing videos files:
system\media\video\AndroidInSpace.240p.mp4

Which these file cause the Space and Sunset background replacement doesn't work in Gtalk video chat, I'm not sure for "Disco" what kind video files.
Original stock Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S have these video files.
Samsung you missed this out on your stock ROM. Very bad!

1-the wifi:
when i tried to connect to a protected network aaafter i enter the password and connected . the wifi icon still gray and there is no internet after reboot the icon become blue and the internet is very good.i need to reboot after any time i connect to the network
2-the notification bar:
many times the GBS and blutooth icons on the top of notifications menu hang and not respond to my clicks and i need to reboot the phone to make them respond
3-the input:
some times the lang.change buttom on the keyboard not respond to my click and the lang is fixed to english and i need to reboot to make the lang.change respond
4-the video camera
when i tried to record a video the camera brightness is very dark .. when i record and stop the brightness become very good and i can record the second video without problems(its not a problem with cam settings and also i tried LG camera.apk and it works very well with perfect brightness recording)
SO,,,i need you to help me please how i can fix thes problems?
is it need a new Jb version?or need a good backup?

I recently updated to 9.0.0.206 and expected to see the AI Color Mode for photos which should be there since .195:

Try recording the video on ai color then snap see if it turn up on pop-up color

Just to clarify - I'm not talking about AI color in video, that's there and working for quite some time now, but specifically, since 9.0.0.195 the same capability should work also for taking photos (as per the XDA link in opening post)

Thank you, I wasn't aware that you can take picture while recording! However, when you do it, the photo taken doesn't have the AI colors, it's just regular photo as I just tried

i have heard of this ai photo feature and i was waiting for it because i think it would be amazing.
i read what ai photo is in i was expecting this in .195 firmware.

You can simulate this by taking a photo in aperture mode, view the photo in the gallery app, click on the aperture icon then select filters then mono. Sets the background to B/W and the main focus image stays colour.
Anyone else noticed that when using original camera app and recording a video (I tried it in 4k but I assume it is same in other mods) when you switch off the sound in camera settings then the sound is still recorded??? I tried to toggle it but no matter on or off it is still recorded...
Another bug is that on the bottom of the camera settings there is an option to 'reset settings to defaults'. Well I click it and nothing happens... It doesn't work either.
Also they didn't provide possibility to take pictures in 21:9 to cover entire screen. Where 3rd party apps can do this. Maybe not 21:9 but 7:3 (that should be same) that results with 7MPx picture. Hence it's possible!
I wonder who is testing it???
Is sony testing its software at all?
Tried to post it on their original forum but currently they have 'technical problems'.
OMG this company is so incompetent and pointless.
Also recording videos in 4k is losing the frames so need to use 3rd party app to have smooth 4k recording. And they aim to be top in camera department?

They abandoned all Xperia 1 users with garbage and without updates or new features. Now even security patches are not coming on time.

This sound option toggles the shutter/video record/stop sounds. It does not toggle whether or not sound is recorded

Not sure what to tell you, this option works for me. If you want to reset the program, you can also do it by "clearing storage" in the Apps section of settings.

They probably assume if you want 21:9 then you'll just crop a larger image to fit the screen. You are correct in that the CinemaPro program does take advantage of the 21:9 aspect ratio by shooting in it.

Yeah, it's pretty depressing that the Xperia 1 fails to deliver what would be expected in the camera department for a 2019 flagship model that is specifically marketed towards media creation and consumption. Especially when their mirrorless cameras are some of the best for video quality in their price point.
A little off topic, but this video does a good job explaining why Sony, though they seem determined to continue making phones forever, are doing a crap job of selling them which just hurts the consumer more and more
