I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get my phone to flash the stock KDZ.
The other day there was a stock zip that I could flash and that would allow me to keep TWRP installed if I flashed Magisk just afterwards to keep the new boot image but with TWRP. Long story short it did not work out in the end. My phone continuously too no end bootloops over and over again. I get the error code:
Boot verification Fail!
-cause : MISMATCH_SIG_Len
The only thing I am able to get the phone to do differently than that is if I plug it into a computer and hold down the up key which will get me into Download Mode. I have all the appropriate drivers installed but the device is only recognized as LGE AndroidNET USB Serial Port (COM3) I think I switched it to COM3 though.
I installed the LG Flash Tool 2014 and the appropriate KDZ for the device but to no avail I am unable to successfully flash the image back.
I had to flash stock KDZs with my old LG G3 and it worked flawlessly. Now this is reporting that there is no IMEI or something. I'm trying to pull the information off of the phone but it's not even doing that anymore.... so I'm not too sure what information to give you.
I just bought this phone not too long ago! I refuse to accept that it's fully bricked I don't believe in that unless that motherboard inside is snapped clean in half. I'm sure there are ways of fixing it.... I just don't exactly know how.
If anybody can help at all that would be greatly appreciated!
I was just getting back into having a rooted phone and miss it dearly already!
Thanks!

P.S. Any feedback at all is appreciated! I HAVE to fix this!

So for about two weeks now my phone has been getting this LG Security Error (therefore rendering it useless). I was trying to install a newer version of CWM (I was using l9recovery.apk or whatever it was) and I forgot that my bootloader was locked. Since then my phone has been a paperweight. I put a lot of research into trying to fix it and everything has ended up in failure. I first tried the LG Mobile Support Tool. Everything worked until it got to the downloading phase (it just stops and ceases to work). Then I tried to recover it via Fastboot. This also failed because I couldn't get it to detect my device (I couldn't get the omap4430 drivers installed, either). So if anyone knows a way to fix the LGST downloading phase or a way to get Fastboot it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Otherwise, if this doesn't work, would you guys recommend a JTAG service from Ebay? This would be my last resort.

Hey guys, I seem to have soft-bricked my E970 (which was running stock ICS) in the process of trying to get the bootloader unlocked using Freegee's ZIP method.
I was able to get into Download Mode, so I got LGNPST installed and flashed a TeenyBin, but 85% through the process (after the reboot) I got an error from LGNPST about the device disconnecting along with a Windows "USB device not recognized" notice.
I was able to get reconnected and complete the flash (100%), but my device still didn't get past the LG logo. I figured the interruption might have screwed the flash up, so I tried it again, but I got the same error, only this time I wasn't able to complete the session, and now my device isn't being detected in LGNPST at all
Am I SOL? I can still get into Download Mode, and my device is still showing up in Windows. Any suggestions? What are my options if I can't get my device recognized in LGNPST anymore? I dug around on the forums but couldn't find a solution.
Quick update: I tried following this guide to unbrick my E970 without having to use LGNPST, but am unable to download the KDZ file for my phone since I don't have a way of getting the serial number. I got the IMEI from my carrier but no luck there either.
Anybody?

Finally figured it out with some help at the freenode IRC chat. I reinstalled LGNPST from scratch on a clean Windows 7 install and LGNPST picked up my phone like a charm. Must have been some kind of driver issue. I ended up flashing the Teenybin ALTbin and then the latest stable CM10, along with a hybrid 84/27/84 radio to fix some call issues.
Hi Gurus,
My wife handed me her phone and said it wasn't working. For a few weeks she's been having issues, i.e. overheating, apps closing, etc. I'm not sure what version she was on or if she even took the marshmallow upgrade or not. I do know that her phone was stock. She wanted to take it in or send it out to be repaired, but I told her I could get it working again. Turns out everything I try keeps failing so I need your help badly.
Symptoms at the moment:
- Can get into download mode for a brief second while connected to the computer. After plugging in the phone to the USB cable it'll go to download mode, then the screen will go to firmware update. In device manager it briefly shows up under Ports as LGE Androidnet USB (or something like that). After about 20 seconds the phone disconnects, reconnects and shows as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008.
- Am able, only after a battery pull and waiting 5 minutes, to vol down + power and get to recovery screen. If I try to to a factory data reset from there the screen turns off and nothing happens.
Things I've done and tried -
- Updated drivers from LG specific to VS985
- Downloaded all needed files for TOT method (VS98510B_03.tot, LGUP8974.dll, replaced Megalock file)
- Downloaded all needed files and tried to run LG Flash Tool 2014 to do KDZ method. I got it started but as soon as my phone switches from LG to Qualcomm in device manager it stops. Can't run it while the phone shows up as Qualcomm.
- Downloaded BoardDiag3.99 and tried to get the driver to show as LG instead of Qualcomm - Can't get anywhere here either.
Help!!!!

Did you try the QHSUSB_BULK 9008 mode recovery method? Just Google it.
The method's the same on all devices, just needs the special driver, you to put windows in a non-signed driver enforcement mode and the 10B TOT.
Boarddiag 2.99c or 3.99 might help you, you have the tot file - it's half of the job already. Look through links in my signature

Ok, I can get the phone to show as LGE Androidnet USB now, but only after entering download mode after it causes a kernel crash upon startup. It's either a green kernel flash screen or a different kernel crash screen. I can get the phone to boot into a screen to recover via adb, sd card, etc as well.
I'm just looking to return the phone back to stock marshmallow. I'd prefer no root, just a total stock phone again for my wife to use.
The more I read the more I get confused on how I should proceed. Any clues?
Thanks

Judy ignore anything having to do with rooting or putting TWRP on, or flashing a custom ROM.
After flashing the 10B TOT, use @annoyingduck 's stickied return to stock thread on the General section to flash the 48A KDZ to be up to date.
Note that I've had the experience lately that I can't flash the 10B TOT until I flash a KDZ first. So if you have to, flash the 48A KDZ, then 10B TOT, then 48A KDZ again.
TOTs fix things that nothing else does, so that's why I recommend it in there somewhere.

sorry dude but your phone is hard bricked your going to have to buy a new device.
Hello everyone! I am in dire need of help.
So I recently decided to acquire a regular Motorola G7 because I had heard its battery is fantastic. This far, I have been loving it.
But silly me decided I wanted to explore OEM boot unlocking to eventually root the device. After successfully completing theses tasks, I installed the TWRP recovery. Sadly, something (must have) went wrong because when I tried to reboot, the phone went into hard brick. Completely unresponsive, holding both power and vol. down button for 2+ minutes did nothing. I basically have exhausted every Internet recommendations thus far and nothing has been fruitful.
I have been able to get the Qualcomm Port 9008 (COM3) to show up in device manager when I hold power and vol. down. Also, the program QPST also recognizes a phone in Sahara download mode (although I have no idea what it means nor what to do with that, if anything).
So here I am, asking for your help. I have read somewhere that a blankflash zip file could allow me to restore my phone but alas, I wasn't able to find any nor would I know what to do with it.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
Regards,
Afireblood.
Edit: I have managed to find a way to potentially salvage my bricked phone, using QIFL tool to flash a stock rom. However, to do so I need some files (which are proper to the Moto G7 - any other would not do). They are:
programmer (firehose?).mbn
rawprogram.xml
patch.xml
If anyone has any clue where I could find that (except everywhere on Google - it hasn't been helpful), I would very much appreciate it!

Update: Now in search of the Moto G7 specific blankflash.zip
If anyone knows where I can find that I would really appreciate it!!
I am not familiar with the g7. (I own a G5+). I believe the G7 code name is "river". You can look at https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/river/ and they show a blank flash - but let me say something - a blank flash must be exact for your phone. Its basically the main disk partition with other partitions inside. My phone has 64GB/4GB, and 32GB/3GB-2GB models - so you see a problem. But if all the G7s are the same, then this blank flash should be OK.
Also you can download the phones original firmware at https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/river/official/RETUS/ , if its a US model. If its not, back up 1 directory and you can find it by either carrier or country. You can fastboot the firmware - which I would do before a blankflash,
Hope that helps.
