Please help me
I once soft bricked my mate 10 lite, then used Stock recovery to factory reset, phone was properly alive again.
Then I messed up with using backup of TWRP, and it soft bricked again.
Now the following thread helped me:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/huawei-mate-10-lite--roms-kernels-recoveries--other-development/service-firmware-rne-l21c185b101-t3773170/post76149009#post76149009
then again I took backup of TWRP and messed up, now the above force upgrade method wont work
it will simply show this after 5%:

}
I tried alot with various update packaged and SD cards, but it wont just go after 5%.
Then I used different backups of TWRP for L21C185 some times the phone loads OS but shows
NEO-L21 version with android 6.0 and 3 GB RAM and internal storage as 32 (which is obviously not what
my device hardware has)
Then I tried Honor 9i TWRP backup, after it I used forced upgrade with STock Recovery dload folder method
now it went past 5% and actually completed, I thought I would get it back finally, but still it shown NEO-L21
Now I stuck, what to do, one thing more, in force upgrade method, I dont disconnect data cable with PC
it shows following screen for like 5 minutes (probably because it is looking for some command, as ADB devices
command) will show it as the serial number and recovery
then it restarts and goes to bootloop:
I have no idea about this cable icon what can I at this point ?
Another thing is after various TWRP restores, if I dont reboot and just flash Elemental ROM, my device gets
all hardware specs back with RNE-L21 as build number, but faceunlock feature does not detect any face at all.
Plz provide help if you can as per all above details.

I did everything correctly to flash this recovery image, but ended up with lots of errors. After flashing the image and restarting the device, it start saying "touchwiz is stopped", "google play services has stopped", and lots of other apps similar errors. Even, these error won't allow me to use the device, and I just recovered after flashing the stock ROM again. What is it? Why is it happened!

I have the A520W also. I want to install TWRP, but there isn't one specifically available for the A520W. So you're saying that the A520F TWRP doesn't work on the W variant?

It doesn't work. But if you only want to gain root, you can flash A520F twrp and use sideload function as I mentioned.
You can go into advanced on twrp and rebuild partitions to I thinks it's 2 then that will unlock them...

Hello guys I tried to make a Unroot, change the ROM, since it has android 4.2 and I want to update it for compatibility, this htc I bought it used and I was already rooted, I do not know how they did the procedure, I add a photo of the information that comes out when I do The fastboot.
If anyone knows I can do that whenever I try something stays on the white screen of HTC and waited until almost an hour and nothing happens.

From that screen you can't tell if the phone is rooted or not. have you tried going into Recovery mode? The device has obviously had the bootloader unlocked, from this point, you could flash a recovery, assuming the phone doesn't have one, and from there flash a custom ROM (make sure it's for the AT&T version of the phone). Android 4.2 is the newest OS, unless there is custom ROM out there, but I haven't seen one on the XDA forums. Also make sure you are flashing everything correctly.
Alternatively, you could run the RUU to reset the phone to factory specs. You will have to re-lock the bootloader. I have the most recent one somewhere.

Just flash 2.8.0 twrp
TWRP 3.1.1-0 is out now for all currently supported devices.
What's new in 3.1.1-0:
Backups will now include adopted storage keys (Dees_Troy)
Fixed an adb restore issue (bigbiff)
Fixed rebooting when no OS is present (Dees_Troy)
Fixed line wrapping in the GUI terminal (_that)
Donate for me is very much appreciated.
To close Frp Lock, enable Developer Options(google it for step), enable OEM Unlock before flashing
If your device don't have twrp, download, extract one time and flash with odin:
https://mega.nz/#!qR0X3bjY!q-_zzXlPA0tGM4i-3LNN5f88Birrkiifhg5eu2kM0HA
If you have twrp already, download this, put in your phone or sd card, then flash using twrp.
install using twrp HOME+POWER+ volume up: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip

Locked SM-J7108. Didn't worked.
Hello,
I've tried to unlock my SM-J7108 with this method (ant it's not the first one that I tried) but after run i run Odin it tells me in the phone:
"Installation Failure
You need to unlock your device to install a custom OS"
I've changed the options in the phone to developer mode, enabled USB debugging and unlocked factory protection.
How can I unlock it? I don't have the google apps and I'm desperate to put another rom.
Thank you in advance.

Hello friend. It seems you too facing the same issue I wasted my weekend on. Have tried various tricks but after failing all did windows oS changed. Give it a try but before that you can try these options and if you succeed its worth saving your time.
1. Open device manager- Go to drivers- Uninstall Portable Devices MTP driver- Refresh to re-install.
2. Open device manager- update driver of portable devices
3. Re-Install samsung usb driver manually.
You can find details step in you tube for solutions to mtp device installation failed.
IF NON OF THESE WORK FOR YOU CHANGE THE OS on your pc. AS earlier I was on win7 Ultimate now changed to win7 Professional. Don't know how but it worked for after all day wasted trying all possible solutions.

I used an extgernal sd card and placed the recovery image in there with name recovery.img.
Then turned on box pressing reset button and it went to the card recovery. Don't know if that will work for your box thouh

Probably a silly questions like...does this require root?
I install recovery through terminal emulation.
1. su
2. dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/recovery
To log in to recovery
3. reboot recovery

I click to install this ~87MB (in my cased it is precisely 86.4MB) updated and when it finishes I receive the following message in red colour: "Installation will continue when device isn't being used. To install now, tap Resume"
So, when I resume, the same looping occurs. The only thing that I did was root my device =(
Same here
I was screwing with custom roms and eventually decided to roll back to stock.
Installed the stock via twrp, upon first boot it said something is corrupt suggested to do factory restore and booted fine
Just now when I try to update I get the same issue. I personally stuck on V10.3.12.0.PFQEUXM
Someone help us please

Thanks mate but instructions were unclear - "download full OTA zip (not the incremental one, size must be above 1gb)"
Not sure were to get this full OTA zip for my EU A3

After some wandering around I found a google drive link says "payload_V10.3.14.0.PFQEUXM.bin" is this what I was looking for?

1. collection of Fastboot and OTA images at one place (use Google translate and click on "official firmware" ) http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=962154. Though there are Fastboot images with more recent versions available, so it doesn't make much sense to extract old OTA images yourself (unless you want to try it).
2. tune2fs must be run as root (adb shell; su; tune2fs)

Well that was almost 48H wild ride
lol looks im too dumb to run adb shell as root cuz after adb shell I always got 'not found' also couldn't find the actual up to date ota on 4pda
So I got slightly older ver. ota gave up on the tune2fs step and headed on extracting the system.img from the payload.bin then flashing it blindly using 'fastboot flash system system.img' and when done got thrown back to yesterday - no phone at all just plain xiaomi logo yayyy fml!
But! on the same 4pda I stumbled upon the latest V10.3.17.0.PFQEUXM Fastboot recovery, and after poking around the web re-flashing the whole damn thing with the stock fastboot rom seemed like not such a bad idea at this point of my frustration.
By now the whole a/b slot tuned into one huge salad in my head so I went for sure and this is what I did:
1. boot to fastboot manually
2. 'fastboot flashing unlock' (holding vol down to return back to fastboot)
3. 'fastboot' flashing unlock_critical (holding vol down to return back to fastboot)
4. 'fastboot --set-active=a'
5. flashed the extracted tar folder with MiFlash and holding vol down near finish to return back to fastboot
6. 'fastboot --set-active=b'
7. flashed the same extracted tar folder again with MiFlash and holding vol down near finish to return back to fastboot
8. 'fastboot flashing lock_critical'
9. 'fastboot reboot'
And hooray! It booted to latest updated rom will have to wait for next OTA update to see if it works at all :cyclops:
