I bought my Huawei P20 Pro yesterday, and started to set up my email synch using imap. I downloaded Nine, which I also use on my old Samsung. The Huawei is unable to Complete the imap setup. After I do the configuration and touch the NeXT-button, it spinns for a second or two and says 'cannot Connect to server'. The setup is 100% identical to my old Samsung, verified by the provider. I tried various email apps, including the email app included by Huawei, and none of them are able to Connect to email using imap. I managed to setup Gmail, that's all. I have tried everything, anyone has any ideas? I tried to turn off wifi only using 4G.

I confirm that IMAP is a problem on both Huawei P20 and also P20 Pro. I borrowed another P20 Pro, same problem. I testet With the app Nine on both Samsung and Huawei. Works perfectly on Samsung, but not on Huawei. I also tried various other email apps on Huawei, but neither Works. Ergo, Huawei has a problem With iMap.
You are posting in the Mate 10 section. Try posting in the P20 section to see if other users are having the same issue

i have a problem connecting my tab to the company server, i can't use the e-mail through the exchange, i put the same parameters like my HTC mobile but nothing work, it always said the server need to change my security setting and nothing happened after that.... any help
as an exchange admin, i know there could be a ton to this. they could limit it to client certs, could be limits on your number of devices activated,or just wrong settings or ssl certs. its a loaded question unfortunately.
it was from the application equipped with the tab
the problem solved by installing the Touchdown HD for Tab... it is working fine now and I can get my mails, contacts and calender... It is so obvious, the problem coming from the exchange application coming with the Tab and i hope Samsung can come over this problem soon...
Free app on amazon appstore today is an email client (enhanced email) that allows exchange... just a few hours left, though...
Hello guys. I got my sgs2 with stock firmware 2.3.3 two weeks ago. I was able to set up every account flawlessly except for my exchange office email. It keeps displaying 'set up could not finish/ Cannot connect to server'. All my entries are correct and my network too is good. I tried connecting on my former device, samsung vibrant, and worked flawlessly. So also on some other devices i tried. I have read in this forum several solutions and inhave tried them all. Connect through wifi , using the exchange account under 'accounts and sync ', using 'edge' only type of connevtivity , i have also updated to stock 2.3.5 and still having the same problem. I dont want to change the email apk as some did and will prefer using the stock email app (not third party app)
Please, does anyone having any idea on getting my exchange account to connect on the sgs2? I need to sync my exchange contacts, mails and calender. Will appreciate every response to solving this problem.
Thanks guys

I know you don't want to use a third party app but your problem may be on the administrator side of your account. Try the demo of Touchdown Exchange and see if that works. If it does, then you know it's a samsung problem.
Btw, there is a limit to the number of phones you can add to your email account with exchange. Each time you put on a new rom, it treats this as a new phone. Through owa or outlook, check how many mobile devices are registered to your account.
Setup for Office 365 Exchange Account (Small Business)
I just got my SGS2 today and tried setting up my Office365 Exchange account.
I ran into issues, getting a similar error message to OP.
The solution was:
1st Screen
- on the 1st setup screen, fill in username and password
- choose "Manual Setup"
- when asked what type of account, choose "Exchange Activesync"
2nd Screen
- there are 3 fields: a) Domain:user name b) Password c) Exchange Server
a) format is domain\user name (i.e. whatever.com\[email protected])
b) already filled in
c) normally, server address is m.outlook.com when using Office365. Samsung dares to be different - you need to find your actual server address, not the generic one.
Go to this address to get details for filling in these fields: http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/dd936215.aspx
Once I accepted the various activation messages, an error message flashed very briefly, but then sync was established and I synced very quickly.
I think the message was: "Cannot open connection with server due to security error", but I can't be sure
I ignored that error message, as sync seems to be working perfectly, with "push" activesync.
This was discussed on the Office 365 forum. Here's the link: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/160/t/5282.aspx
I realise you may not have Office 365 Exchange, but I'm posting this in case it may be of help in some way.
P.S. Must say, I'm very chuffed that Samsung's native Exchange client supports Tasks and SMS sync, in addition to the standard options. SMS Sync seems faster than it was on HD2...
thanks guys. I really appreciate all the responses. I have tried out the solutions provided . I installed the touchdown app and it worked straight away. my mails, calendar, contacts & talks sync completely.
I also read through the links provided above and really never made any error initially on setting up my exchange account. Though I still followed through the steps/settings for exchange setup and still encountered the problem. one thing I like to clarify is that I am not sure if the server in my office is 'office 365' has being explained on that site. I think we use the exchange 2007. if the exchange server type is the issue, will using one if the email apk posted under themes and apps section work for me if installed? Because, I really will prefer using a stock email app. or is there any other way I can get the stock email app to work without giving me those error messages?
Also, will installing one of the custom roms get it working?
Its me again... another issue that works on Mate 9 and not on Mate 10. Hoping someone can help...
I'm trying to set up a cox.net email as IMAP. The standard email app will load it as POP but I never get the option to set it up as IMAP. The support desk confirmed that it should be giving me the option, but its not. Again, no problem with this on Mate9.
Any idea if/when this will be fixed?
Thanks in advance for any help here!
Spoke to FunkyHuawei and they think the ability to manually configure "Other" emails for IMAP is a US-specific feature. That explains why I can do this on the Mate 9 US and not on this Mate 10 International.
At this point (August 2018), the option is to use FunkyHuawei tools to rebrand my BLA-L29 from the International version to the US version. That keeps the dual sim and adds the US features.
I like that I have an option (thanks to FunkyHuawei)! In the end, instead of rebranding, I went ahead and set up my cox.net email on the Gmail app. I hate that the app forces you to use Conversation Threads for gmail (worst feature ever that you can't turn off), but now my cox.net email is working as IMAP. I'm slowly getting used to the threads for my gmail account.
There is a fix to get rid of Conversation Threads for gmail on your mobile, but it takes some work. Here is the link to the instructions: https://productforums.google.com/d/msg/gmail/omm1PYsb8Pk/0hwa-5p0AQAJ
Another alternative is the Edison Email app or Outlook for Android. Or use the standard Huawei email and suffer with POP for any "other" emails.
Update: Gmail now allows you to disable conversation threads
As of Aug 7, Gmail allows you to disable conversation threads. The setting now actually does something...

Hi everyone. I have a problem with my redmi 5 plus. the company gave me an app to install in the phone to be able to authenticate to our server and be able to work. This app (called Account), once installed, will show the logo of our company among the available accounts, then going to settings-account-add account, I can add the account in question. The app installs, but does not let me add this account. I've also tried in other phones and it works properly. could any of you help me? Thank you
Hello, I switched phones now and I have been trying for the past few days to connect my Amazfit Pace with the Amazfit Application.
Every time I try to sign in via Google, There is a pop-up window titled "Couldn't sign in".
Please help me and thank you in advance,
Amit Pinto
I am having the same problem with my MI login after flashing a new ROM on my phone and trying to log unto the Amazfit Watch app. I have even created a new login to no avail. It always comes up with an error code (C020004 or C020001).
I just bought an Amazfit Verge today and I also cant login to setup the watch. Is there even a way to setup the watch without the app ?
Tried login from different devices with different Android versions, different accounts, different login methods like Google, manually, Mi Account, always the same.
The same happens on the mi fit app, just can't create or sign in.
Anyone knows what's happening?
EDIT: Also tried over home WiFi and 4g data with and without VPN, same results.
Same problem here. I tried everything but cannot register in mi fit app.
The smartwatch is useless this way.
Same for me, today I have flashed the Lineage OS 15.1 for my smartphone (Asus ZE550KL) and I can't login into Amazfit Watch app, I can't even create a new account, no matter the chosen method (email and pass, FB, Google...).
I suppose that Xiaomi checks the Android version and if the smartphone is unlocked, same as mobile banking apps do.

Well I tried on a stock one plus 7 pro, also on a stock old 4.4 and also asked a friend to try it. Same results, I don't think that should be the problem.. I'm gonna try on iOS and report my findings
EDIT: someone on Reddit contacted costumer support and they said it's a server problem wich should be fixed today or tomorrow.

I have the same problem and cannot use my new Amazfit Stratos 2!
Hope it will not be too long!
Same problem for me. Motorola Moto G3 with android, same errors. My amazfit now is bricked by inability to log in through app. Hope for some solution.
Tried it 5 minutes ago and now it works.
If still not working for someone, maybe you can cet help from my situation:
This morning I found out that no videos playing on my phone (from youtube to pornhub ), then I removed youtube app from my phone, cleared cache, restarted phone, reinstalled YT app and videos issue was solved. Right after that I tried to log-in into Amazfit app and voila - vorked like a charm. I don't know if this is due to YT reset or due to Amazfit got back the servers. Hope this helps someone.
Problem is fixed already. Amazfit knew about it yesterday and fixed.
I saw the problem today. I can't authenticate or reset the password (says the user doesn't exist) or create a new user ( "could not connect to network").
I couldn't sync watch data today
Tried resetting iPhone and reboot watch to no avail
In the end deleted and reinstalled app and now cannot sign in
I wonder if the Huami authentication server is down?

Got the same problem here. Can't sign in....
Same. Probably an issue with the authentication servers as tried logging in with all options on both Amazfit & MI Fit apps with no luck.
Watch was not syncing. Uninstalled the app and not being able to sign in again. The new update is very bad the old software was more precise and more data eg Heart Rate and Floors Climed is not there in new app. Heart Rate shows only if continuous heart rate is ok
Glad I'm not alone ....
Seems to be ok now
Can sign in and sync

I can't sign up since yesterday. I can't try my new verge lite. How can I contact to amazfit? I think it's inadmissible
Same Issue. Couldn't sync my Stratos 2 and reinstalled Amazfit App. Now I can't sign in, can't send feedback and can't register a new account.
