Emui 9.1 & Watch 2 Battery Life

Has anyone with a Huawei Watch 2 and updated their Mate 20 Pro to Emui 9.1 seen their watch battery life massively suffer as a result?
Ever since updating, I'm now lucky to get a day out of my watch, whereas before I was getting 2 days.
I haven't changed any settings and both watch and phone have had hard resets.
I've only ever seen about a day out of my watch 2 and I'm on Android 9.0.

If you look online there are some handy battery saving tips, like disabling 'ok google' detection, etc. This might help you to get more than a day out of it (will obviously depend on how you use it as well).

Unhappy with Mi 9 battery draining and SOT, thinking about changing for mate 20 ...

Hi all.
I have written a comment to another created threat, but I would like to read your comments here too.
I'm having battery draining and SOT problems with my mi 9, like I said in title (like most people I think).
I have tried everything to improve my battery life in my mi 9, and It's not bad at all, but I was expecting better performance for a top xiaomi smartphone with sd 855 and 5 months old in spite of the fact that it has "only" 3300mah battery ...
I'm not a heavy user and I try to get max SOT and minimum battery drain in all my phones, because I don't like changing smartphones very often and I like to take care of it.
I came from a Moto G4 plus, and I had 5h of SOT in 48h without high standby drainage (maybe 1-2% of drainage overnight in 7-9h) with a 3 years old battery and worst hardware and software. In mi 9, I'm getting 5-6h of SOT in 48-72h. Not bad at all, but standby drainage is awfull. It loses 20-25% of the battery every 48h (3-5% overnight), and in a smartphone with such a fair battery it's a problem. If I'm not getting great results with not heavy use and my smartphone is new, I don't want to think in 2-3 years + mid-heavy use ... I have tried everything (full wipes, reinstalling, the most powerfull battery saving, etc) and I don't have great result. Standby drainage is very hight compared to other phones (I have tried a friend poco f1 and I had 10h in 48-72h with 1% overnight drainage. It was awsome).
And now the question ...
I'm thinking of changing my mi 9 for a huawei mate 20... I still have the 30d Amazon refund and I am not comfortable with my phone's battery.
- Mate 20 pros vs mi 9: +700 mah battery and more efficient, the best ips panel without burn-in problem, and fingerprint sensor behind the screen (no like too much in-screen fingerprint at all).
- Pros mi 9 vs mate 20: sd 855 (but geekbech it's very very similar, and antutu winner is mi 9 only for gamming but mate 20 still on top), unlocking bootloader for mi 9 (better comunity in xda, but if emui works well I think I don't need custom rooms, the problem here is Trump/google vs China ... but now apeares to be solved and we would have newer updates to Android Q), wireless charging (I don't use it because smartphone is hotter when charging 3-5ยบ vs cable+1,5a charger, It takes more time to charge with elevated temperature), not jack (better for waterproof), maybe very little better cameras in mi 9 and little better results, 4 months younger (very little difference) and It's the top phone on xiaomi (mate 20 is the little brother because we have mate 20 pro, 20x, p30, p30 pro and we will have soon mate 20 and mate 20 pro; and that could be worst because we will get latter uptdates in mate 20).
What do you think? Would you change mi 9 for mate 20? Reading your comments. Greetings.
I'm sorry but you're asking about changing a phone on a forum which is meant for custom roms. And Mate 20 bootloader cannot be unlocked. So, i would never change to Huawei or Honor because of that.
Maybe battery life will be better with Android Q update?

I know. But there is a forum for mate 20 in xda too. I want to know your opinion too
Battery in mi 9 (standby drainage) is really bad -.- and mate 20 does not seems bad at all. Maybe between sd 845 and 855 no?
We will see if the drainage is corrected in android Q or not ...
What about xiaomi.eu? same drainage that official?
Thanks for your answer.

I haven't had issues with the Mi 9's battery at all.
Consider flashing Xiaomi.eu.

That's not 20% in 4h. That's 39% usage in 4h. Look at the screen on section and not his current battery percentage.
Come on, how can you even be here on XDA entertaining the idea of having a Huawei? Seriously, you won't be able to unlock that bootloader ever, and that's a HUGE problem.

I know, but I think that if EMUI works well, I think that I will not need to unlock and flash other ROMS. I think that it doesn't exist the perfect smartphone. Thanks for answering

I have just read it. I found 2 new tips I didn' know. Thank you. I'll try.
I could add some new tips I have found this days:
- Deactivate in developer options, the last two options (something like MIUI optimizations and alert)
- If you install Quickshorcut and search "installed apps" you can find a new option unaccesible in MIUI and you can disable some extra apps.
- Disable google assistant: in config/aditional options/quick access to buttons
- Disable voice match google in google app/settings/voice/voice match (disable voice match and unlock with voice match)
- If you hold any app in your android desktop you can restrict background app selecting the "i" for info/battery/backgroud restrict (you need to do that in every app)
- Uninstall facemoji keyboard: open it an use it some 2-5 min, and when it apeares in battery usage, you can uninstall it.
- More battery optimizations for apps in: config/aditional settings/privacy/special access to apps/battery optimization.
Have a nice day

Mi 8 Pro battery replacement

Well, my phone will soon be 2 years old. And I'm already starting to feel the weight of the battery age. Has anyone changed the Mi 8 Pro battery? I would also like to know what are the best alternatives today, because for the Mi 8 dipper you have several options. I wonder if the battery of the Mi 8 dipper fits perfectly in the Mi 8 Pro, has anyone tried to use the battery of the dipper in the equuleus?
I will try today, or tomorrow...I bought the MI 8 3400mha battery, I will tell you!
Hi! I tried to replace the battery but... Mi 8 pro battery(bm3f) has the connector in landscape mode, but mi 8 battery(bm3e) has the connector in portrait... Its difficult to blend the cable to change direction. The cable in mi 8 comes from the right of the battery and in mi 8 pro from the left. I tried to connect the battery and the device started but the battery went down very quick... It started in 52 and in less than 5 min it was 46.. Strange... I can see different voltages between the 2 batteries maybe this is the reason of the quick discharge...
So... We need to replace it by the same model , BM3F
Best Regards friend!!

Realme 7 Pro vs Redmi Note 9 Pro (ideas/thoughts)

Hi.
Just incinerated my previous phone. (literally battery fire...!)
So I've narrowed it down to either the Realme 7 Pro or
the XIaomi redmi note 9 pro
anyone here have any thoughts, experiences, etc?
specs are close, dont really care about the minute photo differences, or the pixel definitions, etc.
more interested in speed, ease of use, ease of rooting, etc.
thank in advance
I owned redmi note 9 pro (max)
Very very speedy
Easy to root, all you need is MAGISK without TWRP. (unless you pretty much a ROM fever so you need TWRP).
Does not require re-install all apps again on every firmware upgrade then root again
Little bit heavy
Glass back but boring color nowadays
occasionally restart or hanged which is unfortunate even with latest firmware
I'm not satisfy my unit have some flaws sleeping all the time without responding to TASKER tasks
However, I prefer give realme 7 pro a try as stereo speaker, little smaller battery than redmi 9 pro but OLED Screen, fast charge although I will avoid to use that but a regular charger to protect my battery Life., Fast charge are bad to battery
Light weight, only plastic back but sexy colors
But, I will only purchase as soon as I can see a true root method to that. I've seen some rooting realme 6 looks-a-like pretty simple steps starting from Unlock bootloader
