Underclocking failed, need help! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hopefully someone can help me
I tried a custom ROM (Lineage OS 14.1 based on Android N) on an old SD810 phone. It was working fine, however, it was hot (usual SD810 issues).
To resolve this, I installed "Trickster MOD Kernel" to "lock the CPU frequency" between 384k to 1.5m ++. It was working fine in the beginning, but after a few hours, the phone randomly reboots to a "battery sign", as if you were charging the phone whilst it was turned off. I tried installing the stock ROM (based on 6.0.2), however, it was still shutting off. It became way worse, to the point that you cant turn on the phone if it is not connected to the charger. I tried reinstalling the "trickster MOD Kernel" and remove the CPU frequency lock, but it was stuck to "ON". I tried lowering CPU freq to 1.4m++, and rebooted the phone, which rendered the phone unable to turn on even if the phone is connected to the PC's USB Port (it only turns on when connected to a charger).
At the current state, the phone still turns on at the TWRP Recovery and fastboot mode if connected to a charger, but if it is connected to the computer's USB port, it can only turn on via fastboot mode.
Phone stays ON if it is on fastboot mode, not connected to a charger/USB port
If the phone is turned on normally or on recovery mode, if it is not connected to the charger, it reboots to a battery sign as if you're charging the phone whilst turned off (again, the phone is not connected to anything at this point) then beeps twice and loops to the same battery sign.
Please enlighten me; is the issue caused by playing around with the kernel/CPU frequency? Or is this a battery issue?
So far, what I've done is:
1) reinstall LOS ROM, reinstall Trickster MOD and remove the CPU freq lock -> Does not work, still not able to turn on when not connected to a charger
2) wipe everything
3) install new boot.img from the stock ROM

[Q] USB connection problems, freezes until restart

Hello.
I'm having an issue with my I9100.
What's wrong:
- the phone reacts with connecting it to a charger/usb with lag, it recognizes the connection and disconnection after unpluging after +/- few seconds-1 minute
- usb connection with PC doesn't work until restart, after restart I'm able to connect once and everything works fine until disconnecting, after disconnecting, the "connected as media device..." message on the toolbar remains, the usb doesn't react anymore until i reboot, but I'm still able to charge, connection via Odin in Download mode doesn't freeze and works fine every time
- have had having issues with overvoltage, when 100% and still connected to charger, the touchscreen feeled "funny", wasn't as exact as usually, was flittering aso., after disconnecting, the problem was solved
- after putting the battery out getting bootloop, no matter which rom, only thing, that i'm able to do then, is to switch into download mode and flash new rom via odin
what have I tried:
Full wipe with flashing stock samsung firmware (XXWLS), reinstalling usb drivers, cleaning the usb port with air, didn't help.
Anyone has an idea, what might cause the problem and how to fix it?
P.S. Now it doesn't recognize, that charger is unplugged after charging. Chared it 100%, disconnected, but the message "battery charged..." remains after disconnecting.
Anyone?

[Q] Vodafone Smart II probably bricked

Hello i have recently updated my ROM but sadly something happened with my service, it just said "no service" and i wasn't able to receive or take any calls so i installed this rom again from the recovery, and then when i rebooted this device, it suddenly stopped on the green goblin logo loading screen and my device was unrecognized by a PC, recovery didn't work... so i tried a RoFUSiON which can install a rom through the pc but my device, as i said, wasn't and isn't recognized anymore. What i can do? i can't even charge it, last night i connected it to the charger and let it on. When i woke up and unplugged it, it had no battery! probably it wasn't chargning, it was discharging, and the only way i can turn my mobile on, is plugging it to the usb, doesn't matter if into the power socket or usb-to-usb, even the screen lights up without the battery but still i can't go to the recovery or fastboot (probably, because as i said my device isn't recognized so either that's the problem either fastboot doesn't work). Here's also the video about this, maybe someone can help me since i don't know what to do.. thanks in advance.

[Q] Recharge boot loop

Hi,
I'm having this problem for a while and don't remember exactly how it occurred, if I remember well, it started happening after flashing a non-stock ROM with CWM, but can't really reproduce it.
Current CWM is Cyanogen CWM-based recovery v5.0.3.2. The problem persisted even when upgrading the ROM to 4.2 (PacRom).
Anyway, as for the problem itself, when I plug-in the device to charger while its off, I see a legacy loading star similar to this one for like 5 secs, then comes up the battery icon for a couple of seconds, and device is turned off again for another 3 seconds. The whole routine repeats over and over infinitely.
Note, that the device warms up during the charging process while it's turned off.
How to solve this?

Afaik, this behavior is normal. When the device is off and you plug it in via a wall charger, it's fine; it boot's up and shows the battery charging icon. However, if you plug it in via a USB port on a computer, you enter an endless boot loop.
Afaik, the only solution is to charge the device via a wall charger, or turn the device on normally and charge via any source you want.
Note: I have flashed back to stock just to test this and it behaved the same.
Note: Jelly bean roms seem to have an additional issue where, when you reboot the device while it's plugged in (any source), the device goes into the "charging only" mode. If you are plugged into a USB port then you end up in the above mentioned boot loop. The solution to that is to simply unplug the device before rebooting...

Problems with offline charging

I'm havin problems with offline charging after i installed cm11. I've tried change kernel and change rom (i'm using PA rom now) and i'm still with the same problem.
When i plug the charger on my phone while turned off, it shows a battery icon with a question mark on it and i think it's not charging. Is this a general problem or did i make something wrong?
Try keeping it plugged in. See if it charges or not.
Also,did you change your bootlogo?
I didn't change my bootlogo. it boots motorola bootloader and then shows the battery icon with the question mark. I left my phone charging this way for a couple of hours and tried to turn it on. my phone booted with 0% battery and then shutted down, so definitely it is not charging. other thing I notice is that when my phone enter this buggy offline charging mode, I have to press power button + volume down to reboot my phone, it kind of get stuck in this mode when my phone enter it
Try using a different charger.
It doesn't seem to be a common issue.
Can you power up the phone whilst charger connected.?
I've tried two different chargers, one of my Moto X and the original one. If I want to charge the phone I need to turn it on first and then plug the charger. I can't turn it on with the charger on cuz it is stuck on that screen with the battery icon
I'm starting to think I've done something wrong. I did the following to get where I am right now:
I was on stock firmware, so I rooted the phone and installed the newest version of SS. Then I downloaded cm11 and gapps and copied to the phone. I entered the SS and wiped everything. After that I installed cm11 and gapps.
When I discovered that issue I've tried install JBX kernel to fix it and nothing. then I wiped everything again and installed PA rom + gapps and still that issue. Did I do something wrong?
No, you didn't do anything wrong.
Since its persistent across both ROMS, its not a ROM issue either.
In my opinion, its most probably a problem with port or the board. The port doesn't deliver enough power.
You can try flashing the stock ROM back, it might repair in case something s/w related is corrupted. If it doesn't work after that, then its a h/w glitch for sure.
just in case, if I install stock rom and the problem goes away, what might be causing this problem?
I can't re-flash stock rom because I can't charge my phone and I can't boot into the rom or recovery. I don't think fastboot charges my phone. I just realized that bootloader is locked. Maybe this is the problem, isn't it?
it isn't a h/w glitch because before cm11 it was OK to charge offline
You'll need a factory cable to flash in case your phone has insufficient power.
Look for it, there's a guide about making one in the general section I suppose.
No need, I've managed to charge the phone through USB on my pc. When I plug the charger on my phone, that glitch happens, but when I plug the USB on my pc, the phone lights up a white led and apparently it charges the phone (slower, but charges). That's really weird. I really want to know what is happening to my phone

Samsung GT-I8552: Unable to access recovery mode and battery issues

Hello,
I'm using GT-i8552 stock 4.1.2 (UNROOTED).
I did root my phone with 'Framaroot', the rooting was successful and SuperSU was installed properly. After this I didn't try installing any custom ROMs or any conflicting apps but still I started facing battery issues like,
1. After putting on charge, display shows that it is charging but no progress at all (it freezes at certain %)
2. When the phone is switched off and put on charge, the display just blinks up and goes off (lights on lights off) nothing else appears and no battery progress
3. Sometimes the phone charges properly to 100% but after disconnecting cable, battery status is 50-60%
The above problems occur not all the time.
The things that I tried,
1. Did unroot my phone and removed SuperSU
2. Did a factory reset from phone's settings option.
3. Got an original new battery from service center
4. Took the phone to Samsung customer care (they couldn't find any problem at all and advised that the problem must be in the charger) (I tried to charge with samsung charger, sony's charger & portable charger)
5. Changed USB cables for charging
6. Tried Battery Calibration apk by Nema
7. I think the charging port is little bit damaged but I can still get the phone to charge
Even after doing all the above things the problems still occur sometimes. Other than that the phone works fine, there is no BOOTLOOP.
When I try to boot it into recovery mode (volume up+home+switch on and release after SAMSUNG logo) but after releasing the buttons the SAMSUNG GT-i8552 logo appears and phone starts with no warning and all, it's not accessing the recovery mode or download mode too.
Is there any solution to the battery related issues or do I need to flash the stock firmware again?
I am not aware of the steps of flashing firmware, please do redirect.
Thank You!!
