Root access without tripping Knox? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Is it possible to root my s9+ without tripping knox? I don't want a custom rom. I just want the zero camera mod for 30 second exposure time

AFAIK, you can, even without unrooting

Mj4 update

Can we still root with the software update mj4 or do we have to wait on a new root file.

1. Take the update after flashing back to stock to get it
2. Download and Save to phone either stock rooted ROM or or any other rooted ROM
3. Odin TWRP, when it reboots hold volume up/home to boot into recovery
4. Wipe and flash rooted ROM
This is how I did it and works well. If your trying to keep the knox flag from tripping this is not the method you wanna use.
Knox safe. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484095

Yes. Not the KNOX Safe ROOT method though, once you trip the binary counter it is considered permanent.

To clarify. You can still use the knox safe methods if your knox is already flipped. It just won't reset the knox. However if your flipped already you might as well use cf auto and twrp

[Q] Best knox safe root option MJ4 as of today?

Hello all,
I'd like to start by saying i am fairly new to the rooting/flashing scene and have really been researching everything diligently. I have searched the forums a ton and have found a lot of info that i wanted to run by you all and hopefully get a better understanding and better options. I've been wanting to simply root my Sprint Note 3 to get a feel for things before getting into flashing ROM's and recoveries. Here is what i have read so far (please correct me if i'm wrong)
1 - The most recent update by Designgears for the Root de la vega states that MJ4 can not be rooted without tripping knox. This was in october and currently it is almost the end of december. Is there a knox safe method of rooting with MJ4 at the time of writing this?
2 - CF auto root definitely trips knox
3 - Kingoroot supposedly doesn't trip knox even on MJ4, but i haven't found anything specific by the XDA devs vouching for kingoroot again since the controversy. Has kingoroot fixed the problems everyone was contesting?
4 - I'm a little confused as to the different firmwares like MI5, MJ4, MJ7 and so on. Are these for different carriers or just updates to the firmwares of the same carrier in some chronological order?
5 - The bootloaders are in the firmware itself. Is that a correct understanding?
Thank you all for your help and responses and if i've missed something i appreciate your patience in correcting me.

This is CF auto root. From what i've read this will trip the KNOX counter. Is this not correct?

Root now not possible?

Hi all, I have a UK S6 Edge with G925FXXU2BOGB. I tried PingPong which doesn't work. Is there anyway to root this now? Thanks!

Knox WOULD BE TRIPPED. WARRANTY VOID, No other way to save Knox and get root.
Thanks! Oddly enough need to send it back to Samsung due to a screen issue so I will hang fire
If you want to root and keep knox intact then you can flash the Engineering Bootloader. This let's you flash anything you like without tripping knox.

Hi, I'm under 5.0.2, rooted with pingpong root.
