Android Auto issues with Stock- Any alternative ROMS - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I am having issues connecting to Android Auto Head Unit in my car. I simply get "Phone Charging" notification on and off. I tried most suggested things like, enable debug mode, reinstall Android auto in phone. Nothing seems to work.It would be great if anyone can share some hints on making it work in my car. I have seen others facing issues like only half the screen being displayed in the Car Head Unit. But in my case it is never getting connected .
I am pretty happy with the performance of Stock Rom except for this minor annoyance. I would like to know if Android auto works with any other techniques. If not then it would be good to know its working with Custom Roms.

it solved in miui 10.. wait some weeks when comes with a stable version.

[Q] Any ROMs?

Hello, I recently found a TP2 taking care of my dust and I was wondering if there are any Android ROMs for the phone. I know there are some, but I wanna know what's the ROM with the newest version of Android.

the newest android version you can get is 2.3.7 gingerbread
thanks to xdandroid

battery indicator is kinda broken and also my phone used to overheat.... alot. there's also the froyo build (2.2 version), which might be more stable.
you have to find out for yourself which one works the best.
there's also an android 4 rom, but lots of features are not working. check it out yourself.

Why do you say the wifi doesn't work? I've been using Android on my Rhodium since June 2012 and I don't have problems with wifi--bluetooth, yes, but not wifi.
What makes you say it doesn't work? Is it not showing any wireless networks?
what version of the rhodium do you have? RHOD100? RHOD400? I have a RHOD400, and the devs are also using RHOD400's. They don't guarantee complete functionality on non-RHOD400's (that's actually mentioned somewhat by wizardknight at the end of post #1 of the GBX0* thread that wizardknight linked above
Hello, I too am having lots of troubles with finding a ROM that will work on my RHOD300. I started the whole install with a GBX_3.4.35_Full, then the GBX_3.4.26.13_FULL then the OMGB 1.2.3 May 4 and finally the OMGB Jan 16, and all of them have given me a non-working wi-fi. When I enable the bluetooth it actually turns on ok.
I've been using my HTC TP2 for 4 years as a WinMO phone and finally decided that I'd give this Android thing a try. The wi-fi has been working for me all along.
When I first installed the GBX it was giving me Wi-Fi error (viewing in Wireless & network settings). After I switched to the OMGB ROM I'm now getting a Wi-Fi turning on... and the option is grayed out.
I've been searching around and reading through these forums and I'm trying to find solutions, but nothing seems to work. The wifi-nvram-generic.txt file option I wish I could try but unfortunately I don't know the phones mac address without booting back into a WinMo phone.
I would be grateful if somebody could help me sort this out as I really do need to have wifi on my phone, otherwise my smart phone isn't so smart after all...
I've taken my RHOD100 out of the dust, and fired it up to NAND flash it with te 2.3.7 xda ROM. I used the GBX0*+3.4.26.13 Full for my device. Although it's not very snappy, it's acceptable after recalibrating the touch screen. Don't expect miracles. Wifi is working fine. Haven't tested BT yet.
The 3.4.35 version did boot a bit, but didn't get past the bootscreen, which seemed to be in an unending loop.
I doubt the GPS is working.. GPS test didn't get a fix in 15 minutes and did not see any satelites. Also no support for front camera... but hey.. who cares

Very disorted sound on calls

Hi guys,
Got a strange issue since a month.
When I get called the caller sounds very disorted and there is a lot of noise going on. It's barely understandable.
Same happens when I call someone.
The problem doesn't always occour but it's way too often to simply ignore it.
When I hang up and call back directly afterwards everything is fine.
I'm running Endrohix on my SGS3 atm.
This also happened to me with Archidroid and other ASOP roms. Haven't tried Stock Roms since I don't like them and there has to be another solution than going back to stock.
Greetings from Austria!
Change your kernel and check.
So i tried a lots of roms now. All sammy roms seem fine, as soon as it gets to AOSP (Omi, CM, Archidroid) the problem occurs. Tried a few kernel now, all seem to have the problem. Mainly tested Boffela and agni kernels and both have the same strange issue
nobody an idea?
Hardware
Seems like it's a hardware problem. Why don't you just go to a repair shop with that?
*#0*# test sound is OK??
How can it be a hardware problem if its working fine with sammy roms?
*#0*# gives me MMI-Error.
Had a chance to test on a few other cars today and found out something interesting!
Accepting a call by using the phone gives me a 50% chance to work, accepting it by the car radio always causes the sound bug
@verny94 ill test the setup in your signature and see if it works.. EDIT: just saw your's is sammy based, i'm pretty sure it will work

*#0*# is service menu. It must works but only on Sammy ROM.
I am really proud that my signature help you
Alright so I'm running Omega now and the sound problem is gone. But still i miss the speed of my Archidroid
BTW! I completly forgot to mention.. the strange noises only occour when i'm trying to talk over Bluetooth so if I make calls without bluetooth connection they work fine but if there is a hands-free or a car-radio involved the problems start

LMAO you mentioned the important part in the end
AOSP/CM based roms have had some bluetooth issues. Either not clear or breaks intermittently.
You can try Sammy or Sammy-based roms for better compatibility.
I've had this issue for a long time. It still occurs with the latest CM11. Here are more details:
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-2884
Could you guys point me specific, tested Sammy ROM where that BT issue does not occur?

[Q] Turning off GPS, Ubuntu Phone, Nexus 5

Hey all!
I have been following closesly the development of the Ubuntu Phone OS on ny Nexus 5 and I was pleasently surprised to find out that the lastest builds are pretty usable. However I have one problem, atm, which is that the GPS never turns itself off, no matter how many times I turn it off, it turns itself back on again. Anyone know how to fix this? I'd appriciate any help
(I have tested the latest dev build and the latest stable one)
Thanks in advance!
That doesn't work on the officially supported Nexus 4 either. Therefore, I guess that it's on their TODO list. If you, however, want to make sure it's fixed, you can as always create a bug report on launchpad.net.

[Q] Can anyone recommend me a "stable" rom?

coming from 4.3, I've been going from rom to rom this week in search of a truly stable kitkat TW rom. I won't lie the roms were great in every way but each of them had a major flaw that caused me to switch (constant crashing, gps not working, wifi not working). I've tried dn3, r3ds, trents, and possibly more I don't even remember. yes I've tried agni. And trust me each time I did extensive thread-searching to troubleshoot my issues to no avail which is why I'm getting frustrated. I'm not asking for much. I just want a rom with a working gps, working wifi, and stability. And by stability I mean not just labeled "stable" but doesn't reboot five times a day and won't shut down in the middle of the night to fail to wake me in the morning. I also need s note 3. I don't even care about anything else, seriously. Has anyone had luck finding a rom with the aforementioned criteria? Thanks.
edit: never mind, finally found one.
R3d its the best.

Echo during calls

Hello everyone,
I am using a Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, running the latest xiaomi.eu MIUI 12 rom 20.4.30 beta. This is something that that has been bothering me but didn't have time to fix but it's gotten to a point where it's just freaking annoying now.
Issue: During any calls, using any apps, whenever I speak with someone and I put them on speaker, they hear themselves talking. This isn't due to bad connectivity or some hardware malfunction but due to the software. Last time I didn't have this problem was when using MIUI 10 stable release from xiaomi.eu around October last year. After flashing MIUI 11 beta towards the beginning of the year, those issues began. Now we are at MIUI 12 and the issue is still here. I rolled back and forth a couple times and going back to an older stable rom, the echo issue is resolved but that doesn't help when I want to use a more updated and more secure version.
Solution: Searching but people say things like some little piece of rubber missing inside (LOL?!) or that there is a problem with the settings on a root level.
Please help
I see that there is no clue as to whats happening. Apparently this echo is fixed by turning of the OK Google function in voice match. Any reason why thats a thing and if there will be a better fix for that?
