Fastboot problem on USB 3.0 ports - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, today I set up my notebook, to use in the future, MIUI flashing tool (No bootloader unlock in this machine, cause: ryzen CPU).
After installing the drivers I restarted in fastboot mode and all ok..recognized device (Android bootloader interface).
subsequently, to restart, I typed:
PHP:
fastboot reboot
message returned in the phone:
PHP:
"press any key to shutdown"
In my desktop pc (front USB 2.0 connectors), I do not have any problem.
For me it is a big problem because I will soon have to leave home for work and I need to use the notebook to flash the phone..
Any way to fix this issue? Many thanks

For me was the same problem. I made the contact between the Poco and the PC in another USB port and it is work! I don't know why, but the solve for your problem is an other USB port to use.

Thanks for replay my friend. In my notebook there are only 2 USB ports 3.0..so..no way..
I repeat, form me is a big problem...away from home (and from my desktop PC) for work with my laptop I can't flash my phone..

Nobody knows how to solve the problem?

Try this tutor and download the adb tools
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2764230

Same here it will be so much better to get this fixed as I cannot fastboot anything from my Ryzen PC be it anything

Hi Guys,
Am also unable to use fastboot commands like flash recovery and others on Pocof1 using an Amd lap. Tried with both my windows and linux installs.
Is this a known bug.
The interesting thing is that my redmi note 4 has no problem with the same lap while using fastboot.

I don't have this problem but I'm using USB 2.0 cable.

This is a known problem due to usb 3.0. It started working when i bought usb 2.0 hub

Just use usb hub it is the only way to get things working

I have tried a 2.0 hub and it works, although the hub is very old. What problem could I have with something so old?

USB 3.0 + Windows 8 + Flashtool = Flashmode problems

Hi,
Has anyone experienced trouble in this combo?
I own a desktop (w/ USB 2.0 ports) and a notebook, recently acquired, fully USB 3.0 powered (no USB 2.0 ports).
In both I have Windows 8 installed, and the environment and drivers installed for Xperia X10 are pretty much the same.
In desktop everything runs normally, never experienced any errors. However in notebook I'm not able to flash any kernel. The process recognizes the phone in flash mode, but quickly Flashtool gives an error message.
Maybe this issue has been posted somewhere, but I really couldn't find anything and "USB 3.0" is a too-specific term in searches, returning me no results.
So far thanks for attention and sorry for bad english...
..
even i have the same problem with my laptop but the other one having win 7 works well dunno maybe some problem with win 8
has anyone found the solution??
Yup, 2nd this. I also have problems with USB 3.0 and Win8 combo. It seems as the drivers don't work with USB 3.0 in Win8. Saddly.
@fsmaia
Try to Install Flashtol Drivers, in the same folder installation... or maybe you need the PC Companion
Install also this (Right-Click RUN AS A ADMINISTRATOR)

No this ain't helping. I've found out that the problem is solely with USB 3.0, and not Win8. I too suffer from a lappie with all USB 3.0 ports. I had my phone flashed with my friend's lappie, running Win8 but on USB 2.0 port, and it did the job flawlessly.
problem solved !!!

I have a problem when using fastboot mode

I use HP laptop and when I try to unlockbootloader, this message comes after a second of fastboot android logo. I changed to Samsung laptop instead and it works fine but I don't use Samsung that often. I don't know if it's because the driver or not but as I checked, driver was installed properly. Anyone having the same issue and how do you fix it?
The message says 'press any key to shutdown'
I also got same problem , currently using Acer nitro 5 i5 8thgen version

Pocophone cannot unlock bootloader

Hello, recently just got a pocophone and wanted to root it but no matter how many guides i consult(Probably over 20 guides at this point) i just can't get my phone to be detected in miflash unlock.
I have tried:
Enabling USB Debugging
Enabling OEM unlock
Installing USB Drivers
Booted in fastboot mode(duh)
Moving Miunlock file to C: directory
Running Miunlock as administrator
Disabling Driver Signature Enforcement
Trying to start over afresh still isn't working as i am very sure i have followed every step but my phone is just not detected.
Interesting Notes:
My phone was actually detected ONLY ONCE in which i tried unlocking but it stopped on 50% with an error message.
Driver Installed:
Android Phone: Android Bootloader Interface (Sorry cant post pic as i'm a new user)
This is just one of the many drivers i have installed, the rest are deleted by me during a fit of rage after researching for 8 hours but still not being able to unlock the bootloader.
Does the PC you're using have a USB2 port and are you using that? Does the PC you're using have an AMD Ryzen processor?
Yes,my PC(desktop) runs on a 2600x and I use usb 3.0(unfortunately no 2.0) I have tried switching to a Intel laptop but it is still not working, I have yet to use the 2.0 port on my laptop.
Edit: I have tried using usb 2.0 on my intel laptop and it is still not working.

Try different cables.
USB 2.0, Intel PC, Win 10, Disabling driver signing, different cables. Any one of them can be the culprit.
unlock boot loader
try creating new account with new sim. add account. to in android developer options then try again in fastboot might work download software again to pc
Still doesn't work for me. I was able to connect with my phone just a while ago but now I can't.
When my phone magically connected through my desktop(ryzen). I clicked on unlock and after reaching 50%,it showed that it couldn't verify my device with unknown error(-1).
I then closed down mi unlock again and reconnected my phone to the desktop and this time the phone was not detected. I suspect this is because the phone immediately displays 'Press any key to shutdown' after showing the fastboot logo for a split second.
Any way to fix this? I heard that some people used a USB hub and it works while some say it works on Windows 7 but I really do not want to waste money buying a hub and I'm not really sure how to get my PC downgraded to Win 7.
I've read online that registering a mi account and applying for unlock takes a few days. Is it true? If so how can i check my status? Is there a wait time for my phone to be able to be able to get unlocked?
I am not talking about the 72 hours or X hours wait time. I am talking about whether there is a wait time when you first apply for unlock.
I also read online that people have to input their reason for unlocking their phone. I did not get such questions when registering.
make sure you got driver in pc work ok on windows 10 with driver and internet here link to your fix

When you apply for unlocking the bootloader, there is a 72 hours wait (you apply only once). No reasons are asked for. Apart from this there is no other wait time. No status check.

See post #4 above. Should be an issue with drivers, cable or USB port. Use different ports and cables. Disable driver signing also before installing the drivers and install correct drivers.
I have finally managed to unlock my bootloader. All i did was i dug up my old alienware laptop(intel) and did a fresh install of drivers and it actually managed to unlock it. No disabling driver enforcement, no switching usb ports(i only used 3.0), no switching cables. What i did was right click and install android_winusb in the 'drivers' folder of the mi unlock file. For some odd reason, this did not work on my local brand intel laptop and my ryzen desktop. Thank you to those who have offered me help even though non of it worked(at least for me). I appreciate you stepping out of your way to help me.
Glad to read you've unlocked your fone. The world is out there, enjoy...
How to unlock poco f1 bootloader without mobile data connection ?
I had to root poco f1 but i was unable to unlock the bootloader because in my state mobile internet is banned and i am not able to add account in (developer options>mi unlock status>add account and device). I had added the mi account in phone with wifi connection. But while clicking the option of "add account and device" in mi unlock status, there shows that mobile data is required.
Howsoever, i added the mi account via wifi and turned on sync and all the necessary things that had to be done. But as i clicked on unlock phone in mi flash tool in pc, after 99% it failed and there showed me" add account or device in mi unlock status".
I want to get rid of this problem.

Amd Ryzen info !!! You can't do anything with this platform.

Just wanted to post some info about Amd Ryzen based laptop.
It seems that you can't Unlock, Flash, use adb or fastboot command on this platform.
It has to be intel based computer.
Yesterday i tried to unlock bootloader and flash custom rom.
None of this worked on my Lenovo AMD Ryzen Laptop.
I used my wife's old MacBook pro with Windows running in virtual maschine.
Trying to unlock with official Xiomi Unlock tool won't work. Nothing happens, no error message no nothing.
The same thing is if you try to flash TWRP with fastboot flash recovery twrp.img, it simply waits, nothing happens.
It's a problem with USB drivers. Use any simple USB hub and it will work [emoji4]
Enviado desde mi MI 8 mediante Tapatalk
I have a first gen. Ryzen desktop and it's working without any issue.I unlocked my bootloader, flashed twrp, and adb/fastboot works like a charm on other mobile devices too.
Yup, can confirm 2nd gen Ryzen doesn't work without an USB Hub, it's pretty annoying but atleast we can get those for cheap anyway

It's not your AMD, its an issue caused by buggy Windows 10.
I have a brand new Intel Core i9, and the antivirus stops/ partially deletes every ADB tool that I attempt to use, even with antivirus and signature enforcement disabled.
I end up using my Macbook or the old PC for matters that involve ADB.

It's definitly not the antivirus or anything like that since the same app/folder for ADB/Fastboot works perfectly fine with the phone connected to the USB Hub and not directly to the MB. Don't know anyone with a Ryzen 2 or 3 that has managed to get Fastboot to work without an USB Hub
I'm using AMD Ryzen 2600 and everything is working fine.

Same here...I think its non-sense it is not based on the Ryzen Architecture...possibly OS or Manufacturer FAULT. (Chipset Driver etc.)

Thanks for that info, I had read about people using usb hubs and had intended on coming back to edit what I wrote previously. However, i was not certain.
I am glad that you provided a definitive answer that will help this whole community. Cheers.
Eidt: It is interesting however, that I experienced a similar issue with my brand new computer and yet was able to use the old computer. Now the old computer has been updated with the latest Windows update and it too now has the same issue. However, using a hub indeed works. weird.
I have the same problem with my 3500u laptop. But ryzen desktop 3700x works fine.
i am having the same issue.. i have ryzen 3600x on b450 flashing with mi flash tool or twrp flash or anything didnt work for me.. tried minimal adb, qualcomm driver, google driver. didnt work but as i installed minimal adb in my laptop i fastboot and flashed properly.. something is wrong with amd or driver or chipset. any ways to get it to work.
I have a I have a ryzen 5 3600 and have no issues at all.
Yep same problem.
MSI B450 Gaming X and Ryzen 3600
Can't unlock or flash recovery.
Always used Intel computers. Recently got my friend a Ryzen 2600 with AMD4 mobo. Fresh Win 10 x64 install and we had a problem with USB WiFi - kept cycling power on / off / discoonecting / reconnecting. Was fine prior on Intel with Win 10. Found the issue and fix - Win 10 installs all default drivers nowadays for easy setup. Most USB controllers are Intel also. AMD boards most have AMD USB controllers. Fixed by installing AMD Chipset Drivers.
Using threadripper CPU, works fine just have to use usb 2 instead. Reverted to stock numerous times and managed to unbrick twice.

Hi All, I am facing the same problem, I have 2 poco F1 phones. One gets detected in pc and the other one doesn't but it still recognises usb pen drives using otg cable. I have tried multiple cables. It cannot be driver issue as one phone is detected and both are on miui 12.0.3, do you think it is usb port of this phone that has issues and if it is then how come the usb otg is detected. This problem started when I did a backup of the phone to unlock it.The developer option is enabled and usb debugging is on. The service center tried replacing the usb port and still I have the same issue. They said the motherboard of the phone could have problem, but how come the phone works if motherboard has issues. Can someone please help me.
