Micro SDXC Ultra 400GB From SanDisk - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Does the Poco F1 Support this SDcard?
Gesendet von meinem Poco F1 mit Tapatalk

Yes, can someone confirm if they have successfully used the 400gb microSD? Understand specifications say support up to 256gb. Just wondering if anyone has attempted prior to ordering a 400gb card. Thanks.

I've placed an order on one from Amazon for 118 Euro and will let you know. Lol

It does support it,
I'm runing xiaomi.eu v10.2 (8.11.23)

Can you make it to an adoptable storage?

Thank you for the positive response. Have ordered my 400gb card.

Hi Zeggi,
Just wondered if the 400GB SD card worked properly on your Poco? I've seen some people suggesting that only the first 256GB is usable? Did you have any trouble with it?
Thanks

okay, thanks as lot for replying. That's good to hear. So many people seem to be spreading the rumor that the Poco doesn't work with SD cards > 256GB, purely based on the phone specs, which it seems are often quite inaccurate (perhaps only indicative of what the company has bothered to test the phone with).
I guess also that some brands of cards might work whilst others might not, so good to know a specific card that works without issue.
Cheers,
Lee

I have Lineage OS and my system also works perfectly. The SD card is formatted in exFAT

Hello guys as a fellow poco f1 i have a question right now i use a 256gb samsung card for my phone and i want to change to 400gb or 512gb sd card ( 400gb is sandisk , 512gb samsung ) i check some comment above and it seems like the 400gb card work and 512gb is still remain unknown ( i did some research online but can't find the answer ) :
1. Can the phone use more then 256gb with 400gb sd card ? it would be useless if it just 256gb useable ( picture please )
2. Same with 1. but with 512gb
Right now there is no device can use 512gb card with me now so i can't try to test this myself so if possible can someone test this out and give us the result then it would be great

Can I use 512GB SD card in poco F1
And yes, I use SAMSUNG EVO Plus 512GB MicroSDXC with official MIUI - Global (before) end EU (now)

Can't mount ext sd card on recovery

Hi
Iam using a sd card 64gb class 10 on my sgs3.
If I want mount this card in recovery it says error mount external sd card.
I want to create backups on this.
If the phone is bootet all works fine. I can copy files to my sd card or take and save photos on it.
The path to my card is extSdCard. Is this the reason?

You dont have to mount the sdcard to create a backup on it.. just choose the option to backup on extsdcard..
If I do that it says to me: can't mount backup path. :/

I seems that your sdcard path is not properly mapped...maybe you can flash the recovery again using Odin..or flash the full firmware and then flash recovery..
I flashed the leak from jb li8 and then recovery 6.0.1.2 but it's the same. I tried older recoverys too.
I have no ideas

Try formatting your card again using the phones built in option under Storage in settings..create a backup before you do it..
Or format in the PC in FAT32..
I tried it but it's the same.
While formating I got no errors. The card works very well with any file manager, camera and Gallery.
But no backup with recovery on it :/
I tried different sd cards too. Noones will work on recovery.

No exFAT Support...

Hi folks,
I just attempted to access a microSD card formatted as exFAT with this adapter (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013OIGJFE/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_4e-pwbFQRCK91). Although the card was detected I got the message that the format wasn't supported.
The phone did reformat the card as FAT32 which works fine but not for files over 4GB. A bit sad that exFAT isn't supported.
This is shocking ! To date all the newer Androids I had used has no issues supporting exfat format. It is indeed strange if exfat is not supported
This indeed is very strange....exFat is the new standard for external storage...how could Google overlook this?
Cost.. Exfat requires license and $$$
I'd like someone else to test it though.... Sometimes phones are picky about the microsd card and don't detect it properly

I have marshmallow on two devices and exFAT does not work. It's unfortunate and as it stands I have no portable ways to transfer files. I even connected to my computer and it didn't detect the internal storage.
I am going to be using Elementalx kernel as it supports exFat and I need it. I have a 128gb external sdcard that I use.

Not sure if you know, as default when you connect to your computer the default connection is 'charge only' you have to pull the notification down and choose 'MTP' connection.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Solid explorer with its otg plugin can access my exfat formatted media even though marshmallow displays the unsupported media notification.
This is on the nexus 5 though, my 6p should be arriving tomorrow.
Has anybody tried StickMount for exFAT support?
So I'm using the ElemantalX kernel and I still get warnings about the card not being a supported format

However now when I launch ES File Explorer I get a notice that only FAT32 and NTFS are supported ( I'm assuming it detects the card and the exFAT format). I've tried in other file explorers and can't seem to find where USB mounts.
EDIT: just tested using StickMount and I'm able to read/write without issue. However I'm still on the ElemantalX kernel.

Same, works great. Too bad native support isn't seamless though :\
Edit: any news on speeds that you're getting? I'm seeing about 10MB/s (MegaBytes) transfer speed using a USBC 3.1 adapter to PC but I'm not sure how to measure transfer speed on the phone.
Just use EXT4, very easy to get windows to read that as well.

This seems like the best solution. However, after some digging it appears that ext2fsd is only REALLY meant for EXT2 and EXT3/4 work in compatibility mode. However, ext4 seems to use an inode of 256 by default which is not supported by ext2fsd. If you can format your card as EXT4 inode 128 it should be fine.
However I just found this... Paragon makes an EXT driver for Windows 10 and its freeware for personal use (but needs to be registered). I think this is the path I'll take. Thanks for the feedback!

Solid Explorer with the OTG plugin works just fine (although as mentioned above, the compatibility error still comes up). No need for root, custom kernels, etc.

Write access to SD Card ?

I'm running the latest OTA (2.1.3-X) with blu_spark r53 that I flashed by eng.stk's r5 TWRP, and I don't think write access is available to the SD card, also Storage menu in settings doesn't allow to set SD as default for full system, can anyone help me with this ?

I'm using XInternal SD currently, its a workaround, but would still prefer native support for write access.

Well, you'll be using kind of "work around" until Google gives native support for Android OS again. It looks like it's not going to happen, as many device manufacturers even stopped allowing SDCard in devices'.

Just use the same module along with a root file manager like FX or ES
I had to modify the platform.xml to allow write access. There exists an xposed module (handle external storage) for that or an app in the play store (SDFix app).
External sdcard permissions is derped in OOS since the beginning, most non root apps can't write to it.
My previous Moto G 2015 was 5.1 and external sdcard worked flawlessly, never had issues writing to it.
That change in the framework probably will fix it.
OOS also doesn't have a safe unmount option to OTG USB, there's still lot's of stuff to OP team to fix up.
They fix 1 one thing at a time with OTAs, let's wait some 10 more and all will be good lol

Following this and wondered how you manage to use XInternal SD without Xposed? I came from Sony Z and loved the Xposed module but as far as I´m aware Xposed is not available for the OPX? Please tell me I´m wrong?

I do have Xposed installed ! You can install it easily too,
1. Download the Xposed SDK 22 zip
2. Flash it by custom recovery and Wipe Dalvik before reboot
3. Install the Xposed Installer apk
Easy as pie
And this module is really the only workaround. So yeah [emoji14]

Sandisk 128GB Dual USB drive

I bought a sandisk 128GB dual usb drive with the assumption that it will work as a OTG usb for my Note 3, but every time I plug it into the phone, it would say "USB mass storage connected", then immediately it would say "USB mass storage removed safely".
I installed Stickmount, stickmount says that it has mounted it, but I can not find it anywhere using Root Explorer.
bump
Have you tried looking in the /mnt/ folder? It might not be called by a standard name. You can open the /mnt folder in ES Explorer (or whatever file browser you use) and see what shows up. Then install your drive and refresh to see what the drive is called.
I've always used Stickmount (though you need root) and rarely have problems mounting storage - I don't know if it's still required!
32gb sandisk
I use the 32gb dual USB on my rooted note 3 and it runs fine without having to install any additional apps to enable it. Could it be the size that's causing the issue?

Hello, I'm using a 64 Gb Sandisk Ultra Dual and it works fine. I suppose you should check if you changed its format type. In case it is a fat32 it must work so ask for a refund or change... Not a matter of Gb, since I purchased a 200 Gb lexar microsd and also tried it as otg with no issues...

Assuming the drive was new when you plugged it in it should be somewhere in the directory.. The only time I had issues similar to this was after a changed the format to EXFAT over FAT32
one question on this SANDISK Flash Drive Ultra Dual Drive 128 GB
it's possible to create two partitions: one for use with the notebook , the other as an external sd phone and install a second rom to do as dual boot ?

Convert fron exfat (micro sd 128 gb ultra microsdxc uhs-i to fat32 ) help me!

I have note 4 (so supports exfat) and atm I have a sd kingstone 32 gb with fat32. just copy/past all the folders from the old microsd to the new one (I have windows 7) but after I put the new 128 microsd in the note 4 was nearly everything perfet.I was able to see the fotos/video olso the gb of the sd was correct but...a fews games and a few app I just lost the shortcut and they dosent work anymore.ATN I put back my 32 gb sd thinking how to sort out the problem.I think the problem ist the different fat of the two sd card.At this point I will ask u help.Exfat is bettar (I meane battar saves future problems ) rispect the fat 32 or there is not so many differents?Another question I have two options...witch will be the best one? 1) I can convert my 32 gb sd (with alla data and foto) from fat32 gb to exfat and then copy the 32 gb exfat on the 128 gn exfat 3) convert the 128 gb exfat to fat 32 with application as fat32format and then copy the 32 gb fat32 in to the 128 gb fat 32.What u think will be the best way?And...I have win 7 on ntfs if I just copy all the 32 gb sd (fat32) in a folder on my coputer that will be a good way to save then as backup?
Thank's
