Can't mount ext sd card on recovery - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Iam using a sd card 64gb class 10 on my sgs3.
If I want mount this card in recovery it says error mount external sd card.
I want to create backups on this.
If the phone is bootet all works fine. I can copy files to my sd card or take and save photos on it.
The path to my card is extSdCard. Is this the reason?

You dont have to mount the sdcard to create a backup on it.. just choose the option to backup on extsdcard..

If I do that it says to me: can't mount backup path. :/

I seems that your sdcard path is not properly mapped...maybe you can flash the recovery again using Odin..or flash the full firmware and then flash recovery..

I flashed the leak from jb li8 and then recovery 6.0.1.2 but it's the same. I tried older recoverys too.
I have no ideas

Try formatting your card again using the phones built in option under Storage in settings..create a backup before you do it..
Or format in the PC in FAT32..

I tried it but it's the same.
While formating I got no errors. The card works very well with any file manager, camera and Gallery.
But no backup with recovery on it :/
I tried different sd cards too. Noones will work on recovery.

Bootstrap stuck at M dual core logo

Hi,
i just installed bootstrap because i have a gsm droid razr but it wont go past the dual core logo after boot ...i can solve he problem by holding the power and vol +/- buttons..but cant go into clockwork mod...
plz help
Your Problem is, you had Safestrap installed before. I bet now you don't have enough space in your Preinstall Folder. If I'm right, that folder is bigger on CDMA Devices and used for Safestrap. If you uninstall Safestrap, that folder is still filled and you got no free Space for Bootstrap. I'm not sure about that, but I know Guys got Bootstrap working after they deleted the crap in this Folder. Before you try that, charge your battery and got RSD ready to go
I'll post you an Screenshot of my Preinstall Folder, so you can compare.
BTW: I'm running an Leak

Safestrap is only for CDMA RAZRs, the person has clearly mentioned that he's on GSM RAZR
I know that, but he had Safestrap installed before (there's another Thread from him)
So now he won't be able to get Bootstrap working.

Without RSD and Fastboot Files ready I wouldn't try anything! When you stuck on Bootloops after flashing an Custom or delete stuff on your Phone, your Phone will die. Read the Forum about Battery Low failure. You don't wanna walk this way!

thanks a lot pilot for your help...i have 2 questions...
1.is there not any other method
2.and whether i will be able to upgrade to the official ics when it comes out without going back to factory settings.
thanks... u all r awesum
1. Not for Mac. You run an Android, that's against Apple philosophy
2. When there's nothing deleted on your Phone (especially System Apps) you should be able to get the OTA. Just save your Root with Rootkeeper (Store) and temp. unroot before you run the Update. Not sure about the Safestrap stuff that's now on your Phone. Maybe that could make trouble.

Help restoring to stock | WITHOUT SD CARD

Hello to all,
so long story short, my Evo 3D GSM sd card slot has died and it doesn't recognize any SD card.
So I want to return to stock so I could claim my warranty.
I spent hours of google-ing but all of the tutorials are using SD card.
I did change a lot of ROMs over the time, but never did install one without SD card so I could really use some help here, no clue where to start even.
Any help would be appreciated.
Never tried it,but as I read once you should be able to use ADB in Recovery. So you may use ADB Sideload or ADB Push.

Also U can use a RUU. You have to go into Fastboot, and then enter this command in CMD: fastboot getvar version-main
The number shows your version number,so u can look which RUU Version u have to look for.
Before using RUU u maybe have to relock the Bootloader, try once without relocking. If this fails, just lock the Bootloader again and you should be good to go

Ty for reply,
I didnt mention all of my modding knowledge on android is put-the-rom-on-sd-card-and-hit-install. :/
Everything else I did was using the tutorials on web.
So I would need a bit more help.
From what I can find on google ADB Sideload is available from Jelly Bean on (im stuck on ICS) and Android Push just gives me generic results about pushing the file to SD card from PC using ADB.
Thank you once more for reply, but I would need just a bit more info to start researching...
I forgot to mention, my phone is GSM and its S-off.
As i wrote,i also never tried, equals that I have no experience with ADB Methods..
Try the RUU Posibility. I edited my post, take a look That should work definitly!
Gesendet von meinem HTC One X mit Tapatalk
Thank you.
I managed to get my version, its 1.22.720.1
I found a list of RUU-s but cannot find nothing with this number.
http://www.androidruu.com/index.php?developer=Shooter
EDIT:
Ok, I found a RUU I need to use, but I have another problem now.
It will not run. I start the exe file and all I get is error shown in ss.
Any idea?

Yours is 1.22.720.1... So it wont work... Look in the Evo3D Thread, there you should find smth

Ok so now I'm back on stock and tried flashing rockz kernel and got the same deal.... I have also noticed that internal memory isn't partitioned correctly, as in I have all my files in a folder called 0 in my internal memory (which is also 0 but empty ) anything I download ends up in the first folder, even my twrp backups are there (infact in twrp I can't find them in order to restore!!!)

ive just flashed a stock ftf so i'll be starting from scratch, once ive finished rooting and adding recovery i'll have another crack at it!!
and thanks by the way, i realise now reading my previous post it seemed quite rude!!!
From stock ftf no problems at all!!!! I think something was wrong with the internal sd partition, I gave a complete flash to stock, rooted from scratch, flashed latest twrp and then flashed kernel in fastboot followed by hybrid rom and all is well!!!
Cheer for the support dude!!

Can I not flash the 14s Rom without Root or Twrp?
Maybe so
Method 1: From File manager:
Step 1: Download the multilingual EUI ROM.
Step 2: Rename the zip file as update.zip, and copy it to the root directory of Internal storage.
Step 3: Open the “File Manager” and click the firmware “update.zip” to upgrade firmware. Click “Update”
Method 2: From Recovery:
Step 1: Copy firmware “update.zip” to the root directory of the SD card.
Step 2: Shutdown your device, Press the Volume+ key and the Power button at the same time, wait until the screen wakes ,it will*enter into the upgrade mode.
Step 3: Finally, a picture, select the downloaded zip file. Wait for the upgrade is complete, reboot into the system

I guess not. Its not an Update. Its a Full Rom. I think you have to clean your device at first with a full wipe in twrp. You cant just install a stable Rom on another one
Dirty flashed last Full Rom over previous. Only wiped Cache and Dalvik Cache in TWRP. All went fine. TWRP and Superuser is still there.
In Settings Build Date 31.05.2016
Edit: You have to flash SuperSu again and Xposed too
just downloaded the rom update manually from their site.
LE_X2_X820-CN-FN-FEXCNFN5601405314S-5.6.014S
Then I went to twrp and it automatically updated. Didnt need to press a Thing. After that, phone booted and it said im on the latest version via push notification. Checked and its true. Supersu still working, gplay too
Edit:
SuperUser wasn't working, so I tried flashing it again. Booted to Recovery and was in Original Recovery. Flashed TWRP which was on there before, recovery was "bricked". It was half loading screen half random colors. Restarted, phone was frozen. Held power and volume + till it vibrated. Now it was really turned off! I then went to fastboot and flashed the TWRP from this package:
X820-TWRP3.0.0-0526
(the SuperSU-File in there is not a newer one)
All went fine. Flashed the SuperSU-File I got on the phone anyway and now the phone is fully functional with root again

Micro SDXC Ultra 400GB From SanDisk

Does the Poco F1 Support this SDcard?
Gesendet von meinem Poco F1 mit Tapatalk
Yes, can someone confirm if they have successfully used the 400gb microSD? Understand specifications say support up to 256gb. Just wondering if anyone has attempted prior to ordering a 400gb card. Thanks.
I've placed an order on one from Amazon for 118 Euro and will let you know. Lol

Hi Zeggi,
Just wondered if the 400GB SD card worked properly on your Poco? I've seen some people suggesting that only the first 256GB is usable? Did you have any trouble with it?
Thanks

okay, thanks as lot for replying. That's good to hear. So many people seem to be spreading the rumor that the Poco doesn't work with SD cards > 256GB, purely based on the phone specs, which it seems are often quite inaccurate (perhaps only indicative of what the company has bothered to test the phone with).
I guess also that some brands of cards might work whilst others might not, so good to know a specific card that works without issue.
Cheers,
Lee
I have Lineage OS and my system also works perfectly. The SD card is formatted in exFAT
Hello guys as a fellow poco f1 i have a question right now i use a 256gb samsung card for my phone and i want to change to 400gb or 512gb sd card ( 400gb is sandisk , 512gb samsung ) i check some comment above and it seems like the 400gb card work and 512gb is still remain unknown ( i did some research online but can't find the answer ) :
1. Can the phone use more then 256gb with 400gb sd card ? it would be useless if it just 256gb useable ( picture please )
2. Same with 1. but with 512gb
Right now there is no device can use 512gb card with me now so i can't try to test this myself so if possible can someone test this out and give us the result then it would be great
Can I use 512GB SD card in poco F1
And yes, I use SAMSUNG EVO Plus 512GB MicroSDXC with official MIUI - Global (before) end EU (now)
