1 gb approx for apps, but you can make an sd extension to have more space.
Don't know about 1080p as I've never used it.
I thunk the only thing left not working in cyanogenmod is 3d.
What device do you currently have?
Currently a ate blade but i had optimus 2x for a long time and loved it. Sold it for a bigger screen went toptimus 3d and hated it slower, less app space, battery hungry bad cm. Went for an xperia Neo v. Liked it a bit. Traded it for the blade.
Now i want something better the lgs i had.
I am between the evolution and Motorola razr.

[Q] Games & Video Formats & Resolutions That work on Desire X ?[SOLVED]

Nearly resolved just need the following confirmed :
1.Shadowgun/Dead Trigger works smoothly.
2.Temple Run works flawlessly.
3.1280x720(yes 720p) mp4,mkv,m4v videos play via stock player smoothly(i.e video&audio in sync , no artifact in videos)
4.Does the phone feel slow or lagging.
Thanks for your time & help.
Answers :
1.Yes
2.Yes
3.Yes with mx player not stock player cause it plays via software decoding (cpu supports it so no problem) not h/w...
4.No
Games that are confirmed to work smoothly :
Asphalt 7
Shadowgun
Dead Space
temple run
Dragon Fly
World of Goo
Draw Something
Cut the Rope
Angry Birds
Triple Town
Amazing Alex
Doodle Jump
Riptide GP
Hi, i tested this games:
Dragon Fly, World of Goo, Draw Something, Cut the Rope, Angry Birds, Triple Town, Amazing Alex, Doodle Jump... OK
GTA III - problem, after one minute game crashed and phone was automaticly restarted.
Do you want watching 720p? I think One V will be better choice for watching 720p.
It's a nice gaming phone, if you don't play anything too heavy. :fingers-crossed:

Exactly, there isn't much else anyone can say to answer your question, other then to send a complaint to the makers of those games.
The video on youtube you keep referring to shows a Samsung Galaxy S3 having trouble with those games. Now remember, just buying a Samsung Galaxy S3 will set you back about 50% of the money a desktop pc would cost that IS able to run more demanding 3D graphics and better suited to play games that have those graphics.
Now I have nothing against gaming, I do it myself all the time, but I do it on my home pc, which is much more comfortable. The makers of these games are not going to spend the amounts they do on desktop versions of their games for the development of phone versions of their games, because the market is much smaller and the price they can ask it is much lower. I understand you're angry that you spent (unless you just downloaded a cracked apk lol) money on them, but I'd stick to simpler ones if you really want to game on your phone. Just for kicks, I tried Punch Hero and it ran just fine. Reminded me of playing Punch-Out on the Nintendo 8-bit as a kid.

I play Asphalt 7 and Riptide GP with no issues here. Re One V make sure you can live with 512MB or RAM if you go for that. It won't get an official JB update either (due to the RAM limitation).

If you check the forum, you'll find another post about this ...
To my experience, bottom line on the Desire X and video : the Desire X plays up to 1080p, both streaming and from storage, without problems. I tested different media players, best ones are MX Player and Vplayer and tested all resolutions. In mp4 format, playing from storage, most of the players have audio/video sync issues. Not in flv 1080p, so it's down to the software. Streaming, just using stock Youtube app, all of them work fine.
When specs say the Desire X supports only up to 480p, it just means that's it's native resolution (800x480), but it'll play higher resolutions without a problem, depending on the media player, the format and whether it's streaming or from storage.
That's from my experience. Hope that's on topic enough for ya.

Also, is there a better place to download 1080p HD movies?

[Q] DOES DESIRE X SUPPORT 720p VIDEO PLAYBACK IN JB?

Please help
i just want to know that does htc provides with the 720p video playback in the new jellybean update?
And why the phone lags 720p video playback (by using 3rd party appln like mxplayer, moboplayer...) even though it has the hardware requirements more than wat is actually required, in its current ICS rom?
Does the phone support 720p video playback if rooted to custom roms?

I made few quick tests after JB update and:
1. No, It does'nt play 720p videos (tested with some videos recorded by Desire S).
2. Same videos tested with mx player (last version) and decoded HW plays OK.
I had not tested videos with higher resolutions or large dimensions...

Ok listen now
1.This phone CANT play HD video cuz the processor DONT support HD resolution...No way to play it
2.Processor can record 720pix video but the phone cant play it so from HTC will not allow to record HD vide on this device.
I dont know why HTC make that , maybe is just a trick to buy HTC one x other high price device.(SG S3 mini have 1GB Ram,5 mpix camera - Record on 720pix+Front camera and is on the same price- SG3 mini i think is equivalent to Desire X.)

You're right dear, but I was taking with respect to HTC . as being a manufacturer, it doesn't make sense for them to add such support. I don't know any HTC phone of 800x480 resolution in which stock kernel supports 720p playback. It is always the xda devs which layer on added such features to kernels.

HD Netflix on n9?

Probably a dumb question, but we are getting 720/1080p HD playback on the Netflix app... Right? I only ask cause I went looking for information and all I found was this:
https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23939
I also notice the 5x and the 6p aren't on there, so it's probably that it's an ancient article and all newer phones and tablets are getting it, but sometimes I wonder. (I know it's show dependent).
Also if it is HD, are we getting 720 or 1080?
I would be very surprised if we were not getting 1080p, assuming you have Netflix plan that offers HD streams. Even my ancient Nexus 7 was capable of 720p.
I just learned that Netflix now has three tiers offering SD, HD, and Ultra HD. Apparently my plan is locked at $7.99 for HD, but it looks like I will need to upgrade by next year. Ah well, happy to pay it.
Actually, the Nexus 9 is limited to standard definition, which is quite surprising, given that dmantilal is right about the Nexus 7 (2013) supporting HD streaming.
It comes down to DRM. Google/HTC either never put it through Netflix's certification program, or it couldn't pass testing.

Are you looking at this page. That page didn't seem to have the Nexus 9 listed last time I looked at it- I wonder how new it is.
That's interesting, though. It's been a few days since I tried. My Nexus 9 is running 6.0, but I haven't applied the January patch, nor have I installed the new Netflix update that just came out a day or two ago.
I'll try the test again when I get home. You can try it, too. Search for "Test Patterns" in netflix and start playing any video there. The video will report what resolution it is playing at. It will always start low, but in my case it never got up to HD resolution.
I'm definitely still limited to 720x480 resolution on my Nexus 9, despite running current firmware and the most recent version of the Netflix app.

Same here running CyanogenMod 13. The Netflix app maxes out at 1750kbit 720×480 when running the official NetFlix "test patterns" videos. I tried the hacked app with no luck. Is there some way to mod the build.prop to fake our device and get HD? (I tried & failed.)
Although I would prefer 1080p, I must say that with my above-average up-close vision that 720x480 @ 1750Kbit is more than adequate. Though, I am not someone who has ever watched a movie and said "if only there were more pixels!". I would rather watch The Matrix at VCD quality than Real World Road Rules in 4K.

I doubt it. I strongly suspect the SD limitation is enforced by DRM. Netflix is fairly tight-lipped about their DRM requirements, but my understanding is that to get HD video, a device needs to implement some type of hardware-supported DRM system. On Android devices, I believe that's usually DRM supported by ARM TrustZone.
If that's the case, a hacked app wouldn't be enough. You'd need to hack the code that runs in TrustZone, which is set up very early in the boot process.

For casual viewing, you're right, it isn't that bad. But I think you'd definitely notice the jump from 480p to 1080p.
@letsief
You have seen the hacked Netflix HD app? It seems version 3 introduced DRM but earlier versions were capable of being hacked.
Considering that almost every Android device being capable of 720p or better, the need for Netflix certification makes no sense to me.

With this: http://www.netflix.com/watch/70206978 or this: http://www.netflix.com/watch/80018585 or just search for "test" in Netflix app, there are 4 seasons of it.
I just ran the test pattern and ran at 1920x1080 at 3000kbps on my Nexus 9.
I had to clear my data and cache after upgrading to 6.0 for it to get past 1750 kbps. Now works at 5000 kbps just fine.
