Hi guys I own a galaxy s10, I was running on android 9 then I switched to the first beta update of android 10 in that I encountered the ph ok ne lockout issue where the phone wouldn't unlock even if we enter correct pin and resetting from stock recovery was the only option. But after the reset I'm not able to set the pin/pattern/password which in turn wont allow to add any biometric. I tried reverting to stock android 9 using smart switch app in pc still same issue and after that I received the official android 10 still the issue was not fixed.
I tried contacting samsung customer care but they are the worst run by a bunch of non technical guys reading scripts with no solution.
I also visited samsung service center they tried updating or resetting but the issue wasnt solved hence their answer was motherboard needs to be replaced.
My phone is 10months old in mint condition and dont want a bunch of wankers opening my phone to replace a motherboard when the issue can be simply fixed through proper software update.
Please suggest me any solution to overcome this. Xda was my last resort before going to give my phone to replace the motherboard for this simple bug.[emoji17]

Why did you update to the beta and not the full build? There was a hotfix for this problem in the beta around beta 2 I think?

From android 9 I enrolled to beta and installed beta 1 but within a day or two I got this issue so I reverted to stock android 9....
But the fix was only released for beta users [emoji21]

Just download the 10 beta and the OTA's and flash them in order. I'm not sure if flashing stable 10 will fix this right away.

So I'm running a stock Nexus 10 for development purposes. I picked it up this morning to do a little debugging work and noticed ANOTHER system update was available. I can't seem to find any news about it since it appears to be so new. Perhaps a critical bug fix?
Android : 4.4.2
Kernel : 3.4.39-g5b5c8df [email protected] #1 Wed Nove 20 15:12:05 PST 2013
Build Number : KOT49H
I can't provide a screenshot because I'm a new user apparently.
You beat me to it. I got this ads well. It came through sometime this afternoon. Installed and running fine.?

well bugger; I have the transparent nav bar mod active so can't install it even thought it's downloaded and ready to go anyone know the step-by-step instructions to disable the system "stock-ness" check? I've seen it mentioned dotted about but not how to do it explicitly...
I haven't even gotten 4.4.1 yet. I'm assuming they found bugs with it and 4.4.2 should fix them. Well I guess that's the benefit of the slow roll outs.

Yes, root will be lost by updating (can only confirm this happens when you flash zip using TWRP). Just flash supersu afterwards and you'll be set again!

I just got this pushed OTA to my 10 also. Installing now and will report back after some usage.
It looks like, they have added a printing option in settings menu. Aparat from that, everything else looks normal. It is running like a charm

I have sideloaded the 442 update but now it takes forever on the Google startup page. Any ideas?
Performance was noticeably much better after the update. I was having some stability issues with the initial Kit Kat release but this seems to have made things buttery smooth again.
I received 4.4.2 OTA 5 minutes before, but when I rebooted it showed error, the reason might be that I deleted Korean input method several days before... However now I check update, the OTA totally disappeared. How to receive that OTA again? And do I need use adb to sideload that damned Korean input?
edit: I tried to sideload and TWRP log indeed showed that KoreanIME.apk has unexpected content. However after I pushed the apk into system/app, I still can't sideload 4.4.2. Anyone help please?
I just got the 4.4.2 right away straight from 4.4. Installed fine now I gotta reroot.

I had one also. Didnt care about losing root since it is easy to re-do. I took the OTA however it failed to install with "error". It put me back to my previous build and that was it. Update doesnt show as being available anymore. Oh well...
In order for the ota to work you need to be on the stock recovery, kernel and system files. Make sure you're on those and the ota works fine

I've read of WiFi issues, lags and general hiccups with the new OTA. To be fair, most of the issues I read about were with older Nexus device (5, 7 and 10). I'll go ahead and upgrade with my fingers crossed...
Reverting to stock
I also rooted but have gained zero benefit this early on. Are the factory images out and is that the best way to be able to take the update?
Thanks for any help!

I had the same error.
Using the stock recovery diddent fix it for me.
I just downloaded the latest factory image from google.
And manualy flashed it to my nexus 9.

Look up the vid were he updates to the q update.
Just replace the files he uses with the latest factory image files from google.
What's interesting is that even with the error my system says it is on R now. I then rooted again and my tablet seems to be running fine. I debated just wiping it out and flashing the stock image, I'll do that if I ruin into any strange problems...

Android 7.0 "Nougat" OFFICIAL - Thread for early adopting and flashing and Discussion
So it appears the Android 7.0 Nougat release day is today after all (8/22/16)...WOOT WOOT
The website is up for the release
https://www.android.com/versions/nougat-7-0/
Reports are that the release will be hitting Nexus devices today, especially our 6P
Let's use this thread for developing findings, factory images, status on TWRP and root, etc etc. TWRP and root should in theory work the same with the N-Preview builds but that may or may not be entirely accurate on my part. I'll add links here as they come in.
When factory images are up they should show up here

its most likely the update process itself. Don't worry. Apps (without root) aren't supposed to cause to cause random reboots.
Sometimes old settings files and stuff from the ROM before the update can conflict with the updated ROM and cause bootloops and yeah the only way to remove those files is a factory wipe.
Its not your fault. Don't worry.
In 8.2.18 china stable rom this bug fixed.
Okay, so about week ago my phone got replaced(volume buttons broken). New one i have is 8.1.15 global. All was fine until today. Issue got back. I will update to 8.2.5 and see if it gets any better but im a bit concerned about what i heard about 8.2.5 global(battery charging issue for example). Anyone can confrim this?
No charging issues here on 8.2.5. No battery drain. I recommend update to 8.2.5
thanks for the reply, as soon as i insta
Thx for the reply. As soon as i install this update i will infor if it helpes or not.
Update didn't fixed this but factory reset after update did(at least for now). I wonder what is causes this? Some bug hidden in settings on 8.1.15 that makes conflict with incoming/outgoing calls? Anybody have any ideas?
Issue got back, this is very f**king annoying. I regret buying this phone... Anyone can help? I am on 8.2.5

Backup your data, use Mi flash to reflash firmware , that will leave it like in factory state, it repartition and reformat phone in the way. Many are recommending the MM beta 8.2.7.0.
I'm currently on 8.2.2.0 very good, highly recommended but do your homework and do a lot of research before downgrading or flashing in general. I think YouTube might be your friend in this case.

Issue is getting back over and over again, tried everything(even complete flash to latest available official rom with repartition)
All methods work for a while then issue is getting back after approx 2 weeks, i dont know what causes this, i am afraid that warranty won't cover this cause this is clearly software problem built deep into ROM, and first thing they do after they got in on desk in service is factory reset - this solves the problem for a while, and so on, till the end of the time... Maybe i should try some other ROM than that piece of sh** MIUi? All i want is good performance and stability - what rom will suit my needs best? My device is redmi note 4 snapdragon 3gb/32gb

Process is the same. Fastboot flash (or fastboot boot if you don't want to install permanently) TWRP, then use it to install SuperSu. I'm running 2.82 and TWRP 3.1.1-0. I also use TWRP to install ElementalX kernel.

So the build number doesn't matter? That was my main concern. All the posts I see about rooting have a specific build number they reference too.
Build number does matter except that you want to use at least the last stable version of your root app. Although, older versions usually work.
