As you all might know. The OnePlus 7 Pro was infamous for having lots of problems regarding the so called 'Phantom Touches' / 'Ghost Touches'.
Now as i've recently switched to a OnePlus 7T Pro (from a S10 Plus). i would have expected this problem to be fixed by now.
I've noticed when charging the 7T Pro all the ghost touch problems arise again.
It's almost impossible to type, scroll, use navigation gestures.
Now i've read that for the 7 Pro disabling NFC should work and fix the issue.
Disabling NFC on the 7T Pro however doesn't fix the issue sadly.
This problem occurs on lots of different chargers as well, (OEM 30T Warp Charger, 5V 2.1A Car Charger, Samsung S10 Plus Charger).
I was wondering if i'm the only one with this problem and if it's just a faulty device, so i can replace it.
If you're experiencing anything similar or have a fix, please let me know.
(if requested i can post a video of the ghost touching happening)
UPDATE:
After fully wiping the device using MSM Tool and going back to Oxygen OS 10.0.7 the problem was fixed.
later on i updated to 10.0.8 and still haven't noticed any ghost touches.
Hard to answer as I basically never use the phone while charging, apart from a healthier battery I got 20 minutes for other things Maybe used it once for a moment while charging but haven't noticed anything suspicious.
update:
Problem seems fixed after fully wiping the device and reinstalling the OS.
Do you use the stock screen protector? This seems to cause most ghost touch issues.
But glad you fixed it.

Can you share the procedure or link as I’m also facing this issue.
I have noticed the same issue with my Oneplus 7t pro. Strange that I experience only when I switch to dark theme....not really sure what the issue is.

Hello guys,
I've been very impressed by this phone so far but one thing that actually really bothers me is I often get touchscreen issues while typing...
Meaning I have to type several times on the same letter sometimes, and when i write too fast, it it really bad.
I don't have that on other phones.
I've been looking to see if anyone had this issue, but don't think there's a thread already.
I've had the same issue in the past with the OPO.
I've already tried several ROMS, and wiping caches, etc.
Does anyone feel the same ? and maybe have a solution ?
Have you made sure the devices display is clean? My fingers are slightly more oily than most and if I don't wipe down the display (on any phone) after a while it will eventually stop responding or acting weird. Usually it's not even visible but wiping it down clears it up (any kind of food-y residue can do it too).
Also do you have a screen protector? If they're not applied properly it will cause the digitizer to read your touches wrong.
And thirdly, I prefer using the Google Keyboard over the built-in Swiftkey since SK seems to miss a lot when I type and otherwise behave in ways I don't like.

Thanks for your answer.
My display is protector less and I clean it very often.
I do prefer Google Keyboard too.. so no luck, any of those things don't do the trick.

I have that issue only while charging from some particular sockets. But that is because of bad grounding of wall socket. But your case seems different. You should contact oneplus support.
I aslo have this issue
I used to use google keyboard in all my phones too
I get over this issue by using fleksy keyboard that allow me to use big size letters and now i have no problems in typing

Seems to be software related. I don't have this issue on Hydrogen OS but as I hate it I got back to oxygen and so far no ghost typing anymore. Found a couple of thread about it on the official one plus forum. It appeared on the 2.1.3 update apparently.

Hi, I have this issue too
In the past week I've changed to swiftkey keyboard, which seems to have solved the issue. Also, I found that changing the Google keyboard theme to black under its settings (I think it's called dark material) helped, strangely enough
Hi guys,
I have a Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon with a screen replaced recently. The problem is the screen only works after the phone is booted, if I let the screen turn off, it can't be waken up again. There's still backlight, vibration and all and I still hear sound. Which means the touch does work, only the screen doesn't display anything, just black. What can be the cause of this? Thanks everyone!
I have exactly the same problem on a Redmi Note 2. And this problem is not so rare because i found a few posts with same symptoms but i cannot find a fix. If you please find, please let me know.
Can I ask you something cause I'm a technician and I face similar problem not exactly the same. Were your screens bought with frame already glued and you face that issue? Usually such issues occur when they is no duct tape (sorry for my English) at the lcd flex cable where it folds under the frame or where the backlight circuit (I don't know the correct explanation in English I hope you understand). So I needed at my phone to replace the frame as well that's why I bought a lcd with frame (that of course was terribly glued). My issue is blacklight flickering when it wakes from sleep and if I push the edges it's ok. I have replaced a lot of note 3 LCDs without frame and I know that in all of them I had to put duct tape to make them work properly and without issues, I had only one for note 3 pro SE that was properly made. So I believe both your issues as well as mine have to do with that. If you have the broken ones, take apart the new and check side by side the flex cables and if you find exposed connections compared to the original just put duct tape.

Perhaps you might want to enlighten us as to which ROM are you using, and who is the manufacturer of the lcd display?

Hi, I'm using the Ressurection Remix ROM on Android 7.1.2, planning to update to Oreo soon with the Pixel Experience ROM. And the LCD manufacturer is Tralfagar.

Well, I don't know about Trafalgar - but if the new display is has an ebbg chipset, then you may have problems. There have been issues with ebbg displays and TWRP (when using custom ROMs - see for example https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...redmi-note-t3716706/post74815338#post74815338). Does everything work properly when you reboot to TWRP recovery? If not, then this may be the problem - and you may need to change your ROM to the latest MIUI releases.
I am facing same problem
I have redmi note5/5+, using custom rom (ion), I am facing same problem, changed lcd two time, tried with other roms, but nothing improved, did you find any solution.
I have a Redmi 5 phone. I had Global Stable ROM than switched to EU Beta. Currently on 8.7.19. I had a problem on both ROM. Randomly my phone slowdowns. Or at least the screen I don't know exactly. I have to press the screen harder and the response can take 1-2 seconds. Locking and unlocking the phone solves it. What can I do to solve this problem?
I have reported the issue. Please confirm it. We need official answers because many people has this. http://en.miui.com/thread-3446668-2-1.html
OK! I'm pretty sure now it's a hardware issue! Flashed TWRP recovery which also had screen freeze problems!!!!!
Than flashed an old firmware 9.2 something and flashed LineageOS over it. Guess what? SCREEN FREEZE!!! It can only mean one thing: it's a hardware issue. It's also explains why they ignore it: because they don't want to admit it! And because this much people has this problem we can say Redmi 5 is a FAILED PRODUCT. Xiaomi should call back this devices and give back my money immediately. But I think we are just ****. They will not care about it. Maybe only the service center can do something about it but it's a long and unnecessarily procedure. I think best option is to sell the phone and NEVER buy Xiaomi again and to stop recommend to anyone to buy it.

BUG report: http://en.miui.com/thread-3446668-1-1.html
Hi! I have this exact same problem but I ruled out a hardware issue because every time there was slow to none response, if I turned the screen off and on again, it would fix it. I've been looking for a solution and after trying many, many things I've discovered the problem was that I was using the Full Screen option offered by MI, i.e. the option to remove the three main buttons at the bottom of the screen (Back, Home and running apps) and to control the phone with gestures. After going back to the classic three button style, I restarted the phone just in case and I haven't had any more response issues in two days, I think it was a success!!
I also faced this problem for months, specially, after I changed my display as I accidentally dropped my phone a few months ago. Sometimes the screen seems to freeze temporarily, but then -
- turning off and again turning on screen
- swiping the screen (bottom-top) with a little pressure for 1-2 seconds
- slightly bending the device
Any of this three work for me.
What I think:
It's a hardware (display) issue. My newly changed display creates this. But I am quite sure, when my device bends slightly this problem occurs.
I just bought a new Redmi note 8 pro 7 days ago
Right now I am having an issue with my proximity sensor
Its not working properly..
Whenever I call someone my screen turns black.. No. Matter whatever i do it stays black...
Then i have to force restart my phone to cut the call..
Kindly help regarding this issue..
Tried each and every thing, changed glass protector, cleaning and tried different apps.. I did everything I could do..
I'll be grateful if anyone solves my issue..
Same issue here. Did you find a solution? Thanks.
I think some issues are there in the new updates itself.. i am also using the redmi note 8 pro and my proximity sensor also has some problem, however i don't have to force restart my phone. The thing with my phone is.. my proximity sensor does not work properly.... i believe the screen should be off when i am talking in the phone with the phone on my ear.
I'm thinking of buying note 9 pro global (joyeuse), but I've been hearing it has some problems. I don't have problem with software bugs, but some people said it uses Tianma panel which has bleeding and image retention problem.
If it is a gardware bug, it'll cause problems. Can anyone guide.
Thank you

yes its a serious hardware fault, tianma panels have burn in issues + there is a WIFI related hardware issue as well, I made the mistake and bought the phone thinking these won't affect me and now I have to put up with a phone which loses wifi everytime it goes to sleep. SKIP THIS PHONE IF YOU CAN.

Mine doesn't have that issue. Did you try test with a different router? I have no screen issues other than slight bleed from the hole punch which is barely noticeable unless you look from a side angle on white background. I love this phone and have no complaints.

Mine is a huaxing too, and I have no problems with it.
Also my WiFi is working normally with my router, but have read many comments complaining about the WiFi bug, most of them seems to use a router from Fritz.

I don't know which version you have but all Global note 9s and indian note 9 pros have the wifi issue, numerous threads @ Mi community and even on xda there is a thread with many pages. About the screen issue just google "Xiaomi note 9s screen burn in" you will see many videos about this.
Most people who are saying they don't have the problem may not be checking their router logs, because the issue is hard to notice on 11.0.8 and above firmwares, the phone disconnects from the wifi but reconnects automatically after a few seconds so the end user does not know whats going on ..... unless he checks the router logs or uses whatsapp web with this phone, whatsapp web will actually disconnect from the phone after its wifi 'disconnects' during standby...it may take 10 minutes or 40 or an hour but it happens its a well documented issue even the Mi community Moderator for 9S confirmed this as a "documented wide spread problem" but has not been able to give a confirmation if/when it will be resolved his last response mentioned waiting for MIUI12.

I have the EU version. Look I had similar issue with my previous Note 5 and Note 8 but it was fixed by not using that router. I plugged a cheap router in my main router as access point and never had the issue again. I'm 99% sure it's some routers that don't work well with Redmi phones. And as India had millions of people a lot of them will be using the same routers. That is why I asked if you tested on a different type of router so we can confirm

and do u u have this screen persistance on your panel?
FYI: Tested my joyeuse, manfucatured Aug 2020, with a Tianma display. Using a checkered pattern, full brightness, for up to 20 min. or so. No ghosting/image retnetion whatsoever.
I bought a note 9s with tianma panel with no lightbleed at the edges. There is also no lightbleed at the selfie camera cutout but on a white background I notice a slight area of reduced brightness (not grey but a little bit not as white as the general panel color) at the bottom part of the cutout. It is very small and curves with the cutout shape and I also have to look from an angle to notice it.
If I'm to nitpick, if i put on a white background and set brightness really high, i can notice some areas of slightly less brightness at the left and right bottom extremes extending about 0.2mm from the curved part. These are so far from anything that no app has any content there so it doesn't bother me. I also have to look at it from an offset angle (about 100°). Who uses their phone looking at it from this extreme angle? Like i said, the display issue is nitpicking.
I can't say anything about wifi because I'm mostly on 4G. That's a worse issue than the screen but apparently it could also be eliminated by changing wifi routers.
I bought mine (6+128 GB) for $200 and compared to other phone brands, this is a lot of phone for $200 so I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone. This os my first Xiaomi phone and I'm already a fan.

I use Redmi Note 9s 6/128 vatiant and it does have screen burn. Whenever i play cod for a couple hours some of the buttons still appear and will appear for a few hours. I also read alot of Manga and the edges of the screen would turn yellowish/orangey on gray shades. Still not fixed and been suffering for months already. It's less visible on white screen but very apparent on gray ones
