volume down key dead after USB port replaced, Which connector? - Sony Xperia X Questions & Answers

Dear all,
as the subject says, I replaced the faulty USB port for a new one, and after reassembling the phone everything is find except for the volume down key. Needless to say I double- and triple checked the connectors. But I don't know which one is responsible for connecting the volume keys to the motherboard. Is there a schematic drawing of the board available somewhere?

Found the connector responsible, it is the one next to the battery connector.

Screen connector differences and rebuilding displays

I have a problem with my XDA2 whereby the 22 pin connector at the bottom of the device has become detached from the main board (after being dropped! outch!)
I have managed to resolder the connector back onto the board, however it appears that a couple of tracks have become detached from the board along with the connector which now means that the serial and usb ports no longer work!! - and there appears to be no way to tell where these pins connect to..
In an attempt to obtain a replacement board i have got hold of a damaged XDA2 from ebay which has a broken screen. However the connector on the board for the screen in this XDA2 is completely different to the one in my XDA2 making it impossible to swap the boards over (or the screens for that matter).
Does anyone know if it is possible to disassemble these displays so that i can produce a display that works with the right connector attached? I know that it's posible to replace the touch screen on these displays but i've no idea how - and i dont want to damage my working display!!
Any help would be apprecated

[Q] HELP!!! broken black wire/connector inside HD2

Hello all.
While I was taking my HD2 apart to replace a cracked screen (glass digitizer) I accidentally broke the connector off one of the wires. The wire is black and a few inches long with a silver and round press on connector on each end. It attaches to the board that houses the vibrator motor and runs down the right side of the phone (if you were looking at it face down and partially disassembled).
Unfortunately, I lost the metal piece that broke off the wire (the thing is tiny!), so I can't just solder it back on. Any idea on where I can buy a replacement? I've spent about 6 hours today on ebay and google to no avail. Searching for "HD2 black wire" and anything similar is hardly efficient, but that's all I know about it.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
Good question, I think I damaged the cable to the volume buttons so it would be cool if someone has an adress where we can get spare parts except LCD and Digitizer..
this guy on ebay seems to be selling an HD2 in parts. you might find what you need here:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Right-Click-Enterprises/_i.html?_nkw=hd2&submit=Search&_sid=131407386
Thanks, I sent that guy a message and hopefully it'll work out.
Anyone else have a source?
connector of my hd2 is also broken HTC says that the mainboard must be change and I have to pay € 230 because that is my responsibility
I think you have damaged your coaxial cable connector for wifi and bluetooth. Google will help you perhaps.
I believe that my wifi/bluetooth cable is broken, as I have no wifi or bluetooth signal since dropping my phone as reported in a previous post of mine. Can anybody advise me on the difficulty of undertaking this repair myself, does it involve complete disassembly of phone, any soldering etc. If this is the case I don't feel confident enough to do this so does anybody know of someone who does this sort of repair, I have found the cable on e bay for £7 and it looks like it has push on connectors ?
if the connectors on the boards are not broken then all you need is the coaxial cable with connectors on the two end. you need not disassemble the whole set, just open the back cover, connect one end of the cable to mother board and other end to the rigid flex board and that's it.
WiFi and Bluetooth not working

Do you think that this is my problem as since I dropped my HD2 I have no wifi (unless sat ontop of router) or bluetooth or fm radio, is it easy to get to the coax cable by removing back cover, whereabouts is it ?

Fixed it, opened up phone and spotted that at one end of the black wire the connector was not pushed onto the motherboard securely, I pushed it home and hey presto, wifi and Bluetooth now working, phew, Thanks for your help !

ARIA power button frex cable ripped.NEED HELP

ARIA power button frex cable ripped.
Is there any solution to recover it? Anyone knows pinout on mainboard?
No, sorry. The power button is part of the flex cable. You must change the entire flex cable.
You can turn on the phone plugging it to your computer or charger then inserting the battery.
Hello,
This is a little bit old of a thread, however if you have not solved your issue there is a hardware solution. I own an electronics repair store (iRepairNational.com) and we just had a customer in who ripped that flex cable trying to repair the screen. The general steps are:
1) Cut the button PCB portion off the remaing flex cable, remove the tape and metal button cap and solder two micro leads to the button PCB; one to the inner disc (cut a small notch into the side of the PCB so you can access the inner disc without shorting against the outer disc) and one to the outer disc.
2) Solder one of the micro leads to ground, any ground will work.
3) If you examine the bottom of the PCB where the flex originally was sandwiched, you will see two micro SMT resistors. Solder the second lead to the leftmost of the two resistors. Take CARE not to de-solder that SMT resistor by getting it too hot.
4) You will need to flow solder onto the two discs you soldered the leads to originally so the leads do not create bumps preventing the button cap from springing correctly.
5) Replace the button cap/tape and install your now working power button
If this is a little more than you want to get into or you don't have micro soldering tools, we perform the repair for $48.

[Q] replacing the power button and micro usb port

so i managed to mess up the flex cable connected to the power button AND ruin my micro USB port ( i accidentally broke the far left pin, and while trying to replace it drenched the rest in solder) ((internal pins, not external)) does anybody know how i could replace these or fix them without breaking the bank (teenager with no job >.>)
*in case anyone was wondering, i broke them doing this : http://youtu.be/0ga4N_Ih9GE
EDIT: i have an old blackberry with a microusb port somewhere if that could be useful somehow?
edit2: started to wick some of the solder off of the pins with my iron, i dont actually have a wick. unfortunately i have class in the morning and some papers to write so i wont be able to do much. looks like im going back to my old motorola cliq until i can figure this out. anyone have any advice for soldering extremely small connections so maybe i can redo the pins? i have an idea for the power button.

[Q] How to replace volume ribbon flex.

I would like to know how to replace the volume ribbon flex cable in my tablet.
I have opened it up before to replace my battery.
Now both volumes are broken.
I bought one in ebay, but the flex cable doesn't match.
Before I realized the flex cable wasn't the one i need, I tried to get the volume ribbon flex cable off my tablet, but it was too hard and I want to know how to take it out.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Without it, I can't really do recoveries because I have CWM and it needs the rockers to move up and down.
