Disable signature verification on device with no TWRP support - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a samsung s4 sch-i545 that was factory reset from recovery mode. My goal is to install a custom rom. When powered up, the samsung setup wizard requires samsung account credentials to get into the phone (which I don't know). There is no custom recovery installed on the device, and there appears to be no TWRP img file available to flash. I want to either get past the setup wizard in the phone to turn on usb debugging and oem unlocking, or turn off signature verification so I can install the cutom rom. How do you do this?
Thank you for reading this!

Phone stuck in boot loop - Need to turn on USB debugging

I am currently in a situation where USB debugging was not enabled, CROM service status is set to "Locked". This is causing an issue on my International Galaxy S6 Edge (g9250) -- It is stuck in a boot loop and the android OS that was previously installed was wiped on accident through the stock android recovery mode.
I am unable to flash TWRP recovery to the phone, I am unable to use Odin to flash a stock ROM image to the phone, or perform any data transfer between my Windows machine to the phone. Smart Switch also does not work. Also Now I am sure this is because I never enabled developer mode and turned on USB debugging, and also because this CROM service is set to lock. When I attempt to sideload using ADB I get error:closed. When using the Skipsoft Unified Android Toolkit any task performed stops at: "Waiting for USB debugging".
Is there any solution for this? I've looked all over the internet and haven't been able to solve my issue -- I'm stuck at a perpetual boot loop because there is no Android OS on the device's partition, and also am unable to flash the stock ROM using ODIN or sideload using ADB.
Is there is a way to turn on USB debugging when stuck in a bootloop? Or a way to disable CROM service on the phone to be able to flash or transfer files?
As of right now the device is completely useless and I have been researching for the past 5 days
Any help is very appreciated, please let know if there is more information needed.
Hi there. I am presently stuck in the exactly same situation. Can you please tell me what you did after that. thanks

[HELP] Bootloop Xposed module no USB debugging

Hi XDA Community,
I have been a silent reader and user of many custom roms but now I can't solve my problem alone, I have to admit. My current device is a redmi note 3 and I am using it for about a year now. Today the phone went into a bootloop itself and I can't bring it back.
It runs the CM 14.1 kenzo and got xposed and xprivacy installed.
The problem is caused by xposed (very sure) but unfortunately every solution I tried failed.
-My plan was to flash the xposed disabler.zip using TWRP 3.0.2-2 but that won't let me get to main menu. Its stuck at the twrp boot screen. (Any ideas why? Maybe weak battery)
-The next I tried was entering fastboot and flash it this way, but it seems like usb debugging is disabled. (Is there a chance to enabled USB debugging without beeing able to boot?)
-Next I tried was to enter edl mode and flash twrp again using miflash but that gave me the error "unable to communicate on port COM10"
So now I really don't know what to do to disable the xposed moduls and boot again.
I guess possible was would be to enable usb debugging or find out why twrp won't boot or flash that disabler zip in odin. But let me know what ideas you have.
Thanks for your help guys

xposed is not supported on android 7 roms, please dont try that again.
i would suggest that if fastboot is accessible you should use miflash to starover with miui.
if you can access fastboot mode and your device is officially unlocked then try to boot into twrp using fastboot boot <name of the recovery>.img
or you can try flash with mitools (USB debugging is not needed for flashing ). you can use the deep flash cable to flash your device in edl mode
Follow this guide http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html

Samsung A520F Dual stuck on Stock Recovery

Hello Gurus,
I have Samsung A5 520F/DS model, it has strange problem, cell neither root nor oem unlocked, now cell restart every 1 minute, m not able to reset, because if i reset after restart same result, if i use odin than gave error "Custom Binary Locked FRP" ?, if i tried to unlock OEM than automatically turned off, usb debugger also not work anyone tell me how i restore in cell or install Custom Recovery so i can restore stock rom

Current OS - Stock Samsung 7.0

Can´t install TWRP

I want to install TWRP on my Umidigi F1 so I can root it and install custom roms and all that
I am using the latest version of SP Flash Tool from here and the most recent stock rom from here to flash this TWRP 3.2.3 Image.
Everything works fine, but after flashing, if I try to boot into recovery (which I think is Power + Volume Up) it says
Code:
Red State
Your device has failed verification and may not work properly
Please download recovery image with verified signature or disable verified boot
Rebooting in 5 seconds....
And then it just reboots into normal Android.
From there on, it acts as if I hadn´t done anything and booting into recovery again just shows me the Android thingy and says
Code:
No Command
Booting with Volume Down always brings me to some chinese things I don´t understand but that very much looks like some kind of recovery to me as well.
Note that I have enabled USB Debugging and OEM unlocking in the settings and that SP Flash Tool states "Download OK" like it does after successfully flashing.
Now can someone help me installing TWRP on my F1?
Thank you for any help
Oh btw I just noticed this somehow didn´t end up in the Umidigi F1 section and I can´t figure out how to put it there either
So if you could tell me how, that´d be awsome

Bypass Samsung Knox factory reset protection

I have an Android device supplied by my government for students and secured by Samsung Knox. However & unfortunately, I forgot the security pattern of the device and I want to hard reset it to access it again. But Knox prevents factory reset by all the ways :/
I have tried entering the pattern in a wrong way 20+ times but it still refuses to achieve a factory reset. I have also tried booting into Android recovery but the factory reset option says MDM disallows factory reset.
Also Google's Find My Device can't even detect the device so I can't reset it using Google's Find My Device. And developer options are disabled by Knox too so I can't do it using adb
I know that I have made it complex but its the truth and I was wondering if someone knows any way or PC tool to hard reset without USB debugging, or a PC tool that can enable USB debugging.
I don't want to flash ROMs because they will erase Knox which I shouldn't erase :/
Any help would be appreciated.
hard reset of a device with secure knox
I have exactly the same problem.
Can you share the solution if you found one?
Thanks.

I can enter "safe mode" but even there the tablet ask me for the password I haven't got in order to switch off the flight mode that prevents any attempt to locate the smartphone from the Samsung remote service.
Secured Knox prevents hard reset.
No password + flight mode on => Do I throw an almost new device to the bin?
There should be a way, I cannot imagine there is not way around this.

Odin mode is disabled by administrator
I don't know how could it be possible
so when pressing power button, volume down and home all together (samsung galaxy tab A sm-t585)
the device is ignoring me completely and boot normally into android
I need to flash another official firmware.
pleeeeeeease , can anyone give me a working method to flash that firmware.
Thanx in advance
you are forced to go to a samsung outlet to apply for a warranty
Anyone find a solution to this?
Update for posterity. I did find a way around this. You essentially have to re-flash your device - which isn't difficult, but it will result in losing all data on the device.
1. Enter download mode by holding vol+, vol- & power keys while plugging in your phone via USB to your computer (windows machines only). This must be done from a powered off status.
2. Download Odin
3. Download OEM firmware for your device (Samfirm or Firja tools can help with this)
4. Download Samsung USB drivers
5. With all of these tools and with your firmware obtained, go into download mode and flash your device.
6. Once complete, the device will format itself (you will lose all data) and boot into initial configuration mode where you can set up you device as if it were new.

Nope. Phone works as if it were new out of the box.

This procedure didn't work for me.
In order to factory reset, before flashing the stock firmware/ROM, I had to flash the TWRP and wipe everything.
Followed this procedure for my galaxy tab:
[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.8.3.0 for Galaxy Tab 4 8 inch
Support is discontinued. Between the 6 different variants that I made this recovery for, it has been downloaded less than 500 times total over a 2 month period. That tells me that this device is simply not popular enough for continued support...

It worked fine. Once wiped through recovery TWRP, I flashed the stock ROM and everything was fine and factory reset.
Unfortunately before starting I tried an auto root procedure but Knox recognized and locked everything (so the counter now is 0x1).

You can get to Odin mode with knox. Message me back and I’ll explain. You basically trick the device. Does it have removable battery?
I’ve done it on dozens of Xcover pro devices.

Hey friend
You say you can get into Odin mode with active knox?
I tried dozens of options without success, I would be happy if you explain to me what your solution is (my device without a removable battery ...)

The first recommendation did not work for me, too. After the tab reboots, it says its installing the updates but up to 32% only, then it erases, then it goes back to the same problem.
Tried your quoted solution. However, upon installing twrp, it says it cant install because of frp lock. How do i go about it? Please help....

Have you seen this thread? Bunch of people trying to access the xcover pros they paid for after working for walmart:
Cant get Walmart Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro into download mode
So I worked for Walmart for a while. They gave me this free phone. See below. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/walmart-free-smartphones-employee-schedules/ The phone was locked out by Walmart for inactivity. (See image for details) I fixed that...
