I installed Helium apk in my Mi10 and also the desktop Helium in my Laptop.I also installed Universal Drivers in the laptop provided in the Helium website. On opening Helium in my Mi10, it instructed me to connect the phone with the PC.So I connected the phone with USB code to the laptop and enabled File Transfer in the phone. Then I opened the Helium apk in the laptop. But the phone is not being detected by the desktop Helium.I also tried with Chrome extension of Helium. But no success. How can the phone get detected by the Dedktop Helium? Anybody please advise.

I checked the Samsung S3 on several occasions and could see the content of the sdcard0 (internal memory) and the removable SD card from the Windows Explorer on a desktop PC with Windows 7 using USB via the MTP protocol.
I did not download or delete anyting via USB.
I noticed both memories were a bit low on space and a few folders on the external card had files I could not understand, so I searched the Play Store for apps that would let me view details (like file and folder sizes) on the external sdcard. I used these apps to read the sdcard, but did not get any wiser.
I then obtained AirDroid from the Play Store and transferred files from S3 to the PC, but did not delete from or upload anything to the S3. AirDroid worked fine. I decided to use USB to delete S3 files a few days later. Before that I used the the PC for a couple days for reading online newspapers from Firefox, but did not do anything that should have changed the workings of the USB. There were a few Windows 7 updates (initiated at PC logoff) that progressed normally with no warnings about incompatible files etc. A few days later I noticed the USB connect to S3 had stopped working. For example I did not see the Auto-play dialog on the PC and nothing from the S3 showed in the Windows Explorer. I used the the USB data cable that came with the Samsung S3.
However, the the Windows Explorer USB connect still worked for a ZTE Blade III using the USB cable that came with the ZTE on the same PC.
Q1. how do I make Windows Explorer see the S3 again?
Q2. what may have been the cause? (can I download android apps or do something on the Windows 7 PC to help to pin-point the problem).

Install Samsung USB drivers

Thanks JJEgan,
What and from where should I download? The S3 USB connect was working for weeks. Could a faulty update from Microsoft have caused this? The S3 is not rooted.
I have downloaded from the Play Store that I assume contains well-behaved programs only, or are there play-store programs that are known to interfere with the USB by design/accident when they run. The PC Windows Explorer USB connect worked with the ZTE Blade 3 mobile after the S3 had gone wrong. If I install Samsung USB drivers is there a risk the ZTE USB connect would go wrong too/instead? I don't know what is required, so I might make the problem worse by downloading the wrong libraries or not doing it the right way.
Is there some program/app I can install on either the PC or Android that would pull in USB libraries and dependencies automatically, a bit like Synaptic package managers in Ubuntu?
I can't get Helium to fully connect my Note 3 with my PC.
I plug in the phone into the computer, start the Helium program on the computer, start the Helium app. The computer gives me a green check and says "Helium has been enabled on your Android." But the blasted circle on the phone screen keeps spinning. "Waiting for the Helium Desktop application to enable application backup on your Android," it says.
Well! The computer says it enabled it!!! NOW WHAT?
What's going on?
I've installed the USB drivers.
I've tried it with Kies and without Kies installed.
I've tried MTP mode and PTP mode.
I tried every USB port on my computer.
I restarted the computer.
I reinstalled the program and the app.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the USB drivers.
Please help me. I have to back up my phone!
Hi
Wondering how to set my new z5 in ptp mode, so i can use helium to transfer my userdata from games to new phone.
Im looking for that answer too, just bought z5c.
Hi, I just did a Helium Backup yesterday, you don't actually need the ptp connection. Go into the device manager and right click on "ADB device" (it has a yellow triangle icon on it) and reinstall driver from your pc, choosing "ADB interface". Then disconnect the device from the computer, close helium on the computer and reopen, then reconnect. The connection will establish. That was my experience, YMMV but fiddling a bit can help. I hope you succeed
The steps I did to enable PTP mode so I can use adb:
- plug the phone into the PC USD and install normal drivers
- install Helium backup app on the phone. Run Enable PTP from Helium. It will not work, but will pop an ADB unknown driver in your computers Device Manager
- Download Sony ADB drivers: http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/xperia-z5-compact-e5803-and-e5823-driver/ and then unzip
- in device manager, right click on ADB Device, Select update driver, select Search Location and point to the drivers unzipped in the step above. Make sure you include Search Subfolders. The driver will be detected and you can install it.
- In helium app, enable PTP
After this I could use ADB!
After doing this, my phone rebooted and then could not be seen by Windows. So there are no recognizable drivers for windows? Sony PC Companion re-install did not reinstate the drivers.
Anyone know how to fix?
Hello i just bought mate 10 pro and i'm trying to restore an app from the older phone, since i don't want to root (not even the older was rooted) and can't use TB i made a backup with adb. I have the .ab file on the desktop and i want to restore it on the mate, when i launch the command on desktop it say "now unlock your device and confirm the restore operation" as it should be but on the mate nothing happen, the prompt doesn't trigger. The phone is recognized by adb (phone code is displayed on adb devices), I activated dev option, debug usb , tried mtp, ptp, took off the security lockscreen..i even noticed that sometimes debug turn off by itself but i've been sure to have it unlocked during the process...any tips?
update: i tried the backup even with helium but it doesn't work either..and basically for the same reason. mate doesn't communicate properly with pc, even if the drivers are appearently ok, i also can see the mate10pro folders on desktop, both mtp and ptp seems ok. Copy and delete stuff..all fine. But when i go to helium which require ptp to communicate with pc it keep ask me to set ptp on when is ALREADY on and working fine. This nosense bull**** driving me crazy
HI
I tried to connect my phone to my laptop to transfer files. Since Hisuite seems to be the only way to do it, I installed it. But the software doesn't recognize my phone when I plug it in. I did everything which they prompted me to do including enabling debugging mode, enabling hdb authorizations and choosing the 'transfer files' option. But none of them rectified the problem. Since there is no other way to access my phone through laptop, i cant transfer files.
Please help me. Is there anything else that I should be trying? And is there any way to disable Hisuite so that I can connect my phone directly to pc without using other softwares?
Thanks in advance
Try to delete Cache and Data from HiSuite App, that did the trick on my phone.
Btw. you can also tranfer your files directly over Windows Explorer. Your device should be shown as Huawei P20 lite if you select mass storage in the usb settings.
Hi,
I had the same infuriating problem. (Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium, ASUS G73JW, Huawei P20 Pro). HiSuite working perfectly for five months, then suddenly not working, and phone not recognised by PC. Tried all other solutions, HDB, ADB, USB debugging, etc. Went to HiSuite on PC, > Menu > Settings > "Having connection problems? Click here for more options." Did that. USB driver was then reinstalled. Device now recognised. HiSuite working again. Problem solved!
