Hello guys,
Here is my problem : youtube.com/watch?v=lGRq5dkg4Ow
I tried several rom (aosp, official, hermes, french rom ...) it change nothing, I really believe that It don't come from a rom but from hardware or bios (?).
It's 65€ to send it back to China so I'll not do it (they are going to refund me 26€).
What should I do ? Someone had this problems ? Can I contact a phone repairer or can I fix it myself ?
Should I try to sell it ?
I need your help guys
Nobody with info or help/link/having the same issue ?
Attempt to calibrate the proximity sensor and light sensor ... maybe help...
Hello !
I tried to access the proximity sensor test from the "CIT(?)" by pressing multiple time on "Kernel version "(about phone->kernel) but nothing opened (it's telling me "Launching cit" but nothing happened) ... the menu opened on the phone of my brother tho.

Why there's no lockscreen when you wake up? Does the screen light up when shows black(try to verify in dark room)?
When you reboot the device does the MI logo appear after the vibration or it delays like when waking up from standby?
i have this prob too, but only in miui 7 beta (5.9.xx)..
its gone when im using fasboot installation for installing miui 7 stable..

I disabled the lockscreen because it was a nightmare to unlock it with the lockscreen on (going to sleep before i could use the phone...)

The luminosity change if i'm in the dark or in the light, look like the sensor is working.

Are you sure it was the same ? I tried already a stable version... hum
I tried with my girlfriend if she could call me and if I could answer it.
I tried with a bluetooth headphone (there is a button on it to answer call so I don't need to push the button on the screen).
As soon as I hear ring, I push the button, for me it stop ringing but my girlfriend have to wait for my screen to show up for the call to work properly. (If my screen si black, it's still ringing for her)

Try flashing firmware with sp flashtool. This will update not only kernel and system, but preloader and bootloader too. Good luck!
CAUTION!! DO NOT USE FORMAT OPTION!! YOU WILL ERASE NVRAM AND YOUR IMEI WILL BE PERMANENTLY LOST!!

Is is the same ?
Edit : When the phone is Off and I check the battery level (when it'is plugged on my computer) it's doing a similar problem, when I push the power button it show the % of battery but if I don't wait (like 15 seconds) between 2 "request" it's going to delay my "request".

this is fastboot method, not SP Flash Tool Download method.
I'll try to explain fast.
Download latest version of SP flash tool > Google search It
Install mediatek VCOM drivers to your Windows PC, if on Linux there's no need of driver. See this tutorial. For the redmi note 2 on step 4 you have to do it without the battery. The whole flash procedure is performed with removed battery.
After a successful driver installation proceed with loading the firmware in SP Flash Tool. Download the latest global stable rom, fastboot format -arround 1GB. Extract the folder that contains The MT6795-Android-scatter file, boot.img, recovery.img, system.img, etc.
Disconnect your device and remove It's battery.
In SPFT Browse for mt6795androidscatter and all the partition should load automatically in the listbox bellow. On combo box download mode choose Firmware upgrade and hit the big Download button.
Now connect your device with battery removed. and all should go smooth.
I did It on Linux, because I don't really use Windows.
Feel free to ask further questions, will answer asap.
Choosing to do this is dangerous but this is the only method that flashes preloader and dsp and uboot parts. Take your own responsibility on this!
Bye!

Well, in this case It's either from the LCD or the PCB of the device not sure how to verify right now.. Do You have another one, i mean device or at least spare LCD screen?
Best option here is to return for service.
I have Touchscreen issue on my hermes and I won't send it back because I don't want to wait another 2 months, I'll fix it on my own. The screen costs me ~28USD, so I'll go with It.
What I fear is that in Your case might be a faulty PCB. That means even if you replace the LCD the problem may remain.
Yeah I don't know...
Juste noticed the flash/light don't work either...
mmmh.
Here. Link for 7.0.8.0 global ROM for SPFT, just in case.
Hi,
I tried to download this ROM, if I need someday.
But it asking for the key to encrypt.
Can you give me the key?
Thanks

Sorry! Link updated.
I bricked my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 (YTS-X50F) this morning.
Trying to flash as ROM to get an update. it said it worked fine, rebooted and well ... I'm here aren't I.
Here is the thing, its somewhere between a soft brick and a hard brick.
If I try to power it down (or force it to turn off) I can hear it go through the motions. It plays the super obnoxious, deafeningly loud start up sound and vibrates. But the screen isn't readable. In some light you can kind of sorta make out the lenovo logo.
At one point I let it go through the motions, I could tell when I tried to swipe to unlock it worked (it vibrated when I did it from the wrong side and chimed when I did it right). I could kinda sort of make out stuff on the screen. but it wasn't in English. It was all as if someone had the screen brightness all the way down.
I know if I press and hold power and Vol+ it should go into Recovery and I could reset to factory etc. I just can't see that screen to do that!
Are there any kind of tools to force that from my computer? If I plug it into my computer and its on, my laptop recognizes its there.
I know I posted in the Lenovo forums, but I wanted to post here in a more general area in case other Android experts have ideas.

For lenovo no recovery needed to fix using pc. Actually while flashing you don't even have to power on your device.

Hate to pester you but I've been searching on this all day with no luck. I've got Stock frimware downloaded (zip file) and extracted. Yet I can not seem to locate the scatter file required to use the SP Flash tools. Most sites say "includes scatter file" yet no zip file seems to have it included (yes I've tried it more than one place).

Dear Redmi Note 3 experts,
I have totally hard bricked my Redmi Note 3 trying to unlock unofficially. No hardware damage, only hard brick.
I was wondering if it is possible to bring it back to life by changing it's motherboard.
Is there a recommended place online to buy a mother board or a service center I can ship this to replace the mother board?
Does this even make any sense? or is it even possible?
Appreciate any guidance
Use test point mathod it will be back in life easily. Tested myself

If you're unable to boot to fastboot and edl or the pc shows 9008E, get the deep flash cable from Alixpress. It's cheap and easiest way to recover your phone. This cable works fine.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New...rts-all-BL-locks-Engineering/32785943419.html
Or you can make the cable yourself with some Youtube tutorials posted above.
I can see 9008E. So I just bought a deep flash cable and was able to flash global stable rom with success message.
When I pressed power button, nothing happened.
When I pressed -vol+power, nothing.
when I pressed +vol+power, nothing.
Then I pressed -vol +vol +power together and the screen showed mi logo and android logo at the bottom. Attached picture. It's been like this for 30mins already. It doesn't seem to finish booting. Should I wait?

Wait a bit more and if nothing happens try rebooting to fastboot.
If fastboot is accessible try flashing the latest dev rom.

Did you flash all partition including storage? If I remember correctly, this shouldn't take more than 10-15 mins to boot up or even less. If it's still stuck, you should select 'flash all including storage' in Mi flash.
Or
Since your phone can boot into fastboot now, I would suggest to unlock it unofficially and flash zcx twrp recovery and than flash the rom through recovery after formatting all data.
Device booted after flashing Chinese developer rom. However, another issue seems to have sprouted from this.
There is a prompt saying "Cant Get Valid Device ID"

You lost your IMEI and Modem. Try this -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/flash-recover-efs-snapdragon-t3406789
My phone box has only one IMEI code. I was able to restore that imei to the sim 2 slot. sim 1 slot has some unknown imei1.
However, after much effort flashing many roms trying many methods for efs/imei restore, i was not able to get the sim cards working. none of the sim slots work.
Does the "Radio: OFF" status mean it's being kept forcibly off by the system. i looked for an option to turn it on with no success...

I have also lost IMEI, sent to service and motherboard was changed with IMEI. The problem is the new motherboard, which keeps rebooting, suddenly and randomly. When starts to reboot, it never stops and keeps rebooting on Mi logo - never get to loading MIUI. Even if I flash the MIUI (global) again through EDL, same thing happens. After some time, it will revive again by itself and starts booting. My fault is I didn't backup nvram with the build came from service, but with global stable after I have updated.
It sounds as a hardware issue, or it could be resolved by some software flashing/modification?
@Yogendra Kher Do you have any issues with new motherboard?

If you have an SD Card installed, try removing the SD card and then booting the phone.
If that works... then I bet you have a Samsung 128GB MicroSD card???? (if not, maybe another brand 128GB card?)
It seems that there is something in the 7.1.1 boot sequence for the Moto Z's that is hanging during the mount of the SD Card when it is a Samsung 128GB card. Removal of the SD allows a successful boot up.
Once boot up is complete, you should be able to insert the SD card (without rebooting the phone) and the phone will see the SD card and the "missing SD" notification will go away and the phone will function as it always has. It seems that unless Motorola/Lenovo release a patch for this issue, that your only options are 1) remove SD during every reboot, or 2) purchase a different SD card (Motorola seems to recommend SanDisk).
No there is no SD card. The phone is stuck on bootloader.
I had the same issue, stuck on bootloader and error saying recovery could not be read. I rebooted a few times and it eventually went away. Problem is that now my phone acts REALLY weird. And the Software Assistant does NOTHING to help out. It doesn't detect the phone in regular mode and in fastboot, it says everything is fine and doesn't let me restore.
I have a feeling the OTA had a problem installing and a clean slate is the only way to fix it. The only issue is that I can't find a copy of an XT1560-02 ROM anywhere, only other variants.
I had the same issue after update. Recovery could not be validated. I removed the SD card and boom perfect boot. I just hope the issue gets patched soon, would hate to have to carry that Lil key around for if I need a reboot to remove SD card before boot
Same issue. But instead of removing sd card. Just go into recovery mode and wipe cache.
Works
This helped me. If you can fastboot, this may solve your problem:

you don't need to root or install TWRP if you don't want to.

Maybe you could provide more information. Have you been on Stock 7.1.1 and tried to unlock your bootloader without allowing Oem Unlocking in developer options? What is the current state of your device, means are you able to get into recovery mode?
7.1.1 Original Stock - Not Allowed OEM Unlocking
Everything was great, but a week ago the cellphone it restarted itself, and never back: It's stuck in bootloop.
I get it with Android 6.0, and i was upgrading via Ota until 1th July, which that means it's 7.1.1 Rom Stock
Cause i wanted have my cellphone pure, i didnt touch anything(I didn't want loose my warranty), so i'm never check to allow "oem unlocking"
Now, warranty doesn't help me because i bought it in Italia, and im living in Argentina now, and they said taht they have Local Warranty.
So, i tried to solved it by my self... I did it with my old phones but they were cheap, so i think is it that why i never have ear about Reset Software Factory Protection.
Brief:
Original Stock 7.1.1
Yes, i tried unlock BL without Allow OEM Unlocking
Yes, i can get in BootLoader and in fastboot without problem
Thank You very much
Maybe a factory reset might help. Switch off your phone. By holding the power button and the volume down button you get into bootloader mode. Tap volume up until you see recovery. Press power to confirm. (If you see the little green android, hold the power button for 2 sec and then press volume up) In the recovery menue select factory reset, if you choose with data wipe, be aware that you'll lose all your data. After that reboot your system. Hopefully it will boot up and you can set it up from scratch.
I did it.

1. What happens, if pull out the ext sd-card and then reboot?
2. Which version of stock rom did you download?
3. Download and install RSD-lite on your pc

Start RSD-lite on your pc.
Then put your device in bootloader mode and connect it to your pc. Does RSD-lite show, that your device is connected?

2. Which version of stock rom did you download?
3. Download and install RSD-lite on your pc
http://lenovo-forums.ru/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=66115
Start RSD-lite on your pc.
Then put your device in bootloader mode and connect it to your pc. Does RSD-lite show, that your device is connected?

That's good. (Sorry for the late reply, it was late and i fell asleep).
As i understood you purchased the device in italy and now you live permantly in argentina. Where did you take the 7.1.1 OTA, in Italy or in Argentina?
With the help of RSD we could try to restore your firmware. Not sure if it works for you in Argentina.
1. Download the NPL25...RETBR stockfirmware from here on your pc https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/griffin/official/RETBR/
2. Extract the zip and search for this file: flashall.xml and remember where to find it.
3. Run RSD on your pc
4. Reinsert your simcard (not the sdcard). Put your moto z into bootloader mode and connect it with your pc. Wait until it gets recognized.
4. Click the three little dots in RSD (left beneath the start button). Now search the flashall.xml file and double click. It will be added to the command field.
5. Click start.
RSD should now flash the firmware onto your device. This takes about 10 minutes. Wait untill your moto reboots completely and you get a PASS notification in RSD.
Hope it works. If not, we have to try plan B.
@acalapone i have edited my post above

Sorry, i was quite busy...
I bought three: One to my girlfriend, one to my brother(Both are working perfect, like a charm ¬¬) and the cursed one to me, of course!!
Well, when i read "RETBR" i remember that mine cellphone said "RETEU"(or something like that) in settings, so i have checked in my girlfriend's phone, and yeah, they are RETEU and, in the link that you have shared with me, i found one that said that.
I have downloaded both of them, just in case.
Now i'm have try with RETBR, and it didn't work
Now im going to try "RETEU", and, you know, i'm feeling lucky!
Let's cross our fingers
---------- Post added at 12:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:02 AM ----------
Ok, no... It didn't work too.... X-(

Yeah, i know... It's 6.0.1 ...

There is still no RETEU 7.0 available, thats why you have to flash the RETBR.
Try again to flash the RETBR NPL25..firmware with RSD. If you'll get the same failed error message, here is
PLAN B:
Copy the flashall.xml file and rename it to flashallcopy.xml.
Open the copied file with a text editor and delete the 2 lines with "gpt" and "bootloader" in it. Save it and close the copy. With this the RSD program will skip those two commands. Click the 3 dots and add the flashallcopy.xml file to RSD. Click Start.
If that doesn't work, we have to run Plan C
Good luck
When i press volume up and power key instead of going into recovery Mi A3 got formatted is it a bug or what ?

I think that the correct is the volume down…
Power + volume up should boot into system recovery ("no command" displayed). I haven't tried it and now I'm afraid to as the phone is already set up ? If it wipes without confirmation, it's definitely a bug.
It's also happened with me
Sapper Morton said:
Usually it wipes when you try to change slot to an old firmware version, it can be avoided, as explained by Typhus in other threads; however I never seen a factory reset obligation while completely stock, we need more info to be sure. As of now, I can access stock recovery as usual.

Phone should ask you if you want to wipe data after 3(5?) unsuccessful boot attempts (corrupted data or trying to boot old incompatible rom in second slot). At least this was the case on Mi A1. I'll try the behavior when I get another A3 phone.

It happened to me on A1 when I booted Oreo system after update to Pie. I forgot to turn off Oreo Substratum overlays before updating the phone. After the update, I was getting constant SystemUI crash, so thought that I'll fix it by booting Oreo slot and uninstall the overlays. Well, it didn't go well.. after a few failed boot attempts (Oreo and then also Pie) system asked me if I want to perform full data wipe to recover the phone, which I did [emoji846]
So maybe similar approach by booting previous Android version might be tried once this phone gets Android 10 update..?
Yeah! Bro ,
(Same pinch) - same thing happened with me also when I tried to boot my phone into recovery mode
It directly formatted unknowingly and
no options were displayed onto the screen
It directly got formatted without giving any warnings
A animated circel logo & A message apeared on my screen
:- Erasing...
And that's it , I got very much scared
But what is the use of being afraid now, what was to happen has happened

But I have not unlocked my Phone's bootloader & I have not installed any third party Rom to my smartphone,
It is a normal handset without any interference of mine,
Overall I have not performed any type of "advance action" in my Mi A3.
