Hello all,
Hope all is well with everyone.
My phone decided to freeze on me and gave it a force reboot since then it's stuck on the boot logo. I can't turn it off unless the battery is drained and I can't turn it on (via power button), unless booting in Download Mode.
Now, download mode is the mode my phone can boot in and I know that I have to re-flash the stock-rom on my phone in order for it to work.
I gave that a try but a message on my phone pops up after having initiated the flash in Odin saying: ''SW REV, CHECK FAIL, DEVICE 3, BINARY 2'' and if I try a different PDA it reads: SECURITY CHECK: BOOTLOADER
Since this plan didn't work, I tried flashing a TWRP recovery on my phone. But after having tried that a message on my phone pops up proudly saying: ''Blocked by FRP Lock'' - which I found out I can only disable once I have full access to the settings on my phone - which requires a successful boot.
It's quite frustrating because I never had a problem with my phone and this issue occurred right after I updated my phone with the latest security update that Samsung pushed to my device.
Can somebody help me please?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you. However I already tried that one. After multiple attempts, the phone remains stuck on the ''Galaxy S6 Edge+'' screen and won't continue.
I already had the feeling that this may be a hardware malfunction.
I bricked my phone and tried recovering it via Smart Switch - as a last resort - SW successfully installed the stock firmware on my phone but whilst rebooting, it remains stuck on the ''Galaxy S6 Edge+'' screen.
I think my phone is officially dead and that after the new update? Crazy if you think about it.

It isn't bricked otherwise it wouldn't even get to the Samsung logo mate.

Before you give up try this BTU firmware. It is generally good at fixing this.

I was able to see the logo before I bricked it.
Whilst the phone was bricked, the logo was not visible but a turquoise screen with an exclamation logo informing me the instructions to recover the phone via Smart Switch.
I will give the BTU firmware a try. Thank you.

The turquoise screen and exclamation mark isn't brick either so don't worry about that.

Still won't work - It remains stuck on the Galaxy s6 edge + logo after flashing.
Download mode is the only feature that I'm able to access - Recovery mode or booting up the OS? Not a chance.
Rooting and/ or flashing new recovery gets blocked by FRP Lock and Bootloader.
I have seriously no idea what to do now.

You have G928F = that means your bootloader is unlocked by default.
Search on here there are ways to remove the frp lock easily.
Have you tried any other firmware?

I know that, I've noted that down in my first post on this thread. The thing is however is that I DON'T have access to my OS - which ultimately makes me unable to disable FRP lock.
By trying another firmware I get the Sw rev, check fail, device 3, binary 2
- Trying the Europe firmware - whether it is BTU (UK) or PHN (Netherlands) - the flashing WORKS but it won't boot up past the Logo screen - it remains stuck.
The only feature if have access to and works perfectly is the download mode.

Sw rev, check fail, device 3, binary 2. This isnt really an error message and shouldnt affect anything. When you flash the BTU or PHN firmware and it gets stuck on logo screen... how long are you leaving it like that? I ask because the first boot can take a while.
You can always try the DDE firmware from sam mobile. You may also neet a pit file with it too.

The longest is +30 minutes - it remained stuck untill the battery was drained.
I will try the DDE firmware but do you think that will work? I was able to manually flash my device via Samsung Smart Switch and that resulted in the same issue.

Is it stuck on the "powered by android screen" or the next screen the "samsung" logo?
Thats strange because if all else fails smart switch would normally fix it.
I have been talking to 2 people over the past week who have the same issue but on just s6 edge not the plus.

It's stuck on the ''Powered by Android'' logo.
This same issue reminded me of my Galaxy s2 back in the day - same with my current Edge+ - it stuttered, froze, rebooted itself a couple of times and it completely died. Couldn't do anything anymore.
These same symptoms happened with my Edge+ recently, but I can access download mode and it restarts but remains stuck on the logo screen.

I have the G928F and I also had the "custom binary blocked by frp lock" in red, which didn't allow me to boot. To fix this, I had flashed the newest stock Rom I could, and this had fixed my issue. But just yesterday I decided to unroot via the SU app, and it had asked me to restore stock boot image and recovery image. I did this but it had left me in a boot loop. I could enter recovery mode and download mode too. So I tried a factory reset. No help. Now instead of looping it would take me straight to recovery. Like every person at this point would've done, I tried to flash stock Rom, but I keep getting the "sw rev check fail" error. So I 're rooted the phone via odin and voila! I was back up and running and my phone works perfectly fine. You could try this, I know I'm a year late but oh well. Hope this helps!

Hi,
Just wondered how you manage to 're root the phone if FRP lock is on?
When I've tried, the FRP has blocked the custom rom. I've tried downgrading and current stock versions of android but not had any luck. I'm able to flash everything except the BL, no matter what version.
I've been trying all kinds of ideas on here for days now so any suggestions would be welcome.

Ahh if you're flashing current that's why. You need to flash the newest version of Android there is. The latest for the G928F was in February. Flash that and see if you have any errors.

I have a G935F but the process is much the same I guess. I have tried the latest stock rom but still can't get the bootloader on there. Once the bootloader is on there I think I'll be home free but at this point I've tried practically everything I've come across.

Hi gang!
I have a Moto E 2nd Generation here that was having some issues, browser crashing, slow downs, overheating issues due to multiple apps running, etc. So I decided to log into TWRP and attempt to do a factory reset. After this factory reset was done now I attempt to log into fastboot, which gives me the options of start, restart, factory, etc. I am just receiving a boot loop and nothing more. The steps to get this corrected is a bit jumbled and confusing, I must admit. I have installed ADB on my computer in hopes that this will be straightforward. I have downloaded some system images which I thought would help the process, negative. So if someone could help me this would be greatly appreciated.

Heyo John!
I can try to help since I have managed to overcome my bootloop issue and flash a custom ROM into my phone. Could I ask, are you trying to also install a custom ROM? And what version of TWRP do you have?
I had the bootloop issue because of an outdated TWRP and had to flash the latest one, which thankfully worked!
Let me know! ^_^

Hello testerexp345,
Thank you for the reply and the assistance, I am not sure if TWRP is installed anymore as I can't get passed the bootscreen on the phone. I hold down the volume down and power button to get the options of factory reset, shut down, restart, etc. However all these options lead back to the boot screen looping over. The ROM that I had installed on the phone was from an online seller that paired the phone with a SIM card that allowed unlimited data service, which was great for my business since I am out much of the week traveling. Any insight would help, as when it comes to flashing devices and cell phones... let's just say I am a newbie still

If you have an SD Card installed, try removing the SD card and then booting the phone.
If that works... then I bet you have a Samsung 128GB MicroSD card???? (if not, maybe another brand 128GB card?)
It seems that there is something in the 7.1.1 boot sequence for the Moto Z's that is hanging during the mount of the SD Card when it is a Samsung 128GB card. Removal of the SD allows a successful boot up.
Once boot up is complete, you should be able to insert the SD card (without rebooting the phone) and the phone will see the SD card and the "missing SD" notification will go away and the phone will function as it always has. It seems that unless Motorola/Lenovo release a patch for this issue, that your only options are 1) remove SD during every reboot, or 2) purchase a different SD card (Motorola seems to recommend SanDisk).
No there is no SD card. The phone is stuck on bootloader.
I had the same issue, stuck on bootloader and error saying recovery could not be read. I rebooted a few times and it eventually went away. Problem is that now my phone acts REALLY weird. And the Software Assistant does NOTHING to help out. It doesn't detect the phone in regular mode and in fastboot, it says everything is fine and doesn't let me restore.
I have a feeling the OTA had a problem installing and a clean slate is the only way to fix it. The only issue is that I can't find a copy of an XT1560-02 ROM anywhere, only other variants.
I had the same issue after update. Recovery could not be validated. I removed the SD card and boom perfect boot. I just hope the issue gets patched soon, would hate to have to carry that Lil key around for if I need a reboot to remove SD card before boot
Same issue. But instead of removing sd card. Just go into recovery mode and wipe cache.
Works
This helped me. If you can fastboot, this may solve your problem:

you don't need to root or install TWRP if you don't want to.

Maybe you could provide more information. Have you been on Stock 7.1.1 and tried to unlock your bootloader without allowing Oem Unlocking in developer options? What is the current state of your device, means are you able to get into recovery mode?
7.1.1 Original Stock - Not Allowed OEM Unlocking
Everything was great, but a week ago the cellphone it restarted itself, and never back: It's stuck in bootloop.
I get it with Android 6.0, and i was upgrading via Ota until 1th July, which that means it's 7.1.1 Rom Stock
Cause i wanted have my cellphone pure, i didnt touch anything(I didn't want loose my warranty), so i'm never check to allow "oem unlocking"
Now, warranty doesn't help me because i bought it in Italia, and im living in Argentina now, and they said taht they have Local Warranty.
So, i tried to solved it by my self... I did it with my old phones but they were cheap, so i think is it that why i never have ear about Reset Software Factory Protection.
Brief:
Original Stock 7.1.1
Yes, i tried unlock BL without Allow OEM Unlocking
Yes, i can get in BootLoader and in fastboot without problem
Thank You very much
Maybe a factory reset might help. Switch off your phone. By holding the power button and the volume down button you get into bootloader mode. Tap volume up until you see recovery. Press power to confirm. (If you see the little green android, hold the power button for 2 sec and then press volume up) In the recovery menue select factory reset, if you choose with data wipe, be aware that you'll lose all your data. After that reboot your system. Hopefully it will boot up and you can set it up from scratch.
I did it.

That's good. (Sorry for the late reply, it was late and i fell asleep).
As i understood you purchased the device in italy and now you live permantly in argentina. Where did you take the 7.1.1 OTA, in Italy or in Argentina?
With the help of RSD we could try to restore your firmware. Not sure if it works for you in Argentina.
1. Download the NPL25...RETBR stockfirmware from here on your pc https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/griffin/official/RETBR/
2. Extract the zip and search for this file: flashall.xml and remember where to find it.
3. Run RSD on your pc
4. Reinsert your simcard (not the sdcard). Put your moto z into bootloader mode and connect it with your pc. Wait until it gets recognized.
4. Click the three little dots in RSD (left beneath the start button). Now search the flashall.xml file and double click. It will be added to the command field.
5. Click start.
RSD should now flash the firmware onto your device. This takes about 10 minutes. Wait untill your moto reboots completely and you get a PASS notification in RSD.
Hope it works. If not, we have to try plan B.
@acalapone i have edited my post above

Sorry, i was quite busy...
I bought three: One to my girlfriend, one to my brother(Both are working perfect, like a charm ¬¬) and the cursed one to me, of course!!
Well, when i read "RETBR" i remember that mine cellphone said "RETEU"(or something like that) in settings, so i have checked in my girlfriend's phone, and yeah, they are RETEU and, in the link that you have shared with me, i found one that said that.
I have downloaded both of them, just in case.
Now i'm have try with RETBR, and it didn't work
Now im going to try "RETEU", and, you know, i'm feeling lucky!
Let's cross our fingers

Yeah, i know... It's 6.0.1 ...

There is still no RETEU 7.0 available, thats why you have to flash the RETBR.
Try again to flash the RETBR NPL25..firmware with RSD. If you'll get the same failed error message, here is
PLAN B:
Copy the flashall.xml file and rename it to flashallcopy.xml.
Open the copied file with a text editor and delete the 2 lines with "gpt" and "bootloader" in it. Save it and close the copy. With this the RSD program will skip those two commands. Click the 3 dots and add the flashallcopy.xml file to RSD. Click Start.
If that doesn't work, we have to run Plan C
Good luck
Hello ,
My friend has issue with his huawei p20 lite (ANE LX1).
He poked needle in earphones connector and his screen went black.
When the phone is booted to the android os, I can see for a split second (less than 5ms) screen on what is it, which is impossible to naviage since i have to press power button multiple times to show once.
But the Fastboot&Rescue mode as well as download mode works fine.
Soo How can i flash rom+firmware on it, since mostly what I find on google is "Exit from Rescure&Fasboot mode

Hi,
IMO the best solution is searching for the Service rom on https://androidhost.ru/ (type ANE- or ANNE- , the correct FW depends on the current version of Android and your region - Cxxx), and doing the dload method from SD card. Process will erase all the data from your device !
Before you do anything, read carefully Software Upgrade Guidline in "ReleaseDoc" . With Service ROM you will get full stock with locked bootloader.
Funky enough will download tomorrow, since my network speed is crap.
Another thing while holding vol+ with vol- and power button it gives me in ADB recovery, since i cannot see the screen i dont know what it shows.
Also to mention I've pulled from fastboot all info
product model ANE-LX1
build ANE-LX1 9.1.0.306
hw/eu
And the Cxxx is matching except the last 2 T8 for example.
I think I've found culprit. Seems like the backlight is dead for some apparent reason or totally turned down, not even In dark i can see the screen, except on the lock screen where i see the warning the phone has been recently turned off then on input password.
But why is then working absolutley fine in fastboot&rescue mode?
If you do not belive me ill upload pictures.

I believe you , but if it's HW problem (damaged motherboard, short circuit etc.), I can't help you anymore. Have you tried dload method with Service ROM?
I have my Huawei p20 lite ANE-LX2 stuck on logo, bootloader is lock at the same time. Can i perform DLOAD method through system Recovery? to flash stock firmware? thanks

I have no idea what happened. The last thing I remember was changing theme of my phone. Then it asked me to restart to apply new font. When i did, it got stuck on logo.

No its in warranty. I don't know about the bootloader
If your phone is under warranty then go to nearest service center. Maybe your phone going for EDL mode to install again rom for your phone

You have no choice
In reality its better to be unlock bootloader than lock because whatever happens in ypur phone you can easily flash by mi flash tool. So you dont have to worry when youre phone goes something wrong. It cant detect youre phone when it fastboot because ypur phone not actually unlock the bootloader.

Can i unlock the bootloader now?
The path to data preservation could take two approaches. The first is an authorized service that would guarantee to restore the system with data preservation. An untested second path would be to achieve booting the phone in EDL mode and using MiFlash with the "save user data" option to load the corresponding latest Miui.
Unlocking the bootloader erases the data.

What are you talking about, there's a difference between software and hardware. This topic is software related. LMAO
