Hey guys just posting here about this amlogic s905y2 powered stick I've came across on another forum.
After modding some firestick 4k and 2nd gen tanks I wish I'd came across these sooner lol
Check it out :

If the 2gb 16gb is not enough for you there is also a 4gb 32gb model coming soon with the same android 9 etc.
Rumoured to be running rings round Amazon's firestick (both tank and 4k)
Lets hope some development comes its way to spice it up a little bit:good:

Good day everyone,
I'm stuck in a predicament and looking for some assistance into taking a decision.
- I want to buy my wife a 7" Tablet, she will use it for reading on the train and such but also internet browsing at home and media use.
- screen has to be good, now my issue is that there's so many out there and I have a limited budget, max 300$.
- With so many tablets out it's getting harder and harder to chose, (A100, A1, B&T Tablet, Kindle Fire, Galaxy Tab 7+
now I've been reading a lot about them and they're all good choices, but there's a always a little something that keeps me from choosing a clear winner.
Also to note I'm looking for a tablet that can offer the full android experience (market, launchers), I've included Kindle fire and Nook Tablet because I'm looking at the possibility of flashing roms on them unlock their full potential.
Preferred Specs:
RAM: 1GB RAM
Storage: At least 16GB otherwise uSD slot
Processor: Dual-Core
OS: Eventually support ICS with HA, the thing about HA is that apparently Nook Tablet might not support it because the kernel ver. is too low and doesn't support HA. I don't know if that's a software issue or hardware limitation.
The only one that doesn't fit the profile is the Galaxy Tab as it's 400$, otherwise i'd be the number 1 choice hands down, this thread wouldn't exist if that was the case.
A100: Issues are mainly battery life, not much Dev, support. (Official ICS dunno about HA)
Kindle Fire: 8GB storage, no expansion, ROMS TBD
Nook Tablet: Locked Bootloader, ROMS TBD (Older Kernel, no HA for ICS TBD)
Lenovo A1: Low RAM, Old processor (thinking ICS w/ HA)
Any1 can shed some additional info that can help assist me into finally picking the right tab.
Thank you in advance
Rodi

bump for new section
I always narrow down to low priced tablets, which leave you with the Kindle Fire and the Nook Tablet. The Kindle Fire is, for some bloody reason, powered by Froyo so I kill that and suggest the Nook Tab.
I'd suggest to take the Vizio Vtab1008 into account, it has only a single core CPU 1ghz 512mb ram and is 8'' but its a very nice device with a good display and it costs ~200$ only
And it sports a nice it blaster to use it as a nice universal remote for home entertainment...
Hey which is the best Android Tablet with ICS 4 in the price category 200-300 dollar ? I am not a developer and I would like to get a working tablet device for about 200 to 300 dollar. Can anyone give me some advices or links where I can find test about such tablets ??
Are you looking at something with community and dev support or just something that ships with ICS? The Kindle Fire is very popular $200 tablet and has quite a bit of dev support, but ships with a heavily skinned version of GB. There is unofficial ICS ROMs out there.
hmmm something that ships with ICS would be better because ICS 4 for kindle fire isn't ready for daily use like HW Acceleration and it is not working stable... I read...
I'm pretty happy with my Archos 80 G9 (4GB storage, 512MB RAM, dual-core 1GHz processor) so far. It came with Honeycomb but the ICS update was released less than a week after I bought it, and a rooted ICS ROM is already available. $219 at Staples.

64GB ASUS C301SA NOW ON PRE-SALE
There has been a lot of talk about storage in the Chromebook community as of late. The announcement of Asus’ upcoming Chromebook C301SA was the answer to many users call for more local storage.
Our friend, +Brent Sullivan, reported earlier today that the 64GB Asus Chromebook is now available for pre-sale at Adorama for $299.99.
The new, 13.3″ Chromebook is equipped with 4GB of ram, 64GB of eMMC storage and is powered by an Intel Celeron N3160 processor. The Asus also includes a 1080p screen.
The Asus C301SA is also on the list of devices that will be receiving the Play Store some time in the coming weeks when Chrome OS 53 lands on the stable channel.
We hope this will be a nudge to other OEM’s that an affordable device with a decent amount of storage and the internals to handle Android Apps is definitely a market that is ripe.
We look forward to getting our hands on the new Asus and taking it for a test drive. Stay tuned for more to come. Don’t forget to subscribe and stay up-to-date on All Things Chrome.
It has finally arrived. A good affordable Chromebook with bigger storage.

Found a cheap Chinese tablet with an octa-core processor model number mt6592t. The advertisement on new frog said it had Android 7.0 on it. When it came in it actually has Android 4.4 version 7.0. I am a little upset to say the least. However, if any of you developers are interested in this tablet I'm may keep it around. Not sure but I feel it has potential. It has an unlocked bootloader , dual SIM card slots, and 64g storage.
Good Afternoon
I have at home waiting for me a new Chromebook , since ordering it i have been at odds with myself over the spec , my main concern being the processor - Celeron N3060 i believe.
I have used windows for years and have also used tablets since i got my hands on a galaxy tab back in the day .. but Chromebooks are completely new to me.
I am just after watching some NOW TV , amazon prime , Netflix together with the odd playstore game. I can only find a review on this model from youtube for the same chap so a bit one sided.
Will i be pulling my hair out with the performance ? the processor is pretty much bottom of the charts from what i can see. I know Chrome OS is supposed to be very light ... i have a fairly decent PC and recently sold my galaxytab S3 so used to fairly good performance.
The rest of the spec looks Ok , 64 emmc , 4 GB Ram , not fussed about having a full HD screen and it mimics my old lenovo yoga laptop in terms of tent mode etc.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Congrats and welcome aboard! I have a Acer book and luv Chrome os! My Microsoft notebook is permanently retired. Your going to like it...
