Like the title says, my usb can't transfer files to the pc anymore, even if conect it into fastboot or adb.
Tried everything like use other type-c usb cables, tried on an other pc, change the background settings to hisuite or any option, changed the charging port (also changed the pcb charging port) but I don't have any luck to get it work.
Is there a possible way to fix it?
Btw I have the bootloader unlocked and flashed magisk v20 to recovery and I can't update it or even a factory reset
(sorry for my terrible english)

How to boot into patched Recovery :
- Restart your phone, when appears the yellow warning on the screen, press and hold Volume Up for ~ 2 sec,
release the button and immediately press and hold again for ~ 2 sec. Repeat it 6-7 times, the device will reboot into Stock Recovery (you can perform Wipe cache or Factory reset).

Title says it all, the screen doesn't turn off automatically and I can't even turn it off with the power button, this the screen is constantly on all the time and thus the battery gets drained super quickly.
The is starting to be a big problem, anyone know what it might be?
Backup data then factory reset .

did you try to update your device?
Yeah, no luck. No update available, currently running 2.3.5.
Also the phone reboots over and over again randomly..
Backup all important data etc to PC.
Hard reset Phone Dialer : *2767*3855# This will format everything
Boot into CWM Recovery (pull battery if you have to, from power off; volume up + home + power on) and clear cache & dalvik (just to be sure).
Reflash ROM
If you are running official stock, hard reset and flash ROM from here with Odin

Why cant I use KIES to update the firmware since the phone is unrooted?
Also whenever I connect the phone to the computer VIA USB, it only charges the phone. When I put the phone to Debug mode, and USB Utilites and press "Connect storage to PC" nothing happens, the phone doesn't appear on the computer and KIES doesn't notice the phone.

Sounds like USB drivers missing .
jje
Odin is more stable than KIES, and easier to use.
What you could try is uninstall KIES and Samsung USB drivers. You'll find those in programs. Next download the newest version of KIES from the Samsung site. Reinstall. Then reconnect.

Update 16.1
- I flashed the phone to the newest ROM and firmware and here's how the phone is working right now.
- Screen: Still doesn't turn off!
- "MTP Connected": USB connected comes in and out every 15 seconds, making the phone unusable.
- Media scanning run: every 30 seconds or so.
- Samsung Disclaimer pops up frequently requesting me to accept "Vlingo Terms of Services" although I've never opened it.
It seems like something is wrong woth HW
I am sure something is wrong with the wake/power button on your phone

It seems there's something wrong with the micro USB port on your phone. There could be dust or some of the pins might be damaged.
try different usb port or reinstall kies
Have you exposed your Galaxy S II to humid environment such as your bathroom while taking a shower? Or have you used your phone in the rain? I've heard of people having similar issues with their phones like screen repeatedly turning off and on or false detection of chargers connected. If this is the case the water may be shorting some of the pins inside the micro USB port and causing the issues.
Hi. Is it possible to get data (like videos and photos) from the phone in Boot Loop before "repairing" it? If so, how to do it please?
Yeah, it's definitely possible. Can you still enter download mode (start your device while pressing Vol Down, Home and Power-button)? Then:
You could just root your device with cf-Root for example. Just search for cf-Root, there should be an explanation how to flash it with Odin. Once you've done that, you can enter Clockwordmod Recovery (Start your device with Vol UP, Home and power button), then Storage -> Mount USB-Storage and connect it with a USB-cable. Voilà you can access your data.
If you have CWM recovery, boot to recovery and use adb to copy your files to a PC or to a microSD card.
I can get to download mode, but Odin doesnt recognize my phone. I tried another (the same SGII) phone in "normal working" (not in "download") mode and it recognized it immediately. What does it mean? Is something wrong with the phone?
The phone is not rooted.
So there's no yellow box with "COM" in it when you connect your phone in Download mode? mhh
maybe you could try another usb port? Especially if it's an USB hub or something like that!
Do you have KIES installed for the USB drivers? And if you have, make sure that KIES isnt active while using Odin (check task manager for KIES-related task and kill them).
No, there isnt any yellow box with "COM" there. I tried without Kies installed in PC, with Kies and with Kies with all related tasks killed. I tried all of USB ports and change of PC as well. Nothing works. And as have already mentioned. Another SGII Odin recognized in second (not is download mode but in "normal" working mode)
The videos and photos aren't saved on the Micro SD card by any chance?
Chris.
Unfortunately, no.
What did you do to get a bootloop anyway?
I tried update it using "update option" in the phone. It downloaded the update and then tried to reboot but had stucked in boot loop.
A wipe data/factory reset will only erase user data in the /data partition. It should leave /sdcard (which is the internal sdcard, where your pictures and videos are) alone.
How sure are you about that? Anyway..as nothing works this is probably the last option I can try..

Very sure. Just make sure you don't choose to format /sdcard if that option is available to you. (which if you're not rooted, and don't have CWM recovery, it shouldn't be available to you at all)
EDIT to add: just so you don't freak out, it WILL try to format /sdcard/.android_secure. That is normal. This folder is the hidden folder Android uses for apps that are moved to the internal SD card.
OK, thanks. I will try tomorrow..
Doesnt work I tried everything. With Kies, without Kies (killed all processes related to Kies), I changed USB ports, changed PC.. Any idea why Odin doesnt recognize my phone? I tried another SGII and it appeared almost immediately in Odin (not in download mode but "normal" working mode) Is there anything else I can do?
// I´ve just found some information about USB jig but I am not sure if this will work in this case. Moreover I dont want to lose the warranty so I am not sure if this will affect it.

But this will get me into Android system recovery which is not helpful. I cannot do anything in there just erase data/ cache etc. I need ODIN to recognize my phone while plugged in the PC. I can get into download mode as well but Odin doesn recognize my phone. What else can I do?

the other phone you have tried is recognaized while Download mod by the ODIN from PC,?? not in the normal..
if not you are missing the driver still
What to do with USB jig when you are already able to get download mode
actually, I havent tried the other phone connet to Odin in download mode as I dont know what to do then. I mean, can I just take the cable off the phone and long press on/off button while in download mode to stop it? I dont want to break it..
The drivers should be ok, as there is the last samsung usb driver for mobile phones installed (1.5.4.0)
Dont load any rom on the pda of odin, just get the dwnlmod and connect the phone, to see whether its showing added in the odin and idcom highlighted with yellow or not then disconnect the cable and long press as you told to come out fr dl mod

Factory data reset is not factory default ROM, what exactly did you do, factory data reset or have you flashed stock ROM?
Can you enter flash or fastboot mode? Remove the battery again before you try both, and open flashtool window to see if connected in flash/fastboot mode.

If you can enter flash mode, mMaybe you can relock bootloader and try yo repair with PCC or SUS.
Open flashtool window and connect in flash mode, see it stays in flash mode for about 45 seconds.

Hello!
My friend has a big problem. He broke his phone screen (LCD and touch). His Android has pattern to unlock and usb debugging off. System work's - I see about 15 px of top menu and hear sound from speaker.
Is there any chance to recive data from internal memory? He broke that phone about 3 month ago and right now he probably don't remember pattern.
I try connect mouse and keyboard with OTG cable, but it does not work. I try push 3 buttons and open recovery menu, but nothing to happend.
It is possible, pattern locks are really simple to crack using adb (tons of tutorials online).
Once you have done that, you can try to use the good ol otg combo.
If that doesn't work, boot into download mode (usually power button + home + volume down) and flasha recovery (don't wipe the userdata). Then from there, adb can recognize it and you can create a backup from there and access shell to get the files.
Good luck.

Pop your battery out, then after ~10min put it back in, then hold power + home button + volume down and flash recovery, then when you boot into recovery mtp and and will be enabled. Good luck
The phone has been in the drawer for quite a long time (5+ Years)
I come to try flash root to it and it wont boot into fastboot. all that happens is a black screen and nothing else.
ADB reports it as being there till it reboots ( 'adb reboot bootloader' ) , when the phone reboots its a black screen and if i plug in a usb lead then i get the standard windows was unable to recognise this device. ( Attached is a device manager Grab of it )
I have tried to use Flashtool64 (latest version) it reboots to the same black screen. The only way then to get it back to a usable phone is to unplug the lead and press the power button till it vibrates.
I have spent 10+ hours reading and reading everywhere and nothing that has been suggested has been succesful.
This is my last hope ( I realise its a 10 year old phone) and am hoping someone can help me sort this out.
Many Thanks in advance

Tried that.i have spent a very long time on this. Starting to get to the point that the phone is poop. And needs to be binned
To confirm the functionality of the equipment.
Can you transfer files from/to phone in adb mode?
Yes, the device problem only happens when it reboots to bootloader for fastboot access. I think bootloader is corrupted . Can't flash new one without boitloader/fastboot access. Well that's my understanding
What about flashmode?
Flash mode:
1) Connect the USB cable to the computer (do not connect it to the phone yet)
2) Turn off the phone
3) When the phone turns off, plug the USB cable into the phone and hold the Volume Down button
4) The phone should boot into Flashmod mode!
Your Xperia Z Ultra should be in Flash Mode now and the device’s LED light should turn into Green
Fastboot mode:
1) Connect the USB cable to your computer (don't connect it to the phone yet)
2) Turn off the phone
3) When the phone turns off, plug the USB cable into the phone and hold the Volume Up button
4) The phone should boot into fastboot mod!
Your Xperia Z Ultra should be in Flash Mode now and the device’s LED light should turn into Blue

Same. Even EMMA doesn't work. Which was a suggestion. Or flash prog (used old and new) all seem to reboot to bootloader/fastboot which has same error as stated.
The usb vol down with plugging in usb / power on doesn't work either.
neither does the vol up + power / usb
ammended to clarify
when powering up/vol down i get a short vibration, then it boots normally. pressing vol up + power gets black screen.
usb + vol Down does nothing, usb + Vol up also does nothing
I am thinking that the phone is not booting into a software that 'tells the USB what it is. Th OS boots fine tho and it sees the phone and can xfer to and from the phone
