Good for everyone!!
Sorry for my google's traductor english
I mention my case to see if with the help of all I can restore the phone.
After spending hours tinkering with the phone, turn it into a paperweight and reliving me realize I can not find a way to make the phone work properly.
The phone lights up, root access and the latest Cyanogen rom installed with the corresponding recovery.
The problem is that once you put on the sim that puts you never recognized. It asks me the pin and when I try to enter the dialpad to put a sequence to know, for example, if you have a lock on (step I made when the phone had the movistar rom) or simply to know the imei, it is trying to call and not open the menus.
I do not know if discovered and can serve as something that if I go into Settings - About Phone ANRO I have the version 2.3.5, 2.6.35.7 Kernel Version-perf-CL591990root @ dell126 # 1 and build number GINGERBREAD.XWKS3 . What baffles me and maybe come around the problem is that in the field puts Base Band Version Unknown. The same if I go into state gives me no information network, imei, network status, etc..
I tried also to urge a new modem, but not for that.
Has anyone had or has the same problem?
I appreciate your help in trying to help solve the problem.
If you need any additional information, be alert to tell you.
Greetings!
I have brought a phone from other country to turkey , Based on regulation when you bring a phone from outside the network access get blocked by government after two months .
After some research I found that for fixing this i need to change my IMEI number
I tried using xposed IMEI chnger but i failed to install xpoae after trying every installation method , I am not sure if xposefld imei changer work .
I am asking is there any way to change my phone IMEI number ?
I bought a Pocophone online, received it, and used it for about a month.
After one month, after Turning it off and back on completely, the wifi and cellular didn't work anymore. (was on MIUI)
I reflashed MIUI from TWRP, thinking it would solve the problem, but now I was stuck :
When you boot up MIUI for the first time (or after reflashing) you need to enter your MIUI account code to go on with the setup process. But that's no use, because with no Wifi or cellular, the phone cant check the password.
I have the IMEI (I don't know for the MAC address) printed on a sticker on the phone's box, but I didn't want to change it myself because I understand that's not completely legal ?... Anyway, I sent it back to client service and waited. They received it, and acknowledged the problem, but as they're an online reseller (big place in my country) they "sent it back to Xiaomi". So I waited again. Now, they're telling me that
Their technicians have denounced the warranty on the grounds that your equipment has been oxidized.
The cost of repairing your device is equivalent to the price of new equipment and has therefore been declared economically irreparable.

I know that's false, but I'm not in a position to tell them anything, so when I get my phone back, I'd like some pointers on how to fix it myself. I'm pretty sure I've got to fix the EFS partition, but don't know how.
I know this is not a hardware problem because the phone is still able to scan, and see and list wifi networks, and the message specifically says there is no IMEI and MAC adress.
Thanks to all of you !

Short & simple method. Flash a custom rom. It will solve your miui account issue. But I don't know if that will solve your wifi issue as well

Yes I tried this when i still had it, but the IMEI and Mac adress are still missing. A phone that cant "phone" is of no use...
Sorry to hear about your loss, how can they say it iodized? Whatever you can use it for a bit of experiments. Do you have any twrp backup if yes you can restore it .if not you can try with any efs backup of nay other device..not sure its possible or not any one here with more knowledge can do this and many in markets can do it too if you can provide them the proof of a legal purchase
I have even worse problem

I didnt do to much research, but this looks like it's an official seller. just send it to them for warranty.
Update : Deleted
Phone exchanged and files deleted.
Thank you for the offer but just a bit too chancy and i very much want my Pocophone to be just fully functional phone. The Lazada purchase was very much a legal purchase but the Lazada suppliers are individual shops which may be or not "Official" Xiaomi dealers. I have sent the phone in box and with copy of my receipt to Xiaomi in Bangkok, and hope to have good news from them after New Year. Hope and trust in Xiaomi doing the right thing; Thailand is not strong on customer protection.

I have an efs backup done just after unlocking. If you absolutely want your phone revived I can share it but I guess it will have my imei and mac. I don't know if you can change it but your device might work as a phone. Do tell me if you acknowledge the possible problems then I will give the backup qcn file to you.

Is it possible to use your file and then change the iemi and mac address?
I had to flash to miui 9 in order to get into my phone now I can see my iemi and mac adress are unknown.
Im hoping I have the box still somewhere in order to restore the iemi with some application.
But not sure if there is anything else that can still be broken
lost my imei too i got them writen on the box but i think there is no working way to get them back in the phone

Can you give me efs file? thank you very much.
Hi guys, my uncle has given me his redmi 5 plus (Vince) for tinkering around or to fix, to say.
It was dead after minor ingress of water droplets. And person who my uncle gave phone to, recovered the mobile but it's IMEI numbers are lost.
So it's not getting any network.
So far I tried to flash lot many ROMs on it, developer global, global stable, China stable but condition is same.
Strange thing I observed is, in fastboot mode miflashtool gives error for all the ROMs...
Modem error.
And I can flash successfully only in edl model with testpoint method.
Btw mobile is stock, i.e bootloader is locked and it's not rooted. Has stock recovery as well.
And I can't unlock bootloader without Sims functioning based on requirements of xioami.
I could re instate imei numbers finally with one desktop app and opening diag port with ussd code but still mobile isn't getting any network (with back cover opened. I haven't installed it back yet since it's too hard to remove it if required. Don't know whether it has something to do with network reception.)
Don't know what's the reason as I am not aware of telecom technicalities like baseband etc.
So any inputs are welcome and appreciated.
Hi, i have bought G977N and later came to know that its IMEI is tampered to get registered on the local networks. it was working before i upgraded it to G977NKOU4CTG1, the original firmware was G977NKSU2BSL7. After upgrading it did not register any of the networks. Got it checked from software expert he told me the network patching done with tempered imei was damaged and now there is no way to do it again on new version G977NKOU4CTG1. I tried to flash G977NKSU2BSL and also the factory firmware of android pie but ODIN get stuck at BOOT.img and download screen shows non-supported version. Can any one help to restore my original IMEI and will it work.
The IMEI ( read: International Mobile Equipment Identity ) is a unique numerical identifier ( 14-17 digits ) for every mobile device what helps to differentiate each device from one another. If you take your phone in for repair, they will track it using the IMEI to distinguish it from the other millions of phones, for example.
IMEI basically has nothing to do with phone's local network settings at all. But it may be used to unlock a phone on certain networks.
The IMEI is stored on phone's /EFS partition and/or /EFS folder. If you didn't backup that before flashing you have lost, IMO, unless you still have the box in which the phone was delivered, because there is usually the IMEI printed, too.
I don't have the box of the phone. The seller has tempered the imei to get it registered on the local network. I didn't backup before flashing. Now what to do. How to downgrade to previous firmware. I tried to flash the previous firmware but it stuck in boot.img.
They told me solution is available for U3 binary but no solution is available for U4 binary.
Awaiting for help on this issue.
You should have returned the device. Since the imei has been tampered with you will not get much help here. Imei changing and tampering is illegal in most countries. And it's not discussed on xda

I'm guessing you also bought a tampered IMEI device. Take it to any local market where there are plenty of phone 'software repair' guys. Ask them if they have Chimera or z3x tool. They'll fix your problem for ~800 PKR.
Remember, if you buy such devices, don't flash anything on them. Every time you do, you'll need to go back to the same software guy and pay him to fix your signal issue.
=========================
For other people reading this comment - Yes I understand IMEI tampering is illegal in most countries. The reason people in Pakistan buy these phones is because the government has levied unreasonable duties on all imported devices, without any consideration for the age/condition. For example, a used/refurbished S10 that costs you 250 USD in the US, will have custom charges of about 250 USD applied to it if you want it to work in Pakistan. So basically you pay double.
I have this same issue somtimes the signal comes and somtimes it doesnt.
