Hello everyone
I need the help of some professionals around here
I just made a mistake while trying to root my Galaxy Tab 10.1 (P7500) with Stock ICS (4.04) on it. I did the following:
I followed this a Tutorial to root the tablet with Odin.
1) I booted the tablet into download mode
2) Then I used odin to update the bootloader
3) Instead of clicking the "PDA" button in Odin I clicked the "Bootloader" button and started the flash process - which was the mistake
3) After this the tablet restartet
The problem is now the following. I cannot boot into the download mode anymore (the normal system still boots fine). When I press volume up + power the selection screen appears. When I then choose download mode, the screen turns black and the tablet restarts. I seem to have destroyed the bootloader.
So all methods to root the tablet with ODIN for flashing a new bootloader fail because I cannot get into download mode anymore.
So I tried the root method by copying the Rooting-Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10.1.zip to the root directory. Then I went to the stock recovery mode and choose the option "update from external sd card" to install the root. Unfortunately I get the following message: "E:unknown volume for path [/sdcard]". I cannot find any way to choose a file. I read the the mount point in ICS to /sdcard is set during the boot process so its not available in the stock recovery mode.
So I am kind of stuck now because I cannot use Odin and also cannot use the stock recovery mode to do anything.
I also tried the following:
Reset to factory defaults - Didnt helpt still cannot get into download mode
Install Mobile Odin to flash a stock bootloader - did not work because there is no root
Does anyone of you have an idea? I am really stuck at the moment and would appreciate any help.
Try the emergency firmware recovery or re initialization tools in Kies and see how you get on. Never used them myself though so don't know how they're supposed to work. (May just try to invoke download mode?! I dunno!)

I would try a comple, and I mean a COMPLETE drain of the battery. It'll take a week but maybe that's your best option

If you've got Clockwork Mod recovery installed, you should be able to install superuser to give you root permission.
Or are you still running stock recovery?
I know there has been other treads about this before but none of the suggestions seemed to work for me. I searched and searched and I'm just not finding a fix. I hate to do these posts when an easy answer is right there but I just can't figure it out and it's killing me. So here it is:
I just got this Verizon Galaxy Tab that would not come on - only showed the battery charging icon. I just charged it over night and it came on once. However, processes kept shutting down. For instance, when I went into settings and tried to connect to my wifi network, the whole process would just close down. So I let it get to about 40% and reboot it to download mode (there was no recovery). I found the correct .tar file for it and flashed it with ODIN3 v1.85. It completed successfully but now it won't boot past the Samsung splash screen. Once the splash screen comes up, it will just go back to the large battery charging icon in the middle of the screen.
Then I tried the other option where you get into recovery and nothing happens at all. The screen is backlit black (you can just see light around the edges of the screen) and nothing ever happens.
So now, it's just charging but it seems to charge very slowly. I was wondering if this is a battery issue or some strange sequence that needs to be done. It seems to be at about 40% again. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
These are other things I've tried:
hold the power button down for 30 seconds
Hold the power button down while touching the screen
More suggestions would be appreciated.
Now the tablet is fully charged but it still gets stuck on the splash screen when trying to boot up. Still have no recovery. Also, I'm not able to find a PIT file to re-partition. Can someone tell me how to get the stock recovery back at least? I've been looking but I can't find a file to flash for the recovery.
Same problem
Hi, I have the same issue basically. I have the Galaxy Tab SGH i957D 8.9 (TELUS) and flashed it to root last night, now I have the same problem. Except I have CWM installed, I was able to install that AFTER I locked it up. Help from one of the GURUs here would be great. It's obviously a problem caused by flashing it.
So try flashing with CWM, at least you'll have a good recovery on it. If we work together, we may be able to come up with a solution for our dilemma. I don't believe it;s a major problem, I had the same issue with my captivate phone when trying to CWM and Cyanogenmod, and I got it working perfectly, so there is hope.
I have tried the stock rom, rooted rom, and a couple of others, but still can;t get past the splash screens. Left it overnight trying to boot, and all it did was kill the battery. I can;t even turn it off, it just reboots every time I try shutting down. I CAN get to download and recovery mode though, and flash it all I want with Odin 3.7 and 1.83, just never boots past the splash screens.

Thanx for the reply. As you can see, I've been around these forums for a long time and usually I'm able to work it out but this one has got me stumped. Just wanted to ask you if you have tried to flash a custom ROM in Clockwork? Also, did you go through unlocking the boot loader befor you flashed it? I did not because I received the tablet in this condition. I tried to flash clockwork mod but I get an "invalid file" error in Odin. Once I flashed the stock recovery and it worked fine. But after reflashing the stock rom, the stock recovery is gone now. Do you have a link to the files you used? I'm thinking that the stock recovery is messed up but I can only find that one file.
no I haven't tried flashing through CWM, as I wasn't trying to flash originally, I was just rooting and going easy on it, then it wouldn't boot, so I wasn't prepared and now can't add files to my SD drive.
I didn't unlock the boot, as none of the instructions I read mentioned it (rooting was all I was trying to do).
I don't even have a stock recovery either, all I have is CWM and TWRP.
I'm going to try mounting it in Linux and see if that makes any difference to put roms on my SD drive, as windows doesn't like it anymore, except through Odin, where luckily it seems to work fine... For now.. lol
Fixed!!!

I'm glad you got the right firmware and fixed your tab! But this site does not list a firmware for the SCH–i905 anywhere. Unless the Verizon Galaxy tab has an alternate model# there is no firmware on the site for my device. Oh well, at least one of us got tablets fixed. Congrats!
Download mode issue.
What recommendations do you guys have for a tablet that will not recognize in download mode?
I accidently flashed a bootloader and had auto reboot on - couldnt flash kernel and modem in time.
My tablet fully boots up, (rom manager says cwm is installed) as well as when i boot into recovery its completely black.
My main concern is that download mode is not recognized. it was previously working prior to installing the bootloader.
What can i do to fix this issue?

Can you start by giving as much info as possible about your tab, make model# etc.
can you actually get into download mode? Power button and Volume down button till it boots then release pwr.
you may have bad drivers on your pc. I had this problem with my phone when I installed CM.
get into DL mode and then start Odin and hopefully you will see the Com port attached.
then in PDA load the stock rom for your tab.
hopefully at this point youll be all set.
if your tab is fully functional, then try just flashing CWM or TWPR to your tab. I found with mine that CWM works best. I like TWP better for looks and the touchscreen functionality, but I found it gets a bit flaky after a few flashes, where CWM seems more stable.

give me all your info for your tab, make, model.. carrier etc. as much as you can, and I will see if I can find any stock roms while doing my searches. 2 sets of eyes are better than one...
So i have a sch-i905, 4.0.4 - I CAN boot into normal android
I flashed a bootloader last night and had auto reboot ticked. was not able to install the modem or the kernel.
I can get into download mode without any issues, but now download mode says "waiting for cable" and is not recognized by pc as it once was prior to the flash.
I can also get into recovery but its completely black ( assuming due to no kernel flashed )
I can get into android normally, but cant fix firmware through download mode, and recovery.
Please help :X
side note: rom manager says twmp and cwm is installed, though i get no display in recovery only blackness
if i can get download mode to work again or get cwm to show up i can fix it, but dont know where to go from here.

I don't get it. First, you can't flash a kernel using Odin. Second, your tab won't even be able to boot without the kernel.

If you can get into DL mode, then its probably just an issue of drivers on your pc. Download the samsung drivers and reinstall.
Then put your tab in dl mode. Then connect to the pc with cable, try a different usb port than before.
Then start odin, if you get the Com port showing up in the status box, then flash CWM recovery to the tab. Then start over with what you are trying to do. But I can almost garantee its an issue with drivers on your pc. I had the exact same problem with my phone when I did it,
and fixing drivers was the issue. I wss stumped for a long time on that issue. If that doesnt work, look into Heimdall flash utility or Kies and go from there.
Hope this helps. Or at least gets you on the right track.

dont think its a driver issue.
it was working fine in download mode prior to me flashing a bootloader.bin, and yes you can flash a kernel.bin through odin, as well as a modem.bin.
I was in the process of installing cwm this way when it happened.
I can get into the os, i can get adb working fine, recovery is just a black screen though it goes into it. and i can get into download mode still, just stuck at "waiting for cable" no interaction with device manager

Ive tried another pc as well. I dont believe its a driver issue as there is 0 interaction in download mode with device manager. but prior it easily was detected in odin no issues.

Ok... Im getting confused here... You Can still flash with Odin? Then you can install a new recovery on it. If device manager on the pc is not working, then you probably have a corrupt install, or the wrong rom file for your particular tab, and the usb drivers arent correct for your tablet.
Personally, I would start by downloading a stock rom file and return the tab to factory before starting anything, so you have it working as it should before continuing further.
If you DO HAVE a stock rom, maybe you could pass it along, i believe shawndh who started this thread is in need of one for the same tablet.
confusion fixed

I cannot currently get download mode to recognize anything. just keeps saying "waiting for cable" thats why i cant do anything in download mode. It was currently working prior to flashing the bootloader through odin with the "auto reboot" accidentally clicked.

Oh... Well then it is beyond the scope of any problem I have encountered, or seen a solution to. I thought you could still connect in download mode.
Can you change usb debugging mode in tablet settings, that may enable you to connect? If not I dont think I personally can help, as your posts read like you could still use Odin.
On my phone, (galaxy S) nothing would connect after I messed up, but could do things with Heimdalls utility. See if you can connect with that. Worth a try, it does the same as Odin, but connects differently somehow.

possible clues: when tablet boots up, it boots up to a bright black screen, only once it completely boots up am i able to see my display properly.

Thanx for the reply. I have the SCH-i905 32gb Galaxy 10.1 tab. The carrier is Verizon. I've spent days looking for another download source but I can only find one - there's a link from this site. Others have posted that it did restore their devices so I'm thinking that there are some bad clusters that need to be quarantined but I can't even find a tool for the Galaxy Tab that will do or check for that. I'd appreciate it if you could take a look though. Thanx.

Are you connecting to a USB port that is on the motherboard of your computer? Mine will only recognize my tablet with one port. The other ports are not recognized at all by ODIN.

I don't think its a cluster issue, just a bad flash previously. But you'll see from the link, yours is also known as the P4vzw. Well check the link and make sure that's your tab that I found. Then have a look at ALL the files for that tab.
Have you seen/tried this one... here's the thread STOCK ROM FOR YOUR TAB...
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342995
Here's just the file.
http://goo.gl/XPMXv
Try flashing CWM recovery to your tab, and try a file from cyanogenmod
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/P4vzw_Info
Or just try the CM ROM first maybe and see what happens. I don't remember what you have for recovery. There are a bunch on there, but all nightly that I saw, but even that would be better than nothing for now if it works.
I'm still looking, but I know what you're saying about few and far between. I think they all are for the tabs. Let you know if I find anything else.
Another mod ROM. http://www.teamandroid.com/2012/08/...tab-101-sch-i905-android-411-aosp-jelly-bean/
Dear all.
First of all, thanks for your attention, I really appreciate.
I have a GNote 10.1 Wi-Fi version (N8013) with stock Android 4.1.
My S-Pen was getting me crazy, because I was not able to use it correctly on the edges of the device. I tried an app that supposed to reset the alignment, but I did not work, so I googled and found that the only way to fix it was "factory reseting" the tablet.
So, I installed the TeamWin recovery and backed up my data. After that I hit the button "reboot". But before rebooting, the recovery screen "told me" that I was not rooted and "asked" if I would like to install SuperSU to get root access. I checked YES and rebooted.
After that I got stucked at the "Samsung Galaxy Note" screen (see attached file).
I've tried to switch off the note, but the screen goes off for one second and it lights up again at the same screen.
If I plug the USB cable and try to switch it off, the note goes to the battery charging screen. If I remove the USB and push the power button again, the tablet gets back to the "Samsung Galaxy Note" screen.
Odin seems to "connect" with the tablet.
I can enter both the download mode and the recovery mode (not the teamwin recovery).
Attached pictures of what I get.
Any sugestions?
Thanks!!!
Everything is ok now
Dear all,
Hope I can help you if you have a problem similar to mine.
I remembered that a PC with no OS stops on some screen, but everything else works, just as what was happening with my note.
I tought that I might have wiped more things than I should, so, the only thing I had to do was to restore the backup that I had.
To do this I should reinstall the TWRP and the only way was via Odin.
Solved the problem this way:
1. Downloaded the Odin (http://techbeasts.com/2013/08/08/download-odin-pc-latest-version-v-3-07/)
2. Downloaded the TWRP file (http://techerrata.com/get/twrp2/p4noterf/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-p4notewifi.tar)
3. Connected the Galaxy Note to my PC using the USB cable
4. Entered the "download mode"
5. Loaded the file from step 2 into the tablet using Odin
6. Rebooted the tablet
7. Entered the recovery mode (TWRP was working)
8. Restored the backup that I had
9. Rebooted again
Did the dance of victory!!!
I am so glad to have my device back.

Hello. I havea similar problem with my note 2 phone. It will not get past the
samsung screen. My cpu knowledge is very limited. Are you open to accepting payment for attempting to fix my cell phone? All I want is the pictures off of it if that is all you can do to it. Pleass email me at [email protected] if you or anyone you know can help. Thanks....Jay
Same thing is happening to mine. I tried Odin but after the download the srceen goes black and then comes back to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 screen.
Hello folks.
Same problem here with a n8000.
It had the stock unrooted rom probably JellyBean.
Can only access Download Mode, nothing else.
I get connection to Odin, tried to flash original firmware, 4 file firmware, re-partition with pit file, flash a custom recovery, all seem to pass through but nothing changes, still stuck on 'Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1' screen, never moves on to boot animation and still can't access Recovery Mode.
However, something else I triy with Odin and it FAILS is ticking 'Nand Erase All'. It won't let me erase nand.
Could this mean some kind of memory corruption?
Does it have anything to do with EMMC?
If it does, is there a possible way to fix without replacing the hardware?
What else can I try before giving up?
It would be nice if other users who report this problem attempt to Nand Erase All and see if it also FAILS..
Thanks alot and sorry for the long post.
Edit: after posting I found this which is PROBABLY THE SOLUTION for me.
And here is another topic on this issue.
did you find the solution?

It would be nice if other users who report this problem attempt to Nand Erase All and see if it also FAILS..
Thanks alot and sorry for the long post.
Edit: after posting I found this which is PROBABLY THE SOLUTION for me.
And here is another topic on this issue.

I assumed from my searches the solution would be JTAG or replace the EMMC.
Since I don't have the resources for any of those, I just abandoned it to the dust and rust..
bootloader
Is this after the boot loader is updated?

I'm not very clear about bootloader upgrading, but I guess it was included in the 4 file firmware I tried flashing and it said 'success' but nothing changed..
I think it ain't just a softbrick since I can't erase nand..
What's your background, osirisx69?
This happened to ours as well just today. Unplugged it rebooted it and it's stuck. Can only access the Odin mode.

Did you ever find a fix for this ? Would of been a dam sight easier if there was rocker buttons on the side all it needs a cache and factory reset and it's fixed

techman20, have you ever solved this? I ran to exact same issue and have been tried different methods for the past 2 days. I'm new to Android so need community's help.
Here is the current state of my device (GT-B9150 Samsung Homesync):
- In order to get root, flashed ROM MJ1 (TUR version), followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2497102
- After flash the device got very slow so I figured I need to wipe the data and cache partition
- There is no volume key of the device so I use adb to reboot to recovery mode (debug mode has been enabled earlier), again there is no key so I didn't know how to select in the screen (should have use adb command as well, I was not that familar with adb), instead I put into the command rm -r /data, then the device dead
- After reboot the device stuck in the bootloop: I see samsung logo and homesync logo, NO adb connection (I think the debugging mode is not on)
- I tried flash a few other versions of the ROM and it does not working as well, all stuck same at the bootloop
I figured if I can wipe the data and cache partition after a fresh installation of ROM the device could be saved.
Here are a few path that I see can solve this:
Option 1: Get into recovery mode, but I don't know the key combination, also adb is not working so seems can not use command line either
Option 2: Since I'm able to get into download mode, I can use Odin to flash some sort of bootloader with adb function, so that I can later use command to get into recovery mode
Option 3: Complete wipe out the device, re-partition using Odin
Since I'm new I don't exactly know if any options here makes sense and what are the risk for each. Also I don't have the pip for option 3. Would be great if any expert here can shed some light on, it's been bothered me for 2 entire days at weekend.
Thanks,
Is there anyone can please help me with this issue, or provide some insights?
Thanks

for boot loop you need to clean data and cache partition. To do that you need to go to recovery mode.
To do that, turn off the device , hold the power button. First you will see its power on, keep it pressed. And after 5s , you can home sync will rebooted to recovery.
Hi all, I know this is too old subject, but unfortunately I had my homesync flashed firmware through Odin and I did nand erase all, it is now stuck to Samsung homesync logo after booting. I know it is required wipe but how if no recovery is installed into the original firmware? any thought?

I did it too. Anyone can please help me?
Hi all.
Help me, I can't find PIT file for Samsung Homesync (GT-B9150).
Good afternoon. I tell my problem.
Upon receiving mobile I decided to apply some improvements on your Android 6.0 system.
The first thing I did was root with Kingoroot, install Flashify to change the recovery; I do around here because they seem to have any accessible recovery. Once I install Titamium programs such as backup and Xposed and everything worked perfect.
I made a backup with recovery installed TWRP 3.0.2-0, a microSD 64 Gbytes and try to check it and restore the copy appears the message "Error extractTarFork () process ended with error: 25".
Since then switched on, enters a loop with minimal screen flash, short vibration and so on cyclically. I have made several attempts:
- I enter recovery (vol + power on) and try to install roms from PC with recovery sideload with adb sideload, but the downside is that I can not find any specific rom of this mobile and other snapdragon 210 Roma does not work.
- Another method was through Mobile Upgrade Q - Alcatel Mobile Phones, put it in Download mode (power on + vol up + vol down) in coming, but when connected to the USB computer when leaving the Download mode and enters the same loop described above.
I would be grateful for any help or idea they could think of. If someone could get a rom of this mobile in zip to install through sideload adb I think it would be the ultimate solution.
Thanks in advance.
Some tips:
Using Mobile Upgrade Q: Turn your phone off and leave to charge until full. Then use Mobile Upgrade Q.
Also, send me a PM and I'll give you the stock partitions and tools to flash them back from windows (No Mobile Upgrade Q Needed)
I tried with Mobile Upgrade Q
I tried to recover with the Mobile Upgrade Q, enters Download mode but jumps back to a loop with a little buzz that is repeated every 2-3 seconds.
The only way I can think of after many tests is to install the rom abd through sideload from the TWRP, then try to load roms other phones with the same processor but ultimately fails.
How can I send you MP?
Hello bro
Can you help me get these partitions please?
PM is bor working for me, don't know why, tried to pm you already

Hi if u have twrp, installed I could send u backup of my pop 4
I had the same problem and I managed to unbrick the phone by using this solution I found on XDA.
Go into TWRP recovery. Then click on Advanced. Then click on Terminal and type
echo SYSTEMLESS=true>>/data/.supersu
After that flash SuperSu and reboot the phone. It bootloops once, but after that it boots normal again.
Need help? T.me/pop4uk

Hi,
i know its old but i need the Nonhlos.bin (modem) for 5051x marshmallow. can you please post it here ?
it would be a great help. thanks
Yeah I have a 5051X And its boot freezing not looping should I start a new thread or this gonna need a recovery image like in the OP. I have contacted alcatel supoort to see if they have the flash image but its sunday and I expect that they are closed.
I followed some instructions re rooting my 5051X which involved installing kingroot, obtaining temporary root then using flashy to flash twrp recovery onto the device, I could never update the recovery image and I assume thats because I havn't unlocked my phone yet.
Went to remove kingroot and find it cannot be uninstalled.
So i paid for Supersume (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersumepro&hl=en) and ran that to remove kingroot(i'll prolly reinstall later to follow the guide but dont really trust the application after my lockscreen changed on its own).
Supersume seemed to complete successfully.
Then I decided to reboot the device to see if root had disappeared again after reboot but am now stuck at the alcatel screen for the last 10 mins. Looks like i'm gonna have to pull the battery to shut it down, shame I only had it around a week.
